  1. Fix'd OK, I didn't intend for my new explanation to be objectively better than what we had. It was just an illustration for how the agori arc could have been done better. Since they were essentially matoran, make them the 'last generation' who've deified their builders because their memory modules have started going wonky out in the wild, as opposed to their updated counterparts who were kept in a controlled environment. The glatorian have forgotten what the GBworld was like, and so built up a mythology and culture like the '01 matoran did.
  2. There is plenty of organic material in earth. Okay, fine. Trees are not only organic, they are alive and growing. Earth, fire, air, and water are not. What about all sorts of microorganisms that are in earth? What about the microorganisms in water and the air? Trees are inherently organic and living, while earth, air and water are not. A Bo-Toa creates and destroys living beings. Admittedly, said beings live on a timescale far removed from our own, but they're still alive.
  3. The problem with the lifespans on Bara Magna is, that despite the good points both Fishers and Bonesiii raised, that a 10,000-year time is difficult to grasp even for adults, let alone the teenagers (us) or kids (new fans) who were around and interested. It made sense for the GSR, since it's essentially a spaceship. Bara Manga, however, is a planet, and things on a planet change and evolve. We have no evidence for any living being surviving 10 thousand years without some sort of suspended animation, and even then, these are very simple organisms like tardigrades or bacteria. Also, three thousand years ago in our history, the Classical civilizations that form the basis for modern culture had barely risen. Asking us to believe that not only had the culture and civilization of Bara Magna remained stagnant for over three times the entire existence of Western Civilization is frankly, ridiculous. Had I the chance, this is what I would've suggested; This way, Metus, Kiina, Ackar and the rest have their absurd lifespans because they are essentially the 'Last Gen' iterations of the Matoran and Toa. Takua was the flagship model that would have entered production had the Core War never happened. The Matoran-Toa-Turaga evolution was designed so that the model would 'grow up' with its owner, and the (powerless then) Masks were designed as safety features. Instead, the Matoran were repurposed as construction and maintenance for the GSR, and so the "Agoritorian" models were left behind, obsolete, as their masters died out. Had the Core War never happened and the GSR never had to be built, the Agoritorian models would have been phased out, replaced by 'Matoran' model servant-bots. Likely, most of the rest of the GB-created inhabitants of the GSR would never have been built at all, like the Makuta and Bohrok. The 'First Rahi' might have been amusement park rides, weapons, or whatever, but the Iron Wolves could be placed alongside those giant sea beasts in GB history, even without the new theory above. This can safely explain why the Glatorians remember the Core War, and why they can behave like teenagers and old men despite being more or less the same age. It also helps with why the MoLife could 'update' them into faux-Toa, and why they got along quickly with the Toa that came out of Makuta-GSR while identifying the Rahkshi/Skrall/DH as opponents; they were essentially the same thing already, so the Bara Magnans could work off the Matoaran's thought process. I'm not going to touch the Elemental Powers. That can slide comfortably under suspension of disbelief. Though a thought occurs; By returning the water, dirt and various machine-unfriendly contaminants to Spherus Magna, Mata Nui might have 'ruined' the world for the Agori/Matoran society, just like the Shattering did to the GBs. Just imagine a century after the story ends with Gali and Kiina (for example) sitting, inert, in a swamp while metal-eating organic creatures dissolve their broken bodies. :'( And my theory could also link into G2, but let's not start that here.
  4. Eww. That's disgusting, and one of the reasons I dislike the plant life element from G1. A nova blast makes a new forest, does it? Can they cause plants to sicken and die by 'reabsorbing' them?
  5. We could call their matoran form Rahi-Matoran and their elemental powers manifest as being able to lull a rahi to sleep or enrage it.And the Makuta killed them all quietly so there wasn't anyone who could challenge their control of Rahi.
  6. While saying everyone does would be hyperbole, it's certainly common enough that to the average consumer, it's not going to be an inconvenience. It's not available here (South Africa), but I imagine it's common enough elsewhere.
  7. I think that if Turaga Dume was the president, The Makuta would be somebody like the Ambassador from the UN. You'd know the position exists and that someone fills it, but you wouldn't know any personal details, up to name and appearance. The Makuta is that guy who does the Makuta stuff. You'd know of him and about him, but shrug if anyone asked anything more specific.
  8. Nothing in-universe anyway. Sloppy world building works quite well for most logical inconsistencies otherwise.
  9. Haha! This doesn't excuse the absurd lifespans on Bara Magna, but goes a way to justifying Matoran living for millennia like we do years.
  10. Has anyone found episode 18 on YouTube yet? I've been looking, but had no luck.
  11. Having fun speculating =\= ridiculous strung-together theories that undo half of G1 to justify themselves. I have no objections to the "hey, maybe G1/G2 is the mythological foundation for the other" or "Protectors are matoran/agori hybrids made through applying Matoran engineering to Agori bodies". What I do object to is "hey, makuta survived and telepathically rewrote Artakha's memory and made him his brother on an island in an alternative universe with its own giant robot hiding under Okoto!" If there is a link, it'll be subtle and easily ignored just so the new fans don't get overwhelmed by the G1 back story.
  12. I built mine; Marendar. But seriously? I'd have loved to have seen some Mata or Metru Nui-based playsets. Just imagine the chute system!
  13. Instead of DNA, we could call it OPVC: Organic Protodermic Viral Codex, or maybe just PVC, or something else along those lines. Why not PNC? Protonucleic coding?I find this very plausible. The 'viruses' the Makuta used were 'nanite packs' designed by the GBs to better manipulate protodermis and the PNC of their creations. Protodermis itself isn't nanobots, but the mechanisms the GBs used are.
  14. You wat? I prefer the set build. He's appealingly chunky after the flat sets of later G1
  15. You can't fool me. It's little robots all the way down!
  16. I like that idea. Not enough to endorse it, but there's some interesting story to be had in the Masters being 'Nuva2.0'
  17. Not exactly... OM NOM NOM brainstalk, and his victims are left with no eye color.
  18. Or the depleted energy source of the protector masks being the protector themselves; not having enough elemental energy to fill the mask.
  19. The fact is that the gear function is easily switched. More easily on Pohatu than Gali or Kopaka, simply because he's already dual-wielding. Kopaka and Gali need to have their weapons moved or switched, but it isn't that difficult to have a lefty Toa or two if you really wanted to.
  20. "Without breaking anything?" *crumbles* Though it just occurs to me we didn't see the Masters leave before the arena folded in in itself. Perhaps the next video opens with Onua and Pohatman holding the wall up for the others to escape.
  21. Kind of? The big difference is that Kulta makes heavy use of Silver Metallic and Titanium Metallic, whereas LoSS doesn't use any metallic colors at all (being almost uniformly black apart from the Tr. Fluor. Reddish Orange bits). Both color schemes work, don't get me wrong, but when I look at them they're very distinct from one another. The trans red and dark colors is what I meant. While Kulta favours metallic, he still resembles LoSS to the point where I wonder if LoSS wouldn't make a better addition to the combo model than Ekimu. I know the combo models keep things in the same wave, but it's a thought.
  22. The first thing that I notice about Kulta and LoSS is that they've practically identical color schemes. It looks good.
  23. And considering how much he laughed, I'd say Skull Slicer was the Joker. No, that would mean he targeted Pohatu first, since the Joker has a thing for Batman. I still approve of Pohatman's character. Makes up for having the most basic set.
  24. So, how do you feel about having your baby picture now in game?

  25. Less that and more training wheels for a bike; they don't need the Golden Masks, but their reservoirs are easier to use than the Masters' own.
