strange umarak upgrade?

if you go to the pohatu toa of stone video and pause it right at0:04 and 0:05 you can see umarak with the skull villain torso armor on his hands and different horns is this just for netflix or what?

At first, I thought you were talking about the Skull Warrior that was briefly seen getting smacked offscreen by Pohatu. But after slowing it down, I see what you mean. In all other shots of him, he looks normal. But this is strange... I could understand them upgrading his antlers to look a little more realistically shaped. But I have no explanation for the purple ribcage. Perhaps Umarak has some sort of armory somewhere that he uses to outfit himself for different purposes. That's the best I can come up with until we actually see the show.

 

But it's interesting to notice that those pieces are also present on Onua's shoulders... Perhaps Umarak stole them and is using them for extra protection?

Someone on Facebook suggested that it might be some sort of combi model that hasn't been released yet. The purple Skull armor is also used on Onua, and considering we're only one month into the year and haven't seen a single combi model, it's entirely possible that we might see some in media before actually getting instructions.

hmm that is a cool theory though i can imagine that like he steals armerr from all the toa, wears the mask of control and becomes Umarak the destroyer it would make sense due to Umarak the destroyer build

My theory, and I don't often have those for storyline. Well we knew Umarak is getting a transformation later this year, so my theory is it was a mid-transformation type of thing, like a slow one. Another theory, well it states he is trying to steal the elemental creatures powers, so maybe this is him succeeding in someway?

 

But really, I honestly don't care, I'll wait to find out when the show comes out in february, instead of wasting my time of theories. Instead I'm going to waste my time on marveling at the all-powerful Akida, Flying Shark with Freakin Gatling Guns on it's back!

I think its Umarak using his "Dark Powers" to be stronger as he is getting punched so much by the Toa.

If you watch the second Netflix trailer, Umarak actually appears to summon in several 'elemental clones' of himself, when Gali says "he's using the elements against us!" I would imagine this is one of his abilities, something to do with him uniting with the creatures or possibly (though rather unlikely) he uses the mask of control to control the elements, though I doubt he'd have it by this point in the episodes (presumably he gets it at the end of ep2) so this last theory is probably wrong.

Maybe this is him whilst he's "birthing" a shadow trap? And reassembled his horns, ripped Onua's shoulder pads off and applied them to his arms?!!??! WAT!?!?

And with it, an explanation. Umarak sends out three of these "Newmaraks" during the second episode. They appear to be Shadow minions of Umarak, summoned by him to distract the Toa. Interesting indeed.

Is is just me that's noticed the shadow trap claws? What I think happens is he has multiple forms, and this is his animal form. We usaully see him in a hunter form.

I made this topic a long time ago and then i didn't know about his

magic shadow clone things

but i think they are really cool if only they could fix that voice it would make the character as good as his powers, btw at first i thought you sig was punisher, then i thought it spider-man noir then i realized it was only call of duty ghost.
