  1. I think the new Bionicle sets are far more impressive than HF sets, at least in my opinion. They're continuing the IFB concept of large figure and small opponent, but with the added bonus that the small opponent (now skull spiders) can take over another large figure, making for a battle between two full-sized sets before the villain wave is even out yet. They've added great functions as well, with the knock off masks and gears. And all the weapons have dual functions, another plus. While the Toa lack any of the many incarnations of Zamor launchers from over the years, the Protectors make up for it with their Gatling guns. In terms of media, Bionicle is set to totally outdo HF with myriad beautiful animations. Basically, the new Bionicle has a lot going for it which HF even at its best never did. I think we may see some sadness that Hero Factory is gone, but hopefully it will be well mitigated by the awesomeness of its successor.
  2. If they aren't transformed, though, then what does that leave for future lines, throughout 2016 and 2017 and even beyond? Either a) a new team replacing them, and transformations are preferable to me at least, or b) no heroes released those years, which seems ludicrous, as after a year or so the original Masters are not likely to be available and thus anyone who missed them in 2015 is out of luck, and unlikely to get into a franchise which is without heroes. It's also worth noting that transformations don't have to increase power, necessarily. They can also specialize heroes for circumstances they were previously unsuited to. For example, the Mahri or 3.0 heroes were not more powerful than their previous incarnations, but were more suited to their respective environments.
  3. Granted, you go on a quest to find staff, and it ends when you find Black Six and he bans you. I wish everyone was wearing plaid.
  4. IC: Jayar / The Library Jayar finished transcribing Hoto's essay and breathed out, relieved. Hoto had indeed developed a strategy entirely different than his own. "I will remember that," Jayar said. He rolled up the paper and handed it to her. "Here you go. If you need any help with the next one I'll be glad to assist."
  5. Tren Krom Swapped minds with the above
  6. IC: Jayar / The Library Hoto's excited voice snapped Jayar out of a state of almost trance-like concentration. Despite unselectively throwing all his ideas onto a piece of paper, he had come up with only the obvious: have the Suukorak baracade the already obtrusive terrain. He decided he would just have to go with it - he didn't have all day. Hopefully, though, Hoto had come up with something unique. He didn't want to be accused of plagiarism. "Sure,"Jayar said. He grabbed a clean sheet of paper and prepared to transcribe Hoto's essay. "Go ahead and dictate, and I'll write it down just as you say it."
  7. Granted, you have access to one Lego gear with which to produce music. However, because it's just you hitting stuff with your Lego gear, no one likes it much. I wish I was king of ducks.
  8. Just for future reference, would it have been metagaming if he had noticed it without us telling him?
  9. I don't believe he specified turning it in. He could have Raptor notice his mistake before doing so and write another essay.
  10. Omega won't be beaten in the infirmary, at least while Palma is around, and after that, he's at least as powerful as Exxan. Why are your afraid for him?
  11. Granted, you move to Soviet Russia and they get you, and torture you in cruel and nefarious ways. I wish for a Velcro-compatible hamster.
  12. I don't know. I think it's a guideline (for some people's sake I hope it's a guideline, several have been at least three.) Probably if you need more to accurately describe your plan it will be accepted.
  13. IC: Jayar / The Library "No problem," he replied. It was a small difficulty compared to blindness. He turned to his book, on the geography of the Tren Krom peninsula. It was quite hazardous, with acid falls, spikes, and the like. Clearly not a fun place to invade with a large, inflexible force such as Kalmah was likely to muster. The obvious solution was obvious and as such unappealing, at least unless Jayar could put a spin on it no one else had thought of, and that was unlikely. No, he thought, the winning response would be an effective one that not only his competition had not conceived of, but the assignment's creator. Clearly Suvak had an answer in mind for each of these, but if one could develop a strategy even he had not perceived, it would be indeed impressive. Of course, it was easier said than done. Jayar spread all three books - one on Visorak Suukorak, one on Kalmah, and one on the Tren Krom Peninsula - in front of him, and began to think.
  14. Yeah Ultron said we'd probably have a week or so RL to finish. It was just given yesterday. So you've got plenty of time.
  15. @Toa of Dancing The assignment is to write up a paragraph describing what your character would do for two of give given scenarios, described on page 113. Fang and Omega have leveled up after being mauled by angry Matoran on the mainland. That's about it. @Roman/Gukko Lord He could have Raptor look over it and facepalm at his stupid mistake and rewrite the essay in another post.
  16. Gukko Lord, you do realize telekinesis is moving objects with your mind, right? Not reading minds, which is telepathy? Raptor's plan seems to revive around the Steltian reading his followers' minds.
  17. IC: Jayar / The Library "I don't have a book on him. Let me go get one." Jayar reentered the maze of bookshelves, homing in on a book about Kalmah. He grabbed it, and a book on Matoran craftsmanship. It was vital to an idea he had. He also went ahead and acquired a free sheets of paper and a quill. Returning to the table, he deposited his gathering in the middle and flipped open the book detailing Kalmah to the table of contents, then the Traits section. "Here we are... 'Cold and ruthless,' 'excels at showing little emotion,'" Jayar read. He flipped back to the table of contents, then to the section on the composition of his army. "'Kalmah was unconcerned with what species his soldiers were. As a result, he amassed an army of most anyone he could hire,'" he read. "It goes on to mention Skakdi, rogue Toa, and many other obscure species. Even some Matoran." He could practically see Hoto thinking. He was thinking as well, of course. He flipped open the book on the geography of the Northern Continent, then a section on the Tren Krom peninsula.
  18. IC: Jayar / The Library "That would be... The campaign, and the prince, right?" Hoto nodded. "So you'll need information on Suukorak, and the geography of the Tren Krom peninsula. Let's start by grabbing a desk." He lead Hoto over to a secluded table next to one wall of the library, where he deposited the three books he'd already grabbed. "I've already got a book on Visorak," he said, flipping open to chapter five: Suukorak, and reading the first paragraph. For the purposes of this assignment, it should be plenty of information: it told of their Rhotuka power (to create a shrinking electrical field around a target), their skill as tacticians, and ability to slow their life processes to almost zero. The rest of the chapter was as needlessly detailed as one would expect from such a thick tome, explaining everything from the mechanics of the life-slowing to the sayings of the great Suukorak philosophers.
  19. IC: Jayar / The Library "Of course. It's the least I could do. What are you looking for?"
  20. (Sorry I didn't wish for anything) Granted, but it's a giant squid, and it eats you. I wish fossiliferous was a more commonly used word.
  21. IC: Jayar / The Library Hoto walked off. Jayar felt bad for her - a writing assignment was not going to be easy on her. He looked over the scenarios. They were difficult situations indeed, requiring research and resourcefulness. Jayar immediately began gathering books - one on Visorak, one on the geography of the Northern Continent, another on Frostelus. His search brought him between two almost claustrophobic bookcases, where he found Hoto sitting back, forlorn. "Hey," he said, "if you need any help with anything, you can ask me."
  22. It occurs to me that for this assignment, our role-playing characters are role-playing.
  23. Granted, but your sleep schedule randomly adjusts when you don't want it to and you find yourself unable to sleep until 2AM the night before something important.
  24. IC: Jayar / The Library Phogen missing? Good. Unless of course it was up to some devious plan. Aloud Jayar held out his hand for the vacuum Rahkshi to shake and said, "Exxan. An honor to meet you in circumstances less embarrassing for me than last time." OOC: last post for tonight
