  1. I'm actually going to watch Inception tonight, if all goes according to plan (through OnDemand). A few of my friends saw it, one of whom has watched it twice (and is still unable to understand it, apparently). All in all, I'm really looking forward to it: I've heard only good reviews thus far.

I understood the movie in my own special way. That's how movies are supposed to be interpreted, anyway; like music, they all have meanings we initiate on our own, much like the inception in Fischer's mind blossomed into his own reality.

Quoted for absolute truth. Wolfgang Iser postulated that the only reason why literature can be meaningful is due to the response of the reader.

On a slightly unrelated note, my Honors Bio teacher has the soundtrack, and he played it while we were doing review worksheets for the final exam. It was hilarious when those of us who had yet to complete the assignment (due at the end of the hour) started to panic--just as the music began to speed and swell, becoming quite dramatic.

  2. First of all, infinity is a concept, not a number. It is the idea of numbers going on without ever ending. (Source: my maths teacher from last year, who had a Ph. D, so I'll assume she's very credible.)

Meanwhile, negative infinity is basically the idea of numbers going LOWER infinitely. It's used a lot as shorthand in notation of the domain or range of an equation, stating that the domain or range continues to become lower without end.

Finally, that first graph you used as "proof" is essentially just x^3=y when x=/=0, or something like that. My maths class is starting on this sort of thing in just a couple of months, so Ballom is probably the best source here.

  3. For some reason, the R is showing up as a rectangle (and not like the boxes which are created when one does not have the special characters installed). Anyway, Brickeens seems to use this a lot: Ṙ.

I don't know if its different or anything, but it may help.

Also, I was wondering how exactly you get these. Specifically, do the symbols from any old Word Document work, or are the characters that can be used more specific?

  4. Please tell me about some of your preliminary plans for rigging the house. Sounds interesting...

Anyway, I'm also not going to be bothering to trick-or-treat/dress up, simply because I'll probably have homework, and school starts really early for me.

  5. I like that guess, ~Zahaku~; I think it's highly possible that Ferohn and Cyhuku will be posted together, so we can get some pictures like those in the Cyhuku folder on Toa_Ausar's Majhost.

Yeah, I'm also interested in finding out how Toa_Ausar envisions a Toa of Crystal, as well as how he choses to depict the Kanohi Great Sonterah. (You didn't happen to work out what it would be, did you?)

Last but certainly not least, I'm curious how close we are to seeing Ferohn and whomever else you have built. I understand that the adjusting the C.I.R.C.L.E. Wiki for the new skin is taking a while, and that there are new articles up for voting, so I don't mean to sound rude.

  6. I guess I can see that, but I always imagined the Noviris as simply being more burly rather than tall. Still, I get that.

Well, I'm glad to hear that I was correct on a few, and I look forward to knowing which ones. I'll be sure to post in the thread(s) and offer my two widget's worth.

Also, I am flattered that I was able to assist you in revamping the "Lava Tarakava," and I hope that it turned out well.

    Until then.

  7. Secret tunnel! Secret tunnel! Through the mountain! Secret, secret, secret tunnel!

Anyway, nice job on this CD, although I'm not certain how well "Secret Tunnel" would fit as the title. Still, I liked the "Travelling hippies present" tag at the top.

  8. In other news, I have also recently finished MOCs for four other Toa aside from Ferohn, as well as three Turaga and a Shadow Matoran, so let the speculation and guessing games begin. :sly:

Hopefully most (i.e. six or more) will be up in the BBC or my Inhabitants Thread before the weekend.

    P.S.
    's not allowed to guess.
    :P

Well, I can't wait (for this, or the other "Fractured"). I certainly hope that we get to see Ferohn soon. The height concerns me a bit, as all Toa are supposed to be only about 1.6 bio tall--universally.

As for the speculation, here are my predictions/hopes for the four Toa, three Turaga, and one Shadow Matoran.

Shadow Matoran: This is probably going to be the easiest one to guess. I'm going to put my money on a "Shadow Healer."

Turaga: I'd probably like to see Akito, Pelekua, and Mashau as MOCs, so I'm going to hope that at least one of them is displayed.

Toa: I noticed that Makal has been revamped (I like the new revamp, while I'm on the topic), so I'm almost certain you'll post him. As for pure speculation, perhaps the Toa include Anpu, Aritonu, and Khepera.

Well that's all I've got to say. Again, I can't wait for the updates.

  9. When it comes down to it, I think that Toa-Mods are all about execution. If one can add the proper little details, like some custom armor or unusual limbs, then the Toa-Moderator is good; if one does not, and--for instance--just changes the mask, lower limbs, and upper limb armor (and only uses pre-made limbs/armor), then it doesn't work well. Also, the general asthetic is vital. For instance, check out any of these MOCs for examples of good Toa-Mods. To see a couple of borderline quality Toa-Mods. One has the necessary originality, while the other is more asthetically pleasing.

  10. I second Animal Farm.

Contact, by Carl Sagan. The movie is also very good.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, though I'd bet you've already read that.

    Dune.

I don't know if you're in to mythology. If you are, The Hero with a Thousand Faces may be a good read.

    Finally, The Book Thief.

I know that I'm forgetting something, so I'll edit this post if I think of it.

  11. In my opinion, the books get better, up until the fifth, where it really reaches the high point. ;) I really wanted to imagine that the series ended right then and there; Minerva was pretty much my favorite character, minus Artimus and "Beatroot."

  12. Inception is, according to what I've heard from a friend of my parents, a really, really complex movie about stealing and implanting thoughts through dreams.

Apparently, it's quite good, if confusing. For more information, I recommend reading the TIME Magazine review. (It should be online.)
