Strike From The Shadows

IC - Eyra:The toa's first concern was for the water. After he had dranken enough to dispel some dryness., he replied."I was part of a patrol through Onu Metru, at best two days ago. Dark Hunter ambushed us took out our whole squad singlehandedly. I was captured, interrogated. Escaped by releasing some exhibits via my mask, and that's how I got here. Pursuit is delayed at best. And yes, I can walk, somewhat." He got to his feet, and instincively clapped hands to head, even as the world spun around him.

IC: Inéha (Onu-Metru, SouthCentral)"We need to get back to the Coliseum," She repeated. The Ce-Toa watched, concern painting her Kanohi Pakari a golden shade of geniune, as the Toa of Sonics stumbled to his feet. "Can I use my telekinesis? It will make things go faster."Then, she turned to the other Toa. "Where are you all headed? I don't suggest staying in one place for too long."

IC(Boxon, Inside the coliseum): Boxon took a moment to calm himself. He wasn't sure he could do this. All his insecurities, all his doubts, rose up in him like a tidal wave. But something pushed him forward, and he began speaking."Great turaga, I have been living in Ta-Metru ever since the Dark Hunters took over part of this great city. I have seen toil, despair, and great suffering. But one thing reigns over all: fear. Fear of what the Dark hunters could do to us." Boxon paused, took a deep breath, and presented his idea. "The greatest fear in this city is of the tunnels underground. The matoran all know that the Dark Hunters have control over the underground beneath them. They fear that, at any time, the Hunters could bury out of the ground, and steal them away from everything they know, possilby their very lives. As long as the Dark Hunters are in close proximity, the matoran will never be able to completely focus on their work. So I suggest that someone take a squad of Vahki, or toa, underground, to flush out the amount of Hunter resistance, or, if there are no hunters there, to seal off the tunnels, so that no Dark Hunter can enter." He bowed slighly, and stepped back, glad that it was over. He felt weak, and exposed. He had not done anything like this since Dragon's death.-Bane

IC: ColiseumVetus and Legio quitely walked into the meeting. They took seats away from the others.Legio could pass for a Toa if need be and Vetus could pass as a Matoran as long as she displayed none of her powers. The group was here to seek an alliance with the Toa of the island. But they would wait until the meeting was finished.Polluo sat outside the giant building as he had been told to.Vetus had told him to stay outside as to not draw unneeded attention to the group. He felt uncomfortable as passersby gave him weird looks. He worried that they may attack him at any moment. Sure he could take them on but he was supposed to be here on a peaceful mission.

IC: Exathia / Onu-Metru (south-central)"I was just returning from Po-Metru. The Sculpture Fields, to be exact. A small group of Dark Hunters, including this strange, six armed monster, attacked the group I was with as we were escorting a group of supply carrying Matoran. They made off with or destroyed most of it, but we suffered few personnel losses, thank Mata-Nui. And then I found him..."Exathia looked down at Eyra, trying to help him stand. IC-Kal:Kal deactivated his mask, coming into view of everybody within the council chamber, similar to what Nidhiki had done not too long ago. He unclenched his fists, the vibro-daggers retreating back into his guantlets, as he looked about the room, his baleful eyes hidden by his visor."Do you need me for anything?" He asked in a cold monotone, "Or can I go out hunting?"

IC - Dume:The turaga nodded slowly. He pressed a button on the long table, and the map shifted to one of the archives and tunnel system."The trouble is, we have two few soldiers. I would have flushed them out, only they're too resistant." He paused, and pointed to a tunnel that was larger than most. "This is one of the major tunnels, and one that goes under some of our major forges. We cannot conquer all the tunnels, but we can at least destroy or capture this." He paused, the words 'I will lead the task force' on his lips. Right across from him, Lhikan fixed a penetrating stare at him."I- Lhikan will lead this assignment. If he allows, you may join his group."

