  1. Welcome to the game, Jamags! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but is it fair, that my character being a weapons master, carries a cache of weapons around with him to put in his place of residence for use? I.e. I let Gariar pick from my box o' goodies, and now he and I are armed with weapons that were not in our profiles, specifically knives and explosives for me, and an underwater flashbang launcher for him. Obviously, these aren't going to be OP-insta-kill weapons, but I'm worried that this is unbalanced. So is it OK? My first RPG, so I'm just trying to play it safe.
  2. Has nobody said a Shadow Takanuva? Also, definitely more repaints of new masks. Just loads of 'em, ranging from Metru green Hunas to white Trynas.
  3. I feel that at the end, there were a number of set-wise improvements: going back to the original colors, superior articulation, getting a launcher that satisfied everyone, vehicles, and super-titans (Mata Nui and Takanuva '08). I didn't really like the new heads. However, I think that the story (like the serials we got at the end) was fantastic at and after Bionicle ended, bringing together two universes. I feel that there remains so much untapped potential in those shorts. Farshtey got his groove. That said, I liked the pre-Bara Magna comics better (in general, Journey's End was great). I also think, like Ranchir, that the Stars were unfairly maligned. In my opinion, they are the finest "small" sets we've ever seen, thousands of times better than the rubbish Av-Matoran. Heck, I think they could even go up against the Mata.
  4. I'm not sure if this is sets or character or overall, but here we go!Mata: OnuaNuva: Onua NuvaMetru: Vakama or Nuju or WhenuaHordika: NujuHagah: NorikInika: NuparuMahri: Nuparu or MatoroAnd then we get Nuva again.I say special mention for Matoro for saving the universe, Nuparu for being an awesome engineer-hero, and Onua for being strong, silent, and wise. But truly, I love all the Bionicles and all the Toa.Honorable mention to Matau: for making the 2nd and 3rd movies watcheable.
  5. IC: Torvoth Spitting curses and flailing his chainblade in a wild, protective arc, Torvoth frantically blinked to get his sight back from the erstwhile Flashbang. However, the sharks were much worse off. Having lived all their lives in the near-blackness of the Pit, exposure to a star-bright light at close range blinded them, maybe even permanently. "Finish them off. Put them out of their misery," he told Gariar, or at least the blob that he thought was Gariar.
  6. This. Bionicle in every way.
  7. I like how every piece slides together without looking out of place, despite a variety of colors that (IMO) might be clashing, the black, silver, white, green, and grey. I'm wondering, do you have any pictures that show the "light-up heart" gimmick? I think that'd be really cool!
  8. IC: Torvoth As Gariar carefully readied his weapon, Torvoth was very busy staring at the two massive Rahi. "Say, do you think that those sharks... are reaaaally big? And are kind of weird? You know, with the tentacles coming out of their fins and far too many jagged teeth? Maybe mutated even?" So enamored was he with the sharks that Gariar needed to shove him down as one of them swooped over again. "Are you going to fire that thing?" he asked the Toa. "I was saving you! That shark would've bitten off half of you in one little bite!" "Which half?" Gariar didn't justify the question with a reply, once more returning to give the sharks a mouthful of explosive.
  9. I think I've lost one of Iruini's Rhotuka Spinners, but currently I'm more irritated by the loss of a small plastic bag which contained Tahu Stars' Hau, the non-gold armor parts of him, a silver Pakari and a silver Akaku. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the house, misplaced during a "cleaning" session, but I'm still looking for it.
  10. The first I ever saw was Onua Mata, because he was on the 2001 Lego Catalogue which I found in my Jack Stone lego sets.
  11. I'm pretty sure I lost one of the Toa Hagah's Rhotuka...I think Iruini's... but otherwise, I've been good!
  12. I personally never dunked my Mahri when I was little because, like the others, I was scared. I haven't done it in the recent past because I'm worried about the cordaks rusting. That said, aren't most Bionicles buoyant? Are there any that aren't or is there some easy way to make them sink for seafloor reenactments? Besides gluing lead weights to their feet.
  13. This is a great endeavor! Also, I love the pictures... and I think this is a great activity (or perhaps something of the sort) to do with other Bionicle-loving friends. I have to say, this really made me smile. I await!
