  1. Most difficult MoC is probably my Marendar, since it's constantly under revision and evolution. Not as impressive as most people's, but it stands waist, chest head and shoulders above Tahu Okoto, so i consider it my best.
  2. I always thought of it as halfway between a sling and a crossbow. There is a squeezing mechanism to propel the disc (Left side if the disc points up, there's a piston on the set part), but you'd also have to swing them to get maximum power, with an under- or overarm action. Vakama's is a special case, though it does have pistons either side of the disc socket. Perhaps it has enough power to propel the disc without the swinging action, but conversely needs a Toa's greater strength to account for the recoil.
  3. Guess Teridax truly did have some twisted affection for his 'older brother', Mata Nui.
  4. If the Skulls as a whole are a Boss Rush, the combos, especially Grinder+Scorpio, seem to be One Winged Angel; Grinder tapping into the MoCr's power for a strength boost. I don't like the fact that Ekimu's parts are being used, though. I'd've preferred having the Ultimate Grinder be able to face off with Ekimu and the Toa. Although, who knows? Perhaps that could be the last challenge to claim the MoCr.
  5. Er...Boss Rush, anyone? This could be a battle of attrition; the Skulls each encountering the Toa, trying to/stealing a mask and then attempting a getaway. The Toa are delayed trying to get the mask back, while Grinder has more time to destroy the MoCr. By the time the Toa get to Grinder, they're hopefully learning to rely on each other. Basically, an extended sequence of the LoSS fight in the animations for the Toa crossed with a tour of the Ancient City for the customer. And honestly, who here isn't wanting the look around the City the Boss Rush plotline offers? I hope to see a riff on the 'Metru Nui in ruins' that the Hordika arc hinted at.
  6. It is worth noting that any AI's morality will be coloured by what it was created to do. A paper clip I making AI would find nothing morally wrong with turning everything in the solar system to paperclips, because that's what it considers right and its purpose. A more likely scenario is the 'Homo Agori' rising from the work of several, lesser benevolent AIs, each with their own purpose but have worked together to form a greater mind that pursues all the goals its constituent AIs were formed for; it only converts the dead into paperclips, because there are a medical and crematory AI in the 'Godmind' as well as the Paperclipper.
  7. Because rahi have natural metal armor, and many are powerful and have superpowers. Not to mention they are basically immortal, so they wont just die out after a while while food is available. The consequences for the SM ecosystem is catastrophic in the short term. We're talking 'artificially-induced mass extinction'. The toughest (Skopio) and most adaptable animals on Spherus Magna will likely survive and evolve when the biomechanical rahi begin to shut down, but it'll be a horrible few millennia.
  8. Maybe someone at lego decided that the intended young kids audience would be easily confused on who is is getting which since kopaka has blended gold/transblue while gali would've gotten transdarkblue/gold. From what i've noticed lego seems to mostly be designing the sets with details that captivate the younger audiences before anything else matters. Which isn't a bad thing. BIONICLE is, was, and remains a kid's toyline after all. Some of us just happen to be adult fans of it.
  9. Eh, I would've prefered it if the Toa went off on their own and had to reclaim their masks seperately. Because let's be honest, don't you think it'd be silly if all the Toa were just walking along and then Skull Scorpio just stole Pohatu's mask? The Skulls wouldn't have a particular target. They strike at the group, hoping to grab masks and flee, wearing the group down by attrition rather than getting involved in a stand-up fight. Look at the comics; they all strike from ambush. The fact that the Toa can (and should) work together as a group allows them to beat the Skulls and reclaim the stolen masks. It's a trial by (metaphorical) fire, and the Toa need all of their golden masks at the end of this when they wake ekimu. Stealing one mask stops them from being able to do that, and is also an easy way to weaken them. The Toa have to hunt down the Skulls because they need the Golden Masks. Easier to do it as a group than to send each individual, now weakened, after one mask. What would Tahu and Gali do while the others reclaim their masks? Make out? No, it makes more sense to think of the Skulls as a Boss Rush, with Grinder at the end as the Final Boss.
  10. The way those comics are set up implies to me that the theme for this wave will be 'unity'; the Toa learning to rely on each other as their masks are stolen by the Skulls and their teammates must retrieve them. Though Gali and Tahu don't get a designated for, I think that could be good for two reasons; Gali becomes more aware, dodging the Skulls when they steal her masks. Tahu, not having his mask stolen, charges in against Grinder, only to be humbled quickly, forcing him to acknowledge the resr of his team as peers.
