  1. If the seller was in Europe it's probably safe to assume the mask came from one of those packs. Not sure about rarity, I don't think there's any hard data out there on rarity within a specific mask pack. But, if the probability of any mask in the pool within a pack is pretty much equal, then you would think it's about as rare as a Light Blue Kaukau with the bubble cheeks. Maybe post in the Official Rare and Promotional Collectibles topic about it, some people with more knowledge on these things there might have more answers for you. I'm curious too about it's rarity, it is a weird overlooked piece for sure.
  2. So I'm not sure about any more recent info, but there is a pretty good post in the Official Rare and Promotional Collectibles Topic on these. They seem to be an early production unit using a mold that was closer to the prototype mold than what we eventually got. I don't think they're incredibly common, but are probably looked over a lot, unlike the light blue variants, because they aren't a neat unique color. I have one of them, and I can tell you I found it in a batch of sealed Euro Mask Pack Polybags along with other masks you would normally find in those packs (noble misprints) and interestingly enough, a raised cheek bubble light blue Kaukau. Do you happen to know where you got yours from?
  3. Good Trades/Sales Toa Trisabelle - Great and prompt communication, really willing to work towards a trade both parties were comfortable with, excellent packaging, and overall a really pleasant and understanding trade partner -TD- - Excellent communication and smooth trade partner, shipped quickly with decent packaging and items came in better condition than described which was a plus tritoa - Good and fair trade partner. Purchase went well. A bit slow on communication but everything shipped in great packaging and was as described Max Nui - Good trade partner, communication was great and friendly, and trade was fair, shipping was prompt with decent packaging OSSO - Communication was pretty spotty at times (had to reach out to confirm they got the trade) but the actual trade as a whole with the shipment, packaging, and fairness was great Mask Hunter Lewa - Purchase went great, very prompt and friendly communication. Shipping was great as well as packaging
  4. Thank you for your comment. Yeah I had actually originally planned for it to be more curved and circular, although I didn't seem to necessarily pull that off real well on the legs. I'm glad that you also like the Mata hands a lot. Thanks, although to be honest it's not that detailed really. Nonetheless I'm humbled by your remark. The body was what really inspired the idea, so I'm gad that it's the most eye catching to you. Thanks for your comments and....well support, I guess.
  5. Thanks, the head was the original concept which sprouted the entire MOC, and I'm glad you like it. To be honest that is the exact problem with the legs, because they look so flexible and, well skinny, they don't fit with the rest of the MOC at all, but it's interesting to know you like them. I originally intended to incorporate light grey into the it but decided against that later on, I don't know maybe I'll try to swap out some pieces and see what works. Thanks for the comment though. I'm happy you enjoyed the color scheme, cause that was the main goal of it, to get the orange parts to pop out more. I would absolutely love to do what you suggested to the legs, but I'm not necessarily sure if I have any more of those pieces, although I completely agree with you on the idea. I'm happy you like the arms, was going kind of for a classic look with the Mata hands and all. Maybe I'll try to incorporate another color if I have a lack of those black dome pieces. Thanks for the review. I'm glad that it looks so slick and uniform to you, as that was the original plan for it, so I feel like I was able to actually achieve some success in that area ^.^. Thanks for the comment and I'm happy you also enjoy the colour scheme. Screw things? Do you mean the Black system domes on the arms and the head? Kind of confused on which piece you are talking about. Thanks, the torso is probably the part I'm the most proud of overall, as it was originally what I build first. Yeah I tried moving the orange plate already a few times, and I think I can get it to look a bit better like that. I'm happy you like the mata hand design too ^.^ . Yeah I've scrapped the legs multiple times to be honest, but I'll try to fix them. I tried digitigrade legs, although I'm not very good at making them but somehing like what you did might work pretty well on it. I'll see what I can do. Yeah the thighs are the worst part by a longshot. Thanks for the review though I appreciate it.
