  1. Oh my, I just saw Link monsters for the first time, and the new field and extra deck summoning rules. Yikes! The game has changed even more than I thought. Diving back into this is actually kinda exciting ^^

It has changed a lot, yes. I still try to find a way of using any of these new monster types effectively (specifically Pendulum+XYZ monsters...)... it's definitely changed a lot ^^

  2. Okay, after this I decided to treat myself and got some new cards anyway =P I got the Legendary Dragon Decks set, which comes with all those new types of monsters (and not a single piece of instructions). Time to nerd out and learn this game again I guess xD

check the yu-gi-oh website, they have the guide there. :) But yay, card games ^^

  3. Ooh, what'd you get?

I was looking at some of the newer cards, and I have absolutely no idea how to actually play this game anymore xD I stopped playing around the time Synchro monsters got introduced, and now there's Pendulum monsters, XYZ monsters, all sorts of weird fusion monsters that you don't actually fusion summon but instead need specific spell cards that I don't quite understand... I'm completely lost xD

Eh, just some random starter packs from amazon (I think it was XYZ Symphony and Space-Time Showdown) Which was also my first introduction to XYZ and Pendulum Monsters, and tbh I still need those quock guides that came with the packs when actually playing with these cards xD

There's also a larger guide online somewhere, but yeah, all those new monster types, that's a bit confusing ^^'

My brother a couple of his friends still play Yu-Gi-Oh, wins some small money at locsl tournaments; and on Friday there was someone behind my table at work that was practicing Yu-Gi-Oh. it's still living strong! (Not into it myself but that's doesn't mean the game is bad)

Heh, I don't think I'd ever enter a tournament  It's a fun game, tho. Silly at times, but great fun. :)

  4. Oh no way, I just started getting into my Yu-Gi-Oh nostalgia phase too. I guess Duel Links does that, huh? I even almost bought some new cards for the first time in like ten years, but then thought better of it =P

Best of luck with your application! I hope the stress eases before too long.

Yep, I do think it's the app's fault ^^ (I did buy some cards IRL... xD )

    Thanks! :)

  5. The Shadow Realm gets Wi-Fi?  Well that doesn't sound so bad...kind of ruins the tension of dueling, when you think about it.

    Apparently it does now xD

Are you in it for the PVP or just the completionism?  Every time it feels like I'm going to 100% it, they keep adding new duelists.

Mostly completionism and nostalgia, I guess ^^

  6. I will look at every iteration and tell you how A+ it is.

Great now you made me blush :c (thanks!)

I will look at every iteration and tell you how A+ it is.

    A+

    Thank you. :)

Nice! I love new iterations of old characters (in case you didn't notice the 1974194 drawings of the Toa Mata I made :P)

I think this should be MOC-able, apart from the mask.

Thanks! (of course I saw them! :) )

Heh, well, idk. MoCing was never my strong suit, sadly. (but why would anyone want to MoC this, anyway xD)

  7. I'm alright. I was supposed to have a summer class, but it was cancelled, so I'm kind of just... Not doing much. Atrophying mentally. I've got a summer job, but it doesn't exactly engage me much. But the summer's always been my least favorite season, so it's no big loss. It'll crawl on by before too long.

On that note, know any good books? I should really get back to reading like I used to. Now more than ever.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're doing well, and especially that we'll be hearing more from you in the near future. How's your thesis coming along? I can unfortunately only recall that it was something to do with aerosol physics. How do you gather data for that sort of thing?

    - :burnmad:

Hm, books... I'm currenty working my way through "Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Though Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and The Tenth Dimension" by Michio Kaku (albeit in a german tanslation), which is a popular science book on higher dimensions and things. And surprisingly easy to read IMO.

As for fiction, not sure, haven't read much in that direction lately. ^^"

It's going alright, I am a bit less eficient than I'd thought, but that seems to be normal since it's an experimental work...

You gather data with a measurement device =P Nah, -bad- jokes aside, the thing is that because aerosols can come up in many different sizes, ranging from very small to very large, you use different methods for each size. My work is mainly to combine the measurements of two such devices, where one works with optical methods (essentially a time-of-flight measurement), and the other with electrostatic methods, which leads to different particle sizes you cannot directly combine. Though atm I'm still at the point where I check if the instruments are actually compatible in the overlap region. :3

    A tragedy?

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Taka Nuvia the wise?  I thought not. It's not a story the forum users would tell you. It's a blog legend.

Taka Nuvia was a member of BZPower, so powerful and so wise she could use the blogs to talk about life. She had such a knowledge of the blogs that she could even keep the ones she cared about up to date on her life.

The blogs are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. She became so powerful, the only thing she was afraid of was forgetting to update her blog, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she posted a blog entry with the word "tragedy" in it which summoned SPIRIT, then he commented on the blog with a tired meme.

Ironic.  She could save others from blogs, but not herself.

    Yo. Nice. =D

It's always nice to see you around ^^

You seem to be putting in a ton of effort into the uni stuff, so I hope that it's at least going well, and that you're not overworking yourself too hard. Enjoy some rest during the holidays ^^

Thanks! =D Yeah, this semester has definitely been more straining (exhausting? was going to say stressful but that's not entirely true...) than the previous ones. For some reason, however, I am not yet as tired/done as normally at this point. ^^" I'll try to get some rest during the holidays, though.

I'd honestly love to hear more about your studies, since until like, sophomore year of undergrad, I was convinced I needed to go all-out in physics (and ended up doing French lit). So it's cool to see someone else doing it~

Maybe I can find a format to write about it more regularly, then. :)

That's cool, didn't know! What's French lit like?

  8. Didn't hurt yourself too badly, I hope?

    Good luck with that thesis!

    Thankfully not :D

    Thanks! I'll definitely need it...

    WHAT A LOVELY DAY

(Good luck on your master thesis! Roughly what are you basing it on, if you don't mind my asking?)

    - :burnmad:

    YES

(Thanks! ^^ It will be in the field of aerosol physics, dealing with how to combine two particle size distributions from different measurement instruments. Interesting stuff, IMO.)

  9. This is the exact reason I look upon the Dataclysm of many years ago as a boon. =P

    - :burnmad:

Agreed. At least the stuff I wrote at 13/14 is gone for good...

oh man looking at old stuff on bzp

i kinda wish the dataclysm didn't happen, but at the same time i'm glad it did. also kinda wish majhost didn't die, but...it took my old comics with them. i'm glad they're gone.

    Scaaaaary D:

Majhost was a great loss for me; but at least I still haveall the old drawings, so nothing's really lost...

A while back I accidentally came across some of my old sprite comics and decided to read them. I still have the nightmares.

I know that feeling. :> sometimes I wonder why I haven't yet removed my old comics from brickshelf, but then again, they're hilarious in their inconsistency, so they might stay for yet another while. ^_^

My old comics still exist. But we don't talk about those.

    okay. :)