  11. I had to wait two months for the first wave, but I'll drop my my local TrU. Maybe the stars have aligned and I got something before the BZP set review.
  12. RE: Rahkshi culture I can certainly accept that the Rahkshi have the potential to become fully sentient, but were never allowed to by the Makuta and the fact they were born from Shadow-beings. The Melding universe Rahkshi are said to behave more like game rangers, so maybe they have a culture. And perhaps the surviving Rahkshi will create their own savage tribal culture on Spherus Magna, far from the 'Golden Demon of Fire' (Tahu).
  13. Oh my gosh Well, what's the one thing Kapura is famous for in the MNOLG? Besides 'teleportation'. As I've said, I'd flip Kopaka (Ice Queen or Tsundere>Tahu) and Lewa (Genki Girl)
  14. A komau has a loophole; your victim could fight free of the control.
  15. A farting girl is something rarely seen in fiction. I'll support that.
  16. Lets see; Tahu's swords can be swung upward, though that's not ideal. Gali has a much easier time with her double-bladed ax. Lewa would rely on mobility. Him and Pohatu's boomerans are the most likely to hit the 'brain' as well as the horns. Onua's hammer would be difficult to swing upwards with any force. Kopaka's spear can thrust in any direction, so upward works well.
  17. Both sides would try to get Takanuva on their side, since his destiny is in here. The shadowed one would probably play both sides, providing mercenaries to whomever pays. The vorox would either remain neutral or join the Toa, depending on how that business on Bota Magna turned out. Tahu would be de facto general of the armed forces, Jaller likely being second-in-command, or a fairly highly ranked advisor.
  18. This isn't a 'do you think' as more a 'did they'. There's no debate, we've been told the story behind it, and appreciate it as a summary of the entire line. Now, how it applies to G2, that's yet to be seen. Perhaps the Masters are antibodies against the Skulls and MoUP's virus, while Okoto is a 'body' or 'organ'?
  19. Or the Kanohi on Rahi are there for aesthetic reasons, act as batteries like they do for matoran, or provide some advantage to the Rahi (Nui-Rama's translucent Ruru's that protect the real eyes). The Kanohi aren't necessarily for control, but they can be controlled via the Kanohi.
  20. What I find interesting is the referring to the new mask design as 'bull skull' mask. Does this mean the horns are part of the mask (in-story) and not the reanimated corpse? Also, I suddenly like Skull Scorpio a lot more with the implication that it isn't one corpse, but two or three (or more?) that have been forced together by the power of whatever being created the mask it wears. That tail isn't a tail, but a pair of arms locked together to wield the blades while the mutated torso crawls on multiple joined ribs, frantically grabbing at intruders with what remains of its own arms.I had kind of gotten that impression from Skull Scorpio even before we had bios. Its humanoid head and ribcage give it a very Kafka-esque look that helps to compensate for its limited poseability and awkward anatomy. Personally, what I found most interesting about those bios is the implication in Skull Slicer's bio that Skull Spiders can control dead hosts as easily as live ones. It helps to elevate their creepy factor—not only can they control the villagers of Okoto, but they could potentially make them have to face their fallen ancestors and loved ones as well. With the news that it upgrades Skull Grinder, I might get one after all. I was already planning on getting the Ekimu set just for the MoCr, so getting a bigger, badder, villain might just be worth it. And these combo models might actually have an in-story role, with the Skull Masks' corpse hosts being mashed together for greater size and power against the elemental heroes.

  22. That is brilliant. I love that mental image.
  23. The repatriation theory makes sense, because ninety percent of rahi would run away from the Bohrok rather than attempt to attack them. THose could be herded by bohrok and Va, The Muaka and other dangerous large creatures might need a little more persuasion.
  24. Yes, because then all we would have is the quest for the masks. A little more fleshed out? Sure but I'd rather have the plot delve into what actually matters: what is so important about those three masks and what is commanding all of these skeletal themed creatures? Well my idea was that the first year would revolve around the mask of control and the resurrection of Makuta and then in the second year we would see MOC and Ekimu then in the third year MOUP. Looks like we're getting the first two years in the opposite order you're guessing at.
