silo
IC: (Rekhyt) Right. Time to get started. He was guessing that the laser rifle would give him an unfair advantage and would be disallowed by Zero, so he tossed it away. He noticed a weapons wrack on the far side of the courtyard, behind some crates. They might come in handy, but he would probably have to get closer before he could move them effectively with his magnetism. Time to have a proper look at his enemy. He had not met Forger before, but knew of him. From what he could remember, and judging by his armour colouration, he was a toa of iron. Classically, that was the perfect enemy of a Fa-Toa, but Forger wouldn't be stupid enough to volunteer if he didn't have an edge over Rekhyt that he didn't know about. He seemed to be wearing a Kakama, although that could have been another mask forged in it's shape. Their masks would be pretty evenly matched, depending on how accurately Forger could direct himself when the Kakama was in use (assuming that's what it was). Thinking of masks being reforged into different shapes, Rek wished that he had had the foresight to get his mask re-shaped at some point: the Kaulsi was a pretty common mask, and he might have got an extra advantage if the Fe-Toa didn't know what his mask was, or, even better, thought it was something more harmless like a Rode. Forger was heavily built and tough lookin', although not much taller than Rekhyt. The Fa-Toa would have trouble with him in close-combat, so it might be a good idea to use his mask to keep at a distance, only darting forwards to slash with his katana, and stick mainly to his vast arsenal of throwing knives. If he could get a good look at Forger's back armour, he might be able to decide whether it was a good idea or not to shift to behind him, and strike there. He had a feeling that Forger was well protected by his heavy-set, bulky armour everywhere. He couldn't rely on his Kaulsi for everything, and, due to the large amount of raw energy needed for quick-travel, ran out of power more quickly and needed to recharge more regularly than most kanohi. Talking of close-combat, Forgey didn't seem to be carrying any weapons, but as a toa of iron, could create them any time he liked. The question was, did he have the skill to wield most of the things he could create? If not, he would most likely just throw projectiles of iron and the like at Rekhyt, which he could dodge or shift out of the way of.However, Rekhyt thought, the problem with elements like Magnetism and Gravity was that you couldn't actually make anything with them, only manipulate existing materials. His build and armour, which seemed to have all kinds of adjustments and improvements covering it, pointed towards either a gladiator (which Rekhyt wasn't sure they even had on Mata-Nui) or a blacksmith or whitesmith, which were both common occupations for Fe-Toa on the island. Rekhyt assumed that if he was formerly one of the latter two, his fighting style would be more "blunt", using more imprecise weapons like clubs and maces rather than swords. The Fa-Toa waited for Zero to announce the start... 1 . Kathok
Timageness
IC: "Yes..., because people who claim to be protectors just go and leave entire villages undefended while they hole themselves up in the nearest tavern and drink themselves into a stupor on a daily basis," Dravennica said. "That was what became of my village when I was a Matoran; with no so-called "heroes" to protect it, it soon became a very easy target for a bandit raid, coincidentally executed by the same group I mentioned earlier. I found their camp soon after my transformation, but by the time I arrived, he had already taken my revenge from me and was long gone. It should be noted, however, that he did this as a Matoran, not a Toa."Feeling her rage slowly begin to creep up on her again, she quickly brought the conversation back to its original topic."So what exactly happened after he robbed you of your hand?" The UltimoScorp
IC Tarkahn: Having cleaned and polished every weapon in the store, I sat behind the counter, and began tinkering with a dagger that could ignite and be wrapped in flames for a short time when a button on the hilt was pressed. Oh, and Verulas seems fond of poisoned knives. Once I woke up and escaped the hospital, I ventured down into Makuta's Vault. The piraka called Zaktan gave me a vial of antidermis, which grew me a new hand, and power beyond that of any mere matoran." She fixed her gaze on Dravennica. "Now I have a question for you. Timageness
