  1. IC: Sans, Turaga's Hut The Ga-Turaga let the visitors speak, and he listened, then he spoke, and hope they listened. "Tekmo... Skorm... Keitara... Irna... I hear your willingness to serve. Consider this expedition to what lies within the southern swamp your foremost Duty, under the leadership of Waveahk. Again, let me make it clear: he is in charge. He may be the only one who will even be able to approach these mysterious beings due to his condition. I expect you all will want to rest before you head out, so feel free to find some place within the village to rest, just not here huhuhuhuhu. And Waveahk, please carry Skyra back to her beloved's hut; I'm sure her wife will be willing to take care of her from here. Ask Rose if she and Skyra want to join too, I guess, though I truthfully don't want so many heroes on a single mission. I can't stop them from joining, but I believe the five of you should suffice. Know this, though: this mission is only to make contact. None of you are to engage any of these spirits. We don't want to anger them before we even know who or what they truly are. And any Zakazians you see on the way, nullify. Try not to kill anyone, but don't allow those creatures in the sack to be stolen." Sans walked towards his door, opened it, then gestured towards the outside. "Now, be gone with you, all of you. Set your affairs in order, and watch each other's backs out there. Please, for me. There's been enough loss recently, don't let us lose any more." OOC: @Conway @Keeper of Kraata @Snelly @TL01 NUVA @Toru Nui

  2. IC: Nale Vella - "Po-Koro" "Right, yes," Nale replied, "thank you." More rest. It felt like all she ever did was rest, stuck in this shack. And now she was alone here, now that Arkius had gone on his crusade...if she was in better spirits, and uninjured, she wondered if she'd be by his side currently... Another knock at the door. The Fa-Toa let out a sigh and looked to Pardehi. "Could you get that for me?" @Biological Chronicler@Harvali IC: Datrox Karvan - Navu's Hut "Yes," I suddenly responded. I placed the pillow on the floor, fluffing it slightly. "Like I said, I'll be gone in the morning. Thank you again." @Toru Nui

  3. IC [Nektann - Fort Nektann]: “Good, now everyone is happy.” Nektann clapped once, with enough force to squash a Thornax between his meaty palms. “So, anything else? How are things down South?” OOC: @Conway @Burnmad IC [Takadox - The Wasteland] The Barraki paused as he and his guide scaled another ridge. Looking up, he could see the silhouette of the giant robot slowly tumbling through orbit overhead in the evening sky. “This’s a bad place to stay.” Skerek said. “We oughta keep moving.” “We’ve been moving all day, I’m tired and my feet are about to fall off. We’re making camp.” He didn’t even bother with the politeness anymore. “Okey dokey Mr. Turkedurr.” Ugh. The Skakdi started to drop off his traveling pack and rolled out a sleeping mat. It used to be his. Now it belonged to the warlord. Takadox plopped down on the bedding, canteen in hand. “What’s got you so worried, anyway?” “Uh, well...you see, no one ever comes round these parts for long. Dunno why, it’s just bad. Word is, there’s creeps out in these wilds. I ain’t ever seen one. Don’t intend to neither. They call ‘em Mesi.” “Mesi, huh? Well, if they decide to show their face, I’m sure to take a good look at them.” “Yeah...sure.” Skerek replied, sitting on a rock and glancing around nervously. OOC: @Toru Nui There might be a trail to follow soon-ish.

  4. IC: Korio Karasha - The Rig (Mall) Korio scratched his chin, taking in the order from his liege. "Oi, right, linen shop..." he less replied, more echoed as if he'd never spoken the words and was translating them for himself. The Vo-Skakdi nodded twice, then turned and headed to the linen shop (paying little mind to Zai's barking), allowing the two Skakdi women to converse over what was once an informant, now a corpse with its head turned the wrong way. Immediately, a nice set of ornate curtains caught his eyes, and Kor removed his goggles to take a closer look at them, running the fabric through his hands. "Oh, beauty! I've been needin' some new curtains. Hate pryin' eyes. Ya feel me, mate?" The shopkeeper stared blankly. @EmperorWhenua@Dane IC: Datrox Karvan - Navu's Hut "Hm? Oh, no," I replied, shaking my head. "You've been very helpful already, Navu. I hope I haven't disturbed anything by being here." A glance to the window revealed the night had pressed on, and I realized I wasn't sure when was appropriate to turn in when staying at a complete stranger's home. I drummed my fingers against the pillow in my hands. @Toru Nui

