  1. There is some Chro-spiration, I'll grant you that. I guess the feet are kind of clownish, and possibly the height of the shoulders as well. Yeah, I can see your point with the upper arms. They're one of the parts of the body I find hardest, because its very easy to make ones that look good but lose all posability. These ones aren't that bulky, but they're as posable as arms get. I've had a thing for making custom feet with recent MOCs, and I think they've been getting a bit big. These ones I think I built backwards as well. They look alright, but if you take it off the leg, it has a very similar side-on profile to the original mata feet, except backwards. I thought long and hard about the masks, I tried literally every Metru red mask I have on it, and concluded this looked the best. I know it's not the most popular mask out there, but it gets the job done here I think.
  2. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] Once a Toa of fire (Sometimes known as my BBC 63 entry), Voran was attacked by Shadow leeches, and altered by the Brotherhood of Makuta. With a new Mask, new tools and the element of Shadow, he loyally served Makuta Teridax during the Destiny war. I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. This is the first time I've done anything with hands particularly. They're obviously incomplete, with 2-3 fingers, depending on the hand. Its a significant improvement on previous hands of mine, and certainly looks better than a basic hand.

  4. IC: Tayis "Morning," he said, glancing towards the tunnel entrance. "Weather any better?" He was fairly certain that it wouldn't matter to Zieta, who would plough on regardless. Knowing Ko-Wahi, and his luck, there would probably still be a blizzard outside that they would have to endure.
  5. Its possible a lot of it came through Nuju. Either he remembered a significant amount (Possible, he's got a big brain and would've spent hours looking at these things as a matoran). Alternatively, he may have rescued some tablets from Metru Nui or something and had them copied out. However, the matoran did retain certain skills when they had their memories wiped, so its possible they worked these things out themselves, as they retained there knowledge to analyse the stars because it was built into them, much like Po-matoran retained their knowledge of sculpting.
  6. I meant the vehicle was neat looking, but it just doesn't look right for purpose again. It kind of looks like she's sitting on a little boat or something, just watching the world drift by. Since I made my first post though, I've realised this could be rectified pretty easily, if you make her stand up. Then it'll be like a surf/hover board type thing, and it would be perfect.
  7. It's a brilliant reinterpretation with just one minor fault in my eyes. The upper half of the beak is offset by a stud from the head, and it doesn't have the same flow as the original. Other than that, I love it. The skeletal look of the wings is brilliant, and the gears (both functional and not) are really reminiscent of the sets of the early years of Bionicle.
  8. That could apply to any year though. If they rebooted the series a year later than they had, and you weren't confused, somebody who got into the series a year later than you would be confused. When it came to rebooting, I think Lego were probably fully aware they'd have to alienate a few fans, but they were looking at the bigger picture.

Much as I would love to see you have it out with Zahkon here, and then get beaten down by a team of Airheads, I'll probably get pinned as being with you, and so would rather not end up also being beaten down by said Airheads."
  10. Just recently I've started listening to the music from MNOLG again, and rebuilt several of my old sets. I don't know how long they'll stay rebuilt, I cannibalize stuff so regularly for parts.
  11. IC: Ranama Hate filled Ranama as Zahkon joined the scene. He was now worried, as Tepi was suspiciously absent from the Vortixx's arms. Had the matoran not made it, and Zahkon just buried him out in the jungle? Or worse, thrown him in a lake? He felt safe in his current position though, so he thought he'd wait to see what story Kordan managed to dissect from what passed for Zahkon's brain.
  12. Your idea of an MMOG is good for Bionicle's return. I'm not sure I'd want to see sets return though, but its unlikely Lego would pool money into an MMOG for a cancelled line with a convoluted plotline. Outside of Bionicle, I've always felt Lego is very inflexible financially. I'm sure a lot of sets could be cheaper, and discounts are pretty thin on the ground on the official lego shop site. A few better special offers would be nice. I just want Lego to be something worth me putting money into again.
  13. I'm generally against the principal of bringing back characters, particularly if their death had a significant meaning to the storyline. In the context of changing the story so deaths hadn't occurred, Tren Krom, Krika and Mutran were all struck down, partly just for convenience. I'd have them survive somehow. I guess most of the Makuta had potential, but Krika and Mutran were particularly interesting.
  14. I don't know how the female minifigure sets will work out with all the extra bits with them. They seem too much to be like the current collectible minifig series, too little to be a set in their own right. I guess if they packaged them all together... As for LoL, I know nothing about it, except that its abbreviated as such because I've heard friends talking about it. The purple thing looks pretty cool though.
  15. This thing looks amazing. I'd love to get something from the architecture range, but I just don't have cash to throw around on Lego any more. Really impressive piece though.

