I'm probably gonna do the opposite and dismantle them so I can try and start MOCing. Also storage purposes.

I went ahead and bought one! Not sure why, or what I'm gonna do with it, but it was only effectively 2 bucks.

This is in Prague, though not the US, so maybe things are different. It's also a museum so maybe they had a bunch of extra stuff?

So I was walking around my friendly neighbourhood Lego store, and guess what I found in a dark corner, hidden away. Kanoka disc packs. It was like a wave of nostalgia hit me, and I almost bought one but then I was like what's the point. I'll just tell people on BZP. It's funny how a 10+ year old collectible is still available in stores, and I can't find this year's Technic bike thing model... Edit: Here's a pic.

This was the first Hero Factory set.. heck, even the first Lego set I've bought in years, so I wasn't too picky. Everything I knew about the sets came from pictures online, and there the pieces looked big and clunky and made for an overall simpler look, but they're actually pretty versatile with a bunch of connection points and uses that I couldn't have even imagined so that was a pleasant surprise. I was looking for something to help me "transition" to the new Bionicle sets because the last set I got was Mata Nui and I think and a lot has changed since then. Now I just want a couple (or one) more (not necessarily Hero Factory) sets just to satisfy that building urge and to tide me over till next year because I probably won't be able to get my hands on the Bionicle sets for a month or more after they come out... But thanks for the advice! I'll keep an eye out for Furno Jet Machine, but I think I'll pass on the Flea Machine because recent experiences make me wary of anything bug related. Any recommendations on the villain sets? They seem way simpler to build, but I could be wrong again.

I bought Rocka Stealth Machine, mainly coz I couldn't find either the Motocross bike or Evo XL (there is still hope for those two though). It was a pretty fun and surprisingly complex build, or maybe I'm just too rusty when it comes to Lego now. It was also strangely cathartic, which is great coz I needed it. A lot. Needless to say I'm gonna be buying a couple more sets, and I can always pretend it's a birthday gift if I start feeling guilty about all the spending.

I wouldn't mind ONE song for nostalgia's sake, but really their style doesn't fit with the direction Bionicle is heading in now. Maybe in the future, when themes get a little more action-y or whatever. Same deal as Gen1, their songs would have been so out of place with the Toa Mata/Nuva (though now that I think about it they could have worked with the Toa Metru...)

Bugs! Of some kind have infested my roommate's and I's... room. And beds. I'll give you one guess as to what bugs they are and, if you guess right, I wouldn't know because we don't know what kind of bugs they are either. My money's on a carpet beetle, which is weird because there are no carpets in sight but I guess just because it's called a carpet beetle doesn't mean it's exclusive to carpets. I don't know. We're getting the room smoked out or whatever... the good thing about being in college is there's someone to do it for you. What sucks is we can't enter the room for a couple of days and we've been sleeping in the basement which probably has worse things going on than a few critters. In order to make you (and me) feel better about this, here is a video of dachshund puppies:

Probably the gold masks and some of the weapons, like Tahu's sword. Though to be honest I'm also excited for the chest armor because I don't have any CCBS pieces.

Lewa's mask, and also printed chestplates- I would have prefered plain pieces with stickers because at least then I have the choice of not using them/removing them...

I'm actually inclined to vote for this over my own entry, that's how good it is. Even stand alone, as a reinvention of Hapori Tohu it is pretty amazing. I like the use of the "new" gears to give him an updated look. And you've captured the animation style perfectly. Just out of curiosity, what program did you use?

Appearance-wise, probably the original Hau or Miru. Power-wise the Mahiki, but the Mohtrek has a pretty cool power too.

Maybe Axalara? Not too sure, though it could have been Mata Nui as well (the small one).

Depends what country you're in I would think... I know in my country you could find a few Bionicle sets years after they were originally released in the US. I don't know if that was the first time they were showing up on shelves or if no one bought them so they just stayed there... But I wouldn't at all be surprised if I found some 2010-era sets in stores. I haven't gone looking for them in years, but I might when I get back.

Haha I've since gotten used to Leewah I've always said Leewah. It sounds more natural (to me at least) than "Lay-wah" (assuming that's the way you say it ). But hey, it's a reboot so maybe things have changed lol Anyway I'm liking the new trailer. I prefer the Toa crashing into Okoto like meteors rather than landing up dismantled in canisters. And the Protectors basically are like the Turaga... I wonder if that means we'll be getting another McDonald's promotion for the "Matoran"?

I actually really liked the way TLR portrayed them, so that's how I'm going to imagine them from now on. Moving parts and bits, little bit of organic stuff here and there, rust/damage on the mechanical parts, that sort of stuff.

I voted six but then I realized that might be too much, so I actually would like three or four. Two warm and two cool colours is good for me. We definitely need some orange... and I could even go with pink or red, and I think yellow would be nice too though it may be too similar to the neon green.

I guess if they're putting up so much stuff now they're preparing for a Christmas release of the sets. At least that's what it seems like. And Okoto... I wish they had different names than "Region of Whatever" but it does work to simplify things a lot rather than having to remember a completely different name.

I really like the new Lewa set, but only from the neck down. His swords and weapons are pretty decent. If/when I buy him though he might permanently have a skull spider attached to his head, just so I don't have to stare at his mask. I think the yellow, green and silver combo works well, too, although I kind of wish the Protector's bow was either all green or green-yellow or green-transparent because the added blue doesn't gel with Lewa's colour scheme. But I'm just nitpicking.

... a Hero Factory set? I don't own a single one and I've been craving for something to build. I'm not with my Bionicle collection (it's at home) so I can't dismantle things and start building. Also I would like to have a few of the pieces too, just to see what they're like and maybe use them in a hypothetical MOC. So my question is, of the current line which one do you like best? I was leaning towards the Evo XL one because if it's the only one I buy, it's OK to splurge a little. Second option would be the Rocka Stealth Machine. If you guys already own them, let me know what you think of them. How big are they, how heavy, how fragile/stable (mainly coz they're gonna have to fit in a suitcase). Worst case, I'll just buy a couple of Mixels.
