  1. You mean there's no raging Matoran debates as to whether Toa are gods or monsters? Well to be fair something like that did happen along those lines when the Voya Nui Resistance were discussing their Piraka overseers... Which then led to the resistance going all Batman on the Toa Nuva.
  2. Yeah, it'd be nice if Bionicle could take a cue from Smurfs: The Lost Village about correcting the gender ratio...
  3. Not that I've heard of; and let's face it, it's basically Ekimu with the blue parts swapped out for purple, the Mask of Control instead of the Mask of Creation, and a modified hammer design. Of course JtO featured a different breastplate but-like the Mask of Ultimate Power-it was never produced in physical form.

  5. Have never owned Solek so I can't say much-but if it's as as people say, the only thing crappier is that they basically took that model and slapped Nuparu's Volitak on it to make Mazeka.
  6. Definitely a great chapter, and I love how you're using the altered circumstances of this timeline to get some more use out of some short-lived characters. I figured Artakha might have been talking about Tren Krom-it was either that or Voporak and exploiting his time slow powers somehow-but I definitely didn't anticipate how you put it into play-Artakha's method was honestly a little terrifying. Loving the fic so far, and looking forward to the next installment.
  7. You've hit the nail on the head Vox; while a number of build videos have been made by various people with regards to JtO Makuta, it doesn't seem that anyone has really made a list of the parts you require for his construction, and only HIS construction. Of course, it would have been nice if Lego could have provided us with that AND an actual set of instructions for making him as opposed to just a list of the sets you can get the necessary parts from. But that's water under the bridge, and I don't know that anyone at Lego has the time or means to create either at this point. I put the word out on TTV Channel to see if a parts list has been put together, but haven't heard anything back yet.
  8. Funnily enough, I believe the original plan was for there to be only four Toa for the traditional four elements of Fire, Air, Water, and Earth; they had six production lines at the time-not sure if that's expanded since-so it was decided to add two more.
  9. I'm honestly not all that interested in the movie, but am loving the minifigures so far.
  10. Well, no victory, but still thought it was a great piece.
  11. I am in the process of acquiring the necessary sets to construct G2 Makuta, and...it's proving quite difficult. Sadly I refrained from buying any of the G2 Bionicle sets while the line was ongoing, which effectively leaves me with shopping online, picking through the leftovers at my local Toys'R'Us, or trying to find sets used at odds and ends hobby stores. The problem is, some of them have proven quite difficult to find, or when I have found them it's at such a price point that were I to buy them it would not be at an eye to acquiring multiples. That being said, I'm wondering: how badly do I need each individual set to make this work? I've managed to get ahold of a used Lord of Skull Spiders and Kulta-missing some parts but enough for my needs-and am now looking at the Umaraks, Ikir, Uniter Tahu, and Uniter Onua. So far as I've been able to see the only part you'd need from Ekimu is the wheel from his shield on the torso, and there's other ways I can obtain that. So my question is, are there other sets I can use to get the necessary parts, or could I possibly obtain the needed parts from other sources without having to buy an entire set?