  5. Ride the crab? Yes or No? Ussal Crabs are a species of domesticated animal on Okoto commonly used to ferry passengers and cargo. One of the more famous crabs, Pewku started her career as a racing crab used by the future captain of the Ussalry the earth villager Onepu. A common example of her species, Pewku with careful training and skill went on to become an early champion of many Ussal races in the years prior to the arrival of the Toa. The crab was outfitted with special racing colors, a blue and yellow scheme in contrast with her natural brown and black colors; and was a crowd favorite in many races. However, the increasing threat of the Skull Spiders forced Pewku into retirement. After the Skull Spider and other threats had passed; Pewku had grown to old for the racing circuit and Onepu retired the crab for his current purple armored mount. Pewku had been sold to Midak, an earth villager who used the aging crab in a subterranean taxi servic. Eventually though the Ussal caught the eye of wander-prone fire villager Takua; who purchased her. For several years after the Defeat of Makuta, Takua and his partner the famed archaeologist Harvali used Pewku as a mount to carry equipment and tools during their frequent explorations across Okoto's wilderness. Since Harvali departed over the seas several years ago searching for the lost continent to the east, Takua has kept the crab at his home on the outskirts of the Fire Village, on occasion using her to carry musical equipment for his band "The Chronicler's Company." Pewku is a character I have long wanted to do in CCBS, but I have yet to have a spark of inspiration on how to tackle the crab. I felt that if I were to do Pewku, I'd have to make her large like her 2003 set was; and wasn't particularly looking forward to investing so many parts into one character. Well today I got the idea to check my parts bin, and noticed the Star Wars back piece designed to fit over a Toa Master's gearbox, made for a really decent crab shell shape. The rest just started to flow from there. Yes, the crab has only four legs instead of six, but I am happy to have a smaller build more reminiscent of Pewku's MNOG appearances. Yes, just barely big enough to fit a G2 villager figure on her back too; with enough attachment points I could feasibly add a cart or something in the future. Pretty happy with how this small build turned out.

  10. IC Kanohi - Po-Koro ”If that Toa Nale is okay, then yes we can,” then Kanohi hesitated, and spoke quieter. Toa Nale … did not need this burden. Not after everything, “there is something else. A Turaga of Earth is joining us. She apparently is a native of this island. She says this island used to be inhabited by Matoran, but the Skakdi-Xa … killed them all. Metru-Koro will need to know. Oh, I will need to inform Turaga Jovan too.” Then louder he said, “Toa Nale, I just wanted to say goodbye, hopefully this journey will be quick. Please rest. You have worked harder enough for us.” Then he bowed away and walked away, his staff tapping the ground as a third leg. He would head to inform the Turaga of Po-Koro, the camp needed to know. Given the knowledge he had just learned, they were far too close to that Skakdi fort to be unaware of the island’s history. OOC: @Tarn @Biological Chronicler

The answer was here, somewhere in the layout and iconography, but she was starting to suspect something had been lost, hidden, or destroyed in the time this temple had been abandoned. Hexagonal layout. Twelve pillars. Several different numbers of icons on the painted panels. It all fit together somehow. She returned to the Suva, braced herself against it, and gave it an experimental push towards the left. If this temple was some kind of combination lock - assuming she was even on the right track with that kind of thinking - then perhaps the Suva was the dial. @Unreliable Narrator