IC: Makuta's Vault? Zaktan? So the rumors were true then...Dravennica was astounded that the Ta-Matoran and the Vortixx had survived such a dangerous journey, and knew that she would have to make her way down there at some point as well to increase her own powers. But now was not the time to dwell on that, for the Matoran had inquired about what the Bo-Toa (she still cringed at the thought of him becoming one) had done to her. Fighting back the rage once more, she began to explain why the mercenary was no longer fit to live."Once upon a time," she started, taking a deep breath before continuing. "On a far away island rested a small village of Matoran. Life wasn't exactly easy for them, but they were content with their lives because the bonds they had forged with each other through all of their hardships made it seem like they were all one big extended family. This story focuses on three Matoran in particular; myself, a male Ta-Matoran not unlike you, and a Bo-Matoran whose gender you can already guess. We were the closest friends in the village and practically inseparable, the Ta-Matoran and I in particular, if you catch my meaning. Everything was great, and I had what I had wanted most out of life... I worked hard, my stomach was full every evening, and I had someone special that I could gaze up at the night sky with. But it was not to last.""The day of the attack on my village, I was one of the few Matoran to escape, but Verulas and the other Matoran were not so lucky; they were captured trying to make sure that everyone else was able to get away. After becoming a Toa, it became painfully apparent that the role was not one of honor and heroics, but one of manipulation and brutality. Do you know what it feels like to have the people you've grown to call friends treat you like a puppet and a weapon to be used and disposed of whenever they see fit? To know that you are no longer one of them anymore and be treated as such? It's both humiliating and infuriating, so it should come as no surprise that I put their puppeteering ways to an end while I made my way to one of the other settlements.""After honing my combat skills and learning how to control my element, I recieved word that a traveler who had gotten lost in the woods discovered what he thought was the remains of a bandit camp, presuming that they had all slaughtered each other over an arguement in leadership. At the time, I was making it a point to extinguish the lives of everyone of them that I came across in my travels, so I decided to investigate to see if there were still any stragglers hanging around that I would be more than happy to pick off one by one. By the time I arrived, most of the bodies were beyond identifying, but I did recognise one of the corpses as the leader of the group that attacked my village, and a few of them wore the faces of people that I had known. I ended up recovering twelve bodies belonging to the thirteen villagers that went missing during the attack, and I started to believe the Ta-Matoran I mourned was still alive because he did not appear to be amongst them. I know now that it was foolish to think that, as life has a habit of spitting in your face every time it has the opportunity to do so.""I searched for him for so long before finally hearing about how a small town nearby had taken in a Matoran that had suddenly appeared covered in blood. The guards at first thought he had been on a killing spree, which wasn't too far from the truth since he claimed that a group of bandits had kidnapped him and some others before making them fight each other to the death. He also stated that he killed the bandits while escaping, which no one blamed him for doing as he apparently was driven temporarily mad by his time locked inside of the muddy pit in which they kept him. When I asked if he had mentioned his name, I was practically on my way there to investigate when I heard that he said it was Verulas. Unfortunately, he had long since journeyed elsewhere by the time I arrived, but you can imagine how I felt when I discovered that the Verulas that they had spoke of was not the Ta-Matoran that I had loved..., but the Bo-Matoran who had failed to protect him, murdered him, and stolen his name."Dravennica paused for the moment to catch her breath, letting the Vortixx and the Ta-Matoran gaze upon the hatred in her eyes before speaking once more."You asked me why I hate Verulas? What he did to me? He took away my revenge, my love and his identity, and my future, and I won't rest until I've paid him back in full." Nato G
IC: Dayeth. A lesser being may have expressed how "sorry" they were to hear of what had happened to Dravennica, but Dayeth knew her words would mean nothing. Vengeance against Verulas was all that mattered, and Dayeth knew that if she ever encountered the Toa again, she would keave the final blow to Dravennica. She didn't dare to think about what might happen if she was robbed of her vengeance a second time. She turned to Echelon. "Toa Korero Maru is in the city; I've spoken with him. Timageness
