  1. I liked them, although I can't say they were great. But it was nice to see . I honestly didn't see the ending coming, and it seems to imply
  2. Also Keetongu dedicated his life to cure the Hordika venom before going to Metru Nui. I like to think he managed to save quite a few Rahi, considering he was always hot on the horde's trail.
  3. To be honest, Helryx could defeat any other Toa, including the Nuva, with her experience alone. As we see with the Toa Metru, they temporarily ran out of power because they didn't knew how to properly control it. Meanwhile, she summoned a tidal wave big enough to sink a fleet with barely any effort. It would have been interesting to see a duel between Helryx and Tuyet, though.
  4. Acording to BS01, the Skull Grinder did create them: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Skull_Scorpio#cite_note-bio-27-07-2015-1 Give Kulta some credit, he did his best with what he had. Mainly because Bonelink doesn't ship to Okoto.
  5. For G1, the story, if anything because of it's nostalgic value. For G2, the sets, unless the story (hopefully) gets better.
  6. I'll be honest, wherever or not Bionicle continues goes on, I'll still have to buy them from the internet at triple the price because they no longer distribute them in México, so overall, still sucks for me. But more story will be nice, though.
  7. Exactly, and the Toa Nuva still had their Toa Power after completing their destiny. I mean, there wasnt any point in the story at all when the Toa Nuva ever used their Toa Power. Indeed. If I recall correctly, in the event they became Turaga, they woul've been like Turaga Nuva, with Nuva Noble masks and a bit more elemental power than a normal Turaga. I honestly think it really doesn't have much to do with ethics, but rather if they are even able to do that at all. Considering Lhikan is a pretty old Toa, one would asume that the knowledge of using a Toa stone as a backup supply is something he would have learned in his travels. Something like that would have been particulary useful in the war against the dark hunters.
  8. Onua, because he is lazy, snores, speaks in mostly one liners and hates labyrinths like me In all seriousness, since I have only seen the animations and Journey to One, my favorite is Umarak. Of all the villans so far, he is the most competent in the sense that he actually beats the Toa to the mask. He is also not a simple drone of Makuta: He agrees to serve him, but not necesarily show him the utmost respect, and even in the end he tries to betray him only to end as his minions. Overall, I see him a s a guy who wants freedom: he wishes to plunge Okoto into darkness so nothing can endanger him, hence why he hunts the elemental creatures; being as old as he was, he probably knows about the mask of control and agrees to serve Makuta so he can get the mask for himself.
  9. Toa can choose to stay as Toa after completing their destinies if they stil have Toa Energy inside of them. Keep in mind that the only on screen transfomation from Toa to Turaga is with the Toa Metru, whom used their Toa Energy to reawaken the dormant Matoran (considering there were roughtly a thousand of them, it is safe to asume they used all of their energy on that task). At the same time they fullfilled thier destiny, saving the heart of Metru Nui. Before going back to rescue the Matoran, the Toa Metru created six Toa stones and hid them so a new generation of heroes could rise if they failed. By the "horrocrux" logic you proposed, there was no real reason for them not to retrive those stones and become Toa again, especially since Makuta was going to torment them for the next thousand years. Granted, they being possibly the shortest-lived Toa team, they might have never found out if such thing was posible.
  10. I think it will depend of how well G2 turns out to be. If it only lasts 3 years, I don't see ir coming back in at least other 5 years, and even that would depend on if anyone still remembers it.
  11. Drowning in the sorrow of not being able to just walk out to the store and get me some Bionicle, I began thinking of the time I attempted to complete my G1 collection. My very first buy after the Glatorians, one set I desired from the very year I started to like Bionicle: This set was Keetongu. When the 2005 titans came out I didn't have money to buy them. I got both Sidorak and Roodaka for Día de Reyes and my birthday respectively, but Keetongu always stood as the first of my ever growing list of sets I couldn't get at the time. It was only two years ago, searching for Bionicle in MercadoLibre, that I finally came across him: withouth it's box or booklet, but in near perfect condition. I immediatly bought him. When it finally arrived it was disassembled, so with the help of online instruction I experienced a mix of past and future, the joy and nostalgia of putting together a new set and the relief that comes with the closing of a long cycle. Have you guys experienced something like this? Do you have a set you wanted but couldn't get at the time of its release and got later?
  12. The Toa Mata and Nuva. Since I got into Bionicle in 2005, the first Toa looked pretty stiff and because I didn't follow their story for three years, it didn't interest me as much as the Hordika's struggles. But after reading about them in the space between the Piraka and the Inika, I cape to like them. Many years after I got my hands on Lewa Mata and found it quite fun in spite of the lack of articulations. Also Gadunka, when I saw the images I thought it was just a head with limbs attached o it, but after buying him he became one of my favorite titans.
  13. I believe it will continue, it's very likely Lego already has plans for 2017 and it would be more costly to dump them rather than releasing them to se what happens. I can only hope it will do well enough so it can go on for at least 3 other years
  14. Mask packs, like so: A "mold mask" with one particular mold in red, blue, black, brown, green, white, silver and gold or a "color pack" with that year's masks in one color. A larger netflix series: 12 22-minute long episodes released either one each month or six from January to March and six from July to September. A winter wave with Toa as mediuom/large sets an villagers as small sets. Actually being able to buy them in my country.
  15. Honestly, I hope it continues, just to see where these characters will end up. Sadly, that depends on the sets and how well they are doing, which according to reports, it could be much better. Hopefully they can craft a much more proactive media campaign to spike interest.
