  1. Said edits have been made, good sir. Link because it's not worth reposting the entire thing over again.
  2. No, he's wearing a Kakama, but the only Kakamas I have are brown and burnt orange, so I just built a grey Kakama-looking head out of bricks. That's what his ludicrously oversized cranium is supposed to be.
  3. Finally done with the first version of the MOCs. I tried to fix whatever else was wrong with the profiles (the megaphone, the soldering-iron hand), but there's one thing I'm confused on. What power source do Skyfighters use? Because right now I have the Chieftain as running on some sort of electrical energy (because the Chieftain and its railgun use the same fuel). Is that fine? And in case you're confused about the pictures, the wings fold down when it's parked and spread into the X-shape in flight. So yeah, if you could look over the MOCs and the edits and see if they're to your liking, that'd be great. (also, happy Thanksgiving everyone)
  4. A Lego game that isn't Star Wars, Batman, or Lord of the Rings, on PC? I might have to check this out, hope they put up a demo.
  5. Play VNOG, try trekking across the entire island, then ask yourself that question again. This seems like the most plausible explanation. Also I beg permission to use that metaphor at the end of your post.
  6. So I hit the gold mine at the thrift store the other day and managed to snag a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved for PC, and I've been playing through the campaign. I haven't beaten it - yet. But hey, now I can buy some of those Mega Bloks sets without any shame.
  7. Any new Sonic the Hedgehog game. There's a bunch of people saying "OH IT'S FANTASTIC", a bunch of people saying "OH IT'S AWFUL" and not many people in between. There were some good parts to Gen2 - like there are good parts in the modern Sonic games - but it fails to capture what made the original material great. In the end it's a nice tribute to that original material, but it never really surpasses it. Then again, I guess you could say that about a lot of reboots. I'm in a Sonic mood at the moment.
  8. Don't take this as a complete explanation because I'm tired and I doubt I'm thinking straight at the moment, but if you're concerned please wait until I actually build MOCs. About the hovering part - Vahki can fly, right? And given Dedris' skill as a tinkerer I thought he would have found some Vahki parts lying around when the Matoran returned to Metru Nui, and reused them with a bunch of other scrap to build the Chieftain. So however it flies is however the Vahki fly. About the rest... well, I guess I need to make adjustments to the design, but I'll do that in the morning. Please mind, I'm not trying to create a whole new class here, it's just I saw the description and thought, "Oh, Skyfighters are small, light, zippy, sparse on the armor and guns - well, that sounds like the Chieftain to me!" I don't want it to be its own unique thing, I just thought that description fit it really well. But I repeat: I'm tired, Dedris has no backstory yet, and I'm going to build MOCs, so please hold off on a final judgement until I finish those.
  9. So the Skimmers from Storm Hawks Actually something more like this from the Star Trek reboot.
  10. Well, here we go on RPG number 2. Hopefully this'll end better than Bionifight. Character: Name: Dedris Omekka Species: Ta-Matoran Gender: Male Powers: Resistance to heat. Also is a genius mechanic. Gear: Protoscythe. It's a scythe blade attached to a collapsible staff, with a mounting point to hold a disk launcher. There's not much special about the scythe part, it's just a big, sharp curve of metal. The launcher has a laser sight to help aiming and needs cocked after every shot. When scythe and launcher are combined, he can swing the scythe to send the disk flying with extra power, or if he has no disk loaded, he can snatch his foe's disks out of the air. This takes a lot of skill, however the laser sight helps guide his swings. He also carries a toolbox, pack of protosteel disks, standard adventuring gear, but these stay in the Chieftain's saddlebags until needed. Personal Aircraft: The Chieftain Allegiance/Role: No real allegiance to any city. Hails from Fe, however. He's a mechanic who uses his flyer to zip out to crash sites and failing aircraft, fix what he can, and help people evacuate if necessary. Appearance: Metruan build, dark red body, grey limbs and a powerless Great Kakama. Pictures: 1 2 3 Personality: Dedris rarely works for money. If anything, he'll take a few widgets to pay for a night at the local inn and a charge for the Chieftain. If you really want to thank him, though, offer him some neat pieces of scrap. He loves tinkering and is a genius with anything mechanical or electronic. He worked as a Crafter on Metru Nui, a blacksmith on Mata Nui, and before the cataclysms, he studied in Fe as an engineer. His Skyfighter, the Chieftain, started as a stock model from Fe, but over the years he's taken it apart and rebuilt it several times. Even in the most destructive crashes, given some peace, time, and scrap he can rebuild the machine from a pile of wreckage. He's eager to help people anywhere on Spherus Magna, anything he can do to help people survive another day in the wasteland it's become. He has two dreams. The first is to recover his memories of his life on Metru Nui. The second is to one day upgrade the Chieftain far enough it becomes capable of space travel, then leave Spherus Magna and find a new world to call home. Bio: Inbound Aircraft: Name: The Chieftain (Mk.1) Model: Skyfighter Weaponry: A crystal railgun. Holds an overcharged lightstone between two electromagnetic rails on the underside of the craft. When the trigger is pulled, a charge shoots down the rails, accelerating the lightstone to blistering speeds. The crystal shatters on impact, releasing its energy in the form of a small electrical explosion. Pros: Very accurate, can stun aircraft. Cons: Takes a long time to reload, and the EM rails take their energy directly from the Chieftain's battery. Overusing the railgun will force the Chieftain to devote more fuel to charging the battery and rails, thus draining the fuel tank faster. Customisation: A spring-loaded spool of cord underneath the seat. Dedris will use this to tether himself to the Chieftain, or tie it to a failing aircraft and tow the pilot to safety. The Chieftain also has a headlight for night flying, which Dedris has found useful for signaling Morse Code to other aircraft. Appearance: The Chieftain's body is mostly black with a few splashes of cherry and dark red. Its wings also fold down when parked. Pictures: 1 2 3 (Edits made as per the GM's request)
  11. It isn't really ground-bound, maybe hover-bike was a misnomer. They're a lot like that aircraft Vultraz used on Karda Nui. Is that what a skyfighter is supposed to be? I thought an autopilot might be cool on such a light craft, then you could pull off stunts like jumping off the aircraft, slashing at your opponent with your blade, then having the machine fly beneath you and catch you again. But seeing as though the ships don't even have radios, I guess they wouldn't have the tech necessary for autopilot like that either. Your call.
