  1. I have not heard of this... overt one singing... how does work?

dark magic, apparently. 1/10 would not practise on lawn again. :D

(on a serious note...good question. Apparently you're filtering out overtones that are naturally present in the voice. o.o Sounds interesting.)

It's super amounts of fun. Especially throat singing.

Throat singing is still a mystery to me (as in, how it is done). It really sounds cool, though.

    Mongollian throat-singing is awesome.

    Agreed.

  2. Ah, with DW I am still at the old series (although, 5th doctor by now. Slowly, but steadily.), so the new Who is definitely also on the list, I just hope it won't be too disappointing. :/

Already saw Firefly, and it was definitely an ineresting show. Although I kinda agree on the overhyped part. Though I guess I actually liked Defiance better than Firefly, because the characters clicked more with me...

  3. Keep a low profile while gently nudging family members and loved ones out of harm's way. (but make sure nobody notices - can you imagine the demands if anybody found out? Not necessarily from family members, but from all the "friends" that would suddenly appear...) maybe open up to someone at some point about it, but only if I trust them 1000%.

Otherwise I'd try not to rely on it too much. And losing it again would be a relief, removing the constant judging whether the situation needs help or not. :/

  4. No, it's not the hair length that's needlessly complicated. Not being mainstream is the problem, it seems. Sheesh. <_<

    no

If it is too much of a hassle, have you considered trimming it back a bit?

the hair itself is not the problem. only that the length is apparently more uncommon than I'd thought. :)

What I always did was put it in the modified lawnmower on low, low speed, let it spin for a bit, and voila

In other news, I'm now bald

don't forget to wear a nice hat in summer! ;>

:kaukau: Woah, I saw the title and was going to leave a comment about having long hair.  And then that was what the blog entry was about.  Cool beans.

You could always try a hairstyle from Star Wars.  Rey's hairstyle wouldn't work for you, but I'd give Padme's a try. With the length that your hair is, you might even be able to pull it off without extensions.

Hm. Star Wars-inspired hairdos do sound like an interesting idea.

  5. :kaukau: I'm glad you like the way you look.  Some of us aren't quite as at peace with ourselves ;).

I... am not entirely sure how to respond to this. Being at peace with the way I look is something I've been struggling with for a long time. But then again, it's the body and face I am inhabiting, so I'd better be okay with that. I guess. :)

I've got almost the opposite reaction. I would be working on some sort of photo manipulation or some kind of digital painting and I would need a reference which I otherwise can't find online. Then I'd have to find the thing in real life and I just think to myself, "Ugh, well it's for a reference. As soon as I've taken the picture I'm done." I end up having to convince myself to just get the reference done because I normally don't like taking pictures.

    ~Soran

    Yep, makes sense.

When I take pictures of myself-

    Oh wait, I don't

I just take pictures of MOCs

    ;~;

MoCs can be a good reference as well, especially for things like perspective and stuff. ^^

(not always as much for proportions, but that really depends on the MoC)

Well now, in the distant future, when people talk about your life as a thing of that past, your reference pictures will always exist as a perfect response to "pics or it never happened"

    So that's a plus

    - :burnmad:

"That one day in 2016, I was sitting on the sofa in the living room. But believe me, my eyeliner was so sharp I would use it to cut tomatoes in half!"

    "Pics or it never happened!"

    :D

I have done this before. It is just as ridiculous as it sounds.

    Finally someone who understands

  6. I know this feel to well...

it's one of the most annoying things about being into art, I think. :<

    Love this sketchy-style.

    Thanks!

The paper grain really makes this look a traditional drawing. I think it turned out well too :)

Thank you! That's something that annoys me a bit, though - I seem to feel themost comfortable with digital art if it emulates traditional media. But then I might just as well grab some paper and a pencil instead... :/

  7. There dost be a mage who can turn himself into a spider using black magicke?  Verily, I must gaze upon this with mine own eyes.  Fetcheth me images of this Spider-Man!

The updated blog post might interest you, then :>

Must have worn a cursed necklace. They'd better search the forest for a unicorn or something.