  16. Well, in terms of both the strenght of their enemies and what they ultimately acomplished with their battle, the Nuva's battle in the Codrex is my pick. Not only are they fighting eight elite Makuta, some of the most powerful beings in the universe, but they managed to survive long enough to awaken Mata Nui (Granted, the Makuta's were mostly holding back due to their leader's plan). Taking into account how they won that battle but Teridax ultimatly completed his plan of taking over tMata Nui's awoken body, they suffered a hard blow, having their destiny turned into something evil. A runner up is the Battle for Metru Nui, five Toa Hordika, Keetongu and their Rahaga allies vs. the Visorak army numbered in the thousands. Let's not forget that a Hordika has lesser acces to their power than regular Toa and their leader had allied with the enemy. Even with Sidorak killed and the army disbanded, Teridax was freed to proceed with his master plan.
  17. She never did lame puns & the other toa weren't allowed to be funny. The only funny moment in the animation was Kopaka slipping & even then, he didn't really suffer any misfortune or injure himself, so it wasn't funny. I just rewatched espidoe 14 of the web series, she mumbled something about "asking the neighbours for directions" in the graveyard. Not necesarily a pun, but I think is the only bit of that trait we got, sadly.
  18. If they are like me when I was a kid, if I just handed my collection to them I would never see it again. I would still show them the media, though, maybe they'd find something to like. I would have them on display, only talking about them if they showed interest. If by some miracle Bionicle exist when they are old enough I would but one for them and one for me, if they are interested.
  19. On the villans side, anyone that's not Makuta or Umarak the Hunter. On the heroe's side, Gali, they won't even let her do lame puns anymore...
  20. None, because it's very likely they won't sell them in my country. As for what sets I plan to get from this summer to the end of the year, with a little luck I might be able to complete last years wave.
  21. Even if they made a "dumb gritty adult reboot", if it had left behind the G1 story, I would still want the original story to have a good conclusion. But in the end, G2 is here to (hopefully) stay, and with it getting better as time goes on, I'd rather prefer to enjoy it while it lasts.
  22. Hey I started the topic because I saw NOTHING showing the bright side to Bionicle's return. So I created the topic to hear what people liked about it.(we all have already heard the bad things ten million times) I know, and I also commented what I liked there. It's just thati feel you can't have the positives without the negatives. But I think it was a mistake from my part when writing my comment: What really creeped me out was some comment (I can't really remember if it was on this topic or another) about "social ingeneering" the communty to show a more positive face. As a historian I can quote endless examples of it not working or being just plain unethical.
  23. I know, right? You'd think they'd use it as a hub for the Latin American market, which by the sound of what you're telling me, it may not be too big, sadly. Unfortunately, I don't see Lego suddenly changing their minds. They've brought the Nexo Knights, but as far as I know, they're not doing very well.
  24. I wouldn't call the G1 story finished, it just ended kind of meh and dragged on until it stopped in the middle of some big revelations. Even if I chose to consider the 2010 story as the end and disregard the rest, it still feels like a subpar ending after almost ten years of story. Maybe it makes me sound "super entitled", but that doesn't change the fact that I feel that way. Feelings don't have to be rational, they just get rationalized. Regardless of it being a children toyline, the story influenced me deeply. This "It's for childen" argument never makes sense to me. Also, I'm not condemnig anyone. I'm only explaining why I think people who prefer G1 and don't like G2 feel that way. I personally like both stories and hope that G2 can stand proudly along it's previous incarnations.
  25. I can only speak for myself on that subject, I honestly don't mind seen angry people, is better than the "only talking about the positives" thing... so creepy. Also I want to add that the story so far has only disappointed me less and less, so I can't really get angry about that. The main thing that has made me angry since the end of 2015 is that Lego hasn't brought the Bionicle sets to México. Honestly, is horrible. I have to pay at least double the price to get them. Kind of ironic as one of the fabrics is in Monterrey. But on the other side, I kinda see why: Lego is just too expensive for the average Mexican citizen. Sure, the price doesn't spike too much when they're sold here, but if your salary is minimum wage, as it would be for a History college student, toys like that are a luxury. At least in my area I've still seen old sets from three years ago. Bionicle sets are either uot of sale in my closests Wall-Mart, or either hidden behind the Ninjago stes or utterly ignored in the farthest ones.Perhaps the most insulting thing to me was having the 2015 summer cataloge, seeing that it included three of the five sets and hoping I would at least get those (BTW they also only brought four of the Protectors, so I already felt somewhat sad and angry that I couldn't complete the winter wave as soon as posible), but nope! No sign of them. Then, they come up on MercadoLibre (kind of like the Latin American Ebay) at triple the price. I had to pay five times the price of the Protector of Jungle because literaly it was the cheapest option! And so here I am, saving money for the Protector of Stone (again, I will have to pay five times the price) and hopefully the 2015 summer sets (at around three times the price). My only solace is that the 2016 sets are at only double the price. And before anyone suggest to me getting an Eaby account and ship them from Europe, I can't. A credit card needes for paypal and the subsequent price of that is really not something feasable for me. Also the international shipping fees add up a lot to the cheapest offers. I would get a passport and go to El Paso to buy them myself, but the trip across half of México is too expensive (I can't take a plane because I have aviophobia) so in the end the cheapest and more secure way for me to get the sets is buying them from frontieer scalpers who get them cheap across the border and resell them here. Sorry if my post is hard to understand, is not easy filtering all the curses. I'll try to explain in more detail if anyone is interested.
