Spent the majority of last night leveling my human female Vanguard.Full-shield-heal-Charge + Half-shield-using-Nova + Half-shield-using-Nova FTW.

Vanguards are the only class for whom their guns are a step down.(I prefer piercing btw)

For the later waves, my Vanguard has the Katana V shotgun.

...I have so many shotguns I'll never use. Katana VII springs to mind.And I never play as biotics. Not sure why anymore. My bias towards dismissing their use as a cheap tactic has subsided recently. Should give it a shot. My infiltrator-inclination seems to be aggrievating things as I loath to go back to Bronze to practice when I could be playing silver or gold.

I just did a game as Vanguard with just the Predator pistol.Against Reaper forces.I just 'danced' around the Brutes and Banshees. Hardly used the pistol.

Well, in between 2 and 3 of my Infiltrator playthrough, some dark necromancer has brought Balak back to life using Kelly Chambers. Consistency? Important character moments? Pfffft.And I'm still peeved Saren didn't get more significance other than the occaisional "hey, remember when we took down a rogue Spectre?".

To me, Saren should have at least been referred to by name consistently if you convinced him to sacrifice himself for the organic good at the end of ME1.Spoiler alert.

So I decided to break out my Krogan sentinel again due to the recent buffs to Lift Grenade and Tech Armor, and wow, he's actually viable on Silver now!First match I used the Claymore VII and Mattock X, went alright, next match I used my Claymore again plus my newly unlocked Talon, not a huge fan of the Talon. I'll do another match later with my Paladin II in place of the talon and see how that goes~ELM~

For the next operation, all we have to do to get the commendation pack is promote 3 characters. To get the victory pack (which has a high chance for a rare weapon), everyone has to promote a total of 50000 characters.Also, there's a twist. Because we failed to kill all the banshees, there will not only be more banshees in reaper games, but banshees will also be spawning with other enemies like Geth or Cerberus.~U_K~

The immersion part of me is kind of annoyed. Only will that niggling voice of mine be sated if the Banshees also attack Cerberus and Geth troops.And I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

Multiple enemy types per match should be a togglable option, fighting the same enemy for 20+ minutes is boring.

Concurred. I've seen some hacks that do that, but nobody ever wants to run them due to how ban-happy EA and Bioware tend to be.

Okay, the Paladin is the best thing ever, it's basically a sniper rifle sans scope, of course the Carnifex is still better for Power-based classes due to the lower weight, but it's great for my Krogan Sentinel, the first match i used it I hardly used my Claymore.~ELM~

[/late to the party]Totally a fan of this series now - I've only completed ME2, because ME1's in the mail and I refuse to play ME3 until I get to it chronologically.Anyway, basics are I'm a male Adept, Tali and Garrus are my favourite characters, but Garrus and Grunt are my favourite squad members. Also Tali is adorable and completely impossible to not romance. I'll have to wait and see to compare the first two games until my package arrives, but I've been watching my sister play ME3 and it looks pretty sweet. Depressing as heck, though. Especially the whole Quarian/Geth thing if you can't resolve it...Anyway yeah, this is like the first series I've actually liked enough to play through, and ME2 is the first game I've ever beaten.

Unlocked my Javelin this week. And as my Geth engineer, I love to shoot through walls in Firebase Hydra. Killed a Geth Prime that way.

The scope can apparently adjust to keep targets proportionately in view, even if they're up close. So it sounds like it's going to be an anti-material rifle that can act as a shotgun.)And of course, the DLC is free.Also-

Another site's report on the DLC also mentioned a new objective for objective waves and the addition of a "permanent" equipment slot that would provide persistent bonuses, but the fact it's not on the official site makes me wonder if they had to hold those back to make this release date. Frankly, those would be more exciting to me than a few new characters/weapons, so I hope those additions do show up soon.

It sounds more like capture-the-flag than an actual escort mission:

Randomly occurring during waves 3, 6 and 10, this new objective will demand that teams retrieve a high priority package and securely escort it to a designated extraction zone on each map.

It has the word escort in it, therefore it is an escort mission, therefore it is terrible. My logic is unquestionable.

Escort missions are only terrible if the thing you're escorting moves on it's own and can die.

The worst part is that Adam Baldwin was asked by a fan if he would like to voice him again, and Adam Baldwin said that he'd love to, but Bioware never called him. He didn't even know his character was killed.Anyway, I'm glad that this is all free. And by the way, all the added stuff GSR said is true.Geth infiltrator is still my favorite character though.~U_K~

Oh cool there's an official topic for this.I've been playing Mass Effect 1 a fair amount recently. It's very fun indeed.Mako is the most lightweight tank ever though. x_x
