  1. Thanks! He is slightly hunched, but it started to look a little weird when I tried exaggerating it IMO. Judging by the nigh universal repulsion to these proportions, it seems I might just be looking at it the wrong way, though I'm not really fond of the limbs either. The arms are as simple as they are because of a lack of designs that I know can make an arm that small and make it well armored, though if you know any I'd love to see them. Actually, the color is a result of trying to include the blue that is present in his armor elsewhere, as including it on his body cluttered the color-scheme.
  2. Whew. Got it built, photographed and posted in time. It looks like BFTGM really increased participation and traffic on BZP. This is one of the largest volumes of entries I've ever seen (for a BZP contest).
  3. The proportions are kinda funky (as they are in most of BIONICLE), but I tried to remedy it a bit with longer legs and non-clown-shoes. It might be that the length of the Cordak blaster and claws are distorting it a bit. However, I was trying for a generally stockier build, as I always imagined Matoro as a bit shorter and more physically reserved. Thanks! What don't you like about the torso?
  4. Matoro's my entry to BBC #69, and I must say I didn't realize how many people would build him Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated. (so are votes)
  5. It's gadunkafunky to say the least. I love the concept, but I'm not too keen on the execution, though it might just be the photography, which I think kinda misses the roundness. The hands are great, the tongue is great, the function is great, but I feel like it's missing solidity. While the top of the head is solid and conveys a surface, the view through the mouth and out the back leaves something to be desired. The main two remedies I'd suggest are photographing on a grey/black background, and changing the teeth color to silver. Otherwise, he's pretty neatunka.
  6. One brick to rule them all (insert ambassador's logo) Building Diplomatically
  7. Massachusetts isn't a word. It isn't real for that matter either.
  8. Can I PM you to make sure it ain't the same guy?
  9. Absolutely amazing. I almost feel sad looking at this, 'cus I don't stand a chance anymore. The head is pure genius, especially the mandibles, and the ice-shields are perfectly made. The only thing I have even a minor issue with is the chest, which is a bit gappy, but wow. This is amazing.
  10. Honestly, I'd like to see G2 barraki. I loved the organic armor and nature-inspired vibe, and I can see it meshing really well with the new setting. Functions could include snapping claws, extendable jaws, punching features (a la mantis shrimp), etc etc etc. Of course, this would also include new, more pastelle colors and glow in the dark.
  11. OMG THIS IS SO AMAZING MAY I USE THIS
  12. Thank you all! Do you live here? It's this piece, though I'm not sure where I got it.

    Eugh......

Blog contests rarely get many entries, and the nature of yours is a bit off-putting (at least for me, as I don't want to potentially damage any parts).
  14. Your entry doesn't need to have a precursor set, no. Sorry – I misread the topic to say any 2001 character. All of Gen 1 makes a bit more sense
  15. Just for clarification: is this any character introduced in 2001, or just characters depicted in set form?
  16. Or you could have just watched the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
  17. That's not very Bionice of you
  18. The contest seems fun, but I still have no idea what I'm supposed to built and the prizes seem relatively mediocre
  19. I'm Paleo. I'd jump. A little bit. Like not much. Maybe 3…no 5 inches. Yeah. I'd jump 5 inches.

  24. Thanks! The minifig legs just kind of ended up like that. I'm sure I could rework them to actually attach to the body, but the SNOT setup below him ended up giving him a fetal position. Plus I kinda prefer them as they are because they more realistically portray a seated position.