  14. IC Kanohi - Po-Koro Kanohi nodded, but still could not match her gaze. “Thank you, Turaga, but it is okay. Um, if it’s alright, may I ask what your name is?” A thousand other questions spun in his head, but his guilt restrained him. There … there would be time for questions. Hopefully. In the meantime he pulled a stone tablet from underneath his armor, handing it the Turaga to shoe a rough map. “It’s little out of date, but this shows where Metru-Koro lies. In case we get separated or something goes wrong. I-I think I should warn you, I am not a fighter. During the invasion I rescued Matoran when their homes and bridges collapsed, tried to rescue them and repair damages to the city. But I did not fight. I … don’t have it in me. So um, I will not be much help if the Barraki do find us. Though I-I could try to be a distraction so the rest of you could escape. B-but it hopefully would not come to that.” He nodded to the strange Toa. Funny, he did not seem as troubled as the Turaga. But to survive a genocide unfazed, it was … if Toa were … if they could be b-broken, did that make Toa Ulkarr strong to endure, or did that make him even more broken? He … he spoke with emotion earlier, he surely did care. But it was … it must be strength. But all he said was, “You are right, Toa Ulkarr, I should say goodbye, and speak to the medic who is coming with us. Thank you.” He bowed his head low and then walked over to Nale’s hit, his armor jingling with each step. Finally he reached the door, and knocked against it. 19. IC Kanohi - Po-Koro Kanohi stared at the two of them in surprise, not sure how to respond. This was … there were Matoran from outside the universe? The Skakdi weren’t natives but invaders who slaughtered the indigenous Matoran? There had been a second genocide of Matoran? But other Matoran existed, so there may be other Matoran elsewhere on other worlds? It was … it was so much to take in. And then it hit him, he had only reminded this Turaga of her people’s genocide. He had rubbed more poison into her festering wound. Made even the wisdom of a Turaga snap to anger. How … how could he be so stupid? So cruel? He couldn’t even match her gaze, his heartlight began to flash like a bioquake tearing apart an island, Finally he managed to squeak out, “I-I am sorry sorry, Turaga, Toa. I did not know Matoran had lived here once. I … and more of us are dead. Sorry I am not trying to make it about me, I cannot begin to imagine what you have suffered. I am sorry for my foolishness, I am so sorry. And I-I — listen, if there is anything we can do to help you, it is done. If you rather not travel with us, I understand. You … you have endured enough.” He thought of Toa Nale and shuddered, what had she faced in the Archives? ”Um,” his heartlight buzzed with his stammering words, “there is a refugee camp to the south where most of our people and other people have gathered. They call it Metru-Koro. I was going to head over there once we find the Vo-Matoran, see what help the village needs. Its not too far from the spot she vanished. Sorry um, what I mean is, if you want, you can take refuge there. And they … will need to know the history of the island. I … I thought the Skakdi might be hostile because our crash crushed part of their island. I was an exception, but others might have thought that. But if they … Metru-Koro needs to know the danger. I can tell them though, you don’t need to remember. Unless you want to I mean, it’s not my place to tell you what to — sorry.” His fingers shook like feathers on the wind, unstable and thrown about. He was not enthusiastic about attempting neggociation with the Matoran after the travesty that had been the Battle of Metru Nui. They are some of the most deceitful, insidious people you will ever have the curse of meeting in your entire existence. They will try to get inside your head and twist your mind for their own selfish needs. If you allow them, they will lead you astray." He looked Ostrox in the eye. 22. IC Kanohi - Po-Koro ”How … do you not know?“ Kanohi stared at the two strangers like Fikou were climbing out of their eyes, “I-I mean the League of Six Kingdoms, the warlords who conquered almost all of our old universe. The ones who were invading Metru-Nui, the last island that still resisted. How they slaughtered the Matoran, and then … I don’t know, maybe it was the strain of battle or the sheer deaths, but the universe just … broke and crashed. The remains of Metru-Nui and the chunk of ... the universe it was in still remain over there, blotting out the stars.” He pointed to the remains of Mata-Nui, the gigantic head just visible off in the distance. “The surviving Barraki and their armies took over the wreckage, they still live there now. I … if we have to get close to them, we will need to be careful and quiet. They are probably devastated by the fall, same as we were, if the war resumed, none of us would survive. And too many have died already.” Kanohi shivered, “I do not mean to be rude, but the ability to turn invisible could be the difference between the Barraki finding us, and us saving the Matoran.” ”How do you not know this though? You … we were all there, the rest of the universe was lost during the impact, only those of us in Metru-Nui are here, except the local Skakdi.” OOC: @Toru Nui

