Void Emissary Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 IC: His hands busy with his disk launcher, I hoped Helios wouldn't mind too much my borrowing of his hammer. It's for an art project, mate, I promise! I also hoped he wouldn't mind its subsequent electrification, nor the impact of its head into the Jaga's that would be coming in the next ... oh ... thirty seconds? "Giant monsters?" I asked, painting a grin over the memories of the Rama Hive, when I watched the sky turn black with bugs and Akinii bleed out in the dirt while monsters who used to be Turaga tried to rip us limb from limb. Hanako Herupa Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 IC: The Captain calmly, painstakingly cut a corner off his Meatception Sirloin and ate it pensively. Halfway through the act of chewing, his jaw tightened and he looked down at his dinner once, tilting his head almost curiously at it, before cutting off another, bigger cube and eating that as well. The third cube, he politely, wordlessly held out to Kino, dangling off the edge of his knife. She smiled and bit it off about as sultrily as he'd ever seen someone eat a cube of steak, unnecessarily wrapped in bacon - on his end, Angel's brow rose in bemusement - before taking a bite of her salmon. He shrugged and took another bite of his steak, with a particularly crispy bite of bacon affixed firmly to the outside of the cut. Mmm. "What about you?" he asked, after overcoming a couple minutes of relative silence and a third of his steak. "What were you up to? Mercenary work must have been in high demand, last couple of years." -Tyler IC: (Kino) "I did jobs here and there, honestly just your typical mercenary work. Had a friend I reunited with, we haven't see each other in a while." I sighed, stabbing my fork down into a scallop, savoring the sweetness of the sauce. I plucked another one up, holding it for him. "Truth be told Ta just become this stable place for me, and when your boss asked me to continuing work for him. There's also two amazingly attractive guys that like to hang around Ta-Koro. So quite simply, what's not to like here besides the heat?" I giggled.

Franco Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) IC: I grin at the one moving towards me; I had figured attacking her and her companion along with Thok was the right move. Too bad she sent one of my marriages down the drain, but I had plenty more babes to choose from in Mr. Manpurse. No big loss, anyway, as my goals had merely been to test my sweetpeas and exact me some vengeance for that rope trick. Testing this pair to see which one of us was best adapted just made it a package deal. Besides, that generation of water was quicker than any I'd seen and I hadn't yet seen masks looking like theirs. Maybe there was hope for a challenge in this world. Maybe the two of them would be a nice little warmup for my inevitable pulverizing of Thok's cranium. Maybe they'd be as intelligent as their pursuit of him suggested and dash the ###### away. "You know," I call over to her, grabbing my polearm in both hands, "You and your boyfriend here-," I nodded to the one engaging Thok, "-look pretty good as far as this business goes. I'm going to enjoy this." I lengthen my grin and rev the saw. Then I plow through the emptying street towards my new target, charging with whirling blade overhead to split her skull at a lightning drop. "I love cutting down competition." Ghosthands Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) IC (Lohkar) The three pirate ships were scrutinised in turn through the lens of a spyglass. The big one in the middle, the flagship, was not unlike the Fowadi - bulky, armoured, and heavily armed, though a little less so than the Po-Koronan ship, allowing for greater speed at the cost of less damage reduction. The other two were more like the 'Vika in size, but obviously far less elegant in design. They were heavier in armour and armament, too; a glance over the gun decks showed an arsenal dominated by light disk launchers of the type used for anti-personnel applications, with a handful of heavier ones interspersed between them - two fore, one starboard, port, and aft. The smaller ships' guns were concentrated around their forecastles, with a collection of chasers almost rivaling those the 'Vika...had had. Their armour was arranged similarly. Lohkar lowered his spyglass, a frown-and-smirk combination gracing his features. He had a plan. "All hands on deck!" he barked, his voice carrying through the entirety of the ship and drawing the crew out like Rama from a hive. Lohkar jumped down from the