  1. Here's a question. "What do you value most in a person?" Pretty straightforward question. What do you value most in a person? Is it kindness? Intelligence? Morals? What is it? For me it's honesty. I completely lose trust in a person if they're dishonest in a negative way. So what about you? What do you value most in a person? ~Soran
  2. Proof that robots can get tired. Astro Boy. ~Soran
  3. All this time I've been calling you "Laredios the Hip Historian," I just now realized it's not a lowercase L but a capital I. No idea how to pronounce your name now. Interesting perspective. I've never seen an anime character with the name, I just chose it because of the pun. ~Soran
  4. I assume it's concept art for BIONICLE. It looks like Onewa's head on Pohatu's body running around in the desert. ಠ_ಠ ~Soran
  5. New Comic To-do List Don't mess with Mal. Also, reference. And Orange is the New Black. At least you can still see a bright side to the situation. Correct. He cannot naturally morph into a Toa. He could possess a Toa's body but he cannot become one himself. I mean, they could reconstruct his body as a toa and give that body artificial powers to emulate a toa, but I guess that wouldn't be the same... Anyway, how dare you assume Oko can paint? I mean, he can, quite well in fact, but still! You are correct, they could reconstruct the body or give him a new body or he could even possess an actual toa or titan or whatever but it's not something that'll be convenient for anyone. He wouldn't be able to fit in the chairs. Also, I assumed Oko would have some degree of artistic ability. Most chefs I've found do. I don't get the reference. I was tempted to actually roast you during this reply but I felt that would be too mean. #Sorry Nah, I don't think I'm going to upgrade any characters to Toa. It just doesn't run with my general theme of comics, where Matoran have as great potential to be heroes or villains as Toa. That'd be interesting. It's not going to happen but it'd certainly be interesting. Glad you guys enjoyed the comic, ~Soran
  6. Here's a question: "What have you forgotten?" Simple question. Everyone has someone or something they have forgotten. What's yours? I don't remember mine. So what about you? What have you forgotten? ~Soran
  7. I'm so happy I didn't inherit my mother's dylsixea.

  8. If home is where the heart is and you have heart burn, is that considered arson?

  9. And that's the point of the question, it's to make you think. What identifies you as a person? Is it your hobbies, your personality, your emotions, or your logic? Maybe it's all of those, but if so then what parts? --------- I don't expect everyone to be brilliant wordsmiths, capable of describing themselves in a manner that illustrates their conscious being. Some people have superb self-awareness while others do not. Not to mention that these same people may not even have great writing skills to be able to further explain their findings. The point though is to try to come up with some sort of answer, whether you answer it here or you just answer it to yourself. Think of it like preparation. Essentially the question is, "Tell me about yourself." It's a very common question in relationships, whether they're romantic or platonic. When someone asks that you're not just going to say, "Well, I'm tall, I've got light hair... blue eyes..." or whatever, as they can obviously see that (unless they're blind). It's something that I feel like everyone should have some grasp on, the things that make you, you. I know that some people will simply scoff at this, whether it's actual members or simply guests viewing this entry. They may find it to be unimportant or too philosophical. It wouldn't surprise me, many people don't enjoy reflecting on themselves whether it be for fear of ego, lack of it, or something else entirely. It's still a concept that I implore more people to do as it helps with your self-awareness, it helps you to be able to realize just how you are seen by others and perhaps may inspire some people to change their ways if need be. As I said before, I'm not expecting too many people to reply to this entry. Especially since it's one of the "longer" ones that doesn't have an immediate answer. But perhaps that's why I'm asking it, why isn't it an immediate answer? When I was younger I used to know exactly who I was but as I got older it started to get more complex. But it doesn't have to be complex, life itself truly isn't. We just make it so. So that is my point. The idea of self-awareness in my opinion can be an important asset in your life and I urge more people to be able to identify with who they are as a person. To truly know themselves based off of the one advantage they have over others knowing them, which is their thoughts. TLDR: How can you help yourself if you don't know yourself, unless you don't want to know yourself in which case that's cool too. ~Soran
  10. Tuesday: The third day of the week. What a trick.