  28. @Biological Chronicler I considered that; but it's also what I've planned to do with Varxii in her part of the post, so I thought it wouldn't be great to have both my characters depending on others approaching them, rather than taking the initiative myself with one of them. 29. WIP, will unspoiler when complete. or not new editor is weird, it's ready for a look over tho. hey i did it, thanks @Onaku Name: Kathrine of the Flame Breed: Toa of Fire Faction: Metru Nui(?) Description: Standing 1.8 bio tall with a dense, lean physique, Kathrine has spent years of her life training as a monk of the Order of the Kanohi Dragon, and it shows. Her colors are usually quite dull, dark reds and greys, with the brightest colors being her striking purple eyes and heartlight. A Calix accentuates a face that is youthful and cheery. Kathrine simply looks friendly. She has an almost unshakable relaxed demeanor that lends an air of trustworthy confidence. Background: Hailing from an island to the south, far from Metru Nui and it's politics, Kathrine led a fairly peaceful life, part of a monastic order of Elemenals who had trained to link themselves more closely to their elements. These monks, the Order of the Kanohi Dragon, maintained a fierce neutrality, opting instead to open their teachings to all who chose to walk the path of the Dragon. Trained from her earliest days as a Toa by a Master Lhii, Kat has abilities beyond that of a normal Toa. Aside from sparring sessions with her fellows, however, her only real combat experience has was a fight against a Manas Crab which had made it's way to one of the island's caves. Flaws: Kat has an almost pathological need to test her strength against high caliber fighters and beings. As such, she may often throw herself into unwinnable situations just for a chance to get stronger or to fight someone powerful, whether as a sparring match or something more. She also has an unfortunate habit of leaving her guard down until the last possible second Powers/Equipment: The Fighting Flame- Kathrine's Elemental power of Fire is linked directly to her spirit. So long as she maintains the will to fight, her flames will similarly remain lit. This also means that the more determined she is to fight and win, the more powerful her elemental and physical abilities become. The extent of this ability is not known to her, yet. This is not without drawbacks, as her very much regular Toa body will not sustain high amounts of energy forever, and if she loses herself to the rhythm of battle, she could very well melt down or burn out. Tuning Fork Staff- After an encounter in Po-koro, Kathrine has a simple protodermis staff tipped with blunt metal tines, similar to a tuning fork. this staff once belonged to Reson, a Toa of Sonics who bargained his own life in exchange for that of a captive Matoran. Kanohi Calix- This ordinary Great Mask of Fate was a gift from Kathrine's mentor, Master Lhii, and has all the abilities of any other Great Calix, allowing her to perform at the very peak of her abilities.

The three panels had to have been painted for a reason. Matoran were sentimental sorts, to be sure, but there had to be something special about these three particular images for only them to be painted out of everything else on the Suva. Perhaps it was a clue to opening it? Sidra stepped back, taking in all three images. Toa and Matoran, shorelines and stars. There were a myriad of possible meanings to the images. Did this apparent puzzle revolve around the species involved, the directions the figures were facing, or... the numbers? Perhaps this was some kind of combination lock? And if it was, there had to be some means to activate it. She turned her attention towards the twelve pillars spaced out around the temple - those that were still intact - and began to inspect them more closely, searching for any markings or mechanisms that might correspond with the clues on the Suva. @Unreliable Narrator

  35. Metru-Koro, Sans' Hut IC: your kind Keitara's blood ran cold hearing those words, then red hot. Blue light crackled around her fingers and from the corners of her eyes. A memory tore itself free from the miasma. Her, a small matoran, scouting for cave mushrooms in the core. She and the others had been dumped in the cavern, with no knowledge of the land and very few supplies. The single toa who had been sent to guard them, a fire elemental, was of little use outside of combat. If one of them hadn't trained under a Fe-matoran who happened to be a retired Ghost then they would all have been dead. She had been able to scavange scraps from their battered transport and built several lift packs for foragers to seek out food sources. There had been a family of zyglak hiding in the cave she landed in. Thay hadn't been aggressive, they were just scared and hungry. Kei offered them some help accessing a patch of cave fungus they had been unable to reach, and spent some time talking to the beings. When she returned with the news, she had hoped that they could team up with this small group, use their experience living in the core to help the Av-matoran survive. The matoran she told, Solek, had been terrified. He recoiled from her when she told him about the shared meal. Within minutes she had been tied to a stake outside the village "for their protection, we don't know what you caught off of those beasts" and a group of Av-matoran left accompanied by the toa. When they returned she could smell the smoke. It had been months before anybody interacted with her again, and years before she was granted a new pack and allowed to explore the core. One day she returned to the cave, and what she saw there haunted her for long after. Everytime she was in darkness she saw the gruesome remnants of the once living, thinking beings she had so briefly befriended... In the present, Keitara let out a low growl. "Don't talk to like she's some kind of trained rahi, you-" She cut herself off when she realized who she was talking to. Cursing out a settlement's Turaga was no way to endear yourself. "Sorry, Wise One." she muttered resentfully, pointedly staring at the wall behind Sans. (OOC: @Azibo @Conway)