  12. Chapter 20 The watching Toa, Turaga, Glatorian, and others, alerted by some sixth sense inherent to their nature as warriors or former warriors, quickly turned away from the sight of Mata Nui and Voporak's confrontation. They were just in time, as a brilliant light-not unlike that which had been unleashed in Karda Nui by Matoro's sacrifice and the Kanohi Ignika-erupted as Mata Nui and Voporak made contact. Fortunately, everyone and everything else was far enough away that the intensity was only enough to cause temporary blindness-had they been as close as the heroes it would have been as crippling as that suffered by Antroz and his compatriots. Fortunately, the explosion was brief, and the heroes were soon able to turn and see it's results. Mata Nui stood there, surrounded by the same swirling energies, but these had concentrated around him and seemed calmer, no longer embodying the conflict between Mata Nui and Voporak. Having stored his sword and reverted his shield back into the form of Click, he held two other artifacts in his hands. One was instantly recognizable as the Vahi, but now it appeared in the golden color it had been when Vakama first forged it. The other was an unfamiliar mask with six triangular fins, but with the same gold coloration as the Vahi, the Ignika, and the Avohkii. Barely seeming aware of his prizes, Mata Nui looked out across the field of battle; much of the fighting was done, but some battles still raged and he feared others would reignite if action was not taken. And so, wielding such power as had not been his since he had sacrificed the prototype robot, Mata Nui reached out to do what he had failed to do on that occasion. The energies surrounding him billowed out across the face of Spherus Magna, seeking out those beings in need of healing...or change. Two waves of energy spread out from the towering figure of Mata Nui, the first traveling more swiftly and leaving few if any unaffected. As the nearest to him, the Toa and their comrades were the first to feel its effects. The former Order members showed no reaction, but each Turaga put a hand to their heads as their lost memories of the "time slip" came back to them. The Mahri were more drastically effected, as all that they had forgotten of life in Metru Nui was returned to them; Takanuva was hit even harder, as his mind wrestled with conflicting memories of life in Karda Nui and a fictitious existence in Metru Nui prior to his actual residence there. Others among the masses were affected to varying degree as Mata Nui gave back to them the memories they had lost or had stolen from them, a prelude-for some-to the more physical nature of the second wave. The first entities to be touched were the Kraawa and Kardas Dragon, who had been locked in combat-admittedly one sided, since all Kardas' power did was to cause Kraawa to grow larger and larger. At Mata Nui's urging, the powers of Time and Life brought an end to their battle, decreasing the Kraawa back to its original size-closer in scale to an Ash Bear-while Kardas regained his original Fenrakk form. Perceiving the spider as no threat, the Kraawa calmly lumbered off while the Fenrakk scuttled away, at last free of the Mask of Life's influence. The powers of Vahi and Ignika next struck Tracker and Gaardus, who soon found themselves reverted to their own original forms: a squat being with two immense eyes and a pair of Kolhii Staffs*, and a simple Ta-Matoran. At any other time they might have been thrilled, but this change had come in the midst of a battle between them and Graalok, who soon had the pair fleeing the swiping twin claws of her left hand. Next to be changed were the Skakdi, who were reverted back into the state in which they had been before Spiriah's tampering with them; these were followed by various Dark Hunters and others whom Mata Nui took the liberty of stripping of their inherent powers to prevent them from escaping capture or causing trouble in the future. Among these were Ehlek's people, now relieved of their protosteel claws, and Takadox's people, now stripped of their hypnotic abilities. The Zyglak were also touched, destroying their status as plague carriers, as was every victim of the Visorak or other being mutated whether by the Makuta or some other force of evil in the fallen Matoran universe. The energies then spread to the creatures of Spherus Magna, who for the first time in millennia were freed from the weapons and armor that had been forcibly grafted into them by the Great Beings. Last, but far from least, to be affected were the Element Lords; when the work was done, they were Element Lords no longer. Tesara and Likus lay inert in the midst of the chasm opened by Onua and Likus' battle, while the Forest of Blades had released its captives at long last. Roxtus, now a towering leader class Skrall once again, lay atop a mass of rubble, while the female Vorox Atero stumbled free of the mass of glass to which she had previously been fused. Iconox and Tajun were getting shakily to their feet, but Vulcanus was on his knees under the watchful eyes of Agni and Kalama. Other