  1. Would I be free to upload these sheets, then, or should I track down the creators and ask their permission first? I don't want to get into any trouble, just to preserve the sprites. EDIT: The people on TSR say I should ask permission first, so if anyone can help me contact the creators of old sprite kits it'd be very helpful. I'll start pestering Soran and T1S first. EDIT 2: T1S gave me permission to upload his Okotomation kit. The sheets are pending approval right now. In the meantime I'm still looking for sheets (if nothing else, I'm backing them up on my PC) so keep 'em coming!
  2. Hey, new tunes to listen to right as classes are starting back up. Thanks!
  3. I wonder how long it's going to take people before they hack it. ...probably a couple weeks =P
  4. I'm not sure where this should go, so the mods can move it where they will. https://www.spriters-resource.com/ So this is a website where people post sprite sheets they've ripped from games. The range is huge. There are sprites from the NES, from shooters like Doom, from adventures like Deponia, hundreds upon hundreds of sprites. Also (and core to my suggestion here) the website serves as a repository for custom sprite sheets. You can look up, for example, "Metroid Customs" or "Pokemon Customs" to find sprite sheets not from any one particular game, but created by fans for other people to use as they will. I know that people on BZP have created dozens of sprite 'kits' for use with comics. However, many of the links to these old kits lead me to 404 error pages. I suspect the pages have been deleted from BZP forever. However, I would like to propose starting a page on The Spriter's Resource to hold these sprite kits - call it, maybe, "Bionicle Customs". This would have the twofold advantage of both preserving the sprite kits both on TSR and BZP, and collecting them all in one place so someone looking for sprites doesn't have to rummage through the bowels of the forum to find them. In short: what do you all think of this idea?
  5. I don't know what this means, but I wish I did. Mata Nui Online Game reference, specifically a Po-Koronan Koli spectator who is upset that there are no more pies left. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7863sQWxf-xUm1oYjg4WFBkQzQ No, I did not tinker with my copy of MNOG in any way, shape, or form
  6. We're always glad to have new recruits! My apologies for not seeing this sooner. As for the videos, if they're not directly LEGO-related, we really can't put them on the channel, unless you covered a LEGO game of some kind. We also have a strict set of guidelines for what can and cannot get on the channel, and anything presented must be thoroughly reviewed first. PM me if you want more info. ~Ghiddy Okay, good to know. I was kindof thinking, for each video, have a MOC of something iconic in-game, but that'd hardly be making the videos directly LEGO-related. I guess I'll just watch for now, I'm not sure what I could contribute to the Force. Yet.
  7. Simultaneously, the release of the art book last month was both the best and worst moment for me. The best because it was beautiful art full of beautiful ideas and made me think Gen2 wasn't so bad after all. The worst because now Gen2 is dead and none of those ideas will ever show up in the wild. Bittersweet, y'know?
  8. Did you ever play that Spybotics flash game, The Nightfall Incident? That's what this reminds me of. It looks like one of the netmap icons, like a cross between the Cellular Automata and the Pharmaus ones. Man, I love that game. If you're going for a cyberpunk feel, I think you nailed it.
  9. Sometimes being a nerd means being incomprehensible to everybody else. So maybe the GBs were the Glatorian equivalent of nerds. Maybe they had the Glatorian equivalent of autism, maybe they preferred to think instead of fight. Maybe creation was their outlet, and knowing from experience autists' struggles to express themselves, they poured everything they had into that outlet. There's still a lot of room for maybes. That's just my personal theory.
  10. Is it just me or does the mace-helm kindof look like the Mask of Ultimate Power? Anyway, nice MOC, I think my favorite parts are the legs and boots. Also, cool how you gave him a hood.
  11. I second this to a great extent. Why didn't they show... any of this? Why no pictures at all of the villages except the snippets of box art? Why no sketches for Rahi? Why no alternate mask designs for the Protectors or villagers? They obviously had the material, why did they handicap themselves so badly by not bringing it out? This is the kind of stuff that would've gotten me much more interested in Gen2! And all we saw of it were some wallpapers, some 90-second cartoons, and a few Netflix episodes. *siiiiiiigh*
  12. IC: Dedris - New Atero Outskirts Whatever train of thought I had was thoroughly derailed by the heavy series of clanks behind me. I whirled around and reached over my shoulder for my scythe's hilt, but didn't whip it out. Yet. What did I tell you, what did I tell you... A red Jetrax now lay in the airfield between an airship and a dilapidated Rockoh model, fresh fumes floating in lazy helixes up from its engines. All truth be told, it looked like a bigger, beefier Chieftain. But where was the cockpit? With a series of sounds like an orchestra of ratchet wrenches, some... thing started to appear out of the aircraft. What was it? It almost looked like one of the Toa of old, but it couldn't have been. Was it a Dark Hunter, a big, beefy Vortixx, some Vahki come back to life? It certainly looked robotic, whatever it was. I started walking back towards the aircraft and its mysterious pilot, ready to dart behind one of the bigger craft in the field if necessary. My gas can could wait until I was sure the Chieftain was safe. OOC: Dedris approaching 042 and the other players around him. Also, CF, would you be so kind as to put your profiles in your sig? It'd make them much easier to find.
