  1. I would have actually bought some Mixels if sets in later waves featured more points of articulation. Those smaller ball joints had some neat potential. While I wouldn't miss the theme if it did go away, it'd be nice to see that pieces used just as frequently.
  2. This actually looks better than a lot of the big edgy things people entered the contest with. I've always been a fan of average sized MOCs since they often have more cohesive designs and I think you did a really good job with Makuta's design here.
  3. I believe Pohaturon is trying to say it may have been the sternum. While this map might not be entirely accurate, I think it supports what Pohaturon is saying.
  4. I feel like we might have gotten this if G2 carried on past its originally planned three year run. On topic, I actually liked G2 as far as the sets went. Though I never kept up with story due to how childish the 2015 animations seemed to me. I was wasn't a fan of how the story was told or the focus put on Tahu. Though the only thing I would have really changed, or rather added, was something akin to MNOLG for Okoto and more CG animations. Better marketing would have also helped the theme's success tremendously.
  5. Thanks. Is it the System slopes on the shoulders that make it look hunched? For the lighting, I just used a couple of LED box lights which came with attachable dispersion filters in clear white and clear orange. One light has the white filters attached and the other has the orange filters. Then I just experimented with the placement of the lights until I got something good. (The background is just a big piece of grey card.)I also added some subtle photo editing - mostly reducing the contrast so that the white light reflecting off the hand on the left wasn't so harsh.(I used a similar lighting setup for my Manas build.)I think it might be the slopes, but it could be how the head attaches to the Tohunga body. I'm not too sure. Those lights sound like something I should look into then. Do you have a brand name or something that I could use to look the lights up? I only use a basic LED flashlight and a bit of photo editing for my pictures. It works, but after a while my pictures started looking really similar and I want to break away from that old style. Thank you!
  6. 2/5 I know you by avatar and name.
  7. I'm acutally jealous I can't build this myself. This is a neat model! The CCBS and original Tohunga torso work together pretty well, but I will say that the figure looks a bit hunched over. You really capture the feel of MNOLG Makuta through your photography though. That's probably my favorite thing about this picture, honestly. You've got to teach me how to do that.
  8. Never seen any full scans. I have seen pictures of the first issue and its gift set (Skull Scorpion) on the Brickset Forums (German edition, UK edition).I don't think I've seen any photos of Issue 2 yet, though I know some people have managed to build Agil (Ekimu's Falcon) from the preview pics in Issue 1.Mainly interested in seeing Agil, but I was also pretty curious about the whole magazine. Sadly, I can't see those images because I don't have an account at that site.
  9. A Fabuland Chima reboot might be pretty neat somewhere down the line. I always enjoyed the unique pieces that the theme put out. Customising my own animal was also very fun since the theme sort of had a thing for unreasonably large minifigure weapons and such.
  10. I hadn't even noticed this before. Smaller less blocky torso shell gives me hope for characters with thinner profiles, like Sabine. C'mon, Rebels constraction figures! If I recall correctly Black Six didn't notice it in his video either, heh. A less blocky torso is something I've wanted in CCBS for a while now. Having one opens up a lot of options for slimmer characters in MOCs. Could be built similar to Makuta Icarax's spinning shield? Forearm construction might end up being a little weird though.
  11. Jyn is the only one that has a decent color scheme, so she'll probably be the only one of these that I pick up. I have to agree with Black Six though; I dislike the hat that's a part of her head mold. Sort of limits usability in MOCs. I do like how they created a more feminine torso shell for her though, it was a nice touch.
  12. The hair pieces for mini-dolls are all compatible with traditional figs (and vice-versa). The only real drawbacks are that like with traditional hairpieces, any hair that exceeds shoulder length can limit the amount the head can be rotated, and in the case of Elves hairpieces, the ears use flesh tones rather than the classic yellow. Okay, that's good to hear. Thank you! I actually have one more question. I noticed a few of the mini-dolls have cloth skirts, am I safe in assuming those can be worn on minifigures as capes? Here's what I'm talking about. http://brickset.com/parts/6164099 I actually don't know, and don't have any of the skirts in question to test. I know that the capes used on the Elves figs can't be used on minifigures, because they're sized to the smaller mini-doll necks. But the skirts are sized to mini-doll waists, which means that they're narrower than a typical minifigure neck stud from one side but wider from another. I don't know whether that'd mean that these skirts could flex to fit a minifigure neck stud or not. You'd have to ask someone who has one of the parts in question. Ah, so mini-doll necks are actually smaller than regular ones? Would have never guessed that all. That's unfortunate since some of those capes looked pretty nice. As for the skirts, I noticed the different holes right after I posted my response. Even if I got it to fit, I doubt it'd turn out good if the cloth folded or stretched awkwardly when worn. Looks like I'll just try to get hair pieces then. I appreciate you helping me out!
  13. Has anyone seen any full scans of the supposed European exclusive Bionicle magazine or pictures of the polybags that came with it?
  14. Did any of the sets in G2 actually have a transparent orange head? No. No they did not. Does that mean it's a prototype piece or is it simply available in a different theme? Never seen one before. A quick look on Brickset shows the head piece was only released in two different colors, silver and transparent green. I'm betting it's a prototype piece or a different part entirely. If it's the latter, then it could be a transparent orange fist since masks can clip onto those. I'm probably wrong about that though.

  16. I've always wanted to purcahse one of the Friends or Elves sets, but the lack of traditional minifigures is sort of off putting to me. I'm mainly worried about whether or not their hair pieces are compatible with regular minifigures. I have heard in the past that they are, but I wanted to double check just to be on the safe side. The pieces I'm mainly interested in getting are the following. http://brickset.com/parts/6035188 http://brickset.com/parts/6112648 Thank you in advance for assisting me!
  17. Do you know where I might find those videos? I think I know the masks you're referring to, but I would just like to double check. The only bootleged sets I ever see are almost exact replicas of their official Lego counterparts. I tend to stay away from bootleg stuff though, mainly because I'm a bit of a purist regarding that sort of thing. Quality is also a big issue. There are actually quite a lot of bootlegs sold at the local comic convention I attend every year. While it's mostly minifigures, there are still some unique characters and pieces available that Lego never released themselves.
  18. Prototype weapons and masks are pieces I'd be most interested in acquiring, specifically ones with unique colors. As far as I know, the masks that were given away at NYCC were simply looser than the masks that were packaged and sold. Would love to have silver boomerangs. Kind of jealous now, haha. Where might I find the compendium though? Letagi made the topic a while back. It details every unique collectible from the Platinum Avohkii to the prototypes and misprints. However, it doesn't detail the weapons and armor I remember seeing a list for. I'll keep looking around for that, but as I recall, it only included G1 parts. Not sure where else to look for anything other than the masks.Thank you for finding that for me. Even though it mostly contained G1 items, it was still an interesting read.
  19. This years sets were sort of just okay to me. There were a few things I disliked, but it mainly boils down to sloppy color schemes on some figures and those weird shadow trap things. But I digress, Umarak the Hunter was actually an impressive set. While I'm not a fan of his bow since it constricts his range of motion, almost everything else about him makes up for it. Especially his antlers. I love those antlers so much. The fact that his Destroyer form replaced them with generic horns was pretty disappointing. They're unique to his character, especially considering he's the only Bionicle set to have antlers, and I believe he should have kept them.
  20. 1/5 I know you by avatar only.
  21. The music really ties these animations up quite nicely! Nice work with the video. The jungle region was especially cool.