Matoran soon joined them, with Ally and Piatra seeing to Atero, Amaya and Kyrehx to Tajun, Shu and Taiki to Tesara, Talvi and Pakastaa to Iconox, and Gar and Kaj to Likus. As the energies surrounding Mata Nui faded, he spotted a quartet of approaching figures: the Ko-Matoran Mazeka leading three bound prisoners. Two were instantly recognizable as Metus and Sahmad, but the other figure-a Turaga-was only known when her former comrades saw the cold eyes behind her Mask of Intangibility. Noticing their looks, Mazeka held up a bulging sack. "That little light show left these behind around her-I put them with the ones Helryx left behind." Before Mazeka could receive any response, Karzahni materialized beside him and his charges, and with a swipe of the Staff of Artakha he sent the Ko-Matoran and his bag of Toa stones flying. His arm blades then slashed through the bonds of both Agori and the Turaga, who quickly moved to his side as he faced the Toa, Glatorian, and their allies. The sight of so many enemies did not seem to cow the tyrant, and indeed his eyes narrowed as he spotted Lesovikk. He then lowered the staff and unleashed its power in the direction of the Toa Cordak, only for Artakha to move in front of them. The Kanohi Ekimu shone golden, and after a brief struggle the energies of the staff were deflected, flying in the direction of the Toa Seal crystals. Though surprised, Karzahni recovered quickly and was gone from sight with his three latest recruits; they rematerialized only briefly some distance away to be joined by a handful of others, including the escaped Mizuni, before disappearing again. Though not eager to let such a menace roam free, the Toa and their allies were too exhausted to even think of pursuing them, not that Karzahni's powers would have made any such action easy. Further weight against doing so was added as they considered the Toa seals, which had been utterly obliterated by Karzahni's deflected strike. Keetongu was the first to put into halting words what was on the minds of all. "How...the evil one...have...such...power?" "Karzahni has taken my staff...one which I created many thousands of years ago. It was intended to repair-in deed, to restore the entirety of the Matoran Universe even if it suffered the most grueling of damage. Had Mata Nui encountered some force that utterly tore his mighty form asunder, leaving only fragments remaining, the staff had the power to restore him. Unfortunately, as all forces have two sides, so it is with the staff; it's energies can be turned to tear down as well as to build up. The only reliable shield against such power is the Mask of Creation, for it's power gave rise to the staff." Mata Nui, who had moved to join his defenders and allies, shook his head solemnly. "Then it seems yet another misguided being has come into power far greater than should be theirs to possess. Still, Karzahni and those he has escaped with will no doubt wait for a better moment to strike-this day has changed much, and may change more yet. For now we must see to our friends and allies...both standing and fallen...and to those evils we have captured. Firstly, some of you may wish to attend to Roxtus; while the other former Element Lords may be in no shape to handle pairs of well-trained Matoran, he may pose a problem." "If it pleases you, Mata Nui, it has been many centuries since my hands did such honest work," said an unfamiliar voice. Mata Nui and those with him turned rapidly, the Toa and Glatorian reaching for their weapons. Before them stood a being who resembled Sidorak, but only due to being a member of the same species. The way this one carried himself bespoke a nobility of character, and though he carried weapons he also looked as though he would use them only at need. It was in fact these tools, and now more abundant yellow of his armor, that allowed those he faced to recognize him. "Voporak," Vakama breathed, and behind him Morbuzakh tensed; he had after all perished once at the hands of this being. "Yes, that is still my name-the one thing the Brotherhood saw fit to leave me after I played into their hands. I was once a clan leader on Stelt, but I fiercely opposed the cruelty with which my brethren conducted business and enslaved the less civilized races with whom we shared our island. I sought to bring about change, and in seeking the power to do so foolishly made a deal with Makuta Bingzak. I only found out later that my former underling Sidorak encouraged his interest in me, hoping to take over my position, and that Bingzak had tired of my idealism. "And so the Brotherhood took me and twisted me for their own purposes, turning me over to the Dark Hunters that I might become a more effective tool of their whims. I could remember only fragments of my former life, and the knowledge that the Brotherhood had made me what I am. It is that which brought me such pleasure in serving the Shadowed One instead, though had I remembered my true past I would have shuddered to pledge my honor to him. But now at last I am free, and not just from the hideous form in which they left me. You have relieved