IC(Boxon, coliseum): "Thank you, sir," said Boxon, saluting. He then turned to Lhikan. "I know that two fire toa on a mission might be overkill. But if you would have me, I would enjoy learing from you." He stood at attention, waiting for Lihkan's answer. At Kal's response, he looked at him blankly, amazed that anyone could treat Lhikan with such informality.-Bane

IC: Lhikan (Coliseum) Lhikan dipped his chin towards his chest in a vague nod at the multiple questions fired at him. "I like this idea, but we will need a capable, not to mention sizeable, force," He spoke, hushing the crowd. "I need a group of those willing to assemble." He pointed to the closest row of stadium seats ringing the arena in the Coliseum. "I need to see what I have to work with."

IC(Boxon, Coliseum): With a courageousness that suprised even him, Boxon replied. "Besides, who knows what's going on down there? The Hunters may be preparing a major attack right under our feet, and we wouldn't even know it. It would be a complete massacre. No one would be safe. If we don't take steps to remove the pest, the damage will be irreversable."-Bane

IC: Darkon, Onu-MetruDarkon, silent and hidden in the shadows of the tall, intimidating Onu-Metruian buildings, stalked through the City of Earth, having found something of interest. The thing was a small matoran, doing something incredibly naive and unbelievably stupid. He was outside of the Protectorate Fortress, searching for his friend, whom hadn't been sighted since the original attack.Maintain his silence, Darkon rose from four legs to two, his body hunched and contorted in a hideous fashion. The matoran, searching through rubble, went completely still. Darkon's breathing, ragged and slowly, had alerted the small being of the hunter's nearby presence. Darkon was three times larger than the matoran, a literal behemoth in the being's eyes. With infinite gentleness, Darkon reached foward to grab the the stunned Matoran's shoulder. With a cry of shock, the matoran stumbled back, eyes wide with terror. "I-it..." Darkon attempted to say, he strange mouth contorting and moving in maddening ways. "It burns. In my head. IT BURNS!" He said, starting quiet, and then going into a insane, agony-powered screech. The matoran stared at him in wonder. Why hasn't he killed me yet? What is he? and How do I get away? were some of the thoughts running around in his head. "It burns. Burns so much. Try to stop it. But it burns. Burn, burn, burn, burns so, so bad." Darkon said, insanely droning as he cradled his head in his hands. With a scream of terror, the matoran took off towards the fortress, leaving Darkon to moan and hold his hands in his heads, speaking insanities.OOC: Insane, mutated Vortixx open for interactino.IC: Ayana, Le-KoroAyana sat against a wall, her knees agains her chest, her arms wrapped around the aforementioned knees, and her head down. Her shoulders shook softly as she wept, the images seared into her mind flashing before her eyes. The other Protectorare members made move to help her, console her, or even touch. Ayana was aware of this, aware of the fact that her mental breakdown had made the others think of her as a mentally unstable freak. Lifting her head up, Ayana, tears running from her eyes down her cheeks, stared at the others before her. No one would even so much as look at her. OOC: Open for Interaction.

IC(Boxon, Coliseum): Boxon continued to answer Truahkia's questions. He didn't know what had come over him. He hadn't felt this alive since Dragon. "But this could also be a scouting mission," he replied. "We have no idea what's going on underground. If we can get under there, we have a better chance at knowing. Besides that, destroying the tunnel would cause structural damage to the buildings above."-Bane

