  1. Yes I know that much. :P

What I mean is how do I know how much time I have left before all that happens?

How long did you buy premiership for? Go here if you need to see when you bought premier membership (find your name on the list). Calculate how long you bought it for from that date, and then you'll have the date it runs out. :) (e.g. purchase of 1 year from Sep. 25th 2009 will last until Sep. 25th 2010. Six month membership from then would last until Mar. 25th, 2010)

  2. Hmm...I'm not getting that VAVOOM of inspiration, but I'll give this a try. Please don't delete this entry though, Tifosi. =\

Cool. I'll put you up in the list pending a story, but if you can't come up with anything, no big deal. I won't be deleting this, because there are plenty of writers who have offered to lend a hand :)

  3. -A slightly more sorrowful story set on Bara Magna during the Core War.

I love war stories, and I think this would be better than any of the others so far, depending again on how it's written. But I have no doubt you'll pull it off well.

You're out of luck, 'cause I'm almost finished with the Kolhii songfic right now. :P I had more motivation to write the one I've gone with than any of the others because of the song behind it. You'll have to wait 'til the fourteenth to see it, though. I might pursue some of these ideas in the future if other projects/school don't get in the way.

The inspiration behind the Core War story would've been from "My Very Dear Sarah", an apparently popularly documented love letter from a Civil War soldier to his wife on the day before his death. The similarities were there, but I think it would've been too short, and not focused enough on romance for a V-Day story.

-Another S&D "fanfic" concerning the still unconfirmed "romance" between Dekra and Ayla.

This would be quite cool. Especially if it's anywhere near as cool as The Sniper. =P

So I guess my favorites are the last two and the second. It really depends more on the plot and how things are written that what has been said above, so I'm not exactly sure what I would like to see the most.

In the end, I most likely would've gone with this one if it weren't for the fact that I had written "Wish You Were Here" not even a month ago. :P Haven't really figured out how I want their relationship to go in the full story, and didn't want to give away an ending before I had decided on a suitable conclusion. I also didn't want to create too many alternate plotlines, either. *lol* If you want more to read more from S&D, "Wish You Were Here" is still without any reviews...

  4. Whoo, sounds fun. I'd love to read and review some stories if I get some time, as well as write that Kiina x Berix story I've been planning on :sly:

Just for lulz, here are links to two stories I wrote quite a while ago that would fit the theme, even though they're so outdated I really don't care for any more reviews, The Telescopic Eye and Shift.

    Soo... count me in ^.^

    ~ck

Cool! Would you like me to add one of the stories you linked to, or do you want to wait me to wait until you finish writing the Kiina/Berix story before I add one of your stories to the list? I suppose you could have two stories--I just want to know if you wanted the linked ones on the list or not. :)

  5. Okay, here's a reason not to get it.

    It's an Apple product.

    You liked Microsoft.

    Think it over ;)

I don't think this is necessarily true for everyone--my Dad hates Apple products probably more than anyone else I know, and never thought he'd end up with an iPhone, but he did. And let me tell you, it will be perfect for you if you need a mobile way of sending and receiving e-mails and browsing the web. For that alone, it's worth it. There are plenty of apps on it to keep you busy, as well, and because it also plays movies and music, you should be good for a while. :P The only complications he had with it was setting up a way to sync e-mail accounts with his computer; because it can't use any of the Apple e-mail apps, he had to get it working through g-Mail or something. I can't remember exactly. As far as damaging it goes, there are screen protectors and a number of cases you can buy that are small and unobtrusive, yet protect it against a hard impact if you drop it. Can't remember what brand he has; I think it was OtterBox or something.

I personally don't think I'd need one--getting along fine now without a cellphone--but everyone has different tastes. :) If mobile e-mail/texting is your thing, I'd say go with it.

  6. I think I know the answer--may have seen it on the History Channel once. :P

The French rigged crooked pictures with explosives so that when the Germans came into the houses and straightened them, they would detonate. The Germans, as you said, had a reputation for being neat, and couldn't stand the sight of crooked pictures.

I could be totally off (I probably am *lol*), but I saw the riddle and decided to post just 'cause I'm a WWII history geek. :P

  7. Hey, that's good to hear that you're getting fully recovered. I remember when that accident happened last year--for the most part, it seems like it's healed fairly quickly. ^_^

And also, have sorta fallen off of the sig report bandwagon... Life has piled up and the time I spend on BZP isn't spent reading a variety of topics anymore, sadly. Someday, though, I might get back to it--who knows. :P

  8. Never heard the first one before...

As some random person who's name I can't remember said, "Nearly all famous quotes are misquoted. Including this one, most likely." (not exact quote)

The first one's from Dirty Harry. Y'know, Clint Eastwood, .44 Magnum, all that stuff? :P

There was a segment of a radio show I listened to a while ago where they corrected, like, 15 popularly misquoted movie lines. It's a shame I can't remember more than those three.

  9. I'm starting to wonder if Mercedes is sandbagging, they're slow, or Rosberg is just slow. :P I think we might get our first clear indications of the pace-setters tomorrow when Schumacher, Button, and Alonso take to the track.

Kudos to Kobayashi as well--to see him win a race in the Sauber this year would be awesome.

  10. Best ones:

"Dare to be Stupid With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher"

"We Will Rock You With an Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher"

The first one is my favorite. :P

"Have a Cigar With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - Pink Floyd ("Come in here dear boy, have a doublebarreledapocalypticrocketlauncher you're gonna go faaaaar!" *lol*)

"On the Run With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - Pink Floyd

"Comfortably Numb With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - Pink Floyd

"Man With a Mission (and) a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - Don Henley

"Life in the Fast Lane With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - The Eagles

"Renegade With a Double-Barreled Apocalyptic Rocket Launcher" - Styx

You've butchered my music library!

  11. Well, since you took the time to bump this, I read Flying Alone. I am by no means an expert writer, but I think it was quite good and had a touching and profound message. Everything was fairly clearly and descriptively written. One thing, though: you wrote "constantly intervene frequently," which doesn't really make sense - is he intervening constantly or frequently? - but otherwise I noticed nothing wrong. Good work.

Thanks for pointing that out. I really need to get better at accurately wording stuff. :annoyed2: I actually found and fixed another error when I read through it as well.

Thanks again for the read--any feedback at all is appreciated. ^_^

EDIT: Awesome gradient text, by the way.
