  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3d5xLygQ2I So...I have an album coming out on the 31st of august...you guys should totally get a copy off of iTunes and whatnot...or just listen on spotify, that's totally cool too. So...Story that only BZP will understand...On the physical version, I have an interior booklet with a pixel art design, with a "wall" of pictures of things that have been important to me. So, I contacted lego about including a Kanohi Hau on said wall, and what legal hoops I'd need to jump through. Despite it being the most helpful and kindest response I have ever gotten from any customer service ever, the answer was an understandable "no". So, I renamed one of the (at the time) unnamed songs to be "941 Ways", and called it good XD
  2. Realistically? I'd probably be grudgeingly doing whatever Tuyet commands...One of my less stellar qualities is that I don't rock the boat much XD If we're talking about self-insertion into a story, though, I'd write myself/write from the perspective of a steadfast loyal Tuyet supporter...getting 1984 vibes off of that kind of story idea.
  3. I feel old because I'm basically saying "back in my day"...but back during G1, leaks were treated like toxic substances. Now, they're front page news. G2 is already leaking like a sieve, and an army of tech-savvy fans isn't helping. what changed?
  4. Do sets that were scrapped because of storyline changes count? because Ahkmou, toa of shadow...wow. Also: a fun idea in 2003 might have been a matoran parts pack...Include a random torso color, and a random kanohi with a corrosponding color. would have tied in nicely to mnog 2. Perhaps also a standalone Vezon set...after the seperation of the ignika, i think he would have been noticibly different enough...and, as we all know, his story role became signifcant enough...to justify such a set.
  5. Prefacing this with "I'm not too knowledgable about anatomy at all"...But I know that, in the same way that people are left or right handed, people have a dominant eye...Perhaps kopaka is just ambidextrous...?
  6. For, like, the last several months (and I have NO idea why), I've had ideas hurtling around my head about what G1 as a tv show could look like...one of the strongest ideas is what the main titles would look like (ish). So, I woke up today, taught myself source film maker, and made this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn4LjpQyLnU Obviously, this is just conceptual...and things are wrong (Nuva and mata all at once, though if you can tell where I got the models you know why)...and imagine that there is actor's names in front of their respective toa... I actually have no intention of actually using this for anything, I just thought it would be fun to see what it looked like...and, since I made it and saw what It looked like, I saw no reason not to just throw it out there. Aaaaaaand, since it's conceptual and very clearly very low production value, I didn't think it warrented a topic...so, blog poooooost. Thoughts?
  7. would that mean that the split point of "The Kingdom" alternate universe was not in fact matoro's failed saving of Mata Nui, but in fact "Velika" choosing someone else? this is actually interesting...
  8. Congrats, upon your random search through old bionicle parts, you found that you happened to own one of the most rare and saught-after parts of bionicle history. In the name of all that is good, do yourself a favor and do not sell it. Put it on prominant display, this is an awesome thing to own.
  9. in all seriousness, "farshety" would be a fun name, and i'd go along with it also: ...this works pretty well...the Kanohi Kraahkan is so ascociated with shadow that perhaps he adopted the name of "the shadowed one" in response (kraahkan? krakalin? similar pronounciations)
  10. I disagree...you could probably have a lot of fun with these...have someone "break a rule" as a skit as an example of what NOT to do (Metus is writing his signiture, as well as an enthusiastic endorsement of Tuma's skrall army conquring Bara Magna. Metus is doing it wrong.") also: maybe a video demonstrating what topics go into what forums.
  11. ...I may have not been too clear...my mistake, i wrote this pretty late last night XD I did not mean enforcing a segregation between older fans and younger fans...I meant creating a subforum (or some other solution, I'm not an expert) where topics in bionicle that may not be suitable to younger fans can be discussed. There are always gonna be the topics where either older fans or younger fans ignore each other...But for some of bionicle's more mature topics (like i mentioned, religious themes surrounding Matoro and Vakama, gender issues within the story, etc), we havent yet been allowed to discuss them for the reason that they are not suitable to Bionicle's younger fans. What i was proposing was that an age-locked subforum could exist where those topics, and only those topics, coul be discussed.