me of a burden, Mata Nui-one whose powers the Brotherhood unknowingly allowed me to tap, for they had no idea it rested within me." Voporak's hand raised and pointed at the strange mask in Mata Nui's hand, which he seemed to notice for the first time. Looking at it and the Vahi, he brought them closer and noticed energy beginning to run between them-an effect that Vakama remembered seeing in his studies of the Great Disks. As though reading Vakama's mind, Mata Nui brought the two masks together, and with a soft clank they became one. That which had been forged by Vakama now served as the bottom half of a larger mask, with the one which Mata Nui had taken from within Voporak becoming the upper half. "And so the Mask of Time is complete at last," said a new, unfamiliar voice-and yet, strangely to many of those who heard it, familiar. As one they turned again to see a crowd of beings before them, each wearing armor of various hues. About half of them were bound and unarmed, while the other half held weapons and guarded them cautiously. At their head stood a being in purple armor, and it was his voice that had just spoken and which triggered a half-forgotten memory in the mind of Mata Nui, whose eyes widened. "Angonce...you are the Great Beings!" Mata Nui's pronouncement set the present Glatorian on their guard, while the former Matoran Universe inhabitants among them had mixed reactions. Some, as they had upon seeing Mata Nui, felt the urge to kneel. Others seemed almost afraid, while still other seemed disbelieving. Of these, Pouks was the first to voice his thoughts. "You're the Great Beings? Forgive my skepticism, but...you look like Glatorian." The words brought indignation from Nynrah, Heremus, and their ilk, but Angonce merely gave a sad smile. "Perhaps we are, noble Toa...or perhaps we were...or perhaps it would be better for this universe if we had seen ourselves as such. Instead, we allowed the differences between us and our neighbors to be seen as superiority, never realizing that fallibility was something we shared with them. Thus it was that, whether we had been born so or not, we became a kind unto ourselves: the 'Great Beings'...or Great Destroyers.** "We have wrought much ill, and sadly much of it has come from our efforts to undo that which we had allowed to happen through our neglect. The mask that Voporak carried within him was one of two halves of the true Kanohi Vahi, one of the three Legendary Masks we forged. However, while the very nature of the Kanohi Ekimu was order, the Ignika's nature was that of chaos-the chaos of Life itself-and we feared a similar result from the Vahi. As such, we split it into two halves, one of which was split further into the six Great Kanoka, while the other was placed within Voporak. It was intended to allow him to seek out the Vahi's lower half were it ever recreated-and to control the energies it would unleash were it to be destroyed. "It occurred to us that, were things to go against our intentions-as they so often have-the Vahi could prove dangerous beyond measure. But we knew also that it could prove vital, and thus implemented this safeguard against its misuse.[/size] Now at last, the mask is whole again...and I can think of no one more suited to possess it than you, Mata Nui." As Angonce spoke, the Vahi began to glow again, and to the astonishment of all present the Ignika and Ekimu did so as well, with lines of power appearing to connect the three masks. Within the lines there appeared a sort of window, and all present stared intently, wondering what might appear. An image materialized within the rough triangle, but in contrast to the bright light surrounding it the apparition was pure darkness. A shadowy form was visible-a mask that appeared to possess at least six protrusions-but much of it's form was obscured by a shadowy flame within which blazed two red eyes. For a moment it hung there, filling the souls of all present with an unspeakable horror. Then Mata Nui, in an act of pure will, wrenched himself away, breaking the connection between the three Legendary Kanohi and causing the image to vanish. "What was that horror?" Bomonga's question went unanswered for a long moment-even the Great Beings seemed unable to provide one. At long last, it was Artakha who spoke, his eyes grim behind the visage of the Mask of Creation. "That is what the Legendary Kanohi have the potential to become-a power more terrifying than a hundred of the Great Beings' giant robots, or a thousand Staffs of Artakha turned to evil. It was the Mask of Ultimate Power...a mask that combines the energies of Life, Time, and Creation in one mask which even then cannot fully contain such might. The being who commanded such a mask would be virtually omnipotent-power such as even Teridax could never have dreamed. Yet such power would come with a terrible cost, I fear, were it used by any but the purest of beings. "We have all witnessed what the powers of Life and Time can do when they are mingled-now imagine the power of Creation added to that mix. You could look across time and behold any weapon, give it