  1. I like it, to an extent. Canon is helpful because it's common ground for the fans, but at some point it becomes inhibitive to headcanon. Of course, what that point is varies for everyone. I think they'd have to go far past Kanohi to reach it for me, but as others have made clear, they feel we have already past it. This is why I so strongly support an unspecified option, on all polls - those who prefer things left alone deserve a chance to say so before they feel it gets stuffed down their throats.
  2. It might be unnecessary, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't happen. Since you describe it as so irrelevant, why do you care that we're doing this? If you do as you say that you do, this would have no importance to you. I was presenting what others seem to think (and not nearly as eloquently as they), not nessecarlily what I think. I actually really like the Kanohi polls. (Weapon is pushing it though.)
  3. There are a lot of agruments about it in a couple of other threads on S&T lately, I suggest you take a look at those. It seems to be that it's cramming a dead storyline with unnessecary details, some of which adversely affect their headcanon. I personally think that there does need to be an 'unspecified' or 'I don't want it known' option on these polls. As to how to do this, I suggest a separate question on the poll: 'Do you want these Kanohi specified, or not?' with only two mutually exclusive answers: yes and no. If no wins, then we disregard the Kanohi choices and canonize nothing.
  4. I don't want to seem like I'm pushing my own agenda, but unspecified should really be on the poll. It was formally seconded twice and I think it's reasonable to assume all the people who have spoken out against canonizations would probably like it as well.
  5. That's because Mr Geardirector is an Illuminati, and this thread is coming dangerously close to revealing the truth of his plans and he wants to derail it. But we stopped him. Pastafarianism.
  6. It would be quite an interesting culture. As mentioned, kohlii would be our national sport. I also think we might see a theatre with regular showings of fanfictions adapted into plays, possibly somethimes movies (but plays are easier.) There would be a University of Bionicle, divided into the College of MOCing, College of Storyline, College of Art, maybe a College of Fanfiction (to train the aformentioned writers.) The center of the city would be a forum (an actual physical forum! ) in which would be art galleries, MOC galleries, the theatre, and a library containing a donated (by the inhabitants) copy of every Bionicle book, comic, etc. We'd probably have statues, sculpted by our artisans, of Bionile characters throughout the city, maybe little plaques dedicating them to something or other (probably Greg.) Of all of these, Matoro's would be the most revered. Those of Water characters would be in fountains. The city would be quite beautiful, actually, given the talent some of us would bring to or accrue upon the island. For government, I think we'd be small enough to go for a direct democracy, with an assembly and all that, but presided over by the wisest of the fandom, which would probably roughly correspond to the staff members of this and other fansites. There would be a different assembly, maybe in the College of Storyline, in which the citizens gather to debate the storyline issues of the day (probably the Kanohi and weaponry of the other Toa Mangai.) Greg may or may not live upon the island with us. If not, we would probably send an elite force to kidnap him and bring him home. Yeah... not really as fun as giant robots, but that's what I think would realistically happen in a best-case scenario. Less than best-case and we'd probably all die.
  7. Support an 'unspecified' option on canonization polls!

  8. To a point, it's good. The Toa of The Green is a good example, I think. Now that there's a canon Toa of The Green, a fanfiction about him would be much more accessable than without a canon Toa of The Green. It feels more real because we all know there was really a Toa of The Green. But get too much past that, and canon becomes a burden to the writer. If he's canonized to have a Fikou Weapon, then a fanfiction writer has to explain just what a Fikou Weapon is, what it does, why he has one. Or a more extreme (ridiculous) example: if someone gets Greg to canonize a daily routine for him, then that would be severly inhibiting to any sort of story about his life, since it would have to work into that routine or justify the exception. So it really only hampers the fanbase. (Also, 'ignore it' is not entirely impossible. There's a good percentage of the fanbase that headcanons Huki and Maku, and most of the others will at least understand the concept, even if they disagree with it. True, this won't work for most things, but I'm just pointing out that it can happen, to an extent.)
  9. Well, it's all we have left for G1, and I think it's pretty cool getting new information, like the Toa Cordak's team name. There are points when it gets inhibitive, however. For example, if the Toa of The Green's weapon is canonized, it might make it tougher to make a creative and well-designed MOC of him.
  10. Gadunka (dunkadunadunka!) Or the 300-foot venom eel. Threatened to destroy himself and his comrades to defeat Irnakk.
  11. Granted, but my mind isn't *explodes* I wish my mind hadn't exploded.
  12. How about we include 'unspecified' as an option on the poll? That way those who would prefer to leave it unknown have a chance to say so. (I'm on the fence myself.)
  13. Chirox. Broke the Makoki Stone into six pieces.
  14. Granted, no one with the username The_Next_Person replies. I wish this wish was metaphorical.
  15. Granted, but it melts you. I wish we really all did live in a yellow submarine.
  16. Oh, but what about weather control? "I think tomorrow should be a snow day..." Don't Alterdax's Rahkshi have lighter variants of Teridax's, since he has no inner shadow? I'd kind of like Anger's inverse (peace?).
  17. We know for certain Lego had at least a vague idea of bringing it back later when the cancelled it in 2010, since their reason for doing so was they didn't want it to be remembered badly. That only really matters to them if in the future they return it, right? I never really doubted it would be back eventually, what is surprising is how soon it is back. (BTW PaleoTiatan, you should probably put the offer to teach Romanian in your signature. )
  18. As much as I'd like a Mask of Healing, I think it's going to lose to the Kanohi No-Masks-From-This-Selection. Everyone voted for that one multiple times. I agree with the medic concept - note also that it is said the Toa of The Green resided in Ga-Metru later, and Ga-Matoran are the other type of Matoran mentioned as good healers. As a renowned medic, he'd fit right in. If we vote on Kanohi for the other Toa, I'm giving Rahi Control to Earth - think how useful that would be in the Archives.
  19. Vezon, what would happen if you hollowed out a planet? Would gravity pull to the center or the walls from the inside?
  20. Granted, but you corrupted it anyways. I wish Kanohi were real and humans could use them.
  21. When I was building the Axalara I used a longer Technic beam than I was supposed to for something. I didn't notice until I needed the part many steps later and had an extra shorter beam. By then it had been encapsulated inside the Axalara... getting it out was not fun.
  22. I'm thinking we need at least orange. I never liked the darker colors too much, though, since they don't light up as nicely as the lighter ones.
  23. Granted, but vicious aliens own it. I wish it was snowing.
