  1. In contrast, I actually think the staff is the best bit. It's incredibly difficult to encapsulate a part as small as Norik's staff using different pieces, but it's still recognisable. The use of the engine shaft pieces is particularly clever.
  2. I think a shout out for CeeCee's avs is needed here. Particularly Jaller.
  3. Ah, a BBC contest comes along and reminds me I left all my Lego at home when I came to Uni. Hopefully there'll be another contest at Christmas when parts are more accessible. Looks like a good theme at least, should be some interesting entries here, if none from me. Lots of room for variation. Strange sci-fi brain stuff, and at the same time horrific zombie-toran. Looking forward to it.
  4. I want to start a trend of wishing him a happy birthday in a different one of his many names in each post. So Happy Birthday Affably Evil Automaton!
  5. That's no boat...Happy Birthday Sam. Enjoy your first day of being allowed to do all the exciting stuff that being 18 brings. And Happy Halloween as well.
  6. I think matching Templar's style requires keeping the masks mixed up. I think people probably do prefer the nostalgia of having the masks mixed up anyway, there's probably plenty of people who want that canon, like other mask changes between MNOG 1 and 2.

    Sherlock

I'm not sure I'm a big fan of Moriarty's portrayal either, but I certainly think the whole 'consultant criminal' thing works well to counter the 'consultant detective.'
  8. To watch, my preference is motorsport, and obviously it's pinnacle, Formula 1. To do is kickboxing, which is all I do regularly, although I also do occassional football with friends.
  9. I guess this is interesting, but I don't really see the logic. Simpsons is character based story, not action based, and a lot of the most popular places in the Simpsons aren't really child friendly. The nuclear plant would be cool, but Moe's Tavern isn't an appropriate toy idea. They actually joked about that on the program in the episode "Moe Baby Blues."
  10. I was trying to pull off this wooden ship kind of look when building the other day, but I gave up. This thing looks really sweet. The barrels with the axel connectors are fantastic. I feel perhaps the reds a bit lost in it though. I'm not certain, but I'd be interested to see what it would be like if the trans red was replaced with something like trans blue or green. Wish I had these kind of skills when it comes to making system ships though. Or that many barrels.
  11. So much to consider. Cryoshell is good, the soundtracks to the first 3 Bionicle films were brilliant, particularly some of the WoS stuff. And then there's MNOGs music, so much brilliance there. I can't beat the nostalgia of the music that plays when Taipu breaks through to Le-Wahi. I'd go with that as my favourite.
  12. This is actually a clip from the TV show? Because some of the moves he does there...the resemblance is uncanny.
  13. I have no HF sets or parts, and so no experience of the building system, but based on other primarily HF based creations I've seen, this is brilliant. I think what really warms me to it is that the back is armoured. HF sets and MOCs always have really gappy parts in the armour, and often the skeleton is just totally visible from behind. The torso here is much more complete here. The integration of the brain slug is expertly done, it took me a while to spot it, and the scorpion sting really looks like a continuation of it, slug and hero are one, and the spikes on the arms and shins really finish that look off nicely.
  14. I'd say this is most comparable to the music in MNOG when you take the lift across the Tren Krom Break. It doesn't have the friendly atmosphere the most popular MNOG songs have though.
  15. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a pretty well known hint at Mata Nui's true nature. Most people spotted it when the mask was seen in this form in 2007, but it became obvious when we saw the codrex keystones in 2008. There are a lot more hints to it out there though, and its perfectly possible there are some people haven't pointed out yet.
  16. Shame the Kahu that was in my poll didn't make it to the Final, as I voted for that over my own entry, and would certainly have voted it top in this. Anyway, that's not an option, so I've gone for the Game hen.
  17. Does anyone have a cropped version of Onewa's workbench? It's also dotted about in Nuparu77s MNOLG sequel in Ta-koro and Onu-koro. Was just wondering if anyone had a version on its own?
  18. IC: Eidolon and Ranama "Only what I've already said. Zahkon obviously attacked Tepi, and someone rushed the body away pretty hastily." "That was Zahkon," Ranama said coldly. "Ran off to dispose of the corpse." "Then the only one who will know where Tepi is, is Zahkon," Eidolon concluded.
  19. Brilliant, and virtually indistinguishable from the original animations. I'm not 100% on a single bamboo disk being able to take down a Bohrok though, although I guess without that working, its going to be very difficult to do Bohrok/Matoran fights without Boxors.
  20. I feel the spinnies idea worked well in the beginning, but people didn't expect the site to last this long? I would reduce the number of spinnies, to one for your first year, then third year, sixth year, and every three years. Just how I think it should be though.
  21. That is one...interesting...mickey mouse mosaic there. Other than that, a lot of the usual amazing convention stuff I'd like to see in person some day.
  22. 2001: Akamai is the most I can throw forward here, I had that as a combiner, not a set though. 2002: Bahrag are awesome 2003: Ussanui isn't that big, but awesome. 2004: Not the best year for big sets really. 2005: Tower of Toa, does that count? 2006: Kardas is awesome. 2007: Only have Karzahni as large set there. 2008: Axalara T9 is biblically awesome. 2009: Again, I have no big sets from that year, unless you count Cendox, which isn't actually that fun a build.
  23. I skim read that, but a partial answer to some of these problems would be the GBs were into experimenting. They probably didn't go with an 'ark' to escape the planet because they wanted to see if they could rise to the challenge of reforming the planet. As for anything else you've said, I can only throw in the Greg's physics card as you said, which is a bit disappointing really.
  24. Well...thats a downer. I wanted to check on some of the reviews of my old epics. While I have the epics stored for myself, I don't have the reviews. That is the past though I guess. RIP past.