form, and then bring it to life to serve your aims. Any foe could be aged to dust, given some form in which they could pose no threat, or be turned into an ally by the manipulation of their past. But I shudder to think of any being wearing such a mask, for I doubt that even the most noble of heart could forever stave off the allure of it's darker powers." "Indeed, Artakha...which is why I have no intention of allowing it to ever come into existence," Mata Nui replied. "We cannot destroy the Legendary Kanohi, for to do so would unleash great evil in it's own way. But we must insure that they are safeguarded, so that this vision we have seen remains just that. Toa Nuva, you shall carry the Vahi-we must make our way back to the camp and attend to the results of this battle. "Angonce, you and the other Great Beings shall accompany us-I sense that you have your own tales to tell regarding your actions. But know that you will stand trial before those over whom you once ruled as well as over those whom you created, to answer for your misdeeds, whether intended or otherwise. Never again will you rule Spherus Magna, I think, for you shirked that responsibility once and cannot be trusted to take it up again. But if you have truly seen the error of your ways...perhaps another place exists for you." When Karzahni and his latest acquisitions rematerialized, it was in a place Sahmad hadn't expected to see again: the fortress Irnakk had created for the Skakdi using their dreams. Despite Irnakk's fall, the structure remained intact, and even more surprising was that it was inhabited-not by Skakdi, but by hordes of strange creatures. About half of the creatures appeared to be tall, skeletal beings similar in height and build to Toa or Glatorian, and wearing masks that the former Matoran universe inhabitants recognized with a chill as the Kanohi Kerato***, Mask of Undeath. The others with them appeared to be more of a mixed lot, though somewhat similar to each other: bestial beings with black and red, purple and green, or blue and green armor and features with gaping jaws. Formidable as these guards were, there were others that the various beings accompanying Karzahni couldn't help but shudder at as they made their way into the city. Strange four-legged spiders with bodies that resembled skulls and creatures of similar size with jaws that snapped like traps crawled up and down the walls of the fortress. Others like the bestial guards but with black and green armor and deadly-looking antlers prowled in the darkness, haunting every shadow that wasn't already occupied by a hideous, bony scorpion. At last the group-consisting of Karzahni, Metus, Mizuni, Tuyet, Sahmad, Sidorak, and Lariska-came to what was obviously a throne room, which they entered. Inside they found a small group waiting, comprising beings even more fearsome-if it was possible-than those outside. A hideous horned skeletal warrior with a three-pronged staff gripped in one hand stood to one side, his bones either dead gray or glowing red. To either side of him stood other monstrous figures: a purple figure with twin axes, and a green one that wielded a sword in three of his four arms and a chained weapon with the last. On the other side of the room were three more beings, including a humanoid who resembled the shadowy lurkers outside but for the bow and blade he carried and his lack of a tail, and a monstrous six-legged red and black spider. But the most fearsome of all was a bestial figure larger than the multi-colored beasts, with his black and green body topped by a golden visage framed by low-slung golden horns and a gaping black jaw. However, fearsome as all these creatures were, it was clearly Karzahni himself who dominated, towering over them all as he made his way to the throne. Turning, he sat down, laying the Staff of Artakha across his lap as he looked upon his latest followers. For a long moment he was silent, and the assembled beings wondered if he had rescued them merely to destroy them himself. Then a cold smile appeared on his face, and a touch of the old madness was evident in his dark eyes. "My brother Artakha and his accursed allies believe that they have won-that they have defeated the greatest foes to threaten their plans for this world and shattered the Claw of Karzahni. But not all who hate the Great Beings and those who have served them flocked to that battle, as you can see here. The Skull Grinder and his Raiders, barbarians of the Matoran Universe, turned away the Shadowed One's messengers, while the Destroyer and his Hunter, Shadow Spawn, Elemental Beasts, and Skull Spiders have long dwelt in the darkness since they were driven from their home of Roxtus. They have come to me, for I alone know their enemies well enough to lead them to victory-though it will not be done swiftly, and we will need every advantage." Karzahni gestured, and Vultraz, Ahkmou, and Gavla entered the room, followed by a number of Skull Raiders who carried various pieces of armor and equipment. Lariska and Sidorak were led away as the three Matoran joined the Turaga and Agori already before