  1. lol TWOTOA... They look alright. I'm glad combiners are still very much a thing, riding off of the Skull combo's from last year. These two look pretty standard, just regular humanoid... but again, I'm glad they exist. -NotS
  2. Haha! Happy 20th, LEGO.com. I used to visit that site like a madman. Good days. The original version looks about as good as I can make a website at this current state. -NotS
  3. Ha. Looks hilarious, on the same level of the LEGO movie (which is, of course, to be expected). Very different from Superman v Batman for sure, and probably for the better. -NotS
  4. I'll have to check these out! It's great that the community has been able to get in contact with these guys and gain some valuable information for us fans. Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen. -NotS
  5. He is rare where he was exclusive to an Iruini-Norik two pack. Apparently that was not the case everywhere. Regardless... I wish I had him. -NotS
  6. I was gonna suggest - get them to say some early Bionicle quotes - but it looks like you guys are already on that. I am stoked to hear the rest of the interviews. -NotS
  7. I haven't been as active as last year, but that's in part due to a grueling schedule. I know that there was some hostility towards the reboot when it launched... but now? Seriously? Never before have we had such fantastic complex sets. And if the story isn't doing it for you (I know it really isn't for me, despite liking the media strategy) there is no need to go up in arms about it. I guess it happens with every fanbase unfortunately... -NotS
  8. I think this is as accurate as we can get right now. xD -NotS
  9. The Journey to One was pretty great. I liked the way they did the recap with Narmoto narrating to Okotan kids. The first episode felt rather rushed. I liked a lot of the stuff that was shown, but the pacing felt all over the place. Loved the characterization of many of the beasts though. They did such a good job with the Spider traps, and I loved Ketar, Uxar and especially Terak. Kind of cute really. And a nice focus on other characters other than Tahu - Lewa, in particular, really shone in this episode. Second episode was considerably more tighter-paced. The focus being on Pohatu and his relationship with Ketar was surprising and satisfying. It added a great dynamic to the pair that none of the other Toa had. I especially really liked the fact that It was actually pretty smartly written and I was actually pretty invested in the confrontation. Also, the maze and the whole premise of the crater island just had me thinking back to G1 underground endgames and it made me happy. Animation was great. I loved the cel-shaded character models paired with the cartoon backgrounds. The running animations were a bit sloppy but everything else looked fantastic. The voice acting wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but certainly could have been better. It might also have been thanks to some straight-up bad dialogue/delivery at some points that made it seem as bad as it did. But overall, I was pretty pleased with the characters. The music was also fantastic. No outright memorable themes, but they did a good job accenting big moments and adding to the atmosphere of Okoto. Most of all, I'm just happy to see more creatures and some flora of Okoto. It's really helping with worldbuilding. The second island is another big component that made Okoto seem more interesting than before. Many people have pointed out possible references to past movies - the scene with the blue Okotan child speaking and the red shushing him really reminded me of the scene with Jaller shushing Takua in front of Turaga Nokama in MoL. Man, it's just great to see BIONICLE on the television again. -NotS
  10. Trailer really does no justice for the series. It was a fun two episodes. Cool to look back and compare my expectations with what we actually got (and it turns out my expectations were greatly exceeded!) -NotS
  11. Well it begs the question - is the transformation reversible? If Umarak takes off the Mask of Control, will he return to being just a Hunter? -NotS
  12. That was great! I loved that they bothered to recap the 2015 story in a rather neat prologue. As for the meat of it, both episodes were pretty cool. I loved the animation and art style, and the writing was not bad. Pohatu and Ketar got some big moments and that was fresh to see. Umarak also seemed like a pretty cool character. Just a shame that the line delivery and some of the voice acting was not to par. Regardless, The Journey to One is so far a really awesome piece of media for Bionicle and I am not disappointed! -NotS
  13. Still haven't played it! Wish it was on Microsoft Phones too. Ah well, hopefully it'll get an online release! -NotS
  14. Awesome poster. Looks like something for a major motion picture. All the Toa (and Umarak) look really good in this. I'm just so stoked for Journey to One. -NotS
  15. Sure, why not? It's not like the story in G2 is anything crazy great anyway. I don't think it'll be tarnished by a little expanded continuity. It doesn't even have to be a big deal - just a fun little side thing for older fans. -NotS
  16. Umarak can easily be explained by a transformation instigated by the Mask of Control. I mean, we've had that kind of explanation before in Bionicle. As for Ekimu, might just be temporary. I like your idea though, it really integrates the extra mask that comes with Ekimu well. I guess we'll just wait and see! -NotS
  17. Wow. I still can't say I dig the aesthetics of these sets but man they have some really cool, original functions. Its hard to be mad at a less cohesive design when the functions are this unique. Especially Storm Beast. Wow, does that ever look ugly, but someone had to design that! So cool. I'm warming up more and more to these sets the more I see them. Thanks for the video! -NotS
  18. Same as the first story update, sans narration by Ekimu. Still cool visuals from the show and while it doesn't seem to be the most effective way of telling the story, the bulk of it will come from this week's Journey to One so I really can't complain. Bionicle TV show/movie for the win! -NotS
  19. Looks awesome. I love the animation style - the more detailed but cel-shaded look of the characters, but set in an almost cartoon back-drop. Voice work sounds meh for the most part - I like Ekimu but Umarak seems mismatched and Lewa's echoiness is bothering me. Regardless, I am still so stoked for this show to drop this week. Binge watching for sure! -NotS
  20. I would have bought them right away. If Journey to One gets a Blu-Ray release, I'd buy that too. I love high-def. -NotS
  21. Yo that Journey to One poster is BALLER. And the teaser on the Netflix page is awesome too. Cool to think we have our very own "Bionicle 5" of sorts. It's a mini-series but more like a movie if you really think about it. I also picked up Umarak the Hunter today. FANTASTIC set. Really fun, complex build. The original limbs are really well designed. Masks look great (especially that Mask of Control - Holy moly!) and the figure just looks so imposing and evil. The armoured look of him is just awesome, and the antlers and pieces of artillery strapped on him add a lot of character. I love the set. -NotS
  22. If there's one thing I can say G2 does supremely well, it's concept art. Never fails to impress. The image of the chamber to the Mask of Control is breathtaking - that box-like labyrinth is very creative and inspired. I love seeing the conception for it. The execution of the setting translates well to the app game and I can't wait to see it in the show. The first image of the Toa approaching the door Tahu is opening is awesome too. They really nailed the setting and atmosphere. If they released a G2 Bionicle artbook, I would buy it in an instant. -NotS
  23. Man, the cartoon-look of the backgrounds works surprisingly well with the more detailed character models. Tahu is looking fantastic in this style, and I can't wait to see the full episodes once they hit Netflix. -NotS
  24. Amazing animation. Great art syle too. Lewa is looking baller, I need to get him and Uxar. -NotS
  25. Wow, those graphics are incredible. LEGO games have come a long way. -NotS
