  1. Where on earth did the Mask of Healing come from? oO
  2. I brought it up but apparently it was too late for anything to be done about it (piece had been given away elsewhere). I'm only joking really by mentioning it here, I don't want to sound entitled. In terms of collectibles I actually own the rarest is probably my brown Matatu.
  3. Mask of Healing was one I wanted since very early on, in two variations. One to regenerate damaged armour/limbs, another to heal sickness and infection (perhaps cleanse infected masks?)
  4. I won a prototype piece as first prize for an epics contest on here... ... but due to subsequent server downtime it was forgotten about and never actually sent. I'm not bitter!
  5. My first ever character was a superheroine called Sluice in the Off-topic RPG To Save the World - and I'm still using her, nearly six years on!
  6. IC - Sluice @ Her flat Sleep embraced her almost the minute her head hit the pillow. It was the deep kind you only experience after a long, exhausting day, too deep even for dreams to find you. Sarah woke naturally with the sunlight - she'd been so tired last night she'd forgotten to close her curtains. She wasn't sure of the time but she knew it must still be morning, for the sun moved to the other side of the building in the afternoon. She lay for a while, not thinking, just enjoying the comfort and stillness. Eventually she sat up, rubbed her eyes and yawned. She was thirsty. She a pulled a tangle of hair out of her face and padded slowly out of her room. IC(NPC) - Triple-Helix @ Subject Testing Facility When Loadstone magnetically sent the machine to intercept the fireball streaking from Triple-Helix to himself, Skyra focused the wind currents completely on it, sending it careening toward the villainness. She didn't move as it crumpled against her - her superhuman endurance saw that it did little damage - but it still kept her busy for a few moments as she melted her way free of the metal. By that time Skyra had moved forwards, and was able to unleash a miniature cyclone that sucked Triple-Helix up and spat her across the room. Now that he saw what sort of damage she could take he was being less careful with his powers. She bounced and crashed across a row of desks, knocking computer terminals everywhere. She got up immediately, unharmed, her palms already filling with new fireballs to be thrown. She paused as a shadow passed over her; the machine that Loadstone had flung to deliberately miss her and strike the tank where Danielle Thomas was being held. Triple-Helix watched it thunk against the reinforced grass, the impact generating a star-shaped crack - not one deep enough to shatter the glass, unfortunately. Another cyclone whirled toward Triple-Helix and she flung a fireball at it. The flames were pulled outwards, becoming a circle of orange that momentarily hid her from view. What Skyra didn't expect was for her to come marching right through the spreading fire, and so it was with only a second's notice that he unleashed a burst of wind against the floor, propelling himself into the air and out of the path of the next fireball. "This the best the League could send?" She grunted mockingly. "The only thing I'm having trouble with here is deciding which of you to kill first!" She blasted a torrent of fire towards Skyra, who again used his wind powers to deftly dodge the stream. Triple-Helix didn't let up, however, sliding the river of fire left and right to follow the hero's movements. Skyra's full focus was on dodging; he had no space to strike back, and the rippling heat was already getting to him, as sweat started to dribble down his forehead...
  7. Brilliant use of that Alien Conquest head, and the entire thing looks solid - design-wise and colour-wise. If I were to quibble I'd say that the front skis look a little too short, although I don't know if there's a way of fixing that. Of course you simply must create a rider for it and photograph them together in the snow
  8. Great colour schemes (although I think Bidra would look better if you swapped all his white pieces for black ones) and you have certainly created very alien-style monsters with these creations. I love Aknorg's torso-eye.
  9. To answer this point - in the first case the Toa were already wearing one Kanohi when they summoned the others. I think GregF had stated that a Toa needs to be wearing a Kanohi in order to utilise their connection with a suva. Could be that wearing a mask enables that sort of mental link, or not wearing one makes a Toa too weakened to be able to focus on summoning another.
  10. It is pretty boring when it's been used several years in a row, and like others said it does bring to mind the overuse of the Inika torsos in Bionicle's later years, but I don't have a problem with it in HF. Maybe because I'm not as emotionally invested in the sets. But they still have plenty of MOCing potential, I'd only really dislike a torso piece if it were only able to be used in one way (*cough*Visorak*cough*)
  11. It's a just a case of saving time on design and/or deciding to reuse a good part design. It's not just Bionicle parts that get updates; a lot of old Lego system pieces have gotten improved versions made in recent years.
