Tharros reached with his left hand to take another swig of beer. After lowering the stein back to the bar he replied to the curious veteran, " We are gathering any who are willing to fight for the Matoran of this land!" Tharros stood strong and tall, the dazed Talinka still atop his towering shoulder. He was quite a bit over dramatic; but still he emanated power. "There is a war coming. The time has come to decide whether we will fight against the corrupt, or stand by and watch." Tharros shifted his shoulder, once more adjusting his grip on the pluralistic Toa. "A play has already been made in Ko Koro, their Akiri is dead. It can only be a matter of time before the corrupt rise to seize power. And we would be ignorant to assume this coup stops at the mountain of ice. The corrupt will not rest until the entire island is subdued." Tharros rested his left hand upon the shoulder of the Ussalryman. "So tell me my friend," The Matoran's scars told of his courage; his empty glasses spoke of his sins. "Which side will you take?"

IC Kirgan, Hile and Teede

(Onu-Koro, Great Mine, Secret lab):

Teede seemed unamused by the zombie-talk. "Don't say that", he said. "There are many ways to raise undeads. I'd hate it if it happened here."

"Now that we're here...", Kirgan began. Teede cut him off.

"I promised to help Xaron", he said. "Now, where did I put my equipment..."

Teede rummaged through some of the junk littered all around the lab and eventually pulled out a rod-like thing.

"I have something upstairs we can use, but I need this to open it", he said. "Just wait here a sec, I'll be right back."

Teede walked upstairs. Kirgan turned to his friends. "Isn't this really something?" he said. "We found something special after all. Now all we need to do is figure out what to do with it."

IC: Krayne The Rainmaker

He landed his hoverboard in an abandoned mine and walked towards a small opening. He heard some clanking at first but it stopped just a few seconds after it started.

A small drone started hitting his foot but he felt no pain. He lifted his leg and squished the drone. He continued his journey into the small cave.

Jackpot

I knew I'd judged this Toa right the first time I saw him. He seemed just the type to have an affinity for stirring things up, regardless of how unaware of the fact he might be.

He wanted to fight corruption, and he was gathering an army. Ulterior motives, perhaps?

I needed to find out more...

IC Kirgan, Hile and Teede

(Onu-Koro, Great Mine, Secret lab):

"He didn't write it, but apparently a friend of his did", Kirgan clarified Xaron's answer. "It was something about prophecies and time travel. It looks like time travel was the main project these Matoran were trying to make possible. Something about it all feels odd, though."

Hile gave Xaron a funny look as he punched a body. "Good that you're satisfied. I doubt he felt the pain though."

Teede walked up the stairs to the room with the shattered Tripod, only to encounter a tall Vortixx. He looked at the creature in shock of surprise.

"Who are you?" he asked.

IC Kirgan and Hile

(Onu-Koro, Great Mine, Secret lab):

"Maybe the simplicity of time travel is part of its fascination", Kirgan mused. "The Matoran in this lab figured that if they couldn't build a time machine, they would find another way to go forward in time. While in statis, you are unconscious and you don't age. When you are awakened, it feels like only seconds have passed since you entered statis. For Teede, statis was time travel. If only their methods had been more reliable, all these Matoran wouldn't have died. Oh, and Teede went upstairs."

Meanwhile Hile visited the other rooms of the lab, curious about whatever he might find. He found a large room with a big machine in it's center. It was almost like a tube surrounded with machinery. It looked like the thing was a mess, but Hile knew better: It was probably very constructed with care and patience.

"Guys, check this out", he shouted to the others.

"No," he said simply. "They deserve no more or less than death."

IC: [ Rhea ] - Onu-Koro / Wise Man's Archive

Rhea nodded silently, understanding. Morals were slippery things, hard to grasp, but a code of honor, a code of conduct... that was something different.

Blood for blood, life for life.

She unlatched the door, stepped out quietly onto the doorstep, and clicked it shut behind her. Alone in the street, she summoned her elemental energies and made a brief heat signature test, a test that revealed nothing more than a massive, rangy figure crouched on the rooftop above and behind her. Nero the Axe. As always, dependable.

Flipping the hood of her cloak up to shroud her head and shadow her features, the female Su-Toa began walking briskly towards the forge of Toa Ferron. It had been a long, productive day, and it wasn't over. Not yet.

She smiled faintly.

As soon as Rhea was gone, Demos rushed to the second floor. "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting," he said to the employees that were still at work. "And I'm afraid there is some cleaning up to do downstairs. My guests were a little less than friendly."

With nary another word, he staggered to his room and locked the door before sinking to the ground. He felt another attack coming on, and this time he was going to let it play out alone.

The roaring, frothing cloud of steam poured from the water barrel as Ferron cooled the glowing material, his prosthetics serving as pliers. He squinted through his mask as the mold emerged still glowing from the barrel, he nodded slightly in approval as he put it away next to the rest.

"There, I think that should do it" Ferron said as he collapsed on a metal armchair that grew out from the floor under him. The lightstone in the Forge's inner sanctum was clouded in vapor, glowing like a foglight under the high ceiling.

"Rhea shouldn't be far off. Tuli, could you go outside and make sure to be at the door when she comes? I'll finish up here"

IC: The Phantom

The invisible Toa smiled under his masks. There was a scent on the wind. The scent of chase. Not prey, no. A rival? A hunter? Perhaps both. Would this one succeed where others had failed in the past? Time would tell.

