Hydrogen, Bearer of the Stars

[The Secret Walrus]

 

This is my first post on BZPower, glad to finally get round to coming over here.

 

This is easily the most fragile build of mine, this is not exactly a model for a great range of poses.

 

The embodiment of the element hydrogen. The color scheme came from the range of colors of stars, Red to Yellow to Blue, which is represented by the color transition on the model. Since stars are made up of mostly hydrogen, where the vast majority of hydrogen in the universe is found and the reason stars can actually sustain themselves, it seemed like a pretty good fit. The two orbs can be either two stars or two hydrogen atoms or two protons. The fire/flame design for this came from not only the star motif but also the Hydrogen molecule being very flamable.

 

The model uses technic/bionicle pieces to make up most of it with a handful of system parts for extra detailing and add texture to the lower part.

 

This was made as an entry in a competition on the Bionicle subreddit.

What a true work of art this is though. I absolutely love it. I never get tired of seeing this MOC. It just executes the concept so well!

 

[The Invisible Handman]

As someone who loves trans blue, orange and gold pieces, It can easily be said that I really love this. The war the colour transitions from each segment is great and I love the way it evokes red, yellow and blue stars. Congratulations on building this thing!

I absolutely love this, especially Tarix's swords used as wings. It's always great to see an underused piece so elegantly employed. I long to see more of your works!

First off I have to commend you on that lower half! Though like you said it lacks mobility, I for one can overlook that for the visual effect of living flames, which you've nailed! And although there are a number of colours, you have them blending from one to the other so smoothly (not always the easiest thing to do). And the wings, I would never have thought of using them as such but they work surprisingly well here. I also like how you constructed a unique head for it as well.

Visually, this is now easily one of my favorite MOCs.

A very nice MOC! I especially like how well the flame transitions in to the body. Was this by any chance inspired by Aurelion Sol? I sense visual and conceptual similarities.

This is quite the nito build, I can only imagine how fragile it must be, but it's a great looking model nonetheless!

 

I'm curious about how on earth someone would even plan for how the bottom half is even put together.