aftcastle and began striding towards the mizzenmast, roaring orders as he went. "Midshipman, take the wheel!" he told Yasurek. "Bring us out wide along their flank, and take us as close as ya can past the aft o' the nearest ship. "Doomslayer! Man the disk-turret an' get ready to give 'em karz. Oh, an' I'm gonna need that grinaed lawnchair o' yours. "Tellus, get ready ta patch up any damage we take. I don't want a scratch on 'er! "Lasinia, Floria, stay on the ship an' look after Mimira, an' take care of any would-be saboteurs. "Gunner, Edubard, Ensis, Raknar, an' Sandy McDeathwish - grab your 'Lutu an' prepare ta board! sunflower Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) IC: The three quite unfriendly-looking ships continued to lumber forward through the choppy waters around the jagged island towards the two vessels ahead. They gave no indication of deviating from their path, almost as if they were going to attempt to simply ram the Vika and Fowadi. Aboard the larger of the three stood the pirate captain, his feet, one not his original, planted on the stained deck with his coat billowing around him as he held up a spyglass. He pulled it away from his eye after a moment, and his gaze sharpened in recognition. The massive Skakdi's head whipped to the side with an unexpectedly sudden movement, his beady eyes fixing themselves on a grey-armored Toa standing off to the side. The Toa gave a small nod, and the Captain began to speak. "LOHKAR," he bellowed, his elementally-enhanced voice booming across water between the two ships. "CONSORTING WITH THE GUARD, NOW ARE WE?" The Skakdi raised a hand, before pulling it back down in a clenched fist. Around him, his ships suddenly sprang into life with a flurry of movement as beings of all walks of life made their way haphazardly to their stations. The three ships picked up in speed, with the two smaller ones breaking off in what looked to be an attempt to cut off the Vika and Fowadi's escape, with the flagship continued it's unstoppable march forward. With a crack, the first shots rang out from the pirate's ships, despite the fact that they were still out of range to exchange fire. Heavy metal disks impacted against the water, sending up huge sprays of water into the air. IC: The titanic beast shuddered underneath it's ever increasing weight, straining to keep itself up in the single-minded determination of the animal it was. The ground shook from it's footsteps as it rotated in place in an attempt to keep all of the being around within it's field of view, though it's attention was suddenly drawn from the red Skakdi circling through the trees to the more immediate threat of a teal-armored Toa of Lightning charging towards it. The Nui Jaga uselessly snapped at the air, though Plagia was too quick for it in the Rahi's weight-down state. The electrified hammer blow cleanly fell through down onto the beast's head, giving off a resounding thwack that was quite satisfying, not to mention the crackling sound of electricity arcing onto the Jaga's shell, leaving behind blackened spots on the gleaming surface. The Jaga's head twitched violently from the attack, and it seemed Plagia had managed to stun the Rahi for a time. That is, until it's back arched upward, and it's huge tail shot forward towards the space that said Toa of Lightning now occupied. Luckly for Helio, the scorpion wasn't too concerned with flying objects that didn't look like immediate threats, and his upward travel wasn't challenged. With the beast distracted, and forced to a standstill by Plagia's elemental power, it was simple enough for him to line up the shot well enough. The disk flew through the air, hitting the embedded stone dead-on. The rock was dislodged from it's spot on the Nui Jaga's back, sliding down and off the creature. However, the fact that it landed under the scorpion could hardly be called an improvement in position. Edited May 24, 2014 by Gravity - BZPRPG -