When the Matoran awoke he … he said the Skakdi has ran over his companion, and broke his mask. Toa Ulkarr, me, and a medic are going to head south to try to reach her. It … it is probably too late, but she … so many are dead, she at least deserves rest.” ”Her companion also wanted us to find some sort of weapon that creates miniature Knowledge Towers, like the ones in Ko-Metru. The two of them wanted to use the crystals to build a Knowledge Tower here, as a shelter. It doesn’t matter as much as the Vo-Matoran though.” ”…Turaga, you are a Turaga of Earth, right? If ... if it’s okay to ask, the spot she went missing is … it’s mountainous, if you think you could help on that terrain, I mean, if it’s not a trouble, did you think you can journey with us. And if we get too close to the … domain of the Barraki, it would be good to have someone who can use a Huna.” And that reminded Kanohi, he didn’t know much about the Toa here. “Um, mister Toa, what is your element? And your mask I … am afraid I don’t recognize it.” OOC: @Toru Nui

  38. IC: Sans, Turaga's Hut "Skyra, maybe you should take a little nap on the couch for a minute..." the elder Turaga nodded his head towards the tipsy Toa as if to confirm that they both agreed she might need to rest a minute. OOC: @Snelly

  39. IC: Irna | Sans' Hut Your kind. "Irna," she said, and she rose up to her full and fearsome height, "the sixth-born of Perror, of the Northern Continent. And I go with Waveahk to help the good people of Metru-Koro." OOC: @Azibo IC: Parnassus | Fort Nektann The Aspect grinned. "I think I can manage that, my friend." OOC: @Vezok's Friend @Burnmad -Void

  40. IC: Zaliyah - The Coliseum "Very well," she replied, though she was far from enthusiastic, "Lead on." The more League operatives that were roped into this, the greater the likelihood that someone would try to hijack negotiations in their own favour. The loss of four of the six Barraki had left a power vacuum that the others were becoming all too eager to fill. @Toru Nui

  41. No, but I vaguely recall seeing it floating around when IFB was new. Right, but if they got someone better than Greg to do the writing, they'd have a stronger story. I still maintain that an RPG of any kind is the best route. Not only would it be the best medium for Bionicle as a narrative and setting, but it'd have a lot of mass appeal. Something like Skyrim is a bit ambitious, so I'd bet on something like Octopath in terms of scope and direction. That game's also good in how it handles having multiple protagonists, even if some of them (COUGHCOUGHalfynCOUGH) kinda suck. I actually had vidya in mind. Honestly, I'd love to see Bionicle get a movie/game adaptation after being handed off from Lego, then Lego making sets based on the IP that they ditched. Not happening, of course, but that would be something.

  42. IC: Thom - Onu-Metru (Spying on the targets at the crime scene) Laid prone on the rooftops, Thom wasn't far from Waveahk's position. The metal stock pressed against his shoulder as he looked down upon the bunch grouped on the carcass that was once the chief engineer. The Ko-Skakdi's uncovered eye glimmered again as he took note of the identities of the people seeming to take interest in his former hit. Overly vigilant Toa with the rifle. Almost regret not shooting her when I had the chance. The Po-Toa that charged past me and went after Vyarik. Hold on... Behind the iron sights, Thom squinted. Speak of Irnakk, there's Vyarik. Talking with one of the droids. Surprised the Po-Toa didn't beat him into a pulp, but he's got a thing going here, it looks like. And, last but not least. The pipsqueak from before, with the lightstone rifle. Hold on...what's he looking at? The Matoran appeared to be searching Nuparu's body. But...why? What was he looking for? Thom rolled his shoulders, keeping his visible eye locked on the Fe-Matoran. OOC: hi everyone