  12. Pretty obvious which one is going to win here. I prefer Bionicle also, though that's not to say I dislike Hero Factory. If I'd been the age I was when Bionicle began when HF started, I'd probably prefer that.
  13. Kopaka or Pohatu. I'm quite fond of Nuju too.
  14. I love those swirly marble gold ones that came in the Zamor accessory packs. Did an official set ever use them?
  15. Mate, I'm 23 and I still look for playability. Breakout Rocka is really a collection of standard HF torso/limb/armour pieces. The only real points of interest, part-wise, are those arms used to connect the blades to his gun and the 'ammo clip' piece (which I like a lot). If I were you I'd buy Brain Attack Rocka and if you really want the pieces unique to the Breakout version just get 'em on Bricklink.
  16. I really can't see this working for an extended time Even if parts didn't get 'lost', what about the mistreatment of bricks? I mean I used to chew on pieces all the time when I was a kid. Or they could come back covered in mud, paint, glue...
  17. I think pink/green would look nice on Bo-Matoran. Puts you in mind of flowers.
  18. Surely to 'overload' a Fa-Matoran's internal compass you'd need a magnetic force equivalent to the planet's own magnetic field? (Or Mata Nui's internal magnetic field, if he has one) The worst they'd probably experience is dizziness in any case, more of an annoyance than a flaw or weakness.
  19. I can't really say anything that the title doesn't. Sorry if this wasn't what you were expecting: If you click the thumbnail you can see the whole image on my deviantArt account, which I understand we're allowed to link to now? A problem I have is that I seem to overlook flaws in my art until someone else points them out, after which they're blindingly obvious. So constructively criticise to your heart's content! I mean, some praise would be nice too, if you mean it. But the criticism's more useful to me in the long run.
  20. I'm pretty sure when it comes to which themes Lego deems suitable to make, it goes like this: The Simpsons - company with millions of $ to spend behind it Firefly CUUSOO - no company with millions of $ to spend behind it
  21. They get sold on eBay (as Trydeltix said) if none of the employees want them. I worked at TRU and that was what we did with our LEGO displays.
  22. IC(NPC) - Triple-Helix @ Subject Testing Facility Triple-Helix swerved to avoid the toppled machine, pulling off a hairpin turn at the last second... and proceeded to run straight onto the pool of chemicals that had been spilt earlier. She slipped, skidded and crashed into a desk, spilling computer components and paperwork. There was a flash of sparks. A moment or two passed, then Triple-Helix tossed a keyboard aside and got to her feet, giggling. A large bruise was already starting to develop on her forehead. "Good... eheh heh hee..." Her head jerked and her eyes twitched as she laughed; it was some sort of verbal tic. "I should (heh) watch where I'm going... but you're, heh hee, you're not here to teach me to wear proper safety shoes, hehehe. You're here for the girl, aren't you?" Another spray of ice needles leapt from one of her hands toward Loadstone while snowflakes poured from the other; she was unleashing her power recklessly, without restraint, and the swirling white globe expanded around her to rapidly engulf half the room. Then, as quickly as the blizzard had formed it disappeared, the snow forced into clusters by a sudden series of wind currents. Skyra had joined the fray of battle, frowning as he concentrated on clearing the air for the other heroes. Epsilon appeared then, lunging at Triple-Helix with an arm shapeshifted into a blade of bone. Triple-Helix willed into being a blade of ice, parried at superspeed and sunk the weapon deep into Epsilon's shoulder. He staggered back with a cry; her attention turned to Skyra and in the blink of an eye she was back to her previous form, aiming a meteroic fireball... OOC: Triple-Helix's forms (these are all of them): Blonde-haired white woman - intelligent, pyrokinetic, superhuman strength Red-haired black woman - brutish, pyrokinetic, superhuman endurance Blue-haired asian woman - insane, cryokinetic, superhuman speed
  23. Loved the 2008 Mahri animation; must've watched it dozens of times.
