Back in about a week or two full time. If C.I.R.C.L.E. voting should, somehow, come up, I'll be missing.

The time is NOW! We must unite in creative awesome against the evils of the Empress. On our side we have the powers of love and creativity. On theirs they only have darkness and chaos. No, this is not Lego Universe! This is real, and we must conquer!

This post will be the new headquarters for the rebellion. An organized force that is for peace and love. Our next step should be to assert dominion over the Creative Outlet, then we need to slowly extend our forces throughout the Incarnations. All is not lost yet! If you have any ideas for how we can crush the Empress, feel free to post here.

If you wish to declare yourself for the rebellion, sign your name here. Show them that not even Puffins can crush the might of BZPower, the might of the creative soul.

  3. The fire that was threatening my local area is mostly contained. Actually it has been for two weeks or so. Evacuation orders are probably almost entirely lifted by now except for some small area. So that's mostly good. It did not come without losses for many people, though.

But it's California, and we're a box of matches when it comes down to it. Hotspot detection satellites are lighting up the state like a Christmas tree. That's why even though we (folks in my area) aren't being immediately threatened by fires, we're still breathing near toxic air, ash is falling down like a light sprinkle of snow, and everything looks like Las Vegas from Blade Runner 2049 (which, not fun fact, the look was inspired by this very phenomenon). And many, many people are still being threatened by fires.

And we aren't even in fire season yet. October is when we start to see stronger winds, when things can get really bad. But, then, at this rate, what will be left to burn?

What a miserable end of summer.

    Rejoice! It's up, people.

Just noticed this is my 100th entry as well. A suitable occasion to announce a contest as well as start off a new year of blogging.

Life's been a whirlwind of some kind of magnitude, but I've been up in Canada successfully working toward my PhD. Poutine is amazing.

Even more amazing than mashed potatoes in french fry form is that after having started a relationship and working toward a life together, Aanchir (Skye) proposed on Valentine's Day! It's been an incredible feeling - warm, peaceful, and also how I end up just beaming like a dork when I get to say "my fiancée" in conversation at school and everywhere, really.

We don't have a specific time fixed for the wedding yet, since Skye's going to get everything in place to move up here permanently in place first, but consider: LEGOLAND wedding.

Well, I haven't been on this website in almost a year, and I haven't been on this blog in almost two years. All of the people I know from this place are probably gone.

    :(

    Well, LOL I guess?

After much thinking, I feel this should be known. For the last month, I've been in a romantic relationship with former bloggie Kohaku. We've known each other for ten years and it's been a heck of a time. Why it took me so long to realize this, despite all I have done for him, isn't important.

What -is- important, is that, like I have for so long, love him very much and I hope and know this will lead to great things going on!

  12. This is what I've written as part of a paper (essay format, supposedly) that I'm turning in tomorrow. Honest to goodness, word for word.

Consider the effectiveness of the movie in communicating its message. As a tool of communication, what are its strengths and weaknesses?

The film is quite effective in communicating its message. It scares people into germophobia and educates them on the worst-case scenario. Its strengths include fake blood, crying children, scared families, desperation, death (all of which are very good for getting people to relate to the film on an emotional level for more effective inundation), an old friend who is haunted by past wrongs, a helicopter chase, and explosions. Its weaknesses include not enough footage of gory disease, making the gullible audience think that an antivirus can be isolated, created, and distributed to an entire town in less than a day, and not enough explosions.

  13. My unexplained absence may have caused one to think that I no longer even cared about my blog. Well one would be wrong.

May I just say, thank you to the BZP admins for giving this feature to everyone, because I like it. A lot. XD

    ....

Man I wish I could reset my rating. :P Some people just like to hate.

Well anyway, as this is my first blog entry in a number of unaccounted months, I would like the shout out about the most exciting non-political-related happening since my last entry:

    HAIRSPRAY!!!!!!!

    hairspray-poster-750.jpg

Oh my gosh, this is DEFINITELY the best movie ever. If you haven't seen it already, go see it now, it owns beyond belief.

    Moving on to other stuff:

I don't know if any of you guys watch the Daily Show. It's a political show on Comedy Central-- thus, we should not really be discussing it here. However, I must say that I was watching it one day and something caught my eye: Barack Obama ringtones!!!!!!!!

This is perhaps the strangest political campaign I have heard about in my life. If you go to BarackObama.com, you can download 7 ringtones and 4 wallpapers for your mobile phone. I'll go low enough to admit that I did, indeed, download all 7 of the ringtones, and that I am currently using one of the ringtones and one of the wallpapers. Most of the ringtones are just fragments of his more well-known speeches, but the first one is what I like the best. It can be simply described just by giving the lyrics:

"Go, Go, Go, Obama, Obama - OHHHH!!!! Go, Go, Go, Obama, Obama"

And you thought you'd seen weird.

Well, that's about all I have to say for today. Remember when discussing the last item of interest to keep it down to a dull roar, not actually turning this this topic into a political discussion, because I can be sure that a Moderator will be here to close the topic promptly if you choose not to abide by BZP rules.

    ThanK - yA.

  14. It's funny how three years ago, hardly anyone knew about the Guardians of the Galaxy and nobody expected it to be a hit. And now I just saw Geico, Hanes, and Ford all run commercials about them. Groot was hanging out with the Gecko and underwear will help you save the universe.

    Hollywood is weird.

  15. Wow. Just wow.

That movie is amazing. Go see it now. It was better than the first.

I'm still getting over it; it was incredible.

    Like, seriously... amazing.

BZP is seriously how boring as a site can be.

Especially because no one cares about the stuff you make.

I even bet this rant won't get any comments. :annoyed2:

I've got a bit of a procrastination problem. For example, I have a series of exams starting tomorrow, important exams, and yet, here I am.

I can't shake it. I was determined this morning to write some essays and prepare for the English exam, but here we are at 6:30 PM and I've only done a bit of coding all day. I've managed to procrastinate despite very slow internet and stopping myself going on the more time-sinking websites. It's quite an achievement really.

I suppose I could possibly get something done in the hours before I go to bed (early, because I want a good night's sleep beforehand). But then, I don't want to.

Why can't I just go to university now and write apps while learning things I want to and doing work I enjoy? I'm definitely clever enough to go, I've done a uni course before and passed with minimal effort.

That's definitely a first world problem, though. I'm not enjoying my free, high-quality education. I want to spend my time telling advanced miniature computers what to do instead.

I used to love school, then they made my worst and least-favourite subject the most important and only compulsory one. I, and probably the entire country at this point, need to know how to use computers far more than I need to know how to identify themes and techniques. That's a whole other blog post, though.

A simple 1 year course in welding covering the most used process and a couple other subjects and I'm done, now to work on a resume and get my foot in the door.

Planning to start small and build up my skillset and then move on up to better positions/jobs, a far off goal could be pipeline work with my own small side shop doing request work for repairs or art people would want.

Dunno where this field will take me but I'll make sure to try to enjoy it and learn more things along the way.

More ideas down the line but gotta buy my own Tig machine first.