  12. So...In my return to BZP over the last 9-ish months, i've noticed things...thought of things...and i don't think those things belong in any one place on BZP discussion-wise, so i thought I'd vomit it here. So...technologywise...BZP is and has been an incredibly well maintained site. I'm not bashing it. But...Am i wrong, or has not much changed tech-wise since bionicle first went down...? I was really supprised when i returned and found things so...the same...despite 5 years of technological progress. Now, don't get me wrong...it works. it serves it's purpose well. And i get it...it's expensive to upgrade software and hardware on a forum. But...i've seen other forums. there are little things i've seen techwise that are just...better...on those sites. We all love the site...some of us, if not most of us, have been here since G1...that's an extreme dedication to a site that's very rare. I know premier membership exists...but, to help the expensive upgrades that are available now, how many of us would be willing to at least give something? surely there's enough of us that'd be willing to do so to at least allow BZP some minor upgrades...perhaps a raffle, but with more expensive tickets and a WMKK as a prize... Brain vomit #2...with those upgrades, one other change should come...I remember back during G1's time...and this made sense, by the way...content on bzp was compressed to a strict G rating, essentially...then, 2011 came, and I left for 4 years...when I came back, I can best describe it as "that's not 100% true anymore". Not that that's a bad thing either...and it makes sense. the original g1 fans are now, for the most part and at the very minimum, in highschool. Some are even graduated out of college. We're older...more mature...and perhaps we need to acknowledge that. What i mean: there's a lot of themes and topics within Bionicle that we've been prevented from discussing (for reasons that make sense since the site needed to be safe for children). But now that some of us are much older, I think that such a discussion should be allowed...referencing the S&T rules topic as an example... other possibilities: Gender issues now evident in gen1, religious themes surrounding Matoro...I think you get the idea. Keep in mind: I'm not saying "Free for all"...There's a difference between "mature discussion" and "Immature discussion"...only stuff DIRECTLY RELEVENT TO BIONICLE would be allowed. So...in order for this to be possible, younger fans can't be involved...i think this should be easy, if we upgrade the hardware and software. We'd just have to create a subforum for this discussion, but lock it off to not-logged-in guests, and members under 13 (or some other age, i don't know what's ideal legally or ethically). Obviously, such topics are open to rampant flaming...So, if a member gets particularly problematic, they would be added to a custom list of people "blocked" from the forum, either permanently or temporarily. This could allow other changes as well...Perhaps the word filter, in some cases, would only be shown as filtered to guests and people under a certain age, or those who "opt in". So...word vomit...obviously everything i said has clear downsides, and a very evident other side of the argument exists (hence why i left the whole rule quote above as opposed to only the highlighted section)..just wanted to throw these things out there. thoughts?
  13. 2) No. They are designed to not be able to do that. Nor have we ever seen one drain energy from a Rahi. The fish they ate on Mata Nui were Aqua Magna fish, not MU fish. I know this is old, but I must point out that it's incorrect. The fish the Matoran were seen selling in Onu-Koro were most definitely biomechanical. "The fish they ate on Mata Nui" Correct me if i'm wrong...but didn't greg once say that matoran don't eat...? ...did we just discover that matoran were built with a reduntant digestive tract or something along those lines...?
  14. I think a walgreens near where I live sold piraka, cardboard display and everything, well into 09-10...that was admittedly pretty cool, probably should have got some... Also, two days ago, I saw a manas power brick and matching remote for a total of $2 in a middle-of-nowhere thrift shop...probably should have bought those too XD
  15. Ones were thrown away, ones are kept in undoctumented toy chests, ones are kept by people who have no idea it's special...I remember hearing a story from a BZPer who found one in a gutter on the side of the road. Still, i'm gonna guess we could track down and keep tabs on 20%-30% if we were to put our minds and resources to it. an SSKK and WMKK are two of the most valuable items in our community, we should make an effort to keep track...
