  1. Here are a few of my personal ones. Some have been mentioned earlier in the thread, but a few have not: The McToran never coming to the UK. Back in 2001, I was obsessed with the MNOLG, and I had been looking forward to this for months. My dad attempted to get someone from the USA to send them to me, but to no avail. In the end, I did get hold of some via BZP's Buy/Sell/Trade section... nearly a decade later. Having to restart the MNOLG multiple times due to bugs. MNOLG2 being riddled with yet more bugs - and just not having the same charm as the original. The Battle for Mata Nui. It was almost a year late - and, when it was finally released, it wasn't worth the wait at all. The Bohrok Kal just being re-coloured Bohrok. The move away from the "tropical island" setting, towards an urban dystopia, in 2004. This was what began to kill my interest in the series (although I suspect it would have faded anyway as I was growing older and picking up other interests) The Bionicle forums on Lego.com. (BZPower was waaaaaay better)
  2. Partly, it's down to nostalgia. Bionicle was a major part of my life back in the early 2000s - and this forum was a major driver of that. For the first couple of years, I enjoyed sharing my thoughts on the storyline and things like that - but, as I eventually drifted away from that, I instead turned to commenting on people's MOCs and helping out with people's MNOG2 questions. Fun times - and it was the first forum I really got into. Another part of it is that forums always have been (and, for the foreseeable future, will remain) my preferred method of online communication. All of the modern alternatives/replacements seem to be lacking in some way: either they're feature-poor (e.g. Reddit), have no sense of community (e.g. Facebook, Twitter), or they emphasise chatter and small talk at the expense of long-form, thoughtful discussion (e.g. Discord). I understand that forums in general aren't as popular as they once were - but I want to be one of the ones helping to keep them alive.
  3. Depending on how you interpret the question, there could be several answers:Bionicle was probably the last one I was following with any enthusiasm: I started it in 2001, and continued until around 2008.I did start following some other lines after 2001 (e.g. Drome Racers, Spybotics, Vikings), but by 2008 I'd either stopped following these or they'd been discontinued.I bought some random City sets in the late 2000s, but I'm not sure this really counts as 'following' the line.I did try to collect some of the early lines of Minifigs, but by then I was no longer a 'child' (at least, not in name: in reality, I'm pretty sure I was mentally still a child !)
  4. Yep - very creative use of pieces all around. As has already been pointed out, the use of the Kakamas in particular is excellent. It looks very cute, but still like a dragon! The only thing I'm a bit unsure about is the use of lime green for the eyes: it somehow doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the colour scheme. Perhaps yellow or orange would have been better?
  5. Crusader Kings II. I got back into this game after the recent major update - this time, playing in Norway from the 867 start. I'm already finding it's a little bit broken, because I managed to found the Kingdom of Norway with my first ruler, less than 10 years after the start date . Then again, this game has a habit of hating you, and taking away that which it's given to you - so, we'll see!
  6. The very first thing I did when I signed up (back in 2002) was to start a topic called "Let's have a bit of fun!", where the object was to guess which city I lived in. To make matters worse, I posted it in the wrong forum: Bionicle Storyline & Theories. Thankfully, those days are long since behind me....and the topic disappeared years ago.
  7. Crypt of the NecroDancer. It's a brutally difficult game, especially when you're trying to speedrun it....which I currently am, without much (if any) success .
  8. I am very sorry to hear about your loss . My deepest condolences to you and to the rest of Grigor's friends and family.
  9. 25, though I was 11 when I first joined. I've had this account for over half my life now....scary.
  10. Mine's from the original MNOLG. It shows Kongu riding a Kahu - in order to match my name .
  11. Probably the rarest items I own are the Powerpack and a bunch of Misprints from 2001. So, nothing I would consider ultra-rare.
  12. I got here through kanohi-power.com - which I had reached from xTIAN's Bionicle Lexicon back in 2001. I'm that old .
  13. Congratulations, GSR ! It's sad to see you going, HH . You've done a great deal for the forums over the years - even since I was more active here, in fact . Enjoy your retirement, and welcome to the club!
  14. I found out about it through the merger of Kanohi-Power and BZCommunity, over 10 years ago. I found out about Kanohi-Power through the merger between xTIAN's Bionicle Lexicon and Bionicle Island, about a year before the BZC-KP merger. I found out about xTIAN's Bionicle Lexicon while I was looking for MNOLG help in around May 2001.
  15. Granted, but just because you can wish for it doesn't mean you do! I wish for a real-life Kahu.
  16. False, actually.TPBM has been a member of BZP for longer than me.
  17. Nope - I don't watch either. If life gave TPBM lemons, they would invent a combustible lemon that burns my house down.
  18. 1. What was your favourite point during your stay on BZP?When I became a Blog Assistant, in June 2006. 2. How long have you been a member of BZP?10 years. I'm old . 3. Should that previous question have been the first question? That's up to you !4. Have you had any long disapperances from BZP? If so, why?My longest was probably the imposed disappearance when the forums were down altogether.5. Are you as interested in BZP as you used to be?Well, my life used to revolve around it . These days, I have a social life outside it, although I do still stop by every now and then.6. Do you feel that BZP is slowly losing its members, or that BZP generally has less activity?A bit, but it still looks very healthy to me . 7. If Bionicle had not been replaced, do you think that BZP would always remain strong as long as Bionicle was ‘updated‘‘ on a regular basis?I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't. 8. Have I asked enough questions yet?Go on, ask some more !9. Do you want a hug?Yes please!(Yes, my usual style is messed up, sadly )
  19. 1. The United Kingdom2. English, as well as bits and pieces of French and Spanish3. Yes.4. Yes. I've seen 2-3-year-old sets before; they're not that uncommon.5. Quite a while, I remember.6. I generally don't these days.7. It certainly wouldn't do any harm.9. For good luck .10. No to both.
  20. The RPG forums. I've been a member for 10 years now, and never posted there even once.
  21. Recently, I've only visited sporadically; there must be some time since the forums came back when I haven't visited for a few weeks.
  22. Happy birthday to my fellow retiree! I hope you have a good one .
