  1. Now I just want to sit around slowly clapping to... If anybody on BS01 can manage to archive the Villain Wiki article, it would make a great April Fools Prank someday
  2. So I just found this page on a Villain Wiki for Makuta Teridax, and it looks like some fandom writer has hit it: and made the craziest G1-G2 connection yet, its nearly laughable! http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Makuta%20Teridax So to sum up the wackiest parts of this Wiki page: 1. Makuta the Mask Hoarder is Makuta Teridax 1000 years after the G1 story 2. Kulta gets help from Takadox? 3. Makuta will return from Okoto back to the island of Mata-Nui (despite the fact island was destroyed?) where he will try and plunge the island into darkness. 4. As punishment Makuta was cast into The Zone of Darkness... 5. Makuta's favorite hobby: crossing the moral event horizon! I know that this Wiki is hardly a BS01, but this page is laughable. Should someone fix it,or should we run with it and base all our crazy new fandom on it? Edit: For comparison Custom Bionicle Wiki explains the canon better than the Villain Wiki! Who would have believed that!?
  3. If it was used as a mask though it would look like the baby brother of the Gen 2 Mask of Creation.Time for what Lego fans say: Nice Parts Usage!
  4. They actually don't even use it in the Maersk sets anymore, because Maersk actually changed their corporate color. So the Maersk Line Triple-E actually used Medium Azur (which is a near-match for the new corporate color) instead of Pastel Blue (Maersk Blue). Well I'm glad I got the Maersk Train set then; or else I wouldn't have any Maersk bricks at all... Sad to here it was discontinued (but then again, what good was a licensed color that couldn't be used without Maersk's permission?); but hey it always did have a resemblance to Medium Azur anyway.

    Trader Who

Wait: let me guess, a Hero Factory: Invasion from Below reference?
  6. With Christmas pushing its way into stores well before Thanksgiving; I couldn't help but recall my wish lists for my parents; where they had to try and learn Bionicle lore just to buy the exact set I wanted... So in tribute, I've written this tongue and cheek "quasi-poem" about parent's frustration with our beloved franchise! It was early November, before the turkey was cooked, That some parents went to the store, to beat the Christmas crowds. These parents, a special task they had, To buy “Bionicle’s” for their special lad. Alas, moaned the father; for what should they do? The names of these toys, just are nonsensical, I have no clue! Did our son say he wanted Tahu or Vakama? Did he want the big spider named Nidhikki? Or these cute bird like Bohrok that roll in a ball? I forgot, said the mother; which ones are good guys, Perhaps these fine Vahki, proper police they must be! The father paused in confusion, trying to recall the names, Did my son want Makuta or Matau? And what was the difference between the small and big Iruni? Why can’t he want the Star Wars set here? Because, I at least know the difference, between Han and Chewie! Why does this toy brand have such nonsensical names? Why can’t they be easy, like “Master, Protector, of Villain?” What fun is a Bionicle, if it cannot transform; Into an underpowered Chevy? Or a yellow jalopy? Why does my child want all these Kanohi? And what does he mean when he says he wants a Vahi? Why can’t he like Mario, like them other kids? But instead adores this Mata Nui? Why is this Roodaka, dressed like an Emo? And this Vezon, is glued to a spider? For this is all nonsense you see, It is all very nonsensical to me! The mother cried in grand desperation, Impossible it is! To understand these things! Expensive it will be, if he wants all six… Red, Blue, Green, White, and Black. And what is the difference, between Brown with Yellow!! Why does he want all of these things? In desperation, a thought was formerd: That perhaps he won’t care, if we get him something along the same… They stared at the Lego, to find an alternate toy, Then mother and father, much to their joy, Found a nice brown haired boy, with wings. Then they said together in joy… …this nice new Galidor toy, he looks to be game!
  7. I don't know. I figured the Ancient City was more of a Metru-Nui type deal (although less futuristic). The city was home to the islands center of commerce, Ekimu and Makuta's masks driving the economy. The arena would have been used by the outlying villages for sports used to settle disputes (ala Kohli or Glatorian fights). Villagers of different tribes would live in the city. As time went on, the city's influence slowly modernized the rest of Okoto, for example the construction of the temple of time in an area removed from the city. So when the city was lost, the people reverted back to living in simple villages. Kind of how European society went backwards after the fall of Rome (thus leading to the Middle Ages). If anything Ekimu's return should reinvigorate the island of Okoto. However if the city is anything like Rapture, maybe we should be afraid Ekimu is back in charge!
  8. Maybe Makuta has a storage unit in the ancient city that he rented from some villager..
  9. First exposure to 7 year old me was the ads and comics in Lego: Mania Magazine. Soon I was on a school bus and I spotted a kid with Turaga Vakama. For some reason I was awestruck by the red face underneath the mask. Before I knew it I had my mom take me to the store, were I got Lewa. She had me finish my homework before I could build him

