  1. The thing is, Video Games can be just as terrible as movies and books in the violence area. It's up to each individual person to decide if they want to play something like that. If you feel like a violent game will effect you, or it makes you nervous or you feel like your conscious bothers you by playing those games, then by all means you shouldn't play something like that, and it's understandable.

And while violence in video games as you mentioned can have weighty decisions behind them, making the player think and bring important parts to the story, there are equally, video games that feature senseless violence and extreme gore, that CAN effect people. Regardless of whether it's fiction or not, some people can be effected by such things, which is why a lot of people are worried about kids playing them.

It's not like people just suddenly decided to attack video games and place all the blame on them for violence in the world, and if they do, that's pretty unjustified. But it is safe to say, that just like violent books or movies, these kind of things can effect the people reading and watching them...

But it's a torn issue and I'm kind of on both sides.

  2. Thank you. THANK YOU. THAAAANK YOU.

Finally, someone who gets it. JV, totally, 100% agree with you on almost everything. You've written a great review here, but thank you for getting that this movie fell short on a LOT of things. It's just a good action movie, period. It doesn't really get who Superman is, and falls short on ALL of his relationships and WHY he wants to be who he is.

We've had talks before, I'm a Batman fan first, but I had HIGH hopes for Superman because I respect and appreciate what he represents and what he stands for. But this movie just didn't do it for me at all.

Everyone I know has been saying this is a great film, and I just can't see why. It's just a CGI action movie featuring a guy who looks like Superman. >=/

(I will admit, I thought the actors weren't bad and the action was fun. Story, character development and ...even fresh action scenes, all were lame.)

  3. OoT is standalone, with a few notes from previous games.

    Just know:

    Triforce is most powerful object

Master Sword is used by the Hero

    Zelda is a princess

Besides that, basically everything is new and will be explained storywise. If you've never played OoT, you're in for a total treat. One of the best games ever made. Wonderful story and characters.

  4. I got the 3DS before having a DS, so I was able to get in on all the cheaper games that are still great. Zelda, Professor Layton, Metroid, Mega Man Zero Collection was nice... you can also get older Pokemon games and Mario games there are plenty.

As for 3DS games, Monster Hunter Tri, Fire Emblem: Awakening (a MUST), Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 3D Land, newest Harvest Moon got great reviews... Also Animal Crossing is out, plus Pokemon... it can only get better.

Finally there's a ton of stuff on the virtual console for any older (and newer) games you want... Really been digging into that.

Glad I got it. In fire red. ;D

  5. I'm just going to say, there was once this animated movie about Superman and Batman. I can't remember what they were doing, but both characters got into an argument about the case, and both were meeting each other for the first time. When Superman learns that Batman is someone who goes around the law to get the job done, he at first sees him as a villain, and punches him, slamming the bat into the wall.

Batman gets up a little, Superman approaches. Batman holds his head cause he's a little dizzy, maybe a little concerned at the power of this guy.

Then he reaches into his utility belt, and takes out the smallest plastic bag, that holds a very small piece of Kryptonite.

    Superman backs away, defeated.

Batman says, "It doesn't take much, does it?"