IC: Dravennica was only just able to force down her rage when the moment she had so patiently bided her time for had arrived.Echelon had approached them.Oddly enough, Shredder grew silent as he stepped towards them, recognising his superiority as he laid down at her feet. Without a second thought, she dropped into a kneeling position before him, staring at the floor as she began to speak."Echelon... it is an honor to finally meet you in person. I am Dravennica, and I wish to ally myself with the forces of Legacy while congratulating you on the conquest of this city. I am also quite the fan of what you have done with the place."As the Ta-Matoran mentioned her encounter with the Maru, the Ko-Toa cringed. The villager that she had grilled for information shortly after her arrival on the island had mentioned them, though he refused to comment on their numbers, names, or abilities dispite her best efforts to "persuade" him that it was in his best interests to do so. All she knew of them was that they were considered some of the best warriors this island had to offer, and that they were a regular thorn in the side of anyone who wasn't on the side of the villages. Perhaps he was here to attempt to rescue them?"Maybe...," the Toa said, risking a glance at her as she continued to speak. "We should gather some others and... "attempt..." to change his mind. The more time he's forced to spend on us, the less time he has to rescue his precious Matoran..." Nato G
IC: Dayeth. "I like the way you think," Dayeth said to Dravennica. IC: Veteran. The one-eyed skakdi watched the two combatants face off. A Toa of Magnetism versus an Iron Toa. Forger definitely had a huge advantage. Rekhyt could only control existing metal, while Forger could create his own weapons. Moreover, he could create weapons made from metals that Rekhyt couldn't control. If Rekhyt found a way to survive this fight, Veteran knew he would have proven himself worthy of joining The Outsiders. IC: Enforcer. I watch, perplexed, as Rekhyt casts away the rifle I'd given him. Giving up the only advantage he might have had over his opponent? His funeral. My money is on Forger, well and truly. He has the advantage in just about every way concievable. I have a feeling that this battle will be over fairly quickly, so I begin sizing up the remaining recruits while I wait for it to begin. I will have to fight one of them, an I'm looking forward to it. 2 Embers - A Bionicle Saga - Chapters/Review Class Is Out - A Farewell To Corpus Rahkshi - Chapters/Review BZPRPG Characters - Minnorak, Kain, T'harrak, Savis, Vazaria, Lash BZPRPG Mercenary Group - The Outsiders - Description - History - Base Ghosts Of Bara Magna - Ash Tribe - Precipere - Kehla, Somok, Skrall, Gayle, Avinus, Zha'ar

Ghosthands
IC (Echelon) As cold as the Sanctum was, it felt as though the temperature dropped a good few degrees as Echelon fixed his stare on Dayeth. "A Toa Maru is in the city." Echelon enunciated each syllable with slow and surgical precision. "One of the team that enacted Makuta's fall...one of the most powerful Toa on this island...one of the few beings capable of throwing a wrench into even the most carefully-crafted of plans...is in Ko-Koro right now, at this crucial moment." The Dark Toa loomed over the Ta-Matoran, the muscles of his emaciated fingers tautening as they clenched around the metal staff. "Please explain to me," he continued, in a tone icy enough to freeze over the Mangai, "why you did not tell me this before?" shadow pridak money gang
IC: A Toa Maru was in the city. The news of Ko-Koro's fall had reached him three days prior, while he pushed further into the icy heart of Ko-Wahi. He had decided Joske could wait, and told Leah as much irritably before they had parted - the other Maru have all picked up their balls and gone home, he'd snapped, Joske doesn't need a babysitter. Ko-Koro might. He didn't know how right he'd had it. A messenger from Ihu-Koro had met him, with frost crusting his mask and heartlight; mist billowed from his mouth in panted breaths as he huffed: Ko-Koro has fallen. As more messengers came, and he stopped at Ihu-Koro for supplies and a real bed, the rumors had been flying through the village: Korzaa had escaped, Korzaa was dead, Ambages ruled the city, Ambages was Echelon in disguise, Ambages had disappeared, Echelon had put Korzaa and Ambages' heads on the gates to the Sanctum, to stare austerely at the Ko-Matoran as they walked. Korero Maru had been captured and killed trying to help, he'd heard at the bar of Ihu-Koro's only inn, and when Reordin shot back that there was no way in Karz that he was that lucky, it had nearly led to a fistfight. Only after the drunk was escorted away from the bar did the man behind the counter pipe up that he'd heard Korero was leading a resistance movement inside the walls themselves. When Reordin had asked where everyone was hearing these things, everyone's answer was the same: survivors. Not escapees. Not refugees. Survivors. This was your fault, whispered a dead man's voice in the back of his head, as smooth and rich as honey and thunder. You let Matoro die. You let Ambages ascend, and once they saw one crack in the Sanctum's walls they hammered open a dozen more. It was then that he knew what he had to do, and where he needed to be - and where he'd