  1. In the 2001 comic Triumph Of The Toa, Tahu was attacked by a pair of Nui-Rama, who picked him up, flew him high and dropped him. Without the Mask of Levitation, Tahu had to resort to heating the air below him to break his fall and allow Onua to catch him. I was thinking, couldn't Tahu have possibly used his Hau to break his fall and save him from injury? If so, what may have happened?
  2. Primarily the baterra and the Sisters of the Skrall. Also any Toa, Matoran, Dark Hunter or Makuta that hasn't been released, Artakha, the MU Robot, Johmak, Jerbraz and that 4-armed OoMN member.

  5. What if you live in Australia and there are no Lego conventions at all in your area?
  6. They stopped servicing or Bionicle in 2010, and now they're wiping ALL evidence of its existence from their website.
  7. I only used a weather team because I had to make a new team quickly. My last team was very original, but not consistently successful. You'd actually be surprised how few weather teams there were at the tournament!
  8. Yesterday, I finally got the chance to attend a Pokémon Video Game National Championships, something I've been dreaming of ever since the series started in 2009! The event was held in Victoria, Australia, at the Melbourne Showgrounds. I had been working until late the night before to get my team ready. However, one of my Pokémon was below level 50, and when I arrived at the tournament, I discovered that all Pokémon below level 50 would NOT get scaled up like every other Pokémon! So I ended up spending a frantic half-hour levelling it up before I could register! At last, I entered: just another one out of a total of 180 entrants, the equal biggest tournament I've entered! My first round was displayed on the big screen, which was an honour. Using the same rain wind team I've been using for a while (albeit modified and improved), I was able to take out my opponent 4-0. My opponent ended up making quite a few rookie mistakes, such as using Will-o-Wisp to burn my Politoed when my physical-attacking Toxicroak was also in play, and then using Hydro Pump on Toxicroak, healing it because of Dry Skin! My second round match went almost as well --- another 4-0 victory. I forget most details of that match, but I do remember my opponent at one point tried a Waterfall attack, which was absorbed by my Gastrodon's Storm Drain, adding to the power it was already receiving from Politoed's Surf. After my unbeaten run thus far, I was proud of at least getting past round 2, a round I have a bad habit of losing. But I tried not to get cocky: last time I went to round 3 without loss, I lost my 3rd round match. My third round match came before too long. Again I forgot most of what happened, but I do remember I finally lost one of my Pokémon (I can't even remember which it was). In the end it was a convincing 3-0 win. In round 4, I was once again on the big screen. I faced what looked to be a hail room team. Deciding on my team proved difficult: I ended up changing my team at the last second. I led with Politoed and Toxicroak, while my opponent led with Abomasnow and Eelektross. During the first turn, Toxicroak Faked Out Abomasnow, while Eelektross used a surprisingly underpowered Discharge, which, even with a critical hit (softened by a Wacan Berry though), did less than 50% damage. Surf in turn did less, leading me to believe it was bulky. Next turn, Toxicroak KO'd Abomasnow with Drain Punch, and was then KO'd by Eelektross' Acrobatics. Next turn, I sent out Scizor, and the opponent sent out Amoongus. Panicking (I hate fighting Amoongus), I took the risk of double-attacking it. Scizor was able to OHKO it with Acrobatics, and Politoed's Ice Beam finished off Eelektross, leaving me on the right side of a 3-1 advantage. With a little difficulty and the loss of my Politoed I ended up winning once again. By now I was VERY proud of how I was going! Immediately after the match, I was called aside for an interview by representatives from Nintendo Australia! I agreed, but was very nervous, having never been interviewed before. I explained my mindset going into the tournament, and how I had been going, as well as what I knew about how others battle. The interview should be on Nintendo Australia's website within a week, hopefully. At last, the top 8 round began. I decided not to use Politoed in this match… a decision I regretted. Without Politoed's rain (or that of my opponent, who also had Politoed but didn't use it), my Tornadus' Hurricane never hit the opposing Breloom when I wanted it to, and paralysis from Liepard's Thunder Wave only made things worse. In the end I was defeated 2-0. The guy who beat me went on to become one of our two representatives at the World Championships in Vancouver! Despite my defeat, and my falling agonisingly short of battling for a spot in Worlds (I'm still haunted by the thought of what would've happened had I used Politoed in that match), I still had a great day, and learned a lot about my team (like how much it depends on Politoed to work). Hopefully I'll be inspired enough to take my knowledge and skills into the next generation next year! Best of luck and fortune to our representatives in Vancouver this August!