IC: Nidhiki (Training Room, Coliseum)"Rank 3."Immediately, a de-staved Vahki was pushed forward by the people in the control room of the training facility. This gym was massive: at least the size of eight conference rooms, built so that any number of forces could practice here or relax at any time. I wasn't here, however, to relax. I was here to kill. I stoodThe Vahki began to waddle forward mechanically, and I ducked under its robotic swing, taking it by the arm and hurling it down the gym. The Vahki pushed itself up and began to advance, and I couldn't help but admire the customized training model: ever since Lhikan and I had taken initiative and ordered certain Vahki models to be upgraded for sparring use. We ranked them 1 through 5, one being toughest, five being wimpiest. Right now, I was in the mood for working my way up.CRUNCH!Fist through the Vahki's head, obliterating its CPU and sending it to the ground in a puddle of sparks and oil. The back of my hand had been ripped open by the sharper metallic parts. I ignored this. I'd suffered worse.Tuyet.The thought drove a cold knife through my spine, and out of impulse, I screamed, "Rank 1!"Immediately, a Vahki began to push itself forward, turning and glaring at me with lit-up orange eyes. I licked the blood away from my hand and began to advance towards the Vahki, but the metallic little creep got the jump on me, somehow. Thunk! Cross to the cheek, Vahki sends me sprawling along the floor. CRUNCH! Vahki stomps on my chest, starts to go for the heartlight. THWOOK! Heel to the cheek, sends me coughing up blood onto the robot's pretty new blue paint job. Finally, I can spray enough blood and suck in enough oxygen to scream, "Three more!" and the people in the training booth start to think i'm having a psychotic breakdown."Three more!"Just for good measure. While the sound of Vahki moving forward isn't the nicest thing I wanted to hear, it was enough: the Rank 1 turned, and I took the advantage to deliver a hard kick to the knee, separating the right leg from the body. The disabled Vahki tumbles to the ground, and I put my foot through its head and sprint towards the other three. The one on the left delivered a hard kick to the abdomen, sending me crashing into the Vahki in the center. I could almost feel the cold metal snaking up my bare arms and neck as it put me in a headlock. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the enforcers enjoyed slamming their fists into my face and abdomen, and didn't stop enjoying it until the blood stopped flowing.-Teezy

IC: Truahkia / Coliseum"Very well, but we'll need to find out who's going, and construct a plan of entry. If we send in trained Rahi feeding information over via Telepathy, we can see what's going on in there and get an estimate at the numbers before sending the first group of scouts. That incident in Ko-Metru with the flying Knowledge Tower could have been avoided if we had thought it through more.""And if we can find out who's in charge of the tunnel group, I can have them back to you before the missions completion for interrogation. IC: Lhikan (Coliseum)"Agreed," Lhikan dipped another nod at his fellow Toa of Fire, irked at himself for not knowing the names of all his soldiers. "This is war, we are treating it as such. Since we do not have the resources to keep the tunnels under constant surveillence, we will go through with this." He turned and headed for the stadium seats, running tactics and available Toa through his mind. He would let the Turaga organize the Ko-Metru Knowledge Tower scouting.IC: Inéha (Onu-Metru, SouthCentral)Nodding and nodding, she took a deep breath, summoning her Psionics powers, and wrapping the Toa of Sonics in an invisible loop of it, from waist to ankles, and it linked her muscle movements to his, so as she moved, he did as well, but he hovered several inches off the ground. It was a neat trick she'd learned while training. She turned in a circle to get a view of all the Toa around her. She ended facing the Coliseum."We need to go. We can't waste any more time." And without waiting to see if they were following her, she set out at a brisk trot for the skyscraper Coliseum that dominated the skyline.

IC: Truahkia / Coliseum"A Mask of Rahi Control, or simple mental domination with psionics, works wonders. While we might not be able to find Psionics users for both missions, we can have a Komau or Rahi Control mask employed along with a Suletu to see through their eyes. Showoff.IC: Nidhiki (Training Room, Coliseum)After ten minutes, the Vahki finally powered down, and I walked to the bathroom to shower off and try to wipe the blood away. My eyes bored like lasers into the mirror, staring past the Volitak, into the desperately handsome face, the nose that was slightly crooked from being broken three times in the last six months, the deep, purple bags under the eyes because of sleeping three hours every night for years on end. Then, as it always did, my gaze made its way down to the small compartment I had hollowed out under this particular mirror, and the small, red shard that rested inside of it. Still safe and sound."Don't you go running away on me, now," I said to the shard of the Nui Stone. "That would be bad for everybody."-Teezy
