IC: SkyraSkyra pulled out his newly acquired broadsword. "It's funny, this sword managed to survive the Rahkshi fight...I'm thinking it's a keeper." Little did he realize how soon he just might have to use it again.

OOC: Okay, time to up the anté. *pops fingers*Thanks for taking time to note your room in bold. @ Skyra, sorry, but I bunny'd you back where I can stay sane.IC: Riaril, Takimoc (yes), Faerulo, Nakumiir (sorry to whoever she was hanging but nothing's happened in ages), and Moriika (I don't care what he was doing. I need him)."Who do you think I am, you big muscular ofe?" Riaril laughed as she poked Krayzikk's stomach, level with her chest. Honestly, what am I doing loving a man twice my size? The sounds of hurried footsteps and pounding doorways echoed from the herb closet as both Jolek and Tarex dashing to get the necessary herbs she'd called for. In a stroke of insight, Riaril trounced back into her office -- someday she'd fix the trashed hinges with something "martial artist proof" -- and retrieved her coat, the white dyed flax adding the finishing touch to, "I am a doctor. Bow before me." With a new power of prestige coursing through her limbs, Riaril grabbed the back of a guard member's kanohi on the street, where matoran bustled blindly beneath a hot afternoon sun, their conscience clear and without any realization to the torrent of tribulations attributing to Riaril's anxiety."Bring me team Kanohii Dragon. I'm sick and tired of them going off on vacations. Bring them back if you have to DRAG them back."Things only heated up in the hospital of flame from there. Riaril became a flurry of movement, chewing or grinding herbs into salve pastes while at the same time wrapping, setting, and splinting the broken bones of Skyra's body in room 12. Riaril's breathe smelled worse than Faerulo's healing tonics she applied on Onuzek's abdomen behind the drawn reed screen of room 14, her only light source the small berry wax candles melting in their operas along the walls. Even though he was a newbie to the hospital, and not even an intern at that but just a freeloader, Riaril was glad to have someone else beside her who was able to yank all the shrapnel of only a piraka would know what of metals from the titan's gut. Maybe he decided to eat a toa? Riaril chuckled to herself, but soon wizened up at the curious glance of Jolek.By the time Moriika has arrived, his tools bundled into a small travel back and his chest heaving from the long run, Riaril was already on her second cigarette, not caring for the hospital protocol of "don't smoke near flamables" any longer. By Karz, I'M flammable with all this mata-nui forsaken work, she thought as she struck light directly from the friction of the stone walls against the cig's tip, bending it slightly as she did.Krayzikk was helpful at moving the patients to where she needed them, but after that she sent him to to get some rest. A hung-over titan was the last thing she needed clogging her halls. ---- time lapse occurred in ooc ---"WHERE ARE YOU DOING OUT OF BED MY TREASURES?" Riaril bellowed, her entire visage one of a demon of the underworld coming to eat its prey. She was gaunt from the work; her elemental, healing, and physical abilities placed far beyond the maximum limit of a toa's sane capacity to endure such an exorcism of bodily injury. With a swift motion, she'd potato-sacked Skyra and carried him off to room 12 again to rest, laying him like a fragile glass cup down on his linen cot in the ward room. "Please," Riaril said, her voice like a mother berating a sick but loved child; "Stay here and rest. I know it's boring, but it's going to heal you more than chatting in an upright position. Try to get some sleep."She strode out of the room to come face-first with the Lord of the Snow and his charge."Tairel, what's going on?" She asked. The matoran needed healing immediately, though by the looks of it, amputation was perhaps the only solution to the frostbite on his right fingers. Riaril inwardly cringed at having to tell a toa she'd be cutting off his friend's hand. Snapping her fingers, Nakumiir appeared a few moments later."Yes, Riaril?""I need you to get Faerulo to make up a batch of heat packs. On the double bring them to room 8 when you got them. Also, I'll need you to take care of the patient's broken bones. From the swelling, he looks like he's got two ribs on the right either broken or poking his lungs, and the elbow on the same side is bent the wrong way."Without a word, Nakumiir scuttled off towards the medicine man's room. Never having taken her eye's off of Kol, Riaril finally smile at the two newcomers."Welcome to the ta-koro guard hospital. Please enjoy your time, and I'll make sure your friend is healed as well as I can."