There was dried blood on her forearms, and carefully-stitched rents in her clothing, and a fresh bandage wrapped tight about her left wrist stood in stark contrast to her admittedly rather barbaric and unkempt appearance, and she was absolutely filthy and she'd never looked hotter in her life and she knew it.Wild thing. Looking out at the enemy ships, he could see their attempts at cutting off any escape. Fortunately, the Vika wasn't trying to escape. Instead, they were going on the offensive. At his signal, wind filled the sails and the previously immobile ship shot forward, darting through the gap forming between the enemy ships. With a large amount of precision, Yasurek guided the 'Vika through the waves, using the larger ones as makeshift cover from a possible broadside. The smaller enemy ships, already turning away from the 'Vika's course, would be hard pressed to turn and mount any sort of offensive. Soon, the 'Vika was coming up behind one of the smaller ships. Eyru Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 IC (Oreius) The audible analysis had been more for Leah's sake than Oreius's: the Auporo didn't require weaknesses to be voiced. The downside was that this Piraka now knew that they knew. Surprise lost, knowledge gained. A fair trade-off. The ground shook, taking the Toa of Fire by surprise. In his anger and distraction, fighting to keep Inu's thoughts and Tahu's temper at bay, he'd forgotten that the presence of two Skakdi meant that could use their elemental powers. Fighting to keep his balance, he managed to keep the Skakdi's saw at bay, then suddenly throw it off as his opponent let one hand go. The Piraka fell back with his weapon, but brought up a zamor launcher at the same time, firing a projectile into Oreius's belly. He stumbled back, expecting the pain of a blast or the heat of acid, but it was simply a thin mist that gently billowed out of the projectile, clinging to the Toa's armour. The two men stood facing each other for a split second, and then Oreius was afraid. It swept over him like a tsunami, making his legs weak. Fighting once more to keep his balance, he felt his stomach clench and his throat close up even as his mouth opened in a wordless scream. The Makuta had once shown him things to break his spirit; he had conjured death and destruction, fire and blood, but even then, those images had only served to fan the flames of Tahu's anger. This fear was different. It doused the fire in his chest, turning his heart to ice and silencing the First Toa's ever-present voice. He was cold. He was afraid. He had been afraid once like this, a lifetime ago. Shorter and weaker in stature, frozen by the Toa of Fear, Utu, he had felt his blood slow and his thoughts go out one by one like little candles. He was lost, until Kapura's words echoed in his ears from some long-forgotten conversation, bringing the spark to warm his veins. Courage is the soul of movement. You must have courage or you will be frozen. Fear stops all. Courage defeats Fear. Courage had freed him then. Where was his courage now? IC (Inu) I am Inu. I am hunter-life-drinker. I am not afraid. Vezok's Friend Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 IC: As soon as the Zamor Sphere hit Oreius, the Toa of water sprung into action. From the way her fire-brother had been fighting to keep his anger in check ever since Ko-Wahi, she had a feeling the Piraka was in for an unpleasant surprise soon enough. But in the meantime, there was a window of opportunity as the Skakdi's focus was diverted. He was right about one thing though: attachments were a weakness. Especially the vain attachment to one's own voice as he spouted out his own warped psychological ideas. She moved to the left and charged, her staff raised and ready to swing; simultaneously summoning her element to form another sphere of water in the air. There was a short distance between them, easily covered within two or three running steps, but Reidak was quick on the uptake and brought his weaponized mining equipment around to block the incoming attack - which didn't happen. Instead, he was suddenly soaked by a splash of cool water from above. The Toa of water had stopped her strike a fraction of a second before impact, letting the Skakdi's counter hit empty air, then she let go of the sphere above, dousing him, which bought her the second of time she was hoping for. He glared at her and despite her thoughts being anything but joyful, she shot him a coky, straight-outta-Le-Koro grin in return while thrusting her staff forward, the blunt end aimed straight for the Piraka's forehead. "You talk too much." "Come on, big guy. Let's dance."
The Drink Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 IC: "Last moments? Gimme a break."This freakin' guy."And I just told you. Smoke them out, get them separated, pound them into the dirt." he reiterated, brandishing Rebellion for effect.Yeah, the big ol' double-bitted axe was shiny too. He and his dad took care of that thing."Ideally, I'd disarm them as well. I want one of those launchers they apparently carry around. They sound lovely."Well, that and the fact he had a much better chance of "styling all over their balls" in a fistfight. But hey, take whatever you can get. helo frens
