Tea-rex
Personally, I grew up wit the mahritoran/Av Torah, land the Av Toran are actually quite cool looking Matoran in my mind. But, I do have to give some credit to the mc/03 Torah. So, its a draw between Mctoran and Av toran, with 03toran coming up second. justin_verceles
I like how all of the builds for the Voya Nui Matoran were indivisually unique. Quote justin_verceles
Ragnar Lothbrok
McToran were cute and we all have a soft spot for the little fellas, but the Voyatoran were different, quirky and inventive, something that we didnt see much of in the small sets afterwards. Mahritoran were okay, but there wasn't many of them and their armour was far too big for them. Quote Twitter: @enkindle_this
bioniclepluslotr
I wish they made Matoran like they used to. The recent ones are so simplified.
justin_verceles
I wish they made Matoran like they used to. The recent ones are so simplified. I know right. I hated the Agori builds that they used for the Matoran. Of course, I guess you have to cut the av-matoran some slack, given that Lego might've had to do that so they could ride on the backs of the Toa Nuva. But still, they were like 11 pieces. Voltex
Voya-Nui Matoran all the way. I loved their builds and the multitude of simple ways you could experiment with them to come out with new results; each of them unique but at the same time still similar enough to link together. Toa of Gallifrey
Mahritoran. Really solid design and believable as a template for non-Metru Nui Matoran. Voyatoran come second for creativity, though.
FallenCor
The Metrutoran for me. I prefer the straightened posture; plus, I liked the chest piece that was used, and the disk-launchers were a neat addition. Definitely the template I would use for designing fan-characters. Tattorack
Hard choice.I like both the medically engineered versions from Mask of Light and the medically Karzahni'd versions of Voya Nui. Side note:I still find it very hard to imagine McDonalds selling Matorans XDOver here the ones you refer to as McTorans were sold in teensy weensy carton boxes beside Turaga on toy shop counters. Toatapio Nuva
The Moltoran, which I call Kolhii Matoran, have always been the standard form of Matoran in my mind, and the type I appreciate the most. I love the Mctoran as well, but the Kolhii Matoran are more versatile and have greater playability. Sad-Machine
Ill have to say the mahrtoran they looked like they could defend themselves which suits them very well as they had no toa or turaga to protect them.I alos really like the MoL matoran as well and the tohunga as well they have a villager aspect to them. Wazdakka
I voted for Voyatoran a while ago, but now I realized - the Stars line was basically glorified Av-Matoran, and they are probably the best small sets we've ever gotten, so the Av-Matoran build is actually quite viable when given a little bit more thought and uniqueness. Jacks
I'm basically torn between the McToran, the MoLtoran, the Voyatoran, and the Mahritoran. Toa Green Ninja
The best design were the McToran/Tohunga, simply due to nostalgia. Oh, and 100TH POST! Quote "We didn't lose the battle. Vartemp
MahToran. I actually needed the building instructions to build them, and they had an overall interesting design. Quote "Don't criticize what you can't understand." — Bob Dylan
Mr. Cup of Fail
My favorite is the Voya Nui Matoran because even that 5 of the matoran uses the Bohrok feet, this is the first when they aren't just copy of them self with different mask and recolor and have the same weapon (beside Velika and Garan almost). Mr. Cup of Fail
Ya but it would be pretty cool if Kopeke still had his sand blue Komau in the 2003 Matoran sets. Nidhiki of the Shadows
Funny. I was just thinking to myself yesterday - "Man, those MoLtoran were very nicely designed". The proportions, the similarities to the McToran... Everything about them was great! And I never had one. Definitely my favourite design though, and having the gearbox implemented was a huge plus. -NotS
Mr. Cup of Fail
I only gotten one of them on BrickLink and that was Hafu but sadly I don't remember getting any of the McToran. OnuaNut
I'm very fond of the McToran, but my favorite Matoran design is definitely the MoL era Matoran. Gear functions, articulation and that early Bionicle style really set them apart for me. I always hoped Onepu and Kongu would get updated.
