HAH! All you silly people who can only count to 10 with your fingers! I can count from zero to 1023 on my FINGERS!
It's a little tricky at first but it's not as hard as it looks.
0000000000 zero
1000000000 one
0100000000 two
1100000000 three
0010000000 four (watch out for this one, it'd be your left middle finger XD)
1010000000 five
0110000000 six
1110000000 seven
0001000000 eight
1001000000 nine
0101000000 ten
1101000000 eleven
0011000000 twelve
1011000000 thirteen
011100000
I just realized how easily misconstrued that title could be.
I also realized that in general my entry title has to do with about a quarter of the blog entry as a whole, on average.
Anyway, vector is awesome. Unfortunately, since I was working on this at 100x100 resolution, it came out kinda bad downsized to 64x64. I'm still tweaking, the below version has slightly greater contrast on the light purple areas.
Enlarged to 200x200 by the magic of the pen tool. It's a heckuva lot better
"Nobody says 'thirteen-thirty-seven!' You say 'one-three-three-seven.' You never say 'thirteen-thirty-seven!'"
"You do if you're making a joke!"
This is apparently what people discuss when walking along the sidewalk. I overheard on the way to Doherty Hall today.
I expect it's worse at MIT though... when we took a campus tour the "endless hallway" had this long paper banner running down the center, that either the graduating seniors or the incoming freshmen grafittied all over. There we
I just spent forty minutes thinking I was locked out of my room and killing time.
Campus security finally comes by and unlocks my door and I head in and guess what? My ID card (and room key) was not on my desk.
No. As it would turn out, when putting it back into my wallet, I'd accidentally stuck it into some random pocket BEHIND my normal school ID and a bunch of other stuff including last year's Columbia ID and some calling cards. A pocket I only bothered to check when I'd come back in to
So about a week ago we're in robotics class and we're out in the hall, 'cuz we're testing our robot, right? If we tried it inside the room MAX would immediately plow into half a dozen chairs and the table. So we've got an entire workstation that we essentially drag out into the hall each class, including four wheely chairs for each member of our group, a small desk with wheels for the laptop, and way too many cables, extension cords, and adapters to keep track of.
The hallway ends up a bit ob
Well, let me start off by saying that my sister is six today, and I got to sing Happy Birthday to her via cell phone. ^w^ But since I mentioned that yesterday, let us move on.
We ended up only playing Laser Tag for the first twenty minutes XD. We went on the Bumper Boats twice, shot water balloons at each other, and somehow found two hundred tickets just lying around the arcade area; after losing track of three dollars worth of tokens of course... *sigh* (NOT MY FAULT) But we probably wouldn'
Nobody break out in song, please.
Tomorrow is my sister's sixth birthday! I'm so happy for her. I'm sad that I can't be there with her though, but I'll definitely call... or they'll call me, since they'll be off doing schtuff the rest of the day. My mom said she'd call when they were ready with the cake and stuff so I could sing happy birthday together with them.
Speaking of which I'd better charge my phone in that case.
Tomorrow we're also going on a trip to Wildwood Highlands, which
So I just finished episode 26 of Neon Genesis Evangelion. To put it in perspective, I started yesterday.
This is something I never thought I'd do. For one thing I've really never been a huge anime fan. Not a hater, just never really that interested.
Well the story of how I ended up here is a bit convoluted. It involves a lot of related video links on "that video site" (you know the place). So basically Sunday night I found myself watching the opening credits for Eva.
Let me just say I l
So we're leaving the robotics lab and we open the front door and suddenly we realize...
It's raining freakin' cats and dogs. And "other small furry animals" as I believe someone else put it.
Since I learned my lesson the last time I got caught in the rain, I had an umbrella on me. So my top half didn't get wet, but my bottom half did, basically. It was raining that hard. Like, there's this huge stone overhang over the entrance to Wean Hall where the robotics lab is, huge ol' shelter I mean
Ta-dah!
Also classes are hard.
Also also. It's really hot.
Also also also. We went on a trip to Kennywood on July 4th.