And either way, this would be fun.

The phantom's invisible eyes fell on another unfortunate soul, stumbling through the street, drunk off his mask. Life had been hard to this one. Taking it from him would be a mercy.

And a joy.

Without a sound, a knife slid across the Matoran's throat. A high-frequency vibration ensured no blood remained on the blade.

And then all was still.

The voice was accompanied by a shring! of metal on metal as a saperka was drawn. Though Houren could not see the killer, he knew he was there by the shadow. Even at night, Onu-Koro was well-lit.

A simple patrol had turned interesting. The Ussalry Matoran hopped off his steed and prepared for combat.

"Surrender now and I won't have to kill you," he chuckled.

"Hey, buddy, this is the phantom you're talking to." The voice came from on top of his head this time. The Toa began walking toward the guard, aiming to walk right past him. From a safe distance, of course. He hadn't survived this long by taking risks. Beyond killing, that is. "I may not be Onu-Koro's most wanted, but I'm up there." The voice shifted to sound like it was right next to his left 'ear'. "Look at the bounty lists, you'll see me, I guarantee it. I'm already wanted, dead or alive. It's not that I want to be any higher, though. I'm just saying..." His voice shifted again to come from several feet away. "You're not the one in control here."

"Of course", Tuli said and returned to the main room to wait for Rhea. She trusted Ferron knew what he was doing, even if that something was questionable.

(Onu-Koro, Great Mine, Secret lab):

"I think this is it", Hile said as the others arrived to look at the large construction in the middle of the big room. "This must be that time machine of theirs."

Kirgan looked at in in awe, but also disbelief. The machine looked like a hastily constructed piece of junk. It was basically just the transparent cylinder with wires and various other gizmo's protruding from its base. "No wonder they couldn't make it work", he said.

*

Teede's eyes widened behind his Mahiki-shaped mask. This tall being knew him? If that was so, he might ruin his plans...

"I am Teede", he replied. "But I do not recognize you. Why are you here?"

IC: Shadd

The archaeologist, for one, wasn't that interested in that specific piece of equipment. In the future, when (if) time travel were to become possible, then it might fit in a museum, but as it was, it was as useless as it looked. The stasis tubes, however, were another story. With modern stasis having advanced so much since Teede's time, the Onu-Matoran relics would be worth looking at in a museum on technological history. He had a few more questions for Teede.

"I'm going to head up after Teede," he said. "I still have some things to ask. Don't touch the time machine, by the way. It'll be worth even less damaged."

IC(Houren - Onu Streets)

"Oh, you're that guy. Yeah...we see twenty guys just like you every Friday. Don't kid yourself son."

Houren racked his brain, trying to remember this one criminal who thought he was a big deal. Indeed, he was wanted dead or alive. Houren didn't have to play nice. He scanned the area in front of him, watching the shadow he'd seen earlier come closer. The little song and dance the Phantom had been doing with his voice had no effect- maybe if he had concentrated it on one spot, it would've been believable. As it was, he had just revealed his abilities.

With the seemingly inhuman speed of a soldier, he simultaneously dropped his saperka and drew his crossbow and sprayed the area with bolts. It was a repeating crossbow, and as such fired in great number. The Phantom would be hard-pressed to dodge every bolt.

OOC: Shadow? Do Huna cast a shadow now? Also, just thought I'd mention, the phantom's distorting his voice to make it sound deeper, so no voice recognition further down the line.

IC: The Phantom

The phantom figured out what the Matoran (Houren's a Matoran, right? I can't find his profile) was doing after the third bolt was fired. Rather than dodge, he instead threw himself at the ground into a roll, coming to a stop just to the guard's left, all silenced by his power.

"If there was another one like me, I'd know," He threw over the Matoran's other shoulder.

OOC: Yes. I apologize for the absence of his profile; I was doing work on my profile page recently and must've accidently deleted his. It's saved on my other computer, so I'll put it up tonight. It's not like I can pull something out of nowhere- he's and Onu-Matoran and you know how Ussalry members are armed. As far as the voice recognition bit...I'm sorry, but that sounds like something one would put in a pre-existing post rather than tell me OOC as an afterthought. So be it.

IC(Houren - Onu Streets)

As soon a Houren reached the bottom of his clip, he realized he had hit nothing- his opponent had moved. Had he run? Houren was about to return to his patrol, having successfully overcome the Toa, when the target responded to his earlier statement. He slowly reloaded and kept talking.

"Petty criminal? Killing off lowlifes? Nah, y'all don't scare-" he stopped short. The shadow from earlier was overlapping his own. The killer was right beside him. Only one course of action.

He let loose with another clip at point blank range.

IC: The Phantom

Aready in a crouching position, a quick duck ensured that the bolt sailed over his shoulder. A quick manipulation of sound mimicked the noise of a rock being kicked farther down the alley. With luck, the Matoran would think he had made a run for it. Still, he positioned himself for a quick strike, should the Matoran try that again.

Houren heard the sound of a rock down the alley and recognized the ploy. Maybe convincing, except that Houren could still see the shadow. Out of clips, he quickly traded his crossbow for his saperka.
