  1. i honestly have no favourites here. i've never played any of the handheld games, and between the two console games neither really jumps out at me as being definitely better. they were both pretty bland.
  2. happy birthday Bink ! i don't think it'd be wrong to say that the entire Bionicle fandom appreciates the work you've done.
  3. i've kept just about every bit of packaging, save a canister label here or there. this is really not a good idea but i did it anyway because sentimental value, collectors value, etc etc etc
  4. everyone's talking about Takanuva replacing Matoro, but honestly i don't even see Takanuva as part of the Toa Nuva anymore - he's really more of a freelance Toa; kind of his own thing now. if he ever did join the Mahri it likely wouldn't be as an official member.
  5. it is a mystery.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq3abPnEEGE
  6. i think there's a rule about not listing off all the ranks/rank images, with the reasoning that it ruins the fun for people working their way up, which i can understand. still, i wish there was a compilation of them somewhere too, trust me.
  7. if you're looking for a good read, don't go with Encyclopedia Updated. it's nice for reference, but that's about it - and only up through 2007. i'd go with World if i were you, as it's written from an interesting perspective and has a ton of neat backstory. Rahi Beasts and Dark Hunters are alright, but most of the models in them are nothing to look at.
  8. Until Orkahm in 2004, the McToran Kongu was the only Le-Matoran set. i think he means that he wishes there had been a Kongu set in 2003. (and i have to say i agree. Kongu and Tamaru would have been much better choices than Matoro and Kopeke....)
  9. You can paint it, tho I have no Idea how to do this. I always wanted a 2003 Kongu. painting is also an option. it's a bit more fragile as far as retaining the colour goes, though. if you're interested in painted pieces, you should look up Modalt; they take requests. totally not a shameless plug. anyway, maybe we should steer away from part recolouring and back on topic to the McToran.
  10. one can dye pieces. i have no clue how, but i'm pretty sure there was a topic on here about it a few months back....
  11. Well, those six plus Hafu, who was included in the BIONICLE Power Pack, and Nuparu, who came in the Boxor. It's a shame that you can't build every character that appeared on the 2002 Matoran page on BIONICLE.com. Besides those that came as sets, Kapura, Hahli, Kopeke, and Taipu are all buildable as 2001 or 2003 Matoran, but Tamaru is not buildable in any official form since his torso and arms should be Bright Bluish Green and his legs Bright Yellowish Green, and Kotu is not buildable because there is no official Bright Blue Kanohi Rau. ah yeah, true. and you have no idea how much i wish i could build a McToran Tamaru. no idea. i may even resort to dyeing pieces at some point to accomplish it.
  12. that's true; thus 'semi-canon'. although i'm definitely of the group who accept it as full canon, heh.
  13. there's images of a number of Matoran in 2001 style who never actually got released in that form - not just Takua and Hahli. only the six from the McDonalds promotion were ever actually released that way, though.
  14. the only official Bionicle media that is semi-canon are the movies and games. everything else, including all fan created stories/characters/etc, is 100% canon. for better or for worse. the novelizations of the movies are, however, canon. if you want a full chronological list of Bionicle media (that's chronological in the in-universe sense), look here. if you want it done by publication date, i'm afraid i can't help you. i do recommend reading them all in order of publication, though, so if you're willing to put the effort into figuring out that order, definitely go with that.
  15. Toxic Reapa comes with six of the smallest size HF armour in trans-neon lime, lime skeleton joints, and a trans-neon orange single-socket (hand) piece. (i also bought it for the large quantity of black armour.) oh, and transparent green flames. yeah.
  16. trans = transparent. TNGM = transparent neon green Miru.
  17. yeah, but can't you kill time in a different place so as not to be off topic? as a matter of fact, i'm off topic right now too, so i'm gonna leave
  18. you guys are getting kind of off topic here..make that really off topic
  19. It's hard to not notice that kind of thing. Even if he couldn't feel the weight of an extra metal plate attached to his face (granted, if anyone would miss something like that, it would be him), someone else would have told him (it would be visible near his chin and in between the spikes on the top of the Avohkii). it might be easy to notice that you're wearing two masks, but apparently it's not quite so easy to notice when someone's made a joke about wearing two masks. :b
  20. new headcanon: Takanuva wears a great Pakari underneath the Avohkii. he has no idea that it's there.
  21. i own two Toxic Reapas and two Thornraxxes. names aside (although i believe Thornraxx was nicknamed Matt by a BZP reviewer. thats a nice name) they're some of the best HF purchases i've made.
  22. the tumblr portion of the fandom has basically already decided on Chroniclers, so i'd go with that. hey. chill. how on earth would a fandom name ruin Bionicle ?
  23. The LEGO Group was vehemently anti-war in their subject matter. The original Castle set was yellow specifically because Godtfred Kirk Christiansen was worried that if you gave kids grey bricks they would use them to make tanks. Honestly, some of their more recent themes HAVE come very close to including war-related content, specifically in the Indiana Jones theme and some other licensed themes. But the LEGO Group has never made a modern, real-world war the focus of a set or theme, just its context. If Lego is vehemently anti-war, I'm wondering, why did they produce 2 models of the Sopwith camel, a WWI war plane? Additionally, if that was okay, why would they have a problem with WWII? selling a model of a military plane without any visible weaponry on it is very different from selling a line of sets that feature small, people-like figures reenacting the biggest war in history.
  24. good points. i always forget about that population statistic....or maybe i just choose to ignore it. it seems really small to me - 6,000 or something similar would make a bit more sense.
  25. i'm not a Ninjago fan in any way, but honestly, i kind of want this. i've seen bits of the show, and Dareth is great. ..at the very least it might make a nice christmas present for my little brother