decided what he was willing to give up to make it happen. He had paid for his meal so silently and suddenly the villagers had looked at him like Kopaka come again, and he spent the rest of the night alone in the spartan room he'd rented out. He'd written a letter each to Sulov and Stannis that night, detailing that he was going to try and get inside the city - to Sulov he asked for the Patero launcher the Toa Maru of Earth had seen designed for him, and to Stannis he wrote out the closest to an apology the Toa of Stone would ever force from him. He almost burned the letter before the ink had dried. He lied to you, the voice reminded him. He's my friend. He'd die for me. Ta-Koro almost did. We hugged outside the Suva. I was on his team. I was on a team, too, the voice said dryly. In the end, he put the letter in the pocket of his Sanctum Guard jacket for delivery later - by his hand, or some loyal Guard's. Even Stannis' letter had been easier than the third and final one. He spent the rest of the night trying to write one, penning the name Leah Leah Leah over again in introduction. A dozen times he searched for things he wanted to say to her, things that he may never get the chance to say, but after dawn broke he looked down at the parchment and saw that he'd been repeating Leah Leah Leah, and that in the end, those were the only words he had. A man should have more to say at a time like this, thought Reordin Maru, but words could be precious things, and he laughed bleakly when he realized he'd spent so much of his life talking that he might not have anything to say when it came time to die. That morning, he set out for Ko-Koro. -Tyler 5 SAY IT ONE MORE TIME TELL ME WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND
Mr. House
IC: (Larikon Torchbearer) He'd established himself in a humble cobbler's hut. It was a small, round building, but nonetheless a fairly warm one. A fire grew slowly in the hearth, filling the room with heat. The Grandmaster himself laid in the bed the Lesterin had abandoned, propping his head up with the old pillows, and immobile under several blankets. Larikon's wounds were long patched, some were cauterized, others Jaaku had carefully bandaged. A kettle of bitter, painkilling herbal tea lay on the bedside table, with a half-full cup. Larikon had refused opium, as opium made his mind a haze. Sir Jaaku himself sat relaxed in cushioned seat, which blocked off the doorway. At this time, he was thankful for his Knight's loyalty in tending to him in this most painful time. While his body ached, Larikon's mind buzzed with contentment. The city was theirs, he realized, the Brotherhood and Legacy had taken the heathen city, and a new order would soon take hold. He was already thinking of ways to enact it, to keep it in place, and to expand it. Eyru
IC (Oreius, Inu) Korero brought good tidings. Oreius quickened his pace, leaving melted tracks behind him as he strode through the snow. They appeared to make it out of the gate undetected, but the Toa Maru doubted it was true. Surely Echelon wouldn't leave Ko-Koro unguarded while he dealt darkness in the Sanctum. * * * IC (Cael) The group waited outside the walls, and then the Matoran arrived. Led by a Toa of Fire whose slight hunch and strange mask betrayed him as Oreius, Toa Maru of Fire, and accompanied by others who kept watchful eyes out for any threat. The two parties exchanged few words; Oreius Maru seemed distracted, Cael thought, and his eyes kept darting back to the icy city. The Ko-Matoran themselves looked mostly stoic, as was their wont. Merror led the way, and Agni brought up the rear as they escorted these last survivors into the swirling snow. The Toa of Water looked back only once, and saw Oreius marching back into Ko-Koro, each step slow and measured. * * * OOC Gear and Fifth, Revekk and Kimala can go with the Matoran if you like, or can follow Oreius back into the city. Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva)
IC (Joskander): Joskander inwardly seethed at being unable to help liberate the ice village, but injured as he was, and with a small herd of innocents still requiring evacuation, he had decided his services would be of better use aiding the Toa of Water and her companions. Even though she had more guts than most people on this island, there was no way in Karzahni that she was going to intercede between the two. She was not with the Matoran when she had encountered the Toa Maru, thus exempting her from being in the same situation as long as she didn't draw any unnecessary attention to herself. Doing so would ruin her chances of forging an alliance with them, and would pretty much be down right suicidal while surrounded by Legacy members. Her eyes darted back to the floor and stayed there, waiting to see how the Ta-Matoran planned to avoid getting killed herself. Rorschach the Absolute