  14. Where do I start? The other four Toa Hagah, more Matoran (Chronicler's Company), Baterra (though I kinda like how the lack of sets make them seem more "mythical" and dangerous)... I want a Toa Mangai Nidhiki, but with better mask - I feel the silver and lack of symmetry wrecks the current Volitak. Oh, and Helryx! I'll stop before this list gets too long.
  15. I'm happy that this topic has taken off and interestingly spun to what is being displayed in the room. Thus, I feel it is only fitting to update according to the times. In my room, I have displayed: Pyrox 2 Fikous Toa Mahri Nuparu All Toa Mata (all missing gears, but with Onua switched out for a Hero Factory/Bionicle 2.0 MoC of him) Makuta (2003) looms over the Toa Mata The Toa Nuva (2008) dominate the shelf below their Mata forms, except for Toa Nuva Mistika Gali. I always thought she was too burly and ugly.
  16. A bit of eBay, a bit of BrickLink (parts), and BZPower members.
  17. IC: Torvoth "Frankly, I have no idea what that launcher even does... so... umm, how do I say this? I'd just like to say that if It explodes or something and maybe tears of your forearm, it's totally not my fault," he told Gariar as they swam out of Aqua Nui. "The one at my hip I know can shoot anything, from rocks to compressed air." Ahead of them, a great darkness was clenched in the water. They swam a little bit closer, still several hundred bio away. The darkness came from what appeared to be the lip of a great hole. This was the Pit.
  18. IC: Torvoth "I made it myself. Took a boatload of teleport and regeneration Kanoka Disks, but the secret ingredients are secret. I never met Anuka 'til today. I haven't seen Coren in ages, but," he lowered his voice "he and I met way back on Xia. All I'll say is he's not your average Toa. Or fish-Toa." All of a sudden, he realized what he'd said to Gariar. "Sorry... I mean, you aren't a fish, you're amphibia... I'll shut up and stick to what I know. Weapons, not social skills." He pulled on a bandolier of explosives, an array of startlingly bizarre-looking knives, and holstered a strange launcher. "Ready?"
  19. IC: Torvoth "In case you were wondering, the reason so many weapons are packed into that trunk is because it is a quasi-dimensional storage unit that accesses a pocket in the void between universes," Torvoth explained to Gariar when the weapons NEVER seemed to stop pouring out."And do you mean my story with the Lost, with Coren and Anuka, or my personal story?"
  20. IC: Torvoth Gariar caught up to Torvoth just as he was entering his borrowed hut. Torvoth nodded in greeting and gestured to a large, brown trunk. "All the weapons you'll need are in ther-" he broke off and swiftly lunged forward and slid a briefcase from the only worktable and lobbed it behind a toolrack. He straightened up. "You didn't see that... oh, I suppose I still don't know your name. Can you enlighten me?"
  21. IC: Torvoth "What about you, Toa of fashionable black armor?" he asked Gariar. "Trust me, it's great and all down here in Aqua Nui, but nobody likes to do anything fun! Wait... Anuka said there was plenty adventure over in the big dark Pit over there? Adventure, so close that I don't even need to pack my bags? I mean, I was originally thinking about going on a treasure hunt, maybe loot some sunken Brotherhood fortresses-" At this point, the others began looking at each other, suddenly worried slightly more than usual about Torvoth's mental competence. "But I'll try this first! Meet me at my hut - it's the one over there - if you want to come along!" Before anyone could reply, Torvoth sprinted away, eager to prepare himself to discover 'adventures'* in the Pit. In the minds of the three Lost Toa, there was only one thought: Did he really just decide to go the Pit? FOR FUN? * = probably death OOC: "provide interaction" means what exactly, in this context? You'll tag along, or just, you know, acknowledge it? Also, Torvoth has no idea what exactly the Pit entails, besides a big, dark pit in the bottom of the ocean filled with ADVENTURE.
  22. Custom painted. Kiba said so earlier.
  23. I agree that the torso pieces and color stand out, but otherwise I like how thickly and sturdily he's built.
  24. IC:TorvothThankfully, Coren had made his decision for him and quickly."Who's this?" He asked, indicating the black-and-purple-armored Lost Toa. "I like how he knows that any armor looks good in black." He looked at Coren and Anuka, both of whom seemed slightly annoyed by his reappearance. "Hey, I've been getting twitchy, the kind of twitchy that I get when I don't engage in violence for a while - who is up for an adventure?"