  13. The difference between Plasma and Fire is the difference between this and this. Enough said. I'm confused, you've said before that the five Asian elements are overused. Yet the only work I know of that uses those five elements is the game Freedom Planet. That's the only one among how many dozens of pieces of fiction I've read/watched/played. So why do you consider it overused?
  14. I second a Scarabax hot-air balloon to a great extent
  15. Random question, but since you seem to be following the Karda Nui vehicles at the moment, will things like Toa Ignika's rocket-board ever show up?
  16. Actually things seem pretty slow at the moment. Though I'm not sure if that's due to a lack of players, it being Christmastime, or what.
  17. Just made my first post here: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/23742-skyrise/?p=1106504 Dedris is open for interaction if anybody wants.
  18. IC: Dedris - New Atero I gripped the Chieftain's handlebars and took a deep breath. Up here the sky was still somewhat clean, but my engines were running low on fuel. I wasn't looking forward toward my descent to the dirt, so I tried to prolong it by searching for a place to land. After a few minutes of lazy circles, I spotted a field marked with a few other aircraft on the city outskirts. It'd be as good a place as any to land. With a few flicks of the dashboard switches, Chieftain's wings folded down and the landing thrusters fired as the machine floated down in front of a steel pole. After the engines shut down, I hopped off and tied Chieftain to the pole. Hopefully that would deter any would-be thieves while I found some fuel. With the military around, I shouldn't have to worry about such a stupid thing but caution never hurt. As I walked towards the gate, I tried to recall what I had to trade for fuel. Do I have any widgets? Maybe... I guess I could trade those audio circuits I found but I was going to build a sound system into the Chieftain... ah heck, there's always something broken I can fix for money. It'll work out. Always does. OOC: Dedris open for interaction (finally)
  19. If 7 is indeed the magic number: Fire, Air, Earth, Water, Lightning, Ice, Jungle. That's the set of elements I'm going with for my Malkhar world. Though for Malkhar I have Metal, Earth, and Stone all merged together into one element of Earth. Earth sortof encompasses all minerals, metallic or otherwise. I would shy away from an element of Metal or Iron in Bionicle, though, simply because everything's made out of metal and a Toa with telepathic control over it would be ludicrously overpowered. Takanuva would make a great Toa of Lightning though. Alter the Vo-colors to be gold and white (possibly blue as well, to accompany his blue Pakari). He could create blinding lightning flashes (or illusory ones), do all sorts of cool stuff with electronics, ride lightning bolts for bursts of mach speed. Maybe he could even turn into a lightning bolt himself and use it to warp through metal. That'd be awesome.
  20. Why are Ice and Water confusing? Water is the sea, rivers, geysers. Ice is snow, cold, winter. I mean, chemically they're the same thing but as separate forms of magic/elements/whatever they're vastly different. [/rant] Anyway. Maybe instead of being Stone, Pohatu could be a Toa of Dust - he could whip up sandstorms, create mirages, leech moisture out of the air and bring on heatwaves. It's kindof like Stone but I think having him as a Toa of Dust or Desert would be cool.
  21. Best upgrade in the game. Yo, remember when I made my profile and I said I might drop off the grid if classes got really hard? Yeah, that happened. But finals are (almost) over at this point so I'm going to jump in soon. I'm not dead. Just give me a while to catch up.
  22. Which one, the new one or the 1993 one? I love the old one. Not much to say about the new one, though, I don't have it and I don't particularly like what I'm seeing. Though that's just me, if you're having fun with it don't let me stop you. But yeah, the old one's great.
  23. I'd love a Lego pinball machine. I've messed around, taking a baseplate, covering it in tiles, using bricks to mark the pathways and bumpers then putting an airsoft pellet in as the ball. They could do a whole series of Lego pinball machines, each one being a replica of an existing machine.
  24. I'm not sure if I want to think about what they'll do for the 20th anniversary then...
  25. NOVA ORBIS LIVES! And another Venator. I like this one a lot, the armor design is simple but unique. And don't take this the wrong way, but she seems like a dark twisted version of Gali, with the blue and the curved scythe-like blades. I can't tell if she's supposed to be ice or water though. I mean, she's wearing a fur-lined coat. Maybe it's really cold up in Caelum, I don't know. What kind of paralysis does her mask inflict? Is it draining energy like Vorahk, a paralyzing fear like Turahk, or does it make all your muscles go dead at once?