OOC Sorry Daedalus! I really didn't see your post!!IC Zealot Zealot waved Faora over to where he and Veteran were talking. He felt bad for not answering her when she had approached, but he figured it would have been more polite to engage in pleasant conversation after the debate with Scholar. (Daedalus)
OOC: No worries; I figured that was the case. IC: Faora Catching some movement out of the corner of her eye, Faora glanced over at Zealot. He appeared to be waving her over. With a half-smile on her face, she approached him. "I wondered if you had heard me earlier," she said when she was near him. "It wouldn't be the first time I haven't spoken loud enough." She tapped her earmuffs. "I always sound much louder to myself than I do to others. Anyway, I just wanted to compliment your fighting skills and congratulate you on officially becoming an Outsider." 1 My epic: For Them (Review Topic) BZPRPG: Trauer and Faora Bionifight Ultimate: Daedalus Drachoren and Von Worten Undtränen The Elder Scrolls: Ashfall: K'Larn
Nato G
IC: Dayeth. "It appears I overestimated your abilities," Dayeth said carefully, "I had assumed that one as resourceful and powerful as yourself, with an entire army at your disposal and the city practically in the palm of your hand, would have already been informed of the Maru precence. I only mentioned it because you asked." She decided to elaborate a little further. "When I arrived in the city he was flying over it. Are you trying to say that I am the first to tell you that he was here?" she looked to the room's other occupants in disbelief. "Did no one in this entire city see him flying above it?" Rorschach the Absolute
IC ZealotThe newest member of the Outsiders smiled "Thanks, I greatly appreciate that!" he bowed his head graciously, "But I do not fight for my own glory. I stand on the name of Mata Nui." --Character Profiles--||--Veneras--|--MacGukko--|--Tharros--|--Xerrand--|--Tarian--|--Niralle--||
(Daedalus)
IC: Faora "Then I'm sure Mata Nui's proud to have one such as you fighting for him," she said, smiling. She'd never been one to fight in another's name, but in her years of travel, she had come to realize that even if one's views or beliefs in a higher cause were misguided, they tended to provide one with a passion and drive hard to match. A question, however, occurred to her. "I'm curious, and I apologize if you've already been asked this, but... why join the Outsiders?" Faora asked. "With your beliefs, why become a part of an organization such as this? It seems..." She couldn't think of the word. "I don't know... antithetical?" She hoped the question didn't come across as confrontational; she was genuinely curious. Rorschach the Absolute
IC ZealotThe one who had once been called Veneras pursed his lips. It indeed was a valid question."The Akiri" he began with voice cold and sharp "stood. by. and watched while my Koro burned at the hands of Makuta Worshipers." Zealot's eyes were downcast, his voice shifted from anger to sadness "I used to believe the Law was an agent of justice. I used to believe the authorites stood for Mata Nui." His voice was heavy, filled with regret "Now I..." he paused, almost as if unsure if he was ready to admit what he had long denied "Now I see the law is a hindrence to true justice. That true righteousness is free from the lies of the Akiri. Now I see what is true." --Character Profiles--||--Veneras--|--MacGukko--|--Tharros--|--Xerrand--|--Tarian--|--Niralle--||

toa grimlock
IC: Skulk Skulk stood up, even if he wasn't fully healed he was healed enough. "Thank you ma'am," he said to the Lestrian. He walked over to where everyone seemed to have gathered. He didn't recognize one of them. He bowed respectfully, "Greetings, I am Skulk, I hope I an not interrupting something important." he said hesitantly. "When life gives you lemons.... Make orange soda!" "You're immature for age..." Jakura Nuva
IC: Varan and Anhar Varan puffed with exhaustion as he made his way up the steep slope of snow resting along a Ko-Wahi mountain ridge. The Toa of Fire slumped lifelessly over his shoulder was lighter than normal, given the gravitational cushion currently being applied to him by the other Toa. Nevertheless, Varan's power wasn't exhaustible - and Anhar would soon awake. He needed to make it to Obsidian. It had been truly ages since he seen Zero... or any of the Outsiders, for that matter. They had been quite low-key until recently, given the events of Ko-Koro. He wished terribly he could've been there to help - alas, he wasn't magic. Hopefully, the mercenary band would accept his little "gift" - the criminal he had just defeated. He'd pay anything to have them punish the Toa of Fire, and hopefully the treacherous conditions of the Outsiders' dungeon would knock some sense into the rogue. But one could only hope... Shielding the sun's glare on the icy ground from his eyes, Varan could just make out the tall, metallic structure that was Obsidian. Moving Anhar into a different position on his broad shoulders, the Toa of Gravity quickened his pace.
