  3. New Faction: Untethered Happy Leap Year! Today is the perfect day to unveil something weird that’s been sinking its hooks into the game for the past few weeks. A strange force began working on the world since the crew of The Ripple discovered the strange puzzle cube in the grotto far to the South of Destral. So far, Mazor and Skorm have experienced strange dreams or feelings of another being in their consciousness. Across the known world, the recently deceased have been rising. NPCs are strange zombies, chasing those who live to consume their sparks of destiny. For this faction individual destiny does not exist. There is only the destiny of the whole, the larger fate of the emergent entity seeking awaken the Dead God. However, PCs are coming back as Revenants! While the red ring on the horizon lasts, players whose character die can revive them as a Revenant (see below). Players can always choose to let the PC return as a mindless zombie instead. If the red ring on the horizon disappears that means open enrollment in the Untethered is over. Other ways will need to be found for characters seeking to forfeit their individuality. Power Changes* Upon Revival: When your character died an element may have been involved in the process. This is their new element. This forms the core of their spirit, carried in their torso, and if put out the Revenant no longer is bound to their physical form and ceases to exist. The spirit core is where a Revenant experiences their senses and concept of self. All Revenants can feel the spirit cores of other Revenants on the same plane. Revenants cannot use kanohi, lacking the mental acuity and focus. Revenants are part of a larger whole. The larger whole maintains their shape and powers. They cannot sleep or dream, instead resting by offering their consciousness to the Dead God. Revenants seek to awaken the Dead God. They are drawn to the Coliseum in the City Of Legends, sensing the way to awaken the Dead God within its tower. When requiring aid, a Revenant can release an aberrant cry. All active Revenants may teleport to the crying Revenant. Healing powers do not affect Revenant characters. Revenants do not remember their individual past lives. Instead, their memories blend with other Revenants. Each new Revenant adds to the concept of past self. Kaita**: Three Revenants may form a single entity with access to the combined powers of the Revenants involved. This entity is known as an Untethered Kaita. Untethered Kaita may use noble kanohi. All of the players involved in a Kaita may post as the Kaita. Coordinate in PMs or OOC for best effect. For size and damage, consider an Untethered Kaita larger than a titan (i.e. Brutaka) and treat all damage as if they are a normal PC. Untethered Kaita revert to individual Revenants when dealt a mortal blow. Revenants must wait until the next dawn to attempt to combine again. _________________________ *GM Note: please understand these in-game powers are in beta. This means if things get out of hand from a mechanical or power level standpoint I will consider rolling some things back. Play creative and play fair. <3 **Stretch Goal unlocked on 3/3/2020

  4. IC: Vyarik - Po-Metru "Looks like he's waiting for us. That makes this easier." Vyarik moved to stand at the front of the transport as it drew to a halt before the group. Vyarik's body buzzed with a kind of eager, anticipatory glee he hadn't felt in a very long time. For so much of his service with the Dark Hunters, his tasks had - by necessity - involved subterfuge and assassination. He had excelled at that work, but is was a far cry from his old life, in the arenas of Stelt. There, he had not only been fighting for his life, but entertaining others at the same time, turning slaughter into a spectacle. Now, for the first time in decades, he had the chance to put on a real show again. "Toa Stannis!" He bellowed, raising his voice to be heard by all those present. "By order of Turaga Dume, you are hereby placed under arrest for conspiracy against Metru Nui, assisting a wanted felon, destruction of public property, and the termination of numerous Vahki law enforcement officers. Your companions are also wanted on similar charges."

  5. Tallea - Metru-Nui - Po-Metru IC: Stannis had an arrest warrant out on him? She hadn't been following the news feeds too closely since their hunt had started. Sure there had been the ride over here but she'd been engrossed in her studies of the disk. She brought up a popular news sight with a mental command, surely if a Toa of Stannis' stature had a warrant out on him it would be all over th- Apparently the world has decided become Karzhanni all at once. Wait, did that Ce-Toa say she was connecting everyone's minds? Tallea didn't know how much of her inner monologue had passed over the link, but the interruption served to refocus her on the situation at hand. Specifically focusing her thoughts on the bond she sent out. Non-combatants converge on the block. I'll cover them.

