For those who will likely ask when reading some of my non-RP posts: for me, "*shot*' = "I know that what I said was something stupid and I am acknowledging this before people think I'm serious."

Oh yeah, and my current BZPRPG character bio can be found here.

"Why...me? Oh yeah, that's right. I'm weak. I'm of a minority, a minority of people with a common trait: we hear too much. And what we're supposed to hear hurts to hear. When I'm alone in a silent room, I can hear a pebble dropping from a mile away. I can hear a motor boat being started up several yards off the coast. A whisper from outside, I can hear as if they were talking right at me. An explosion in another koro, I hear as if it's just outside. Sounds useful, right?"

"Wrong."

"It's a curse, if you ask me. The same pen dropping inside this aforementioned silent room would ring in my ears. If I stood by the same motor, I'd get a headache. The same whisper would ring in my ear like two metal beams being slammed together in front of my face. The same explosion would render me deaf for years...thank the Spirit I thought of getting me something to dampen the noise, or I'd end up like the rest of my kind..."

I figured, based on the only two main take-away theories as a result of that image being INCREDIBLY stupid. I didn't want to come out and say that in my post for fear of over-sensative BZPRPGers coming after my head in the middle of the night....Not that there are any of those kinds of people here, just kinda paranoid after what happened the LAST time I voiced my opinions XD

Um.Well, technically, you'd just go in and apply. Unless he has some serious issues, he'd just have to fill out some forms, et cetera et cetera. Then he'd be sent to join one of the various squadrons, or regiments. There are a few Ussalry specific quirks, so if you have a question, feel free to PM me or Mango. Mango's the big Ussalry guy, but I know enough of the basics to answer most questions.

Um.

Erm.

What does he go by these days....

He's the one with the ever-changing names. Mango, Pein, Armadijo, Joshua Chamberlain, Mr. Chocolate.... The guy who plays Sulov.

EDIT: Mr. Peanuts. That's what he goes by now.

If only the Ga-Koro Marines were so relatively simple and speedy to get into *sigh* [insert indication of a sarcastic smirk here]

!!! Update !!!

Due to personal IRL reasons, I will be taking a leave of absence from the BZPRPG (and BZP in general). Any canon RPing or species requests should go to Nuju Metru or Friar Tuck. Fortunately, most of my big characters's arcs are finished. It's just the Cultured Gentry arc that will be held up.

I don't know how long I'll be gone, but I will be checking my inbox from time to time. I know some other people will require interaction with my characters in the future, once we get to that bridge, just send me a PM and I'll decide what to do then.

Thanks for your understanding.

You’re the boss of this operation."

Every military is easy to get into, just like the ones on real life.

(Not NK. Those guys force you in unless you get olympic gold)

You go to a recruitment booth, sign a sheet of paper, do some physical tests, if you pass you're in.

For some reason, though, everybody in this game who decides to join the military not only doesn't seem to realize things like recruitment booths exist, and furthermore have to ask to get in the military.

I know this isn't real life, but how often do you get the chance of going to a military general, say 'Please may I join the military' and actually, you know, get in that way instead of being sent right out to the recruitment centers - or just straight up banned?

It, like, confuses me. Especially since you don't need another PC's 'accept' note.....(Unless you have a history)

For the record, I didn't ask. It was suggested to me (both IC and OOC) by an existing Marine after aiding him in one of his rounds. The problem is, the Turaga kinda got assassinated about 24 hours ago (in-game time), and by the time I reached the HQ, the only person who could officially recruit me and/or administer a physical test of sorts was running the funeral procession.Hence, the sarcastically sighed "If only the Marines were that easy to get into". Just felt like clarifying there.

Alright, I'm headed out for the weekend.

I will hopefully be back on Sunday. No one's really waiting on me for RPing so I'm sure it will be fine. Later guys!

Every military is easy to get into, just like the ones on real life.

Except the guard organizations in the game are not militaries. They are police forces, defense brigades, trusted lawmen, not army soldiers.

It's true that many posts describe guardsmen as "soldiers" and the guard orgs as "military" (take Reordin and the Ussalry as examples, respectively) but those are not entirely accurate are entirely subjective to the character and group they are about. You have to be hired to be a policeman, not recruited.

There are no recruitment booths for guard groups on Mata Nui.

They are paramilitary organisations made up of NPCs. Not exactly military but not your average police-force either.

And as for why you need to be hired: The whole island is suddenly filled with powered beings of often dubious allegiance. If random Toa come around and want into your guard all of a sudden, how can they be sure these people are not trying to A: Infiltrate the guard or undermine them; or B: Just join for the sake of having that sort of authority.

The thing is, they're rarely treated as a serious force unless it becomes convenient.

I see you point, Veef. It's an issue I noted with the ILF. Too lenient on their recruiting. It's a wonder no servant of Makuta has joined them yet.

You do realize that the ILS' original beginnings were to gain power and influence, and that Madrihk is Neutral/Evil, right?

They are the bad guys.

Yeah.

Drae, I've got some bad news for you. Madrihki was a villain, Voriki was a villain, and ninety percent of the original ILS members were neutral at best.

Heck, their status as "Good" is questionable even now.
