  1. For 2001 it was a bit of a tough choice because, while I don't have any of them, I've always felt that they all look really good. Not having any of them, I can't say I can relate to the complaints on Pohatu or Lewa, so I couldn't really factor that into my choice. Ultimately I went with Onua, simply because his color scheme is a bit drab and his weapons a bit boring? 2002 is a tough choice for exactly the opposite reason. I just...I do not like the Nuva. Except I guess for Lewa, maaaaaybe Tahu? I only have one of them, Gali, and she...she is pretty bad! I also voted for Onua here, though, and I...I guess I just really don't like his mask? It could have easily been Pohatu or Gali though. So bad! For 2008 I went with Pohatu. I don't really mind any of the Mistika too much (backwards piraka torsos aside, those will never not be the worst things ever. but i did like their masks). And Lewa was pretty cool. Kopaka I was less fond of, and honestly in retrospect I really don't like him much! But I dunno, Pohatu...I like his arms, actually. He's got a decent design that I think does kind of fit him, but just...I don't know, he's just so gray. I wish he had used like, dark orange instead of bright orange? And his mask could have been better. I dunno.
  2. This always sounded like a pretty cool idea, and it does look pretty awesome. I dunno, though, I imagine it could have gone poorly easily. These things break all the dang time from my experience. Plus, if they were designed for a specific wave, unless the designers stuck to the same packaging for the entire line*, they would have become obsolete really quickly. And like...lines? Would've still been cool, but..yeah. Cool concept, but can't imagine that it would have worked out well in real life. Suppose that's why they didn't actually go through with it, though! *this of course presuming that slizers would have turned out successful over an extended period of time
  3. Well, Ekimu also has a uniquely-colored launcher on the end of his hammer, but otherwise, you're correct. Well, it won't be available until the same wave as him, but Skull Warrior also has the trans light blue launcher (with dark stone gray(?) inner piece) so it's not completely unique or exclusive to him.
  4. Yeah, as soon as I heard this was a possibility (And now knowing it is a reality) I was all EXO-FORCE PLEASE. Really hope we see some Exo-Force represented, though I guess translating any mechs to the micro scale would be tough! Still, so very much want Exo-Force in the game.
  5. Just thought I'd let you know that the parts to the shield are technically all already available. The main two components are a Trans. Light Blue saw blade which appears in the Protector of Ice as well as the Legends of Chima constraction set CHI Vardy from last year, and a Warm Gold wheel element that appeared last year in the Disney Princess set Cinderella's Dream Carriage and the Ninjago set Battle for Ninjago City. Of course, all three masks in the set are brand new. Isn't Ekimu's saw blade silver metallic? I'm pretty sure it's silver metallic. Which is even more common!
  6. Congratulations to the winners! There were a lot of great entries, and while sadly some of them ended up getting cut during the early polls, some of the best made it to the final poll. The winning entries really deserved it.
  7. Yeah I am excited about this. I am also excited about the Chaos;Child anime because I am one of about 5 people in the world who liked C;H. But man, Steins;Gate is in a league of its own. Definitely looking forward to it. edit: whoa there hold the phone apparently they announced yet another science adventure about a week ago called Anonymous;Code?? Oh man so much science adventure stuff is happening I am pretty hyped.
  8. Yeah, I think this definitely is material for the SU topic rather than its own thing. That being said, it really was pretty great! Lots of fun Pearl moments.
  9. I vote Sand Surfing (A) and Energized Protodermis (B)
  10. The crossover was great. It was very funny ("That's not my baby!" "My head's on backwards" "YYYYYYYYYY") and really quite exceeded expectations. And the best thing about it is that it is non canon, honestly--as it excuses the exaggerated characterization and avoids opening up so many cans of worms. That, or the Mr. Gus tumblr, because holy heck. Elaborate set-up for a joke doesn't even begin to do it justice. (Seems like something that should be discussed in the SU topic instead, but...honestly, I think it'd be cool if this topic turned into a general catch-all discussion topic for cartoons, since specific threads tend to die pretty much instantly.)