Karzahni, and all seven were attended to by the Skull Raiders. Karzahni himself did little except to exercise the merest fraction of the powers of his Kanohi Artidax upon the group. When it was done, the Skull Raiders stepped away, and even the sadistic Dark Hunter and the maddened former king were struck with awe. Vultraz's mask and armor were now bulkier, a brighter red, and gold in place of their former black; indeed, he almost appeared noble until you saw the cruel eyes behind his Mask of Vulture. In his right hand he held a launcher with rotating barrels, while in his left he carried a golden mace. Metus' armor had been similarly changed, but his launcher bore twin blades and his left arm held a shield with a blade that encircled it's outer edge. Mizuni hardly resembled a Turaga in his armor, and no elder would have carried the deadly energy launchers he now wielded. Tuyet similarly would never hardly have been thought a Turaga, and her new harpoon and chain mace only added to her formidable new image. Sahmad admired his new launcher, as well as a double-bladed knife that crackled with power. Gavla, reverting to her natural gold coloring in mockery of all that Av-Matoran were supposed to stand for, wielded a mighty hammer and a saw similar to Metus' but even more ornate. However, the most fearsome of the group was Ahkmou, who likewise carried a hammer that had twin hooks on one side. His armor had changed to silver and purple, and in place of his old black Rau he now wore the Kanohi Okoto, Mask of Control.**** "You seven shall be the eyes and ears of my new army-using your knowledge of our foes to strike at them where they are weakest. Serve me well, and eventually even greater power shall be yours-more than simply the ability to use Great Kanohi masks and wield weapons worthy of the accursed Toa." As if to emphasize his point, Karzahni reached for his Flaming Chain-now looped about his body and decorated with several masks-and adjusted it slightly to reveal his most coveted prize. The Kanohi Kraahkan, Mask of Shadows, seemed to beckon to the fallen villagers, inviting them to serve well and eventually claim its power for their own. "As for you two," Karzahni said, turning to Sidorak and Lariska, "the Claw of Karzahni has use for you as well. You, Sidorak, knew the tactics of the Makuta even if you did not employ them-you shall help train my forces in their use. As for you, Lariska-when the war has begun, your skills as a warrior and assassin will be invaluable. But for now there is a prisoner in my dungeon who has information I believe invaluable to our cause who refuses to cooperate-and I believe your former employer would enjoy a visit from you." The atmosphere back at the Matoran-Agori camp was a mixed one as Mata Nui's party made their way back in. Old comrades and new friends rejoiced in the fact that they had survived the grueling battle, and in the ending of the threats that had been defeated. Others were more businesslike, herding bound prisoners into the fallen Great Spirit robot to an area that had been converted into a temporary holding facility. Sadly, many were mourning their fallen friends, among them the Le-Matoran band of Makani and Sanso, who with their surviving comrades made the saddest music they had ever played. Vakama and his fellow former Toa Metru bowed their heads as the Po-Matoran Podu and Pekka came walking up, bearing a stretcher on which lay the lifeless form of their comrade Onewa. Seeing the shattered Komau laid on his chest, Mata Nui's eyes narrowed and he stopped the pair just long enough to gather the fragments. The pair then moved on, carrying Onewa's body towards another opened area of the robot where the forms of other fallen warriors had been laid until they could be interred properly. As tragic as the sight was, even more heartbreaking was the area where the many wounded were being tended, some of whom would soon join Onewa. Nuparu, Whenua, and Onua came to a halt as they recognized two forms among the wounded: one lying on a stretcher, the other kneeling beside him in grief. Taipu had been treated almost as brutally by the traitorous Ahkmou, and to Onepu had fallen the sad chance of finding him in this condition and bringing him to see if anything could be done. Fau, Toa of Jungle, moved quickly to examine the Onu-Matoran, but soon stood and shook his head sadly; even with his Kanohi Agarak of Healing there was nothing he could do. He raised a hand to stop the other Toa from coming forward, and explained that Taipu's injuries were such that attempting to heal him with their Elemental Powers would be just as lethal. With a last sad look at Taipu, he began looking in on the other patients to see if there were others whom he could save, leaving the Toa and Turaga of Earth to watch the sad scene before them. "Guess I won't...be able to...be your Kolhii...partner anymore," Taipu rasped to Onepu. "Taipu, I...I'm so sorry. I was always tricking you into doing my digging for me-I should have pulled my weight." "Heh...you never were...a great miner...anyway. That's probably why...you got a job...in the