  6. Happy Birthday good sir, hope your day is absolutely wonderful.
  7. So it's been a while since I really built anything out of Lego in general, and to be honest I've actually missed the overall joy of it. Anyways, I'll just cut to the chase. This was just a free build Moc that I just felt like doing since it's been a while since I've actually finished something, considering the mass amount of WIPs I have laying around my room. Nonetheless, it was a ton of fun to build, although I'm still really annoyed and unsatisfied with the overall outcome of it, specifically the hideous legs. And now for the pictures. (Click for gallery when public) Front Back Top Crouching Kneeling Sorry about the lighting quality in some of the pictures, I hadn't realized I had knocked my light askew a bit. I would really appreciate any help with the legs, as they are the part of the Moc that I'm by far the most upset about. Anyways, any comment or constructive criticism would highly be appreciated, and thank you in advance.
  8. Bohrok, simply better as sets and story wise also in my opinion. I mean the Krana were just so much cooler in comparison to the Kraata. Plus I can't stand the leg design of the Rahkshi, specifically the lower legs, they're just so hideously long and...ugh I just don't like them at all.
  9. I think he means trying to show off but faking it. Like Randy on Monk. :POr like Matau...Anyways, yeah, I think most of these do fit really well. I've often noticed a similar thing with the Toa Mata, haven't really thought to apply it to the Metru / Turaga Mata. The Mata ones are more obvious since they're closely tied to their elements, and their personalities were most like their elements.I was thinking about the Mata and their Kanohi too, and I agree that most of them relate to the user's personality. However, I was a bit puzzled by Tahu and his Hau, as fire doesn't seem particularly related to a shield, and Tahu is generally an offensive fighter barring use of his mask.~B~That's what struck me when I first looked at this topic. Tahu's really doesn't seem to fit him, as he's not a very defensive type at all, resolving more on simply charging into a fight. Maybe it has something to due with his passion for protecting those he is responsible for, as in his village and fellow Toa? I don't know it is still kind of strange.
  10. Considering the pile of Technic and Bionicle pieces littering one corner of my room, I guess I would have to say they are just resources. I mean at first when I was younger I bought sets solely for what was on the box, what was supposed to be built out of the parts inside. But around the start of the Voya-Nui saga in 2006, I kind of just started buying sets for the parts they offered. I remember buying the 2008 version of Takanuva simply for all the wonderful recolored white pieces he had, I'm pretty sure I didn't even build him. But yeah, to me my sets are resources.
  11. I stopped visiting BZPower frequently around 2009, and after a while just didn't get on at all from 2010 till about a month ago. So yeah, I'd say my longest break was about two and a half years, and I must say a lot has changed since then. As for the reason for that break, well my education began to fill up most of my free time during those years and overall I didn't have much time to use on my own personal hobbies. Plus, I mean I kind of lost interest in Bionicle as a whole over that period of time.
  12. I practically never visit the Lego Discussion Forum, Affiliates Forum, and the Completely Off Topic Forum. I also tend to avoid the comedy and games and trivia sub forums, there's something about them that just kind of shoos me away just I don't know. And of course I don't really visit the marketplace, as I'm not looking to buy or sell.
  13. Music is such a beautiful medium.