  6. IC: Nale Vella - Po-Metru Nale nodded to Stannis. "Hopefully I won't have to fire a shot." Before the Hunters arrived she headed to the Taku and radioed Knichou to move the airship in closer for her own convenience, before climbing back aboard with some help from her element. Meanwhile, the Matoran tilted the airship upwards slightly to give her better cover. Taking position in the cargo bay, rifle drawn, she crouched down and watched for what would happen next.

  7. IC Stannis | Po Tallea glanced over at Stannis. "Feel like digging?" Stannis shook his head in response. He was in his haven Metru, but despite being surrounded by aspects of stone he had no control over the sands, and digging was a domain much better suited for his friend Arkius, who's abilities were ideal compared to his own. He had, briefly, considered merely lifting the odd structure from the ground, a feat he could easily have accomplished with a mental little effort, but by his elemental scan of the inverted pyramid and the others' examinations it would be a bad idea, and so he discarded the plan without mentioning it. The ciphered message would speak truth, it seemed—digging and brute force would be required, but only take them so far towards their ultimate goal. And what of these newcomers, he wondered? Almost all were refugees he had helped at some point before, some were people he'd saved and others even past allies, but times change people. He knew these matoran were good, but what of their intentions? He would have to do a scan of them sometime later, he resolved, to better ascertain what their individual goals and ambitions were. A faithful man, Stannis was well-deserved of his "prophet" moniker, being a nearly saintly figure among the pious followers of the Great Spirit, and he feared the Virtues not being adhered to. These matoran, he understood, shared a set of commonalities, but they also came from radically different paths, and those paths surely gave each one very unique ambitions. Should any one of them choose that their possible apotheosis to toa-hood was more important than any other's, that would surely ruffle feathers and drive even the most passionate supporters of Unity apart. And in the face of possible annihilation at the hands of the Barraki, the Virtues needed to be adhered to, or else all was lost. His focus, however, was turned a different direction when he could hear the telltale rattle of another vahki transport. The old toa looked out across the dimly illuminated and nightmarish landscape and knotted his brows with concern, seemingly feeling the transport more than truly seeing. "It shouldn't be the Hunter... but I sense this one means us harm," Stannis said back. His voice did not betray his frustration, but it was there. Ironically, for a famed warrior who's legend was as much about his far-flung travels as his martial exploits, Stannis did not enjoy fighting—yet he was destined to find it everywhere he walked, it seemed. Mata Nui worked in mysterious ways, truly. Grasping his spear more tightly, Stannis turned his focus singularly on the oncoming vehicle. "Nale, stay with the Taku. If needs be, use your gun from there and use height and range to your advantage. Arkius, do what you will, but see how you can hasten the digging efforts first. We will see if I need help soon enough, but if the matoran fail it will be because we did not do enough to help them. Then, in a tone as chilling as the twilight atmosphere: "As for me, if this is truly the Dark Hunter he will soon learn what folly it is to challenge a Po-Toa in fields of stone."

  8. No, those are in the standard release. The extra pages were the ones featuring the fight between Mata Nui and a Vorox in the desert. You can see them in the version archived on BMP: http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/files/gfx/Comics/Bara Magna Saga/Comic04/Bara Magna Saga 04.pdf

  9. IC: Mazor-The Ripple Mazor looked at the object, still in his hand, then slowly turned back to face the others. "I was sir," He said, masaging his temple. "I wasn't really thinking about it sir, I've been really tired since the island." IC: Jephro-Temple Assault @Onaku With is intense focus, Jephro noticed how Kal firercly defended his chest. He must have a week spot there, Jephro thought, I should let them know, but if I yell he'll know... Kal began to charge at another toa. Thinking quickly, Jephro readjusted his gravity powers to focus all of Kal's increased weight into his fee.