Archives..." With that, Taipu's heartlight faded and his eyes went dark, leaving Onepu to weep as Aiyetoro and Azibo gently picked up the stretcher and slowly carried their fallen comrade to the place of the fallen. Knowing that they could do little for him at present, the Toa and Turaga let him be, instead turning to using the remains of their Elemental Power to aid in the healing of others. Their efforts did much good, but sadly there would be other tearful farewells as Akamu and Damek took charge of the fallen Midak, Aft and Aodhan departed with the body of Tiribomba, Nixie was carried away by Kai and Kailani, Kumo and Shu left with Tuuli, and Bour and Epena were forced to bear away Podu. Hahli, laboring with her comrades among the fallen, watched in sorrow as her Ko-Matoran teacher Kantai passed, and his friends Jaa and Jaatikko reverently carried his body to an isolated corner of the viewing place in deference to his desire for solitude in life. After many hours, Mata Nui gathered those leaders who were still able-bodied for a meeting; the Toa Nuva, Hagah, Mahri, Takanuva, Korusca, the Turaga, and Mata Nui's Glatorian companions were all in attendance along with Artakha, Keetongu, and Krahka. Seeking seclusion, they met atop the great tree stump where Takanuva had faced Umarak the Shadowed One just hours before, with guards posted to insure that they were not disturbed. With Raanu gone, the Agori were represented by Kyry-to the chagrin of Crotesius-Kirbold, Tarduk, and Berix. Looking around at these allies and other representatives from the various inhabitants of Spherus Magna, Mata Nui took a steadying breath before addressing them. "My friends, we have accomplished much this day-though we have suffered losses, we have been fortunate enough to achieve great victories. Now we must look to the future, and how the society we shall shape together will begin. I hold no illusions about us working separately-were it not for the natives of Spherus Magna and the creations of the Great Beings alike coming together, few if any of us would have endured this day. I also will not seek to hide myself away again as I did before, but I refuse to accept rule over this world even if all of you wish to grant it to me. We have seen the danger that comes when a single ruler-or even a group of rulers-holds too much power, and I would not see it repeated." For a moment all were silent; then Takanuva rose to his feet. "If I may, Mata Nui...I believe I may have the beginnings of an answer. In my journey to Karda Nui I traveled to many worlds, some of which bore the marks of tyranny you describe. However, there is one where the inhabitants had come together in peace, putting aside their differences for the common good. In this reality, the inhabitants were ruled over by a council of elected representatives, who deliberated together on issues confronting them all. Their situation was different from ours-their very survival depended upon their cooperation-but I believe their example may be beneficial as we seek to move forward." Takanuva's suggestion was met with approval from the vast majority of those present, and it was agreed that such a council would be formed to serve as an interim government. This body would begin the process of creating the new government of Spherus Magna, though each group would be given the option as to whether they wished to be a part of the unified society or wanted to remain separate. As such, the meeting was adjourned with the resolution that all the tribes, peoples, and factions that now called Spherus Magna home-would be approached regarding their desire to join the society and elect a representative to the council. The offer was even to be extended to those factions now under guard, on the condition that they would enter into an agreement of peaceful coexistence with their neighbors. Kualus, the Toa Hagah of Ice, had the final word. "I believe we are on the right path, friends-only time will tell if we are correct. But I believe that once we have learned the disposition of the peoples of this world-or at least as many as will heed us-we will have some hard questions to answer. How shall this society stand, and what shall be done about those who desire no part in it nor peaceful distance from it? Those are the questions we must answer shortly...before the enemies we have not subdued make their move." To be concluded. *Tracker's original form is one of the 2003 Matoran Combiners. **Given the mixed feelings regarding Farshtey's "the Great Beings are Glatorian" revelation, I thought I'd write things a little more ambiguously. Angonce's language is meant to be misleading-are the Great Beings Glatorian, or do they simply choose to appear so?-to give everybody the chance to interpret them as they see fit, whether that's taking Farshtey's revelation or ignoring it. ***Another unnamed Bionicle mask given a G2 name by me. ****The appearances of the Agori, Matoran, and Turaga recruited by Karzahni now resemble these bootlegs, with the exception of Ahkmou whose appearance change is based on this early design for G2 Mask Maker Makuta.
