I teamed up with a few other builders to create the unseen and unnamed members of the Toa Cordak, and I chose to build the Toa of Stone. You can find links to the other creations on the photo I posted to Flickr. On an unrelated note, this is my 1000th post on BZP!

In terms of build, Toa Poraru is mostly a color-swapped Emperor clone with some minor changes, but this is deliberate since they're the same character, technically. Their torso may seem the most variant, but the structure is actually 100% the same, however instead of Armor Poraru just uses fabric to cover it up. One "non-canon" difference is that Poraru is one unit shorter - The Mata head limits posability when using a 3-length axle, but the neck looks comically long with a 4-length, however with the Emperor, I could use the cape to compensate. In Poraru's case, there is no cape and he'd look really stupid with a longer neck. However, "story-wise", Poraru and the Emprero are the same height. Backstory: Toa Poraru was once a completely ordinary and uninteresting Toa of Stone. He had some misgivings about the Toa code and sometimes was vocal about this, but other than this, he was a by-the-book Toa doing his duty. He and his Toa team protected their small village somewhere in a minor island of the Southern Isles. His life was entirely unremarkable until a few centuries before Teridax's uprising, a Makuta went mad on the Northern Continent (presumably due to a poorly conducted experiment) and went into a crazed rampage. The Brotherhood wanted to contain him, but were unsuccessful, and fearing a controversy, instead "lured" the Makuta southward. Poraru's team heard in advance of what was coming their way, and planned to intercept the enraged Makuta in a region far from their village. They succeeded in this endeavor, and together the six of them even managed to defeat the Makuta, however it was in a complete blood-rage and wouldn't give up. Poraru's suggestion to "put the Makuta out of its misery" was repeatedly rejected by the leader of the team citing the Toa Code. However, their attempts to contain the bestial creature failed, and after escaping, it headed straight for their village. By the time the Toa arrived, the village was in ruins and the Matoran massacred. This was the last straw for Poraru - the Toa Code which in the past had merely inconvenienced him, was now directly responsible for the death of those he swore to protect. Desiring vengeance, he set off to kill the Makuta, and was joined by two other Toa from his team who shared his views, while the other three remained and effectively exiled them. They tracked down the Makuta, and since they now fought to kill, their change in strategy caught him off-guard, allowing them to injure him severely. Alas, once again, their prey got away. In retaliation for the injury, it swing back to the ruins and ambushed the three Toa who refused to hunt him down. Blaming themselves for the death of their brothers, Poraru and the other two Toa swore to finally end the rampage of this crazed Makuta. On their third confrontation, thanks to the injury, they finally killed him - however only Poraru survived the conflict. Having lost any purpose in life, he began wandering about the Southern Isles. At one point, in a seedy inn, he overheard a boastful merchant from Stelt bragging about finding a source of Energized Protodermis which wasn't under the control of either the Brotherhood of Makuta nor the Hand of Arthaka. He "persuaded" the merchant to reveal the location of the font, and travelled there immediately. He knew that anyone coming into contact with energized protodermis is either killed, or, provided they yet have an unfulfilled destiny, changed. If he dies, so be it, but if this would give him a new purpose, all the better. Upon arriving to the cave, he was surprised to see that the merchant did not mislead him, and plunged into the pool. When he emerged, he saw his reflection on nearby crystal formations - he hadn't changed much, but the color of his armor was now black and silver. In his mind floated, ever present, two words - "Emperor" and "Unity". He was compelled to return to the site of his former village. On this journey, he began making some realizations. His control over Stone was gone, replaced by telepathic, telekinetic and teleconductive abilities. Then, he realized he can revert to his old form at will, and then his control over Stone returns at the expense of his new abilities. In dream, he realized his new purpose in life was to achieve absolute Unity across the known world. For this, he'd need followers. During his journeys, he sought out disenfranchised warriors, exiled Toa, former Dark Hunters and any other beings who would follow him. They returned to his old home and founded the United Southern Empire. Planning his expansion, a single problem constantly returned - Metru Nui. He hadn't the military force to conquer it, and it would never join the Empire willingly so long as it was governed by a Turaga and overseen by a Makuta. If he'd push northward gradually, annexing and conquering smaller lands and working his way up, they'd make note of the threat and send an army of Toa against him. However, he had one advantage - everyone who knew he once broke the Toa code was dead. As far as Metru Nui was concerned, Poraru was still Toa Poraru. And thus the plan was born - he alone would venture north, while his lieutenants would continue the conquest of the south. He, as Poraru, would infiltrate the Toa order, while as the Emperor would gain the support of other factions, so that unwittingly all players in the north would further the imperial cause. His plan was upended by Teridax's uprising against the Great Spirit, and during his Reign of Shadows, the Emperor fought alongside the Toa Resistance against Teridax's forces, all the while ensuring the secret of Poraru and he being one and the same didn't get out. When Teridax fell and Spherus Magna was united, the Emperor led his people to a new home, from which they would endeavor to unite this new world. Flickr Album: click here. As always, comments and criticism is welcome!