  10. IC: Vashni - Po-Metru - Oh great... Vashni visibly sighed as she scrutinized the Dark Hunter who was attempting to arrest Stannis in the name of Turaga Dume and Metru Nui. Which sounded completely absurd no matter how you looked at it. Vashni attempted to get a quick feel for Vyarik's mind, and without actually reading his thoughts she got a very strong sense of pride, arrogance, and just a general aura of malcontent. So all in all your average Dark Hunter from the feel of things. "Just who exactly are you putting on a show for? Cause no one's buying it!" Vashni shouted across the sands to the Dark Hunter. .:Seriously who is this guy?:. Vashni mentally asked to all allies and party members, while she was at it she used her powers to allow everyone to communicate with each other through the mental plane, it was only a minor strain on her to maintain it and she could basically do it without thinking. .:I will let us all communicate like this to make things easier:. For now Vashni would use her powers in a supportive role and stay close to the Matoran, above all she would keep them safe, that was her duty as a Toa after all. @EmperorWhenua@Tarn@Silvan Haven@Nato the Traveler@Dane@pokemonlover360@BULiK@~Xemnas~@Darth Jaller

  11. Two questions. 1. Does Mazor get any revenant bonuses or is he excluded from this? 2. How long is mazor going to be feeling drained?

  12. IC: Leonn - Po-Metru ("Arriving") The ship loomed over the transport as Leonn slowed the vehicle down. They were here, essentially, though Leonn was beginning to wish he wasn't. "Well, I don't know what your plan is Vyarik, but it is presumably very good to have brought us this far." The spy said, prepared to leave the two Hunters behind if things got particularly gruesome. IC: Kovac Krossfari - Ga-Metru (Slice And Dice) The lack of pain from the vigilant's blow surprised the Vo-Toa, and as he tried to sidestep the punch, he was a tad too slow. The gauntlet struck true, stabbing into his armour but not worryingly deep. The Shadow had the reflexes to jolt back as he punched, minimizing the penetration of the blade. A bit of blood seeped out from the wound, but Kovac Krossfari similarily held fast. "You've already missed your mark, parasite. Give yourself up to me!" The vigilante yelled, before slamming his hand down onto Idlyx's outstretched joint.

  14. Hmm... interesting. I've been away from Bionicle for a while, but I'd love to take a crack at what Tahu might like. Tahu strikes me as the sort of guy who wouldn't listen to music much. At least in his younger days. Post-Journey's End Tahu is a whole different ballgame. His passion, volatility, and drive may point to a lack of enthusiasm for any kind of entertainment that involved sitting still and listening. But he's also evidently a fan of an action-driven sport like Kohlii, so he might be into something that reminds him of drama, theatricality, and action. (See Mask of Light.) (If he could be persuaded to listen to music, it would probably be while working out or engaging in hard, physical, outdoor labor. Perhaps Nuparu teamed up with the Nynrah Ghosts to invent stereos and MP3 players.) He might also be inclined to tune in to something which reminds him of what drives him: His duty to his people and to Mata Nui. That means something like spiritual or meditative music, something which stirs the softer part of his soul, appealing to his passion for justice (that is, playing fair, keeping your word, and defending the innocent) and his respect for courage and cunning. I can therefore imagine an older, wiser Toa Tahu, still in fighting shape, practicing his new powers that he got at the end of Journey's End while listening to something from Survivor, Kanye West, or Imagine Dragons. (Maybe humans from the year 3000 figured out a way to import music files to Spherus Magna, and have sent a sleeper ship to make first contact with that planet's residents, due to arrive in about 106,000 years post-Shattering.) But after he's done with the day's work, maybe he picks up one of those newfangled paper and cloth books (He likes them much better than stone tablets), perhaps a biography of Toa Lhikan written by Turaga Vakama. So he sits down a flips through it, and then turns on a recording of a choir of Ga-Matoran and Le-Matoran singing a hymn to the mysterious Papa and Ranga (see here: https://drop-a-brick.blogspot.com/2019/09/mnog-chronicle-chapter-iii-sky-father.html), composed by Turaga Nokama, Nuju, and Artakha in the days of peace post-Journey's End. Maybe Tahu, looking up at an old group painting of his old team, smiles in a rare moment of sentimentality, and says to himself, "Great Beings... Greater Beings... wherever you are... thank you." That's a former fan-fic writer's take on the subject. I charge five dollars per-Toa for anything after this. Cheers, X-Ray