  14. It's kind of sad that you haven't gotten a review yet, I mean personally I feel quite discontented when I see anything in the creative forums get completely looked over. As for that, I will take the time to review this product of your imagination and creativity. As a forward note though, I apologize if I'm slightly harsh or cruel with my criticism as it is not my goal to deter you from MOCing, but to help you with your creation. Anyways on to the review.OK let's start at the top, where it seems to connect to the....giant lime wheel. I'm not sure whether you just took upside down pictures or whether you somehow attached that wheel to the shelf, but never mind that, I'm not here to correct your photography. The wheel's color is not helping at all, and personally I think you can do quite better than just a wheel for a base. If you want to go wild I would recommend building a box of three walls out of Technic beams so that you could essentially mount the top of it to this roof. Another idea would be to simply construct a round cylindrical pillar and make the "neck" of what I presume is an AI unit, coming out of that pillar. Either way I would mess around with ideas like that, as the green wheel thing is just overall unappealing in my humble opinion. The tubing on the top of the "arm" is very nice in my opinion, as it gives it a mechanical feel and all, yet I believe it's just kind of there. Maybe if you added more throughout the MOC or simply wired it in more unique ways it would look better. Other than that, you kind of need to fix all the gaps up there, as they really deter the quality of the creation as a whole. What pieces to use I wouldn't really be sure of, but giving it a rounded look would probably benefit it a lot if you where going for a GLaDOS look. The back of the lower "arm" however is quite nice and solid with those Tahu Mistika shield pieces, as you joined them fairly well at the ends to give a flowing look to it. The random joints flying all around the outsides of the MOC kind of ruin it too, for what you are going for I would only allow tubing and wire-like structures to hang around outside of the "arm." Now the head part, well I feel like if you again, make it more rounded as a whole it would look a lot more aesthetically pleasing than it currently is. Also you should maybe use this piece for the eye, as I feel like it suits what you are trying to build much better than the gear. Other than that, maybe a good idea would to build this MOC out of system pieces if you have any, as they are a lot more rounded and would flow better with the whole GLaDOS idea of yours. Well I hope this review is helpful, and again I'm sorry if I sound a bit harsh.
  15. I tend to store a majority of my parts in my old canisters, usually correlating the color of the canister with the color of the parts contained inside it. Other than that, back when I still "played" with my Bionicle sets, me and a friend of mine did use them to create villages, essentially using them as walls.
  16. Ok it's review time. I haven't built or reviewed a moc in a while so it may not be very good but I'm gonna give it my best shot. I'm gonna start from the top down I guess. For starters, as a previous poster mentioned, the lack of a third color kind of hurts the overall end product a lot more than one would expect. You seem to have some black littered about the design as seen on the leg joints, which would is a possible candidate for your third underlying color, yet at the same time Zaktan's shoulders have a mix of Metru Gray and Black, which is kind of confusing to say the least. If I where you I would try to use either black or Metru Gray and not both, although which of these colors you wish to use is solely up to you, because to be honest I don't know which would look more appealing, although I'm leaning towards the black personally since it would blend very nicely with the vast amount of pegs in the moc. Know for the head and upper body, I personally think it looks good. The matching of the eye color with Zamor Sphere was a nice little touch and the overall hunched back is wonderful looking on a Skakdi in my opinion. The layering of Green and Gold is incredibly done along with fact that you added some depth to the original set, as in the three dimensionality of his torso in general. You did a good job in covering most gaps in the upper body minus the gray (++) pieces on the back, which would be fine if they were just black as that alone would help them blend in a lot more effectively. As for the random black pegs sticking out of the green Metru feet, if they aren't holding anything up or together you may want to flip them or swap them with a tri-peg so they are facing the inside, and then simply build off of them like that to fix your gaps on his back. There's not much to say about the arms really, they fit him well considering he is a revamp, although again a third color would of helped make it look a bit better in my opinion. Also, maybe simply using a three length peg on the upper shoulders instead of the two length one so that you could stick a Metru Knee or Inika Knee piece behind the shoulder spines would help the overall back of the model in general. I would recommend using one in Metru green, as to not clash with the spine. The rest of the arms are fine as is minus coloring issues, and the weapons are good too although I feel like if you colored the Zamor launcher or simply added some sort of custom aiming device onto it it might make it look a bit better. Now on to the Torso as a whole. First off wow, you did an excellent overall job on the upper body, front and back. You've filled in most of the gaps and done an excellent job in color layering with the green and gold to the point were it truly looks like the gold is armor plating and not just part of his body. The depth of the model is also incredibly done, totally loving the lower back and the fact that you used a Piraka foot as the base for the front of the body. The connection joint to the Vahki waist is nicely done, and again I love the lower back underneath the spine. Does he have waist articulation? I can't really tell but if he does then that's definitely very nicely done as it seems you used that joint on the back of the Vahki waist to it's full potential. Onto the legs, and in my opinion the most lackluster part of the work as a whole. The upper legs are nicely done on the sides with the Visorak feet, but the front of them is, well yeah just unimpressive as a whole. Try using two of the (+oo+) pieces instead on the top of it in order to connect that knee pad, as that will get rid of the jutting peg which is honestly one of the only real bad parts of the legs. However that may also make it jut out too much overall, which wouldn't help much. Know the Triple jointed legs are absolutely splendid, I'm thrilled that your revamp has them as I've always thought Skakdi would look great with them, and you've definitely proven me right in my opinion. I've got no gripes about them at all. The rest of the legs and the feet are good, although some thing about the Inikia Knee pads on the lower legs irks me out, but whatever I bet it's just me.Overall, it's a really solid revamp with only a few minor flaws which all seem to be easily fixable. Again like I said I haven't moced or reviewed in a while so my advice may not be that helpful. Also, sorry if I was harsh with this review, again its been a while since I did one of these. Hope this helps you out some.
  17. Time, something I wish I had more of...

  18. Ah ok, I think I remember you now lol.

  19. Odd how some how you always find yourself right where you started isn't it.

  20. Um.....thanks i guess. Sorry but I really don't remember any of the people from this site. Again, thanks for breaking the ice.

  21. lol mostly my fault, I'll warn you next time I disappear. I'll pm you tomorrow when I'm more awake

  22. Haven't been on in god knows how long, just hear to say I'm alive lol, hopefully I'll be active again now.

  23. Yeah Halo is great. I have not gotten Reach yet though, but people have ruined the story for me =P. It's a great ending if you ask me, even if it was sad.
