Would you buy Bionicle Funko Pop Vinyl figures?
jed1ndy replied to Blastcage's topic in Bionicle Discussion
I might. I don't think it's a good idea to begin with, as (like others have said) figurines that represent other figures that are buildable and more poseable seems to undermine the vinyl figure's purpose to me; but if they did release, I can't say I wouldn't buy at least one. If LEGO decided to do something with Funko Pop!, I think minifigures would be more fitting. -

Happy Birthday, and thanks for everything you've done!

Never forget those 2,958 innocent people who tragically lost their life just 15 years ago. May they rest in piece.

I have to agree with Terrorsaur on the fact that this is the most interesting. There's so much going on in the Ice Region, since there is barely any cooperation between the different houses, Definitely excited for the rest!

Anything like Lego Digital Designer for BIONICLE?
jed1ndy replied to Denisowator's topic in Bionicle Discussion
As far as I'm aware, a program like that doesn't exist at the moment, unfortunately. I would personally recommend downloads LDD and getting a Bricklink account. LDD has a better selection of BIONICLE parts than it used to, and then you can buy the parts you need on Bricklink. That being said, LDD still only has a portion of classic BIONICLE's part selection, but I hope this helps regardless. -
Happy birthday!

How do you pronounce these BIONICLE names?
jed1ndy replied to jed1ndy's topic in Bionicle Discussion
I should have clarified this earlier, but the "dz" is supposed to represent the standard English pronunciation of the letter "j", [dʒ], not the actual phonetic [dz]. I should have used either "dg" or "zh," that was my mistake, but I hope that clarifies that last choice. Sorry about the confusion. -
I know for a fact that this has been asked before, but I would like to know myself: How do you pronounce these names from BIONICLE? I personally (try to) pronounce the names in as close proximity to their language of origin. So, I pronounce "Lewa" as "LEH-wah" and "Onewa" as "OH-neh-wah". I actually don't know what language Jaller's original name was derived from, so while I generally pronounce it "DZAH-lah", I will occasionally switch to "YAH-lah". I also want to know if there are any other names that you pronounce differently from the norm. For example, I pronounce Whenua's name as "ɸEH-noo-wah" rather than "WEH-noo-wah", since that is the original Māori pronunciation. EDIT: The "dz" is supposed to represent the standard pronunciation of the letter "j" in English.

I doubt that BIONICLE is returning. The fact that it (assumingly) sold so poorly that it was cancelled even before the planned 3 years were finished means that even if LEGO wanted to bring it back, retailers probably wouldn't stock it due to fear of losing money. I might want to see BIONICLE come back, I'm honestly somewhat impartial to the idea. If it is brought back, that's great; more opportunities for great new sets and the possibility of a new story. But if it isn't brought back, that's still fine; we already have some pretty excellent sets, and for one of them, we got a story that while flawed was unlike anything LEGO had made before or debatably since. I don't believe LEGO said that would definitely bring back BIONICLE in the future, just that it isn't a theme that's been permanently retired. It's not that they will bring it back, but that they can bring it back.

If I remember correctly, I believe Deevee was sent some prototype parts by LEGO a few days before New York Comic Con, the most interesting of which was the Bright Red/Trans Neon Orange dual blended 2015 Tahu mask. Besides that, the NYCC parts might be prototypes, as the masks were apparently looser than the final versions; but I may be mistaken on both of these things.

Actually, I can play (even though I had thought otherwise). Spot 10, if you would be so kind. Sorry about the trouble.

Never mind.

Good game, guys. I was surprised that the entirety of the village voted for Unit this round; since at that point, everyone in Day 2 had their roles revealed, save him. (I was the Energy Slizer, btw)

Yeah, those are hands, like everyone else has said. From what I can tell, they're actually leftovers from the original Voodoo Heads concept. You can't see this in the prototype models, but on the finalized model on the box from the Faber video, you can see that the axles included were originally 6 or 8 modules long, and they would've been used to rip off the heads off of your opponent. That's why the smaller models without functions all had them; they were tools. The larger models in the videos, such as the "Axe" character that was the first shown in the video, don't have those on their arms.
-
Yeah, those are all really helpful; I'll probably pick up some of those sets soon and re-watch the show! Thanks!

I personally think that Tahu/Ikir is probably the best set of Uniters and Creatures, with Lewa/Uxar coming in a close second. Ikir really fills up what Tahu's missing in his original set, the gold mask looks the best on him than anyone else, and overall I just think he looks the most impressive in United form compared to everyone else. That being said, I think Onua is the best Uniter on his own (with an abundance of Trans-Purple and probably the most balanced color-scheme out of everyone) and that Akida is the best Creature (with his/her unique build creating something that more closely what his/her animal is supposed to be than anyone else's.) I only own Lava Beast, so I don't really think I can weigh in on that aspect, but just for looking at images, I think that it's a close tie with me between Lava and Storm. Both Umaraks are the best sets overall this year, as everyone else has already said. I only have Hunter, but his great design and unique color scheme, as well as just overall appearance really stand out over all the other sets I own. I would definitely picking him up if you can.

I felt as though everything presented, while just rumors, still wouldn't be enough to prove that the line was a complete disaster and wouldn't be continued to it's third year. The fact that it had 3 years planned at the very least indicated to me that the line would continue at least until that wrapped up, so I felt that the shelves filled with precious-waves' sets didn't indicate the poor sales of the line as well as it did.

Thoughts on Gen 2 Bionicle Mobile Games
jed1ndy replied to Toa Smoke Monster's topic in Bionicle Discussion
While I've only played Mask of Creation, I would generally recommend it if you like BIONICLE. They aren't my favorite, and are rather simplistic, but I think they work well enough. (At least, Creation does. I would imagine that Control would be similar to Creation, so I would recommend that as well.)- 7 replies
