You Have 925 Million Danish Krones to Spend on a Bionicle Project What Are You Getting?

That's about 139 million American dollars.  Let's say for the sake argument that this is just some kind of one-time passion project that LEGO is letling you do (so long as it's safe for BZP obviously) meaning you can't restart the Bionicle theme (but can have a limited set/wave released).

Me?

Tracklist:

Hero - Poppy
Hura-Mafa Flow - CHVRCHES
Piraka Rap - Soyeon
Creeping In My Soul - Orphan Zero
Gravity Hurts - Royal and the Serpent
Closer to the Truth - Blackbriar
Bye Bye Babylon - Olivia Rodrigo
The Final Battle - Neil Cicierega featuring Sasha Alex Sloan
What Is My Destiny? - Chxrlotte
All Endings - Luna Shadows
Never Die - Cryoshell

Note: as far as I know none of these people even know what Bionicle is, but you know when someone's offering 500,000 DKK...  And if a song isn't a well-known Bionicle song that's because instead of a cover it's an imagined song I think they'd write for the album.

Available on all streaming platforms but the vinyl includes a free Mask of Life or Elemental Energy or whatever.

What about you?  I expect a lot of people to list the cast and crew for their dream life action (or anime) movie or say what indie developer they want to make a video game, but if someone wants to open a Good and Bad Guy themed restaurant run by Gordon Ramsay or erect a 50 foot tall marble statue of Takanuva in their local park, then who am I to judge?

Ooooh, wow! What an awesome topic idea! Hmm, so many options, so little concept of how far Real Adult Money would go! 😆🙈 I think given my weird little girlhood dream/dubbing of “cute Bionicles” and “girl LEGO” I’d have to go with creating one (or a chain, if that much moolah could do that?) Build-a-Bionicle plush store(s). where one could custom “build” their own posable/jointed, weighted plush characters with removable armor, masks, wings and outfits, and buy pre-“built” plush versions of the original characters. And each Build-a-Bionicle would come with an access code to an online open-world game with different themes/locations (random “cute” towns, nature oriented, BIONICLE themed ones, studious ones, fantasy lands, etc) with a digital double of one’s custom/or character plush. Where one could socialize/interact, explore, build their own home and village,  and play games, and collaborate on building projects with other plush owners/players + have chat boxes. Like a combo of Littlest Pet Shop VIP plush online game, MySims Wii, and Build-a-Bear. ❤️😆🧸

Full length, high-quality, theatrically-released, 2D-animated movie. Hire some of the best traditional animators in the business, make it a large-scale action-adventure story (somewhat along the look of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, perhaps?) that encapsulates everything that makes Bionicle Bionicle. Effects, world-building, character; the movie would take the time to focus on all those aspects, while at the same time telling a riveting story that could be understood by newcomers just as well as by long-term fans.

I admittedly am not sure what said story would be. Part of me wants to say an elaborate retelling of 2001, as the most iconic and nostalgic point of the franchise for many, myself included... but on the other hand, for as much as I love the classic stuff, I think I'd prefer something more original within the Bionicle world. So instead, maybe an all-new story that picks and chooses elements from throughout the ten years of Bionicle and combines them into something that's equal parts familiar and new? Doesn't have to adhere strictly to canon, but still encapsulates that feeling of the Bionicle world. I think I'd go for that...

And out of all the potential characters it could feature, I'd definitely like the Chronicler's Company to have a key role one way or another!

I'm not great at picking voices so I don't have any specific thoughts on the casting, though at least for some characters - Tahu, Gali, Kopaka most of all, if they feature - my first choice would be for their Miramax trilogy actors to reprise their roles, because that was my childhood and those are the only voices I can imagine for them.

For people to be involved in other aspects... I'd definitely like to get JMS in the writers' room; based on his work with Babylon 5, it would be fantastic to see the Bionicle cast written with his touch, since he's a genius at making characters feel real. Having some of the Disney Renaissance artists work on animating it would be pretty amazing. Maybe Chris Sanders as director, since his recent The Wild Robot captures the juxtaposition of technology and nature in the same way Bionicle's visuals from the 2001 did, and I'd love to see what he'd bring to this table too; maybe some of the other visual development artists from The Wild Robot too, for the same reason. And I'd absolutely love for it to be scored by Hans Zimmer, as composer of some of my favourite animated soundtracks; or if not him, then James Newton Howard, whose music I've loved ever since Dinosaur, and who has previously blended themes for both technological and organic worlds in his score for Atlantis which feels like a solid match for Bionicle.

That's hardly a full crew, but for just coming up with this on the spot I hope if feels like a strong start...!

I like the idea of Build-a-Bionicle!  Especially having it connected to Club Kanohi* which sounds like it could be one of Bionicle's best games ever.

*(That's a combo of my childhood MMO Club Penguin and a play on the old, old Kanohi Club which I always thought was kind of lame)

I like how your idea of a what a Bionicle movie should be, is pretty much the same as mine lol (although I personally have more nostalgia for the Ignition era so might have it set there).

I'd hire a team to make a Bionicle RPG. Maybe we'd call it "Bionicle: Masks of Power".

Too soon...