  15. IC: Tekmo (Black Spike Mountains) Tekmo turned to his compatriots to deliver instructions. "Keep your weapons handy, but don't attack unless they do. Friendly smiles, everyone." He led them down as he made a slow descent towards this enigmatic demolitions team. "Excuse me, if I could have your attention?" IC: Waveahk (Aqua Magna Shoreline) "Well then - I claim this salvage in the name of the Waveahk Fishing Company, which I just made up. I'll try and get into that welded compartment later - for now, let's get this hunk of metal aboard The Aquarium. I'll land the ship closer, you just... keep watch." Waveahk left Vrokdann to do just that, mulling over if it was worth it to use her as a test subject - to see if the Bell was safe for living beings to use.

  17. This site, and the people on it, were hugely influential on my development as a person. I come back every couple months because it feels like coming home in some ways. Plus, the site has this vague, hard-to-describe, "Old internet" feel that I don't really see anywhere anymore...I like it. Plus the people are still cool. It's interesting to see a username pop up here that I remember from 10 years ago.

  19. A few things about the community and where BZ Power sits in it which makes me post here. Bionicle Maskposting (Facebook) I like to lurk there and see what's up, but it's often full of dumb jokes and lewd humor. A lot of stoners and edgelords wrapped up in SJW vs Incel debates there too, which kind of detract from the actual Bionicle discussion. Lastly I think it's no secret I am a fan of G1 & G2, but a lot of Maskposters view G2 as a curse and mock people who use CCBS or other G2 stuff. So while it makes me laugh to check Maskposting a few times a day, I have no reason to join the group and post there. EDIT: I guess I should clarify, Maskposting is a lot like South Park for me; funny in small doses, but oftentimes to obtuse or even offensive for me to ever really join in with it. Its clear the moderators of Maskposting are very lax and allow everything under the sun as long as it doesn't get their group banned from Facebook. Maskposting could be truly great if the admins were willing to curtail some of the nonsense, but they never do. r/Bionicle I don't have a Reddit account so, while it's neat to check it out I have no plans of joining it. TTV, still feels like "the young" forums to me; while BZP has been around most my life I didn't know of TTV until about 2015 or so when G2 started. I watch their YouTube content sometimes, but something about TTV's forums still feels juvenile to me. Like I know most of BZP's active user base is about 25 years old, I'd guess that of TTV is 5-10 years younger. I feel like an old man trying to understand the young crowd each time I get on TTV, and I prefer that BZP's fanbase is closer to my age. YouTube. COPPA killed it. Was nice to talk bonks in comment sections, but now almost every set review is "child friendly" and has no place for discussion. Brickset. Huw still has an anti-Bionicle bent. While the comments section got them to finally get Bionicle back into random set of the day rotation... it's still obvious Huw and most of the Brickset team are System purists regarding their news and reviews. Only a few of the younger guys moderating there really are fans of Bionicle, it's a miracle Sokoda's Lego Ideas projects featured on Brickset's homepage at all. I am a big System fan too, and use Bricklink to catalog all my Bionicle sets, but it's clear that most of the staff there really don't care for Bionicle at all. Eurobricks. Their Action Figure forum is quiet. Almost no action lately there at all. MOCpages... yeah that place has sure gone down hill the last few years. Flickr... My other hobby is railfanning, and I have thousands of train photos that would fill up a free Flickr account in minutes. I couldn't ever imagine paying cold hard cash for a Flickr Pro account just so I can have enough room for my railfan photos and Lego stuff. So yeah, BZP really is the only site that caters to my interests specifically still of all the other possible branches of Bionicle fandom.