IC: Jolek eyed the newcomer who brushed past him, scrutinising the being, noting every detail about his posture and body language."He looks non-threatening..." he mumbled, somewhat befuddled. Indeed, all things considered, he was nothing to worry about. However, one didn't survive for most of their life in the Le-Wahi jungle without getting a keen intuition for danger. He decded he'd trust his gut, and give this stranger a wide berth, and keep an eye on him. After all, if he was wrong, there was no harm done in his staying out of his business.

IC: Laserbeak + KrayzikkLaserbeak passed Hiemalis as she walked to visit Krayzikk. Overall, there was something she didn't trust about him..... She had a bad feeling and after her former career, she trusted her instincts. The Toa looked straight at Hiemalis, keeping her distance, but obviously observing.Krayzikk sat in an empty nearby room. One of the disadvantages of a hangover was the headache, which was currently keeping him from entirely following Riaril's instructions to rest. Oh well.

IC: SkyraAs Skyra lay there on the cot. He muttered to himself, "Sleep she says...how am I suppose to sleep with all the things I need to do!?" He sounded like a pouting child. He eyed his broadsword, it was lying on the floor like a discarded tool. He reached for it, gripping it's firm hilt. He began swinging the blade around in a bored manner as he 'rested'.

Ic: Hiemalis nodded his hypocritical thanks as he carried Kol to room eight. There were a few others who gave him that look, doubtlessly because of the mysterious appearance he kept with his charade. He knew that it was only a matter of time, when things were more normal and relaxed, that people would start asking him questions, prodding as his being, seeking answers, but that was when he could pop out of his snide shell and complete the task he had come for.He lay him down on the bed in room eight, gingerly and gently. If Kol were aware of what was happening, he did not show it, and Hiemalis was certain this bewildering turn of events would only throw the matoran into further confusion. For Kol, that respite from the torture, the seeming love Hiemalis was displaying, would only serve to bewilder his senses and question everything even further. And it was from that confoundation, that whirlwind of ideas, that Hiemalis would construct his own image in Kol's mind and heart. And then Kol's soul would be his."Where would you have me?" he asked his staff escort.

OOC: EW, I take it you're referring to Mef Man, yes? However, I will be interacting with Kol... Sorta'. :P Read on!IC: Nakumiir, Riaril, Faerulo, and MoriikaShe rushed past Moriika -- busy as usual tinkering on some biomechanics project to aid the wounded -- and flew down the small staircase to the store-room. On the last few steps she slipped, landing on all fours to absorb her momentum. Nakumiir's usual venom towards Riaril had been temporarily cured with the immense influx of toa, and a matoran now, who were in dire need of attention. Surprising how a hospital of the guard could have so many civilian patients, she thought absently as she flipped open the lid on the water-tank, a burst of steam clouding her vision as she yanked her neck back in response.--"I don't know exactly what the extent of his damage is," Riaril said to the cloaked being, "But I believe he will be to heal with time. A week would be pushing it, but it may be possible. In the meantime, sir, I would suggest you find a hotel to stay in. I know a few of renown, the Lavapool Inn for instance, who will give discounts to those with family in my hospital. It's not large, but the extra money could help pay for the matoran's treatment."Riaril saw the figure's frown and continued in a business-like rebuke; "We may be not for profit, but we do need widgets to get our supplies and feed our staff and patients."--"Faerulo!" She called in the dank under-space of the hospital's belly. A muffled "Wha-" followed by a stifled giggle came back from somewhere behind the boxes of valmia powder and ginsing root.Nakumiir felt proud to be ordering someone else around as she said; "I need you to get me some of your heat packs. The special ones. We got a matoran with frostbite on his right hand."The sudden scuttle out of sight brought brought down a crate, the contents spilling rapidly outwards in an outpour of dried leaves and black beetles from the le-wahi jungle which were used by Faerulo in his commonly sold headache tonic. The herbalist stumbled out, and hurried into his office. Nakumiir's temper flared slightly at Faerulo's indiscretion, but she smiled and adjusted his kanohi when he returned a minute later with the packs. Blushing, Faerulo ran back up the stairs to be of help. Nakumiir turned back to her labors, dropping the heatpacks into the tub of hot water before slamming the metal lid back down, clasping the spill-lock, and shifting gears to quickly cleaning up the spilled box. By the time the crate was propped upright against the wall, its lid firmly reattached, Steam was seeping from the sides of the metal water-heater. "Karz," Nakumiir cursed under her breath, then flipped the lock and pushed the lid open, careful this time to stand on the side and avoid the inoculation of steam to her precious yellow eyes. With veteran fingers she gingerly plucked the heaters from their sunken beds and placed them in woven flax covers one by one, her hands moving quickly to deter the burning heat of the packs. The lid was closed with a slap, the lock locked, and the heaters laid on a tray for easy carrying in a matter of moments. Within five minutes, Nakumiir was finished with her trip and heading back up the stairs two at a time. --Moriika groaned and slammed his hands on the desk for the hundredth time. "I'm not getting anywhere," he pained, cradling his face in his hands to hide his despair. Riaril had tasked him with the problem of finding a way to build a cast that allowed for a patient to move normally, but what could he do with the few materials he'd been given, and for a titan no less?--The halls held the hush of suspense as Nakumiir's feet collided with the lava-stone floor, the small airholes giving the littlest of relief to the constant heat of the city. Why did I ever end up in a city that's always a million degrees? She parted the reed screen of room eight with a subtle foot, slinking her way around the sides of the small room, avoiding Riaril and the other being -- a presence of relieving cold in the hot world of the medic -- who had taken over the central moving space. As she passed, she caught Riaril's words "... May amputate..." in the hushed tone of the defeated. Without a word, Nakumiir did her duty. The packs were laid out over the small matoran's body, one wrapped tightly around the patient's right hand to stop the spread of the blue-tinged frostbite laying seige to his hand. Being a healer was being at war with the world's ailments: the slightest slip of faith would lead to death. OOC: Yes, Riaril did ask the Lord of Snow if she could amputate Kol's right hand if it came to it, though there's most likely not a need... :evilgrin:Sorry, that was a bit of a barf. :P Also, yes, Moriika is working on a project for Onuzek.