Also also also. Also. Happy July 4th.
Also I should stop saying also.
So I also discovered this really cool webcomic called the Abominable Charles Christopher. Google it. Don't worry, it's kiddie friendly
So is Kukuburi, really... very different kinds of comics.
Other comics I read, maybe not for the BZP crowd.
Where was I?
Econ is really abstract
Tomorrow I leave for Pittsburgh for a summer program at Carnegie Mellon. Six weeks of college-level courses. What fun.
In the meantime I'm worried cuz my schedule is @*&^!!ed up. Darned budget cuts...
So there's only one session of AP Latin V, only one session of AP Computer Science A, two sessions of AP Physics C but each one is two periods (APs Physics C, Chem, and Bio are all both-day classes) and only two sessions of SAMCLA (AP-weighted high level course, but no AP exam) but they'r
Based on last night's sketch seen below.
At 50% zoom bcuz I'm paranoid >>
It's completely scalable anyway because it's fully vector. Obviously I shaded it more in-depth than I did my previous wp, "Fog." Um, I guess if I'm naming them, this one is "Windy Day."
That's actually not the version on my desktop right now; I added a few more leaves and rearranged them a bit. Might add more wind, leaves, and maybe a gradient tomorrow. We'll see.
Oh and y'oughta recognize the cat.
EDI
A night of reference pictures and incessant doodling, and what do I get?
As usual, only one good sketch, if any.
Might make a new desktop outta it after I vector it.
Hopefully gender is also a bit clearer in this one. I'm working on it...
Yes, yes it is.
Awesome.
So I've put my 3HP Cave Story run aside for now. Instead, genius that I am, I decided to start a NEW run, this time on 3HP AND minimal items.
I'm stuck on Monster X. Duh. Managed to get him down to where I could hurt him, ONCE, then got hit by a @*(&^!! fish missile. I hate those fish missiles. I have developed awesome skillz at killing masses of Gaudis without picking up experience, however. This is important because I like my blade Level 2. It damages fast
See the news article reminded me of this...
For one thing, I definitely would not at least consider that the country Australia makes up the whole continent, since that's not including New Guinea and Tazmania and stuff but then we're also forgetting New Zealand and whatnot which according to Wikipedia is on its own continental shelf. But it's... not really recognized as a continent in any textbooks. So... what do we do about poor unclassified New Zealand?
I always thought we ought to for al
(note: the above character isn't Lyg)
Can anyone tell what gender the above character is supposed to be (larger version of the pic in my av)? Completely unrelated to any persona I have on BZP, I just think I have a bit of trouble with gender distinctions when I'm drawing cats and I want to make it clear.
What is there to blag about?
Lessee... well, today, after a week of not working properly, my wireless tablet mouse died for good. We ordered a new one. In the meantime, I have to use a cruddy -normal- mouse... I'm just so used to the custom sensitivity level that it feels weird using a normal mouse.
Though because it really doesn't work anymore, I got to dissect it!
It's not superficial damage either, I checked and the clicking component itself has stopped responding.
What else?
Yah so I doodled up something the other day which I figure I may as well enter into the weapons contest.
But it needs a name.
It's a blaster-type-thingy, you know, generic energy shooter, with a shield/guard attached to it. Fits over the hand/forearm. Ambiguous controls inside. Fancy mechanical pencil hatching, but that's not important.
I suppose I'm just asking for a bunch of silly suggestions, but... :\
The title is in reference to the fact that I named a previous blog entry the same thing.
AP EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!1ONE
WHOOOOOHOOOO!
SEVEN STRAIGHT HOURS OF TESTING TODAY BUT BOY IT'S OVER.
That means first and last period every day I'll have NOTHING since I had an AP class first and last period every day! The only classes I have left are Computer Programming (haha, class, not really) Latin (don't do too much) and English (essentially my only class, then).
P
First off, so it's nice and noticeable:
EDIT: Scratch that. Vote for B_D.
Secondly, took the AP Calc AB exam today.
Very easy, fairly confident of a 5.
