  1. I completely agree. I personally just find issue with the fact that apparently not helping the fight is on the same level as opposing it.

Or something like that, Idunno. I haven't been paying as much attention to the context and nuances of this whole thing as I probably should, so I can only go off of what I read and what the devil on my shoulder tells me to think (:P)

On a random note though I have an incredible amount of respect for how level headed you've managed to keep yourself throughout all this.

I would make some remark about not destroying my dear patriarchy but there's no way I'm even close to -not- being enslaved to L'amour de ma vie so I guess I can't.

By the way, I don't suppose you got my PM??? I feel really bad about the thought that I may have been far more offensive at any point than I meant to and actually hurt you in some way collaterally. :/

  2. Stereotypes come from a combination of incidents. Everything that depicts it is part of the problem.

And no fiction is made in a vacuum.

    Keep that in mind.

A stereotype in and of itself is not bad though, because it would not have become a stereotype if there were not some truth to it.

There is a difference between using a stereotype for comedic effect and using it with the intent to hurt someone, that is what should really be kept in mind.

  3. Yanno, since I just came back to the site there was a point where you totally confused me Smeag.

At first I thought you were a guy then someone told me you were a girl but then another person said you were a guy, so I just assumed you were one of those people who like confusing other people over the internet. And then at some point there was something about you being a guy identifying as a girl and I'm still just confused.

So I'll do my personal best to refer to you as she because you deserve that much if it's what you want but if I ever say he accidentally don't fault me for it cause I mean nothing by it, it's just a slip of the keyboard.

Just thought I'd throw that out there cause yeah. I picked the perfect time to become active on BZPower again.

  4. Thanks, Hawkeye; I appreciate the support! ^_^And yes, you totally should. We could use some new blood, especially with what I have planned. 8D(also, yes, Faunts are the best. M4 Part 2 is like, my favorite song ever since I finished ME1; I've listened to it every day for the past week or so. xp)

Look into some of their other songs. After beating ME3 and realizing Das Malefitz was the credits song, I bought two of their albums and have been listening to them almost non stop in between other Birthday Musics, they're incredibly awesome, and I need to check around and see if they're doing any concerts ever, considering they're all from Edmonton where I live :P

Some other good songs of theirs are "Sleepwalker," "M4 pt 1," and "Meno Mony Falls."

But enough about Music, I really do hope you at least get third. Havn't checked the polls and i'm kinda scared to do so, but i remember back when you proposed Night Ride... unfortunately I've always been busy with other RPGs :P

  5. Again though, you said "lego has been forced to feel the wrath of a victim of deep corruption." If you were referencing scouts in that, then maybe i'd be less inclined to believe you meant Lego was corrupt, but as it stand it's basic english - don't say something when you don't mean it towards the subject of the sentence.

And regardless of whether or not your scouts leader was a Tyrant or not, and regardless of whether or not she's proud of herself, You won in the end. You overcame her. You're still letting it eat away at you after you won. You weren't hardened by it if you still care that much.

My parents got divorced, my dad mentally abused me and did things that i can't even mention on this site. When I was younger my life sucked, but it hardened me - and it does't eat away at me every day. Just like you Bionicle was my getaway from reality; you wouldn't believe how many stories i wrote, or started to, for Bionicle. But i didn't let it change me, and i most definitely don't dwell on it, or use it as an excuse.

I'm not a nice person, and i can be really hard to get along with. Do i blame my dad and the events in my early life for it? ###### yes.

But do i use them as an excuse for my own actions? No. No matter what happened in my life, my thoughts, my feelings, my actions are my own, and I can't hide behind the events of my earlier life for them in the end.

Blame your scouts leader for the way you are all you want, but in the end no one's responsible for here and now but you. Bionicle isn't going to help you heal or give you something to look forward to in life - the only way you're going to heal is if you stop dweling on previous events and start looking at yourself for what's wrong. You can't hide behind those events forever.

I'm fifteen, my birthday was two days ago. My parents got divorced when I was thirteen and before that, every day i was with my dad was like being in a personal ######. You're twenty two and the stuff that happened only ended as long ago as mine did. But these events you're blaming for your actions didn't occur through eight or nine years of your life... they aren't happening now.

So please, please, just try to look at yourself and see what's wrong. Because if you refuse to even attempt a change to get things back to the way they used to be in your life, they never will. You'll always be able to say that your scout leader was horrible, that'll never change - but what can change is the way you say it changed you. You can either say that it changed you for the better, making you a stronger person, or it changed you for the worse, making you weaker.

And no offence, because i never mean any... but right now, if i were you, i'd be hard pressed to say it changed me for the better.

  6. Read the books. The fact that the dogs stand on two legs and have the eyes of the other tributes is revealed, it's way. way. way. scarrier.

    (sry for spoilin :P)

As far as Rue goes, her relationship with Katniss goes on over three long chapters. Not ten minutes in film. If you make an alliance based on neccessity when you know one of you has to die, it makes no sense to literally rage as Katniss did. Just based on the events of the movie alone, Katniss was shown only to trust Rue, not care for her, as was shown in the book. In the book the reason Katniss cares for Rue is because she's so similar to Prim - no mention of, or attempt to show that is ever made in the movie.

  7. Personally the movie was fairly accurate, except for a few things.

A: Rue. Ten minutes of screen time for Rue in what was the most touching part of the book, culminating in her death and a raging katniss that, for someone going in, had no reason to rage

B: The Mutts. They weren't dogs, they were dog-like. And could stand on their hind legs. Much scarier.

C:Too much Filler made the important scenes go too quickly. Peeta and Katniss have that relationship out of necessity, at least in Katniss' case. It developed too quickly for my taste, especially when Katniss was more or less ready to kill him before he "Saves" her.

Oh well, everyone sees it the way they see it. Everyone i've talked to IRL (went on a school field trip to see it) agrees that it's a great movie, but not the greatest adaptation of the movie. Too much important stuff was rushed or skipped over, and too much filler.

  8. What Aanchir said sums up the majority of my thoughts, really.

The only thing that i'm really going to say, and don't take this as me trying to be mean, is that you need to grow a bit of a thicker skin.

Now i know everyone takes things differently, but i was bullied by my best friends for the first eight years of my in-school life. One year's kinda hard to compare. But really, who cares if someone doesn't like you when you'll be miles away and won't have to think about them once sometime in the future.

If all you have to live for is the Return of Bionicle, then you're letting stuff get to you too easily.

    EDIT:

And again, not to be mean, but your whole thing about Pokemon championships not inviting australia, and you thus hating them forever, and stuff like that... Even your incessant use of the word "banned" in relation to the end of Bionicle, just makes me think one thing.

Now correct me if i'm wrong and i'm only stating what I see, but that kind of attitude i usually attribute with people who've been spoiled their whole lives and are only realizing the truths of life when they get older and have to go on their own.

    In short... Spoiled Brat. :/

  9. Easy to Prove. Look anywhere.

"Quick Q" isn't a phrase, considering "Q" Is an oft used way of quickly saying question. Hence Q&A.

    Quick Q isn't original.

And as far as the actual masks went, the GB's created a great variety of life. The Toa, Matoran, and Turaga are all essentially part of the same species, and so fundamentally must be quite similar. Hence why each loses power when they lose their mask. Think of it as the difference between a child, an Adult, and an Elder. The Child has none of the experience or knowledge to survive, whereas the Toa and Turaga have much more power and experience with which to do so.

Fundamentally the three are the exact same species, just "evolutions" of it. Thus they must all share key characteristics, such as their element, latent elemental powers, and reliance on Masks.