The legendary elemental creatures are thought to be as old as Okoto itself - as well as their tireless hunter, Umarak. However, the creatures were not always the small, frail beings who rely on the Toa for protection that we know today. Long ago, the elemental creatures were great aspects of their respective regions. Majestic beings of untold raw power who ruled their elements as gods. Umarak faced defeat after defeat at the hands of these beings. His shadow traps were brushed off without effort, even in swarms. Over a millennium of strife, he withered away, becoming spindle and wicked. When his mask was cracked after a particularly unfavorable encounter with Ketar's stinger, he decided to give up the honorable hunt and cheat the creatures into submission. He experimented with his shadow traps until he bred a new kind, that instead of merely snaring its prey, would sap its power, its life force. These new shadow traps were sent out to weaken the great aspects. However, Umarak's folly was that of hubris - hubris to think that he could create that which would absorb the power of the elements and survive. Technically, the traps succeeded - they latched on to their prey, and leeched their power. However, the full force of each element was far too much for the traps to endure, and they disintegrated before the creatures were truly fatigued. Diminished and weak, the creatures fled. While their power is gone, their cunning - and resilience remained. Tracking them became significantly more difficult for Umarak. It wasn't until the much less stealthy Toa gathered the creatures that he could successfully capture one. Due to the failure of his special breed of shadow traps, Umarak vowed never to experiment with - or rely on - the traps again. He partially broke this oath during his servitude to Makuta. Before losing his power, Ketar was a majestic scorpion that ruled over the dunes and mountains of the Region of Stone. I built this MOC using parts only from the G2 stone elemental sets: Nilkuu - Protector of Stone, Pohatu - Master of Stone, Skull Scorpio, Ketar - Creature of Stone and Pohatu - Uniter of Stone. Technically Scorpio has no element, but since he's the one "assigned" to Pohatu and shares the transparent color of the stone elementals, he counts. album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskAidr4q The torso is mostly the stock Skull Scorpio build with some aesthetic and structural mods. The head, tail and hands are fully custom. Photo Credit: My wonderful wife!

I was wondering, what's the difference between stone and earth, IRL (in real life) they're basically the same thing, so it's a little stupid. So i'm really confused , i'm more of a casual watcher, I sometimes browse this website and would really like to get in on the lore. (Dual moniter set-up)

A while back, I posted a combo model made from Korgot, Onua, and Basher, and was basically a much larger version of Basher. As promised, I bought more sets and made more combo models. Fire will be up i a separate topic, and Jungle will have to wait until I get Vizuna. But, anyway, onto the Stone model! First off, I don't like this one. The Stone sets leave very little to work with, having no long bone pieces or any friction-adders, which made this model really short and floppy. I went through two iterations of Stone combos, the first of which was a sort of spidery centaur that couldn't hold itself up for more than a second. Deeming it a failure, I killed it and rebuilt it into this thing. Pose Front Close-up Back With Gali There you have my Stone combo. No one-leg test for this guy because he has no friction joints and could barely stand as it it.

Hey guys for the Month of Stone I revised the Toa of Stone to re-orient the gearbox to allow the speed demon to run and kick! Though Pohatu ended up a little pear-shaped I like to imagine it's mimicking the real life Roadrunner bird which shares the same triangular figure. Plus claws! Anyway please comment with feedback, I tried to use as many themes from the 2001/2002 sets as I could with spiked biceps, armoured toes/shoes, claws etc. ps if anyone would like a close-up of the Protector's Sure Shot blaster let me know and I'll make room in my uploads to add it!

The Skull Scorpio has gotten some flack for lack of posability, abnormally large tail, etc., so I decided to start designing a new scorpion creature... thanks to some spare parts and a "certain" Star Wars set I purchased today. It's color scheme should bring back some nostalgia for Generation 1 fans. So here is the newest creature to be cataloged from Okoto... The Okotian Demon Scorpion! Named for its gigantic horns, this large creature roams tunnels and caves in the Region of Stone. During the day, they come out to feed by burying themselves beneath the desert sand and striking with their tail and large hairy forearms. Their typical prey are Skull Scorpios. Thanks to their massive mandibles, they are able to crush bones and absorb the calcium from them. They are very aggressive and territorial and will often attack any villager that stumbles into their way. Although rare, they are known to prey on villagers, but only when starving. When attacking larger prey like villagers, the demon scorpion can lift its upper body and attack in a centaur-type fashion. Even a Toa would find this creature a challenge. The poison from its tail causes its victim's body to heat up which causes dehydration from lots of sweating. Villagers of Fire have some resistance and take longer to dehydrate, but the venom seems to affect their biology as well.