  13. There's a few different videos on YouTube, but the complexity of the model makes it quite the challenge. TTV channel has a fairly extensive thread on the subject including some lists that have been put together on imgur.
  14. Quite the interesting piece-looks like it would fit right in with the Mahri Nui line.
  15. This is an awesome piece of work-I've long had a soft spot for this kind of fiction, where the characters are aware that their characters and inhabit their own separate reality. Excellent piece of work.
  16. Indeed-it's kind of a shame really, as seeing an alternate model made up of all six of those sets would have been pretty sweet if it had been done well.
  17. Well Bricklink-which seems to be the go-to location for finding Lego you can't find anywhere else-has seven listings for Takutanuva, but only five for Voporak.
  18. The Green Dragon is nice; I'd like "Garma Mecha Man" more if it weren't a sad reminder of Lego's failure to produce Garmadon's Samurai Mech seen in the second season of Ninjago.
  19. So the Destroyer is on it's way, but if you know of a used one at a good price...
  20. So it occurred to me recently that no explanation was really given in the novels or comics-so far as I can think of-for the Toa Inika's weapons and how they came by them. I mean, sure you could probably just attribute it to the "magical/super sciency/destiny lightning" from the Red Star, but that just doesn't fit the pattern we've seen with previous teams of Toa: The Hagah were given their tools by their former teammates and/or the Brotherhood, which were transformed into their Rahaga tools before being reverted back. The Metru took their tools from among a collection found in the Great Temple; these were then briefly mutated into their Hordika tools. The Mata either had their tools with them when they awoke or received them while training on Daxia; these were transformed into their Nuva tools by Energized Protodermis before being replaced with their Adaptive Armor equipment by Artakha. Now, BIONICLEsector01 claims that the Inika tools were placed inside the Toa canisters by their builders and later claimed by the Inika after being charged up by the same lightning that transformed them. It seems a plausible enough information-if an afterthought given that they didn't mention it in the actual story at the time-but there's no source for it and this is the first time I've ever come across the information. Not saying I don't believe it, but it's a significant enough detail that I think it bears verification. Now, that being said, I'm not at all opposed to the idea that the Inika tools were originally other items transformed along with their Toa, similar to how Takua's Kolhii Staff-or the one he claimed in Onu-Koro, anyway-was transformed into the Staff of Light. Now, the matter becomes trickier when we remember that just about everything the future Inika were carrying was taken from them in Karzahni. Some ideas that come to mind: Jaller's sword could have originally been his little dagger that he whips out to use on Graalok in Mask of Light, only for it to never show up in any media again. Though Jaller wasn't putting up any kind of a fight, he does seem the type who would have a weapon concealed where you'd have to make a pretty thorough search in order to find it on him.Matoro's sword is more of a puzzle-the only tool really associated with him besides the Kolhii Staff is his ice pick, and I'm pretty sure that even if he brought that it would have been taken from him. As such, his sword would probably have been transformed from some implement he picked up while in Karzahni, like a poker from the forge or something.Kongu's crossbow is another stumper-the guy didn't really have any equipment associated with him, and there's nothing offhand that comes to mind as something that would transform into a crossbow unless the transformation prompted by the Red Star lightning was just totally random.Hahli's harpoon I could potentially see as having been a leftover fishhook she had on her; just a little nod to MNOGII.Hewkii's axe would most likely have been transformed from a hammer or hatchet he would have found in the forge, or perhaps among the various artifacts surrounding the Toa canisters.Nuparu's drill would probably also have been a forge tool or some leaving found in the Toa Canister workshop.Any thoughts?
  21. Excuse me, flight attendant, I ordered my stone rats well done, not alive and squirming. Silver Chute Spider
  22. Inary, what did the Bluru ever do to you? Mantax dies when Pridak's plan for the Ignika works-only for the Barraki to find themselves at the bottom of the ocean unable to breathe water. Kalmah
  23. It would have been nice to get an extra mask with him-like a great version of the Mask of Vulture. For Bitil, a reality check regarding the opinions of the other Makuta about him. Spiriah
  24. Pohatu: Quit glaring at me like that Gali! Gali: We're trapped in Stone, you're the Master of Stone-whose fault do you think this is?