  16. I would avoid buying bohrak kal on ebay for the express purpose of getting lucky and finding an SSKK or WMKK for the same reason I would advice participation in the lottery...Yeah, there's guarenteed to be a handful out there that would net you an SSKK or WMKK, but in reality it's incredibly unlikely that you will find it. As a community, we should figure out how to put together a registry for the WMKK and SSKK in the world...
  17. it could probably do all those things...but it brings up the similar question of "is air too OP in air?". I think that, if the writers weren't worried about making the characters OP, we probably would have seen more water and air toa being horrific forces of nature.
  18. The suggestion to kill off the majority of the MU's female population to try and explain the warped gender ratio is one of the most awful, sexist, gross things I have ever heard. There is no context in which that could ever be okay. Also the fact that there have been 5 other threads created about this is really frustrating. And how have I been hostile or violent? I have never threatened anyone in these threads. I told myself I was gonna jump ship on this particular topic... A while back in the topic, someone used countries with warped gender ratios as evidence as to why Bionicle may "naturally" have one. In reality, we know that those warped ratios happen for often terrible, non-natural reasons...but whatevs. I threw in that, in order for THAT piece of evidence to be used, something similar had to have happened in Bionicle's history. I meant for it to be recieved in a "well, that's really really messed up" way and hopefully sway people to advocating for an equal gender ratio...but I appeared to word it badly, and a lot of people took it and ran with it as the best thing since sliced bread. So...yeah...I'll take responsibility for that particular train of thought. Also to say that it's terrible and people should come up other ideas...like, i dunno...making plasma female.
  19. 1/5 your name is so familiar...i don't know...
  20. I'd unlock both genders for the elements, male and female. I would leave any characters i bring back their original gender, unless I can come up with a good reason to switch one or two. Perhaps put equal emphasis on female and male characters. 2001 Bionicle was aimed primarily at boys. 2025 bionicle is smart enough to know that many genders love it, despite me being told to aim at 7-12 year old boys XD.
  21. First question: strong yes. Second question: 1:1 overall and transgender representation. Final question: Strong yes. Having the elements be representative of both genders, and having the ratio be OVERALL as opposed to element to element, seems like the best way to satisfy both sides of the debate. We get the equality we've been fighting for, and the main characters don't have to switch gender. We even can still explain away why we've seen so many male or female characters of a particular element, because, for example, maybe there's more male air characters than female characters. Voted for the transgender option due to personal beliefs...as a realist, i understand canonizing something along those lines would be beyond what Lego may allow. I won't push that one. Strong yes on the final question because, if we end up leaving the elements gender locked, that's the fallback. Look...We know why there are so many characters in Bionicle that are male. Initially, Bionicle was marketed exclusivly to boys, and an all male cast is historicly how toy companies handle that. However, in 2015, just looking at the BZP community, we know better than that: Bionicle isn't a toyline for boys, or storyline for boys, it's for everyone. therefore, it should REPRESENT everyone. There's no excuse in 2015 for this wonderful, living/breathing story should be male dominant.
  22. I really like that kanohi blend...It works really well. would the combo of a kaukau and a pakari equal a strong swimmer, or...?
  23. We all know who we wanted as a set: Tren Krom. It would have been easy to produce too...Just fill a box with assorted meat from a butcher's shop, and BAM, it's a set to give the Axalara T9 a run for it's money. In all seriousness...I would have lost my mind for Karzahni (not mutated) and Artahka sets, optimally in the same year.
  24. 4/5. Been seeing you everywhere
  25. "Baller"? As in ball is life? Anyways...I wish I could remember the exact moment. I saw an ad somewhere about the original Mata back in 2001...I became super vocally excited about it, and next thing I knew, christmas came, and I was the proud owner of the mctoran, the Mata, and Muaka and Kane Ra. Been a die hard fan ever since.