Ponuvatron by Brickobotface, on Flickr Designed for strength, this MOC's blades are around the same weight as a Toa Nuva (2002). This is my entry to the July Flickr Contest. Gallery: https://www.flickr.com/photos/134131110@N07/sets/72157656107642768

Here's these two! I don't really like Hafu's (Pohatu 2015's) design. Too symmetrical... Toa Hafu wears a Mask of Focus, which allows him to target a foe's weak points. Toa Hafu also wields dual Climbing Chisels. Balta later became the Chronicler after Kopeke's transformation. Balta was rebuilt, granted special armor, and a powerless Mask of Foresight. He wields the Chronicler's Staff. Up next: Toa Taipu and Onepu Toa Macku Toa Tamaru Turaga Takanuva And more...

This is the first Self-MOC I've ever made, and I had a bucket full of all my brown bricks set aside for this occasion, but when I finally decided to build it, I couldn't find that bucket, so the bricks that aren't the same color on both sides are just bricks that will be replaced with brown ones, "I once was a young adventurer like you, then I took an epic to the face. Like. A. Boss." Front Back Face Top Leg setup One of the weapons All criticism, cookies, comments, congratulations, and cadences are accepted, EDIT: Made an instruction video for anyone whom it may concern, http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Brex321/instructionmoc/movie_on_3-21-15_at_6.13_pm.mov

Gamut Hello yet again, this MOD of the protector of STONE is part of my quest to mod every protector. I now present Golem, a member of the Six. He was the first protector to be killed by the traitor, Viper. His story is linked to the other protector mods. You can check out their links in my Sig. Protector (Guardian) of Stone - The Golem's Background story The Region of Stone While the title of "protector" meant the village head in almost all of Okoto, this was not the case in the Region of Stone. The duty of protector in the Stone Tribe was split into two heads, one of Guardian and the other of a Chief. The Chief was the village's figurehead, who lorded over decisions of the land. On the other hand, the Guardian was (simply put) a warrior. The reason for this divide was that the monsters in the Region of Stone were abnormally powerful in comparison to other area's (save the Region of Water). Moreover, the region hosted the highest concentration of skull spiders, adding to the strain. As a result, the Guardians were frequently wounded or killed. The division of responsibilities lent greater stability to the Stone Tribe. Golem To survive the harsh battles and fell enemies of the Region, Golem resorted to a measure akin to Leviathan's (the protector of water). To defeat monsters, they became monsters themselves. Fusing their bodies with the armor and life force of Okoto's creatures. With each enemy he defeated, Golem preyed upon its essence. However, this practice was frowned upon by the other protectors, as doing this toed the line between matoran and monster. Ancestors who went too far often degraded into deranged beasts who sought after matoran flesh. These were called Gha'Taj, meaning "possessed one," or "one possessed by evil." It was a lonely road. Golem had put his humanity, on the scales, in exchange for the power to protect. He was hailed a hero in times of strife; however during times of peace he was shunned and feared by his village. Hushed voices calling him Gha'Taj. Through years of duty, Golem slowly retreated from society, eventually appearing only to rend enemies apart, then disappearing back to the desert . He lost all restraint, fusing himself again and again with the essence of monsters. However, before he crossed the line into Gha'Taj; Bulwark, the protector of fire, and Viper, the protector of earth, found him after an arduous search. What occurred that day Golem would never tell, but it was then that Okoto's protectors became the Six. Build As one who once consumed the life essence of his enemies, Golem's physical strength was unrivaled among the Six. This allowed him to effortlessly wield a heavy gun-cleaver, which he needed to defeat the malevolent monsters of the Region of Stone. On his right arm he wore a simple arm-guard with throwing-razors as a side weapon. To compensate for his lack of speed, Golem used a booster that gave him short but concentrated bursts of speed. The booster could only be used for a maximum of 3 seconds at a time, but for 3 seconds he cleanly outstripped the Six. 1.1 Golem with cleaver swung around shoulder 1.2 Side view of above 2 Golem showing off his cleaver 3.1 Golem holding cleaver 3.2 Side view of above 4 About to swing 5 Backview 6 Clearer view of boosters Conclusion Thanks for reading! It was excruciatingly long, but I hope you derived some enjoyment from reading it, as I did while posting it.