    New Spinny

The head being included is pretty bad, true. And the gold doesn't look very gold. Still better than Norik, though.
  12. Finally started watching again after a couple of weeks of not doing that! I'm making slow progress but at least it is progress. I watched the Free! OVA. It was pretty boring! I did not enjoy it much. I also watched the Dramatical Murder OVA. Whereas the series was a very SFW and dreadfully non-gay trek through all the good endings of the VN, the ova was a dreadfully NSFW, although very very gay, trek through all the bad ends. (and whoever wrote the bad ends for DMMD was pretty freaking messed up! It was like some School Days ####, except, times five! So much blood, guys.) It was....scarring. Jeez man. Wow. Ouch. Ouch. It was pretty dang weird. Caught up/finished Parasyte. I really enjoyed it, as I did the rest of the series. The "real" end of the plot and conflict of the series in episode 23 was done pretty well, and the more epilogue-ish last episode was also done well. Tying up loose ends, and narrowly avoiding a tragic end to a series that already had more than enough of that...it was good! Really great series all around. Caught up with World Trigger. The big fight is finally starting...totally expecting to see them milk this battle for the remainder of the series! Finished Yurikuma Arashi. There's no denying that this series started off... a bit bizarre? But eventually all the pieces started falling into place and it was pretty good. I really liked the last couple of episodes. I even called some of the more implausible twists. (Really, she was Kumaria??? I was just joking, YKA, come on!) All around a good series. Aaand I just finished watching Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-Bu LOVE! (I call it BiKouChiBouBuLO for short) I don't know if it's because I was desperately looking so hard for a decent parody of the genre after the revolting terribleness of Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu, or if it really is just that great, but Bikouchiboubulo was just really fantastic. It was smart, it was funny, it was ridiculous and it was really really gay. The final episode is probably my favorite ending of the season so far, and one of my favorite endings in general. (Sorry, Parasyte, your psychological and high-octane emotions cannot match stupid magical boys, it is simply impossible)
  13. Yeah I would kill for some more Skull Spiders. I mean dark red and lavender would be cool colors to get, since we have seen red and purple spiders in the comics, so that'd be cool. But we don't have to stop there! Black ones! Trans bright green! A black/trans fluorescent red-orange blend! Tell me that wouldn't be the coolest thing. (I think it would be!). Some sort of Skull Spider & Mask packs would be pretty cool.
  14. Skull Scorpio is the best. It's like the Nui-Jaga, not to mention it has a Mask of Stone. I really don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with articulation, posing six different legs sounds extremely tedious, especially for a child (which is where the new series will get its fans" and having a tail with a grabbing feature sounds so much more extravagant than legs you have to move yourself. The new Toa are already hard to play with due to how many joints they have, which make their weapons clonky and hard to wield. moving their arms by themselves without the gear function causes the shoulder pads to come out of place, which ruins immersion. Skull Scorpio is pretty meh. And I like him! It's not even the lack of articulation that is a problem as much as it is the awful color scheme, awful awful terrible no-good hands, weird clunky hugeness of the tail, lack of a unique mask of his own, and really, those colors are not good. On the other hand, the function is super fun, which makes up for a lot of it.
  15. I used to watch KND a lot like ten years ago. It was fun, I'd probably watch a reboot. We're also getting the Powerpuff Girls reboot next year I think? PPG is one of my all time favorite cartoons so I hope they do it justice...the special last year wasn't that good.

    What if...

They kind of did this in an episode of Regular Show. Russia tried to steal parts of the US and send them hurtling towards their nuclear warheads. (they weren't allowed to shoot them at the US, so they instead shot the US to the bombs!)
  17. We don't really know the genders of any of the Protectors, except for PoF, probably. We have no real reason to take the "father to son" thing too literally. I tend to imagine PoW as female.
  18. Jungle>Earth>Ice>Stone>>Fire>>Water Jungle is the best, Water is by far the worst.
  19. isnt that the plot of The Sixth Sense though drats, i thought i had come up with an original shocking and non cliche ending of my own. this is hard!
  20. or maybe....the protags were already dead all along...?
  21. Well, it's almost certain that we'll see the Toa take new forms, but I really doubt we'll see Nuva versions specifically. Not only would it run a bit contrary to the trend towards less made-up terms, the defining features of the Nuva compared to the original Toa--metallic armor and weapons with other applications--are already present on our Toa. The only thing they don't have that the Nuva did is those hideous masks, and I think it's better that it stay that way? (Even if they get new masks I think they'll probably stick closer to their original designs than the Nuva masks did) So even if the Toa do get upgrades of some sort it wouldn't make much sense to classify them as "Nuva," since they wouldn't really share much with the original Nuva.
  22. 1. Not really a theory, more like calling out the obvious. 2. We are AFoLs, not Bronies. While both groups are adult fans of a children's brand, one is slightly less creepy, and much more reasonable. FINALLY somebody else thinks there's something very wrong about grown men going nuts over pink cartoon ponies. Yes. Yes finally, you can all be together in...being unfairly judgmental of others for their interests? C...congratulations..?? Wait, no, not congratulations. That's awful. You guys are on a website dedicated to bright plastic toys, in the eyes of many, we are no less creepy! Even if certain parts of that fanbase is questionable at best, the attitude shown here by some is needlessly condescending (and vaguely lacking in self-awareness!). Knock it off.
  23. *whistles sheepishly, kicks his sixty-five shinies out of sight* (only about 40 of them are actually mine though? the rest i just stole from gts. i have not gotten any shinies from wonder trade, although i got a mewtwo once. for a magikarp! it was neat)
  24. Unless I missed it, your post lost in such a riveting argument I could barely contain my excitement. Just an FYI, if you are comfortable ordering online you can order the Hero Pack through LegoShop@Home so you may be in luck. Im pretty sure the deal ends in April so I can only hope this post reaches you in time. Unfortunately the promotion only lasted until March 20th, so it's been done for a bit now. :/