    Top Toa Tied

Well this makes election years a lot more fun!
  11. Yeah a new movie could be Gen 3, based on the Gen 1 story with visual G2 design elements. Actually wouldn't be that bad of an idea...
  12. A group wash up on a mysterious chain of islands. There they find out that there is a conspiracy going on, and they must stop it. They fight beasts (including polar "ash" bears), and thugs hired by an evil villain. One group even finds a submarine and some scuba gear. They discovered that the damage done to the islands was because of a violent event which an evil spirit caused a long time ago. Some of the hero's get transported to other places. There are a few hero's who die heroically, only to be revived later on. In the end, everybody discovers that the whole time they were just in purgatory (I mean, ummmm... Living inside a giant robot) Bionicle=Lost
  13. I have to wonder if Lego is aware of these flaws, and that is why projects such as The LEGO Movie, Ninjago, and the Lego Star Wars TV specials were so well done... Lego learned not to make the mistakes they made with Bionicle films. Also the fact Bionicle stands as a good story franchise is not because of the films; but thanks to the hard work of Greg, Advanced, and Templar Studios. Those guys deserve a round of applause for making a good story despite the many prat falls of the films... P.S. as a kid I was upset that they didn't make a movie for 2006, now in retrospect I'm glad they didn't
  14. Sometimes I feel lucky that we even got to see the Toa Nuva again in 2008 after a 6 years since their last set form! Definitely going to jump on the Turaga bandwagon here, old wise leader figures seem to work well for establishing mythos of any story. They were the Gandalf, the Dumbledore, the Yoda, and the Obi-Wan of the Bionicle story. They were the warriors who had gone the way before, and knew from experience what needed to be done. And then they just vanished after their flashback, we haven't seen them on Spherus Magna at all! At least the new Protectors are sort of a tribute to the Turaga, although they are not the same characters... (I think I basically said this earlier in another thread, but it is worth repeating I think)
  15. ^Yes. He could do a voice of both Dume the Wise Leader, and Teridax Pretending to be Dume oh so well. Rob Paulsen in as a brief cameo from Taipu. If Taipu's supervisor is voiced by Maurice LaMarche, all the better Takua/Takanuva: Chris Evans. Mata Nui: Michael Dorn again! (Let's face it, he's the only reason to watch TLR) Zahkatan: Mark Hamill. Vezok: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Ahkomou: the narrator from 2015 (it would make us hate Ahkomou even more!) Matau: Eddie Murphy (think Donkey or Mushu and not Daddy Day Care...) Lewa: Chris Pratt (LEGO Movie connection...) Vakama: Morgan Freeman (again LEGO Movie: but just imagine that voice saying "Gather around, to hear the tale of the Bionicle..." Oh yeah!) I need some ideas for Gali, Nokama, and Hahli. I'd want them to have excellent actors.
  16. Yeah the whole Mask/Face animation was a disaster. The Pakari mouth for Takua for example. Or the creepy little teeth on the characters in Legend Reborn. For all the criticism we can give to the new 2015 animations, we have to give them credit for their simple, yet effective Mask animations; they are expressive and still come across as being a mask. Plus the new animations dare to show the characters maskless