  1. uh, let's be completely honest here. Being an author is not a stable job. You might either get lucky and go mainstream and get rich, or you could become a Van Gogh esque struggling artist. I'm not saying don't try it, but its not a question if you should take the million dollars. With some good investments, you can become insanely rich while living in comfort working on your books and pursuing your publishing contract.

and for that matter, most Halo fanboys I know would not recommend ODST

    Wow, really?

I'm sorry, but it's one thing to read a blog entry and offer your opinions on it, and it's another entirely to bash down the door to said entry and rip it into shreds.

First things first, ODST was an amazing game. However, had you read the entry in it's entirety, you'd see Miss Firesword opted not to get it.

Back to business, i'm going to say this. There are a lot of people on this site who want to become authors. I'm one of them, and i can tell you now, that between a million bucks and a deal with a publishing company that it would be an insanely hard choice. Regardless of the options, it's a shared dream between Firesword and I alike to become Authors, so regardless of the chances of becoming rich, there's something to be said for the fact that it's a dream.

After all, if one takes the million dollars, who says that they'll ever find a publisher that's willing to publish the book again?

I'm pretty much one hundred percent sure that she knows the fact that being an author is not a stable job, but who said it would be her only job? I saw no such thing, so please god next time think a little before you make a comment that's primarily stating that one should virtually abandon their dream if a million dollars comes into the picture.

  2. Wooo Hoo Go Lady Kay!

I hope all that woks out, you're way overdue for some good luck, and stalking the doctors till you get some sort of solution seems like the perfect way to do it =D

I'll pull support with Vezok's Friend here too =D

  3. Next people will be complaining about Harry Potter ending =/

seriously. but obviously harry potter is hanging in there because the fans are not whining or asking when is it really going to die. I wonder why...

I am sort of glad it ended. I mean, I would have liked to have had one extra year (it was too rushed on Bara Magna...), but now I feel a nice sigh of relief. I can work on all sorts of stories, art, etc, and not be held back by the story. I have a large webcomic planned, and now I'm not daunted by a storyline poking holes in it.

Sadly, it's almost worthless to argue about. I'm not going to say '12 year olds' because there are plenty of bright, logical young people, an age=/=maturity; but I'm sure you get my point.

    XD Young Peoplez Referance.

    (not me, imma newb tho)

I agree though, it doesn't pay to whine and whine about something. I myself am perfectly content to sit back and write my stories without canonality intruding, while the world goes by around me and the crazy people outside my window scream their pants off about something that could not be avoided.

Seriously, i would be that half of the people who currently abuse the Greg quote would be just as bad if not worse had Bionicle Continued.

Like i always said, if you're going to use a Quote, understand it, and for the love of god don't hide behind it.

  4. Thing is if you've already bought the game then it's your fault for not waiting.

Sides, buying on 360 you DO get Cerberus Network Free, or at least i did, which includes many of the slightly expensive DLC completely free...

Better deal than buying the 360 game(s) for 60 bucks, then turning around and slapping another 60 bucks down on the same game for a different platform, even if said version includes a ton of DLC. It's the difference between 120 bucks and 75.

Oh, and since ME1 isn't ON PS3, Bioware has to give people some sort of incentive to buy. It's a good marketing decision.

  5. Look, there's a difference between outright saying it's not going to work based on nothing, and saying it's not going to work based on a whole years worth of seeing this.

I'm not taking sides of anyone, all i'm saying is that Laughin'Man ain't hating on you guys for no reason, much less hating on you guys at all. He has a valid reason for his opinons, and i mean no offence when i say this, but YOU'RE the ones that seem to be laying down the hate right now.

Please guys, why can't we be civil about this. Laughin' has his own opinion of this based on Experience, you have yours. but let's not start sectioning people off into groups based on variations of Opinion. That's like taking A lego Fan and a Mega Bloks fan and telling people that only one is allowed to like building "block" toys.

  6. So I got in a car crash yesterday. I saw the car fly off the road, and then everything went black.

In my dream, I was the star. It was me.

And then the big man came for a little one-on-one.

But it turned out to be crazy what kind of dunks he had. Air like that is unreal. It doesn't even happen.

After a brief incident involving a ruler, I woke up.

I was in a hospital bed. The doctors told me that they had to perform an emergency heart transplant, but that I was going to be fine now. They said I could go home if I wanted to, so I did.

Once I got home, I began thinking about my dream. Eventually, I reached the only logical conclusion. I had been Bionicle, and the big man was Hero Factory. Now I knew what it felt like to be stabbed in the back by the company that created me, and it was horrible.

Bionicle didn't deserve this, but what's done is done. All we can do now is try our hardest to convince Lego to bring it back. If that's what you're going to do, I want to help. If we can get enough people to tell Lego they want Bionicle back, they'll have to bring it back. It's just common sense.

To put it simply, I'm sorry if I've ever tried to force my ridiculous views on your infallible logic. All I want now is for you to forgive me and let me join your club. Is that too much to ask?

Sarcasm, good sir (madam?) gets you nowhere.

    Not of this scale.

Believe me, while i'd love Bionicle to come back, in some ways i prefer it this way. Ever since bionicle ended there's been a billion and one more chances for something the average joe member makes to become part of the official storyline, and really, when we think about it, Bionicle as a whole is not dead, only the sets are. The Heart of Bionicle's Fanbase, the story, is still around, albiet at a much lower profile than before.

So while i won't completely take -your- side in this whole "Bring Bionicle Back/Getting bashed for wanting it" thing, i won't entirely take the side of the people who say it could never work.

The Logic of many a group that does this is slightly skewed, in that a single email listing the names of a dozen out of six billion people who want Bionicle back might GET it back, but it doesn't hurt to try. The only thing is that every person who's emailed Lego about this, has gotten the same official letter about how Bionicle was ended and the toy line is being "continued" in Hero Factory.

I don't agree with the people bashing you for trying, but i also don't -entirely- agree with you guys for going and doing the same thing hundreds of others on this site has done, tried, and failed.

Just my thoughts, edit them if you will i suppose, doesn't make any difference.

EDIT: and on a note pertaining to your argument about popularity, depends on the idea. Screen Stretching Pictures are a widespread problem, so someone bringing up an idea to make sure there's the least amount as possible on BZPower isn't going to get bashed. If someone starts saying we should bring Bionicle Back, they're going to get bashed because the argument's been done and redone for over a year now, with no more success each time. Mostly people just get tired of seing the same thing over and over again.