  12. Out comes Conan O'Brien. I wait until the stroke of midnight then throw in a TV.
  13. Huh, this looks interesting... I might join. Might. I don't know how classes are going to clobber me in the near future. Questions: Are there any Toa in this world, or were they all killed by Marendar? Relating to the game, can the players have Toa characters? I'm not going to play as one but I do want to know if I'd be up against any. What class of airship would a hover-bike fall under? By that I mean something the size of a motorcycle with wings instead of wheels, kept flying by some electromagnetic anti-gravity macguffin. Would it be a skyfighter or something bigger? Smaller? Also is this going to be a game I should check in/post in often? If classes get hard I may drop off the grid for a couple days, and I don't want to bring everyone else's fun to a halt. EDIT: Further questions. Does anyone use elemental powers or Kanohi powers? Can Matoran use minute amounts of said power, or are they still powerless? What sort of communications are there on this world? Do the airships have radios or onboard computers? If so, how large is their range, can they reach across the planet or are they only useful for ship-to-ship communication? How do people survive in the low air pressures up above? Are respirators and the like common for pilots, or would rigging one up take a customization slot on your vehicle? What about an autopilot, would that take one of said customization slots? How does the teleportation work? Does it only kick in when your vehicle is destroyed? Is it in the form of a pack like the Teleportation Packs from VNOG, could you lug it around with you and portal out of any lethal situation, whether on foot or in air? Does it need recharged after every use? If your vehicle was blown up and you used the teleport, could you portal onto a friendly nearby airship as if it were solid ground? How many 'goodies' can you lug around with you? Do saddlebags take up extra customization slots? For my character I was thinking his hover-bike would have an autopilot system, he would carry around his weapon, the teleportation pack, a respirator (since the hover-bike doesn't have a cockpit), a datapad/radio, and a toolbox. He would stuff all this in saddlebags strapped to the hover-bike. Are those allowed or do you have to carry gear on your character's person in a backpack or something? I know, I know, it's Bionicle and realism doesn't really apply, but I think this is an awesome idea and worldbuilding never hurts. Plus I want to make sure said character isn't ludicrously overpowered. -Jaga
  14. I think it fit for Metru Nui, but other than that, yeah they were overused.
  15. The transition from Metru Nui to Voya Nui. I was just following along through the comics at the time and didn't see Web of Shadows. One comic it was left at the Toa Hordika about to raid the Coliseum, then the next we were on Voya Nui with the Piraka. What? There were more than a few story transitions like that that could've been handled much better.
  16. Yeah, like what about that coffee of yours, Bulik, how much suffering went into that luxury, huh? HUH?
  17. I'll just throw in here, there's a line from Lhikan where he says Teridax was 'sworn to protect the Matoran'. To me it implies Teridax wasn't really considered evil up to that point, so maybe Dume was collaborating with him. Maybe he was convinced some terrible tragedy was about to befall Metru Nui and was trying to get Terry's help to stop it. Then Teridax backstabs Dume, stuffs him in a stasis sphere, takes control of Metru Nui and the rest is history.
  18. There is no reference I just really want to see someone drive a Go-Cart in Soran's house. Soran Kart 64
  19. I... I... I showed up in Soran's comics, I... I'M A CELEBRITY! And then I died. Oh well. At least I went out with a bang... (no no please don't shoot)
  20. The puns make a good social outlet. (Slightly back on topic, I wonder why Oko needs a drill in the first place...)
  21. Okay, so for my MNOG clone, Adventure Posts, I took screenshots of the original MNOG and used those. It was rather sloppy and shameless but it would work for a demo. Also, what kind of a style are you going for? A hand-drawn, animated look? The vector graphics of the original MNOG games? 3D renders? If you go the 3D route it's pretty easy to map out large areas, and this is speaking from experience. I wanted a North March outpost to show up in Adventure Posts, so I created it as a Quake 2 level and took screenshots of the inside. Even with the subsequent GIMPing it was much less painful than trying to hand-draw every frame. It's just I need details before committing to anything.
  22. Watt, are we doing a pun war again? Shocking, isn't it? Ohm no! He can't resist the puns! It's not an ample source of puns, I'll give you that, but it's working quite well for me currently. Let's hope it doesn't make anyone blow a fuse.

  24. So, um, hey. I've been thinking about doing a series of game reviews about cool, kinda obscure indie games that need the attention. Would that be any sort of programming you'd appreciate on your channel? If so you can consider me a new recruit for the Force, I can record a few test videos if you want to see what I mean.