Hello people! MrBT here again, and where I have been last two months? I have been busy recently, because of my college, so that's why I haven't been active here. You may remember that I showed to you my revamped Toa Okoto team? Well, I'm going to show you, Pohatu, Master of Stone 2.0 version aka revamped Pohatu I should say that way More pics: https://www.flickr.com/photos/114946327@N08/sets/72157650661224790/ Video review: NOTE: I kinda did video review of it, but it is in a small synopsis. The reason why I did this way, because there are already many of those 2015 Bionicle set reviews, so it is kinda a waste of time to revisit those pros, neutrals and cons. Well, here it is! Obviously I just swapped those new parts to replace those older parts. And yes, you may see some custom parts, especially those lower vahki legs, which they are painted in silver, in order to match the original version of 2015 Pohatu's look. And there are modificated axle parts and lightsaber sixed bar parts (which they're visible in his thigh armors. Luckily, I found some of these old technic parts, which they're in same color as Pohatu's new brown (or more likely Huki or Hewkii color), and those Huki colored Bohrok eye parts, giving a little color matching to Pohatu's color scheme. All in all, there isn't so big differences than my Pre-redesign version of Pohatu, The whole point was to change some old parts into new parts. But that's about it

Dear LEGO, What do you get when you combine Pohatu: Master of Stone with the Protector of Stone? We dunno. Well, after some quick tinkering, I found that you can, in fact, actually do a combiner model with the figures rather than hand the Toa their respective Protector's weapons. See what I mean? Look at him, standing there so statuesque... Here's a close-up of his chest construction. Oh, and now he wants to take to the skies! I believe I can fly! Oh, fine. We'll give him the Golden Mask... Well, there you have it! A real combiner model! Sincerely, ~The 1st Shadow~ -------------------------- I threw this together, and decided that, while not too much different from the set, it still is more of a combiner than those power-ups. the reason I used the Protector Mask was because I felt it looked better than the other two. Here, have a gallery. Comments? Criticism? Cookies?

The more I look at the protectors of [ELEMENT], the more I like them. They just look so good for their size. The Protectors of Jungle and Stone especially.

Earth. Stone. Both are found in the ground, so why are there two separate elements? I scarcely see a difference between the two, other than the density of the materials involved. This is similar with the elemental power of Iron, which I understand is basically just about metal - also found in the ground. My question is, why not combine them all into an overall element of Earth? You might ask what would become of Pohatu, whose elemental power I say would become Kinetics - a merger of elemental powers of physics such as Sonics, Magnetism, Gravity, et cetera - of course inspired by the discussion "Two Thoughts on Elements" thread. Pohatu as a Toa of Kinetics stems largely from his bearing the Kanohi Kakama, as well as wide open desert to play around with and perhaps the Kohlii football. This is similar with Lightning and Light - come on, just make one elemental for the electromagnetic spectrum and call it Light. Or, combine lightning with Kinetics, since like the forces mentioned above, electricity is a fundamental part of physics. I almost want to see Ice merged with Water, and Psionics be granted to Kopaka and the Ko-Matoran, but we all know why males can't be trusted with that. (Thanks a lot, Toa Orde!)

My entry to the September BZPower flickr contest. This is, without a doubt, the most ambitious color scheme I have ever used on a MOC. I actually think I was able to pull it off fairly well. As always, comments and criticism appreciated.

Hey, BZPower! I'm back with another MOC from my epic (link). This time, we've got Kolvat, the Toa Hagah of Stone who works alongside Korahn and Geiad. The next couple chapters will reveal more about his past and personality, so be sure to check out When The Month Ends over the next week or so.Now, on to the pictures.(Click for gallery)FrontBackPoseCompared to KorahnPose 2Well, that's Kolvat. Also, be sure to check out Geiad. I'll have a topic for him up very shortly.

well, it might seem like a dumb question, but i've been thinking about this for a while, since both earth and stone seems to be very similar in a way to me, what are the differences between them both, like how is each used differently?@tekula oh u actually had me going there for a second lol.Edit:So I;m guessing his topic has been discussed before, oh well, I didn't really feel like starting looking for one and I was kinda confused, i just need a bit more explaination, i got my answer now, thanks everyone.

I can't be the only one.Although the sets werent great, and although it was rather stupid with those wierd minifigs, but i have fond memories of them all the same. they also came with (some) good pieces...

Heyo! Man, it's been awhile since I've drawn these two. I figured I'd take a new spin on Hewkii, as I was dissatisfied with how his old design looked. I think this suits better. Hope you guys like it! This is pretty much still a sketch, so it's not meant to be fully finished. Perhaps the lightened designs of the old Hewkii and Macku represent the ghosts of what their relationship once was. A close relationship between a Toa and Matoran in the bionicle universe is still a sensitive topic. Hopefully Hewkii and Macku can break that sensitivity. Being a toa does not mean you're older, but simply taller with elemental power. Despite this, you are still who you are. And Hewkii has never forgotten his feelings for Macku. Even in his current state, Macku will always see him as the Hewkii she adored. BIONICLE © LEGO Drawings © Me.

What is the difference between stone and earth? What powers does one include that the other does not? They seem like the exact same thing to me.