IC: SkyraSkyra continued to swing his blade around lazily, a little too lazily as a matter of fact. He managed to cut through some of the bedding on his cot. Yeah...I'm gonna get yelled at for that one.Skyra debated in his mind whether or not he'd dare to get up and sneak out of the hospital. It's just soooo boring in here! A little pain in my abdomen isn't a big deal. I could go out, look around the charred forest, come back, and no one would know the wiser. Skyra started to rise to a sitting position, but then his abdomen shot up in pain. He yelped and laid back down in defeat. "It's not fair...." He whined.OOC: Gee...I'm starting to make Skyra really impulsive... Well that's character development for ya...or mal-development. :P

OOC: I'll just post here to make sure Sisk is actually in Ta-Koro. Kal seems a bit illusive since we moved from ga-wahi.IC:Sisk had enjoyed the journey from Ga-Wahi to Ta-Wahi. Sure, nothing gave him his kicks like flying Skyscratcher and walking seemed terribly slow by comparison, but sitting on Hasil's shoulder had the advantage of seeing things from a different perspective then that of a Matoran for once.So this is what it much-feels like when you're a Toa hero...pretty tall, he thought, looking around. They had entered the village of fire not long ago. Last time Sisk had been here, the mood and atmosphere inside the Mangai had been a serious dampener of his spirits. But somehow, he didn't seem to mind either of them now. He could even start to sense the appeal the village might have on somebody else. If one ignored the fact that it was in an active volcano and that flakes of ash were always in the air, what remained was a safe and homely place to live. Relatively speaking of course. Continuing their walk, the group made their way deeper into Ta-Koro. Sisk began to hum a little melody while his thoughts rambled on.

Ic: "That's fine," Hiemalis said quickly. It wasn't without emotion, though; having his matoran lose an appendage would be costly to him, and he would hate to see Kol become a Darth Vader of the BZPRPG; but what was Hiemalis' objective but to conquer Kol's soul? What superficial damage would be done to his vessel would be moot to his mind, and Hiemalis could take advantage of this."But I want to stay here," he said. "No inn for me."

