Unfortunately Tekulo is still watching Once Upon a Time
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Kaleidoscope Tekulo's blog entry in This is my lawn
I stopped watching two episodes into this season. Granted that was because of school, but I do not feel like I am missing anything. -
You can dress up as anything, what do you dress up as?
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Soran's blog entry in blogs_blog_1815
The Xenomorph counts, right? -
Most tests I've taken have sorted me into Hufflepuff, this one included. So I guess that makes me a Hufflepuff.

Ewan McGregor sounds like he's struggling with the Lumiere voice in that brief snippet. Hopefully his line deliveries are better for the final film. But I'm still excited for this movie for many reasons, mostly Menken's involvement. The prologue music is one of my favorite pieces from him and I look forward to hearing how it's adapted for this film. If anything, maybe we'll now get that piece of music available without the narration. Shame I won't be able to catch this in theaters.

Pokemon Sun and Moon and the Assassin's Creed Movie Trailer
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Toa Smoke Monster's blog entry in The Island
I've never played an Assassin's Creed game, but I'm excited to see the movie due to the talent involved. Despite that, the trailer did very little to excite me. Here's hoping it's a case of 'bad trailer, good movie.'- 2 comments

Ever Wanted to Live in Westeros?
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Xaeraz's blog entry in oh god blog titles
Yeah, anytime I see Westeros pop up in one of those 'which fantasy place would you want to live in' polls, I can't help but wonder if the people who chose that option have ever read the books or seen the show. I admit I don't read a lot of fantasy literature, but Westeros seems like the least appealing fantasy land of them all. -
A Fourteenth Random Question(s)
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Toa Smoke Monster's blog entry in The Island
The Fantast Four movie that came out somewhere around 2005-2006 with Michael Chiklis and Jessica Alba. I don't remember much, but I do remember it being incredibly dull, and I really hated the villain. -
A Thirteenth Random Question(s)
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Toa Smoke Monster's blog entry in The Island
The Incredibles doesn't count (it's not based on a comic), but I'm making it count. It's a movie with superheroes, but it's not about the superheroes. It's about a slightly disfunctional family who learn to trust and see the potential in each other. And if that weren't enough, the movie embraces spy tropes rather than superhero tropes, and because of that it doesn't feel like any other movie ever made with super heroes. It's an incredibly refreshing movie. Why more comic book movies aren't using it as a model is beyond me. -

I can think of plenty of films which would make for a good animated spinoff, but as far as live action films that would have been better as animation... I got nothing. I think I actually did have an answer to this question at some point, but what it was I can't recall. EDIT: When I wrote the first sentence, what came to mind was Pacific Rim, and to be honest, while I am just fine with as a live action film, I think it could have worked just as well in animated form. Guillermo del Toro took inspiration from various different anime, so I wouldn't be out of place for his film to be animated. And in some ways, having the film animated could, just by the nature of the medium, make it easier for some viewers to swallow the more outlandish elements of the story. I'm totally okay with is as a live action, and I'm not sure it would be "better" as an animated film, but it could definitely work as one.

No. We're Malachite now. Malachite's pretty an' all, but can I be Galena instead? It's shinier.

It's all fun and games until someone sees a flying ear and decides it'd be fun to blow an air horn in it.

Official New LEGO Star Wars Set Images Online
Vorahk1Panrahk2 replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
Can't wait until we get a review of that X-Wing. I really want to know if the thruster attachment got fixed from Poe's X-Wing. The build looks darn near the same (though maybe a slightly shorter fuselage?), so maybe not. But maybe. I also wouldn't mind seeing a comparison between that Turbo Tank and the one from 2005. I like the vehicle and wouldn't mind an updated one, but not if it's going to be smaller. This one looks like it could be but it's hard to tell. -
Well lucky for you it is, in fact, getting one. I remember a while ago there were rumors or whisperings of a live action Star Wars show in the early development stage. Obviously it went nowhere, but I wouldn't mind one. Could be good. I heard an idea once that Tolkien's The Hobbit would work better as a TV series, and I can totally see that with the books very episodic structure.

Something Something Diversity Something Star Wars
Vorahk1Panrahk2 commented on Ta-metru_defender's blog entry in TMD's Creatively Named Blog
I'm glad you wrote this entry because, even though I'm incredibly critical and/or skeptical of these new movies, this is not one of the reasons why. There's no reason why the characters who inhabit this galaxy far far away can't be as diverse as the fanbase. All that should matter is who's bad and who's good, and neither of those should be dependent on race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, whathaveyou. I'm glad this is the direction they are moving in. -
Rouge One will be the tie-in makeup line.

LEGO Minifigures Disney Series Revealed!
Vorahk1Panrahk2 replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
Despite being a huge Disney fan, I can't seem to muster any enthusiasim for these except maybe Stitch. I've just never had a desire to own any of these characters in minifigure form. -
I missed the last one on account of flu. I have a lot of catching up to do tomorrow.

^ One thing I thought was really weird is that this place has a thing called the Mammal Inclusion Initiative. They're all mammals. I don't remember seeing any non mammals. What the heck is the point of such an act? Am I reading too much into a CGI animated film with cute animal leads?
-
Good luck getting that version before it's gone from stores that morning. They'll go fast. I think you can Pre-order on the Walmart website, though.

^ I too am disappointed by the choice to include dialogue from the film. I admit I have yet to play a LEGO game that includes voices, but judging from all the trailers it just doesn't work. I find that there's a certain charm in having the (relatively) mute characters. The additional content that's suposed to bridge the gap between 6 and 7 also sounds disappointing, mostly because they are answering questions I never cared to ask in the first place. But it's a LEGO game and those always have a certain charm to them, so I'm optimistic that I'll enjoy the game. I'll definitely get more enjoyment out of this than I did the movie.

I'm almost finished watching a Let's Play of this game, and I have to say that I'm really enjoying it. I do agree with you about Ana though. If the first game ever goes on sale in Apple applications store (unlikely) I'll probably buy it. I really enjoyed watching that one and it would probably be fun to play, too.