  9. I think not. I know other forums that allow all members to make polls and there are no complaints there.
  10. Bionicle. Out of those that haven't been banned, Castle was always my next fave, and I like Minifigs somewhat too.
  11. That's right! Australia is officially a part of the Pokémon Video Game World Championships! :D :D This weekend and next weekend, we will be holding State championships, where we will be competing for entry into our very own Pokémon Video Game National Championships, held in PAX Australia, right here in Melbourne! Ever since Worlds started in 2009, I have been campaigning long and hard for Australia to get a fair go in Worlds, and a long last my labours, and those of many other like-minded fans, have paid off! Needless to say, I WILL be participating in States. At my skill level the odds are slim that I'll make Nationals, but I will nonetheless enjoy the atmosphere, and the fact that I have achieved a lifelong goal! One life goal down, three to go!
  12. Apparently the point of the Exo-Toa in the Bohrok's nest were put there to protect against a premature unleashing of the swarms, or so I heard.
  13. I tried submitting Sand Tarakava to CUUSOO, but the pics I used (which I assume are the same pics avak5 is on about) were too poor quality. idk where else to find pics though, even after I asked here myself.
  14. What were you expecting? A memorial? I don't see the use of having it, now that the line's key site, bionicle.com, has gone. It's like losing a body's top half but still having its legs. What long-term point is there in keeping it/them? 1: I was expecting at least a little respect for the line that saved them, not them pretending it never existed. 2: Preservation and futureproofing, just in case Greg finds the time to finish another chapter, and/or the site is needed again when Bionicle comes back. It happened to Tuyet She died, dude.
  15. I heard somewhere that Nintendo makes Pikmin just for fun, not for profit, and wouldn't care if it makes a loss on the series. Can anyone here confirm if that's true?
  16. So basically, there is NOTHING Bionicle left on the Lego website. Just a few stickers and some REFERENCES in the Classics section of their Messageboards, and even then I'd be surprised if they remained. THIS is how they treat a franchise that saved them from bankrupcy. Pathetic. As for BIONICLEStory, there is a chance it can be saved. Will it be possible to purchase the domain after Lego is done with it?
  17. Me too! I actually saw this on another art site, and immediately submitted it to a Bionicle-based group I run there!
  18. The world wants childhoods to be full of happy-smiles and rainbows, and they also think that the tiniest bit of anger will corrupt a child's life forever. I call this the "Nanny Plague". When I was little, I played violent computer games, especially with guns, quite frequently. Did I become a violent criminal like the world expects? No. The world needs to stop being so paranoid and let kids enjoy childhood without having their lives dictated the way they are.
  19. In the olden days, the primary focus of Bionicle was Masks of Power. They were what Bionicle was known for; its trademark. In 2009's reboot, the only Mask of Power that was featured was the Mask of Life. Other than that, Bionicle's trademark was gone. I believe the lack of masks in the reboot may have been one reason why it "failed".
  20. When I saw this thread, the first thing I thought was that it was charity. Every so often, I see news of charities playing Pokémon video games and trying to "catch 'em all" in a small space of time to raise money. Since this is a similar kind of challenge, IMO it would be a great charity challenge.
  21. Some Kanohi packs I got here in Australia had two Nobles and no Greats instead of one of each. I also found that Raus and Rurus were rather common, especially in light blue and lime.
  22. I sent a complaint to Lego (how unexpected), and got a reply already! Apparently the reason they're going is because of limited disk space on Lego's servers, which is going to newer themes such as TMNT.
  23. This story is not true. Lego would not be so stupid.
  24. I didn't even know we were allowed to advertise our CUUSOO projects in threads at all! o.O