  17. IC: Eidolon He gazed upon the matoran with a calculating look. The Le-matoran's body language was strange, and his eyes darted about occasionally. He had heard this 'Krahma' was not quite there, and this evidence supported that fact. If he really was crazy, perhaps the matoran would simply own up to attacking his fellow matoran. IC: Ranama "I thought you guys were heading for Ga-koro, looking for some old friends or something?" he asked. There were several beings present he didn't recognise, so presumably that was who they were. "How come you're here?"
  18. IC: Ranama There was no avoiding the group now, he had made eye contact with the leader, Kordan. He could make a run for it, but he didn't want to cause a scene in the middle of Le-koro. Security was tight these days, he had the advantage of being local, but the disadvantage of being not totally right in his head these days. He decided to talk to the group, and come to some sort of diplomatic solution that would allow him to go back to his training. Or whatever it was he planned to do with the rest of his life. He approached the group cautiously. "Hi," he said, his voice a little shaky.
  19. The small sets weren't brilliant for a start. There were some nice recolours, but only the helmets were new molds, except for Metus' shield and Atakus' swords. I think the switch to helmets was also a bit weird to be honest. They certainly didn't offer the same appeal as masks. Storywise we had a totally uninspiring villain, some serials I forget the events of, and the worlds cheesiest movie. 2009 left a lot to be desired, but I don't see how it would have caused a severe lapse in sales. I'd imagine it was more to do with a downward trend in sales, and the reboot didn't change the trend enough, so they cancelled it.
  20. I suppose that in order to be viable Toa set alternatives, the vehicles had to be fairly small. To me, some of these vehicles look a little small to look good. I'm not sure the reclined seating position some of them have works for battle vehicles. Kongu, Hewkii and Nuparu look ready for the action, the other three look more like they're just cruising about. A better vehicle basis would have been something like Vultraz's skyfighter or Lesovikks sea sled. The builds for the bodies are simple, but effective and posable. Now for some individual review points: Jallers vehicle looks a bit odd, I think down to the front wheels which for me are two small. I'll mention the reclined seating thing again, because the concept is there, and I think it would perhaps be better as a bike, or quad bike, or something with two wheels at the front and 3 at the back. Do the steering controls actually steer, or are they just aesthetic? I also like Jallers staff. I'm not sure where I stand on cutting parts, but as a bespoke tool piece this looks good. For Kongu's vehicle I again think the wheels are perhaps too small. Being a glider, I'm not sure it necessarily needs wheels though. If flight is possible, it might be better to give it fold in legs or something, like the Ussanui. Matoro's vehicle to me looks the most out of place as a combat vehicle, it looks like a wheelchair. Out of a battle situation, its very nice though, I like it. But it looks a little odd for purpose. Hewkii is one of the best here. The turret legs could perhaps attach in a smoother fashion, but it looks mechanical, and I like the addition of the Rahkshi armour on the sphere launcher. Nuparu's Boxor 2.0 looks good, but I think it would be better if he had the launcher in the shoulder area (much like the inika set now I think about it), and have two arms like the original boxor with the sea hook pieces. Hahli looks almost as odd as Matoro's vehicle, particularly in the battle context. However it looks the neatest, and smoothest. I applaud you for the effort of doing all these. Whenever I attempt a large scale project with multiple MOCs, even small ones, I always find my resources become limited very quickly, and the last few usually end up being mediocre. All of these are of a good standard, so well done on that.

  22. 2008 for me was brilliant. In terms of story I really liked where it was, and how it ended. In terms of sets, it made a brilliant departure from the play sets for Vehicles, which were brilliant, and it had Takanuva, the best titan set ever, totally unrivalled.
  23. I got my XBox 360 years back in the hope Battlefront 3 would eventually come out on it. If this is only available on the Xbox One, I will be seriously annoyed.
  24. IC: Ranama Having spent a significant amount of time sitting around feeling sorry for himself, Ranama decided the best thing he could do was get out and about again. He eyed his weights tentatively, but the idea of training no longer seemed important to him. His training hadn't saved Tepi. He had chosen not to act. If he chose not to use his training, did he need it at all? He left his hut without looking back, he didn't know where he was going, but he wasn't staying there. He was walking through Le-koro, not far from the hospital, when he spotted a group of beings he recognised. He had only spoken to the Skakdi Kordan as himself, the others had only ever met him as Krahma. He was pleased to see that Zahkon wasn't with them. He was right in the street ahead of them, in plain view. He would have to pray they didn' know what had happened last night, and maybe he could pass himself off as Krahma. 'Fat chance' Krahma said in his head. 'You're a lot of things, but you're not me. Except you are...heh.' Ignoring his own insanity, Ranama decided to walk on as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Perhaps the group wouldn't recognise him, there were a lot of Le-matoran around after all. He could be anyone.
  25. If we're theorising that the Bohrok didn't use elemental energy, but some special Bohrok energy, then it might not be to do with the level of power they were given, but the fact it was actual elemental energy which they weren't designed to take?