ALL ANYONE TOLD ME WAS SHE WAS TEACHING THE VIOLIN! (Being a victim here...)IC: RiarilRiaril stopped in mid-stride out of the room at Hiemalus' comment, her body in direct opposition to her line of movement."I'm sorry," Riaril said as a question. She was not, in any effect, sorry for Hiemalus. "You cannot stay here. I don't have enough room. Unless, for some reason, you happen to fall gravely ill. In which case, I might be able to set you up with a bed, or even a good mortician if you happen to not make it." Riaril's tone was stony. She had a job to run, and visitors did not sleep over. I need to go tell a certain flirty girl and martial artist the same words, she thought as she breezed past the reed mat into the hall

Ic: "I want to stay here," Hiemalis repeated just as he said before, though it was still loud enough for Riaril to hear despite not being in line of sight anymore. As if to emphasize the fact that he was not leaving, he scooped up the nearest stool and sat down, looking at Kol. The pretense was to observe Kol recover, but the truth was far less benign.

IC: Charred forest patrol, again. Tarotrix had just came back from both a foray into Po-Koro (Where he fought the Rahkshi) and a vacation in Ga-Koro. After buying a new spear, he'd returned to guard duty. With about three recruits, he walked the usual trail, for the second time today. But instead of scouting for rahi, he was looking for a missing squad of guards.Jogging along the black dirt of the trail, Taro looked around for anything unusual. The air smelled like a campfire, the trees were black, as always, and the only thing stirring in the forest was some Fishing Birds, perched on a tree. Normal, for this part of the forest. Going foward, he came to a crossroads. "Mak, Zand, take the left. Orkov, come with me.""Yes sir," they each barked, with variable degrees of fear. With Ork clutching his two pronged stave, they slowly went down the trail. Taro cleared his mind, opened his ears, and smelled the air. It was the usual, for about ten minutes. He prepared to let his guard down a bit, but the smell changed that. The smell of decay."You smell that, Private?""Yessir!""Then remember that smell, because you'll need it later," Taro replied ominiously.Three bodies lay dead in the trail, the ground under them red with blood. They'd been killed in a rather brutal manner, which was evidenced rather clearly. "C'mon, Ork, let's get the other two and call for a platoon to mop them up.""Yessir."

IC: "Oh no, there are things living here." Ara'kas said, a hint of pride in her voice. This was her home region, and it wasn't just a wasteland. "If you live this close to an active volcano, this happens. Everything that lives here is either fast enough to hide, or tough enough to survive."

IC: NikaronNikaron nodded his head sadly, "Yes, much like the Matoran," he said in agreement with Ara'kas, "for if you are unable to do one or another, you are crushed. That is the cruel world we live in, the world I aim to change." Nikaron's eyes hardened, he would make sure Makuta would pay. For the Matoran.

IC (Avya) (The Road to Ta-Koro)At first, I didn't really believe Ara-kas. How could anything live in this wasteland? But after walking a little longer, I began to notice things I hadn't before. Small insects skittered over the black rocks, popping in and out of miniscule crevices. The charred trees had gray-green lichens growing around their roots, thin and straggly, but tough. Here and there I could see faintly glowing craters that shimmered with heat, attracting small, quick, almost invisible Rahi. No, this Wahi wasn't dead; here existed a different kind of life than in Ga-Wahi. Those creatures that scratched out a living her were hard and tough, and I admired them for that. I estimated that this erosive environment, ethically equivocal by nature, seemed escalatingly evil enough to be the epitome of everything that evocated, equated or entailed an early, eternal end to existence for any erasable entity, and yet there was still life here.I emerged from my thoughts to notice a tall hill, or perhaps a mountain, appearing in the distance. Tall and black, save for the glowing top, it spewed forth orange light and smoke into the gray sky. We were perhaps a mile away: the road seemed to lead directly to this volcano.I hazarded a guess. "Is that Ta-Koro?"

IC(Tairel)

Amidst the chaos, Tairel was writing down a letter for the people in the hospital. It read the following:

Dear Riaril, and all you other Brakas's,

I'm going to find Ayra and bury Ga'mal. I can't work under the stress of them and need to finish my duties there. I'll be back some time, but don't expect me to be back soon. I wish you all the best of luck, and may Mata-Nui guide you all.

IC: One of the few things Taro hated about the guard was the time it took to get reinforcements outside the walls. Unless freakin' Makuta was outside the walls, it took about a hour for them to get to off their butts and get to the forest.Meeting with the First Lieutenent in charge of the platoon, Taro explained to his superior the bodies' location. The platoon of guards marched out into the the forest.Walking with his temporary squad back to the village, Tarotrix's booted foot hit a rock. With a sharp crack his ankle broke. Cursing, he ordered the Privates to carry him to the hospital.