Tuesday sounds like "Two's day," like the number. It's a play on the fact that despite sounding like the number 2, it's the third (3) day of the week, thus the name is a misnomer.

It's derived from "Toes-day", so clearly it's about toes.

  11. Here's a question. "How would you describe yourself?" I think it's an interesting question so to speak. Many of you know who you are but you may not be able to properly put who you are into words. I know that I have trouble describing the type of person I am. This question is of course asking about describing your character and not your physical appearance. I would say that I'm a calculated person, I think quickly and I'm rather imaginative. My mind often works faster than my mouth does which can make it troubling for me to properly explain concepts to people face to face while over text it's normally much easier for me. I've always found myself to be a creative person and often times I'm working on a concept of some kind in my head. I'm normally mindful of people and I try to empathize with whatever events or situations are going on in their life. I also am very quick to make connections which might otherwise not exist, which can be detrimental to situations I encounter. I value honesty and respectfulness and I overall try to be a decent person in life. So what about you? How would you describe yourself? ~Soran
  12. New Comic Mixing Up Paint The irony of the last panel's background. Well it's not like he wasn't from the beginning of the season. Correct. He cannot naturally morph into a Toa. He could possess a Toa's body but he cannot become one himself. I could see that excuse working. It is a nice color but I'd rather the traditional. Spooky scary Ghostbusters (I'm sorry I have no dignity) They assume it's busted. All their readings pointed to Soran who they assumed was sick, which would mean logically that it must be busted. It's fine, I lost mine a while ago. Glad you guys enjoyed the comic, ~Soran
  13. Well I'm glad to be one of the few people you've seen to properly understand the definition of grammar . To answer your question, I'm outlining a science fiction book series. Conlanging was something I was going to avoid for the longest time because I knew full-well just how many factors went into it, so I created a situation in my series where everyone spoke English as a second language. Interestingly enough, it's BZPower that got me to change that approach, because enough people thought that I was being anglocentric and xenophobic. Since that accusation hurt, I've decided that the aliens in my series are going to speak their own languages — although I've decided that if I was going to go in that direction, I was going to go all out. I'm going to have characters speak them in the books, and I'm going to write poetry for these languages. This is also sort of a reaction to the realization that my books will never be adapted into movies with John Williams scores. My way of looking at it is that if I can't give my works the universal language (music), then I'll make up for it by creating a universe of languages. 24601 I wouldn't say that it would be impossible to adapt the story into a movie based around language. They could easily put subtitles or showcase more visual body language to showcase an idea of what's being said. If it can happen with foreign films I wouldn't be surprised if it would work with something of this concept. That is, unless your story revolves heavily on first-person narrative in which case I would say that would be a lot harder to adapt. I'm honestly surprised to hear you say science fiction as that wasn't what I was assuming at all when I had asked. Normally when I think of constructed language I imagine fantasy, with such examples such as the elvish language so to see that it's going to be sci-fi is interesting in that regard and frankly, it makes a lot of sense. Especially with the perspective of it being related to aliens and alien culture. Which yields the question to how much culture you would then be putting into the story, especially in regards to aliens. I know that certain languages have restricted or different constructions that make poetry, wordplay, slang and other such factors unique so it makes me curious as to how much history and culture you're going to try to delve into in regards to your alien race. Regardless of that though, it definitely sounds like an interesting project. May I ask how far along you are? Anyway, I wish you good luck with your work. ~Soran

  19. Sounds like an interesting project. I'm curious why the desire to construct a new language though, it seems like an odd project to partake in. Is it for some sort of world building or just out of boredom? Also, this is one of the first instances I've seen where "Grammar Nazi" was actually used for grammar and not spelling. ~Soran
  20. Here's a question: "Which myth would you bring to life?" I think it's an interesting concept. There's various myths and folklore that tell some interesting stories or result in some interesting events or creatures. From some mythical creatures such as Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster to mythical locations such as Atlantis or El Dorado. There's various types of myths or folklore which would seem interesting to bring to life. I think for me I'd probably pick the tales of King Arthur. I think the events of it seem interesting to me and I'd love for them to be true. What about you? Which myth would you bring to life? ~Soran
  21. Had to look up what that was. I'm mainly trying for general questions that most people would be able to give an answer for. ~Soran