For this obscure reference you score ten (10) awesome points.

(in all seriousness, I had to think of that, too. xD)

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for a picture of a giant spider.

    akanohi.png

Thankfully there are no real giant spiders where I live. I already dislike normal-sized ones (aka, a few centimetres in each direction.) :)

  8. I never did get around to buying Morrowind. Oblivion's fun, though, and I'd highly recommend it when you finish this one.

And, of course, Fallout: New Vegas. 1.0

    - :burnmad:

I tried it once, but was so confused by the controls that I almost didn't get off the horse in time. D: might give it another go at a later time, though.

But Fallout:New Vegas - isn't 18 recommended age for that? I'm afraid that would not work for me, as I am a rather (read: very) sensitive person, especially with any visual inputs/graphic stuff. :<

i tried out Morrowind, and it was weird to play. Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game and there are just a lot of basic stuff changed from one game to the other that made it hard for me to get into it. As many problems Skyrim has, the one things I miss from it when going back to Morrowind or Oblivion is the smiting. I love that stuff.

And, of course, Fallout: New Vegas. 1.0

Love New Vegas. For me, it's the real Fallout 3 as it actually has ties to the original two games.

Another anecdote from my Oblivion test run was that I spent a solid five minutes marvelling at the surroundings in awe, because, you know, mist and stuff. :>

Wood elves are good elves. :P

oh? For me, all elves are good elves. Unless they're scary, I guess. ^^

Wood elves are good elves. :P

Until they tried to smother your religion with their holier than thou attitude!

(Guess which side I picked in the Skyrim Civil War this time 'round...)

I really need to catch up on the lore, I guess. But there are so many books to read in that game, anyway...

    Morrowind <3

I love Morrowind but without mods it looks very old. I could make a little list of mods for you if you like, they are very easy to install ^^

I made some small mods myself.

I like how Morrowind seems to be halfway between a PC game and a tabletop RPG.

The story is really the best part of the game, but before getting there you have to become stronger and this takes a lot of time (unless you cheat...).

Thanks for the offer, and I really appreciate it - but I'm playing on the original Xbox, and I don't think it's possible to install mods there? (at least AFAIK)

Ah yes, I noticed that. As for the story, I wonder whether I'll ever get to that - after all, I am a master of getting side-tracked. ^^

  9. You kidding? I'd probably be drawn to you and share doodles and join you in face-making. Weirdos, UNITE!

Also, air conditioning is a near-requirement here in Arizona. Better to have it than not have it, so you saying that sounds weird to me.

    [...]

I'm not a weirdo, though - I am perfectly normal, it is the world that's the weird one! :)

Ah, I guess it does have its merits/make sense in warmer climates. Not where I live, tho. ^^

    Infidel!

Air con is love. Air con is life.

    Air con is evil!

Y'all people be weird.  Except Taka.  She's cool.

... to pun, or not to pun? Can't tell. :3

(also, it's either that, or: "someone called me cool!" *hurries off to mark the day in the calendar*)

  10. CONSPIRACY!

    Hide your secrets!

I like the emblem on the robe! What's the story behind the title? :D

    (Also, cool hands o.o)

Thanks! :D Nothing much but the fact that he looks like he's uncovered some large conspiracy. ^^"

(they look cool? That's great, even though surprising.)

You really shouldn't beat yourself up over this. It looks awesome! :)

    Thank you. :3

Wow, the head to shoulder ratio is really off. The cape looks fine, though.

Aw? Where? It looks fine to me. o.o

  11. When you say netbook, are you sure you really mean netbook and not notebook?

I am fairly sure it qualifies as netbook...? (it's an asus eeepc 1000he. no idea. I got it ~7 years ago.)

I was trying to find a picture of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes saying, "KABLOOIE!", but alas, my search was for naught.

    Instead, enjoy this:

    8e354c726ef17be5146dbb80a0193f5b.jpg

    thank you.

SHE CAME IN LIKE A TAKA BALL

    something something something TAKA BALL

AND something something something PIDGEON FALLS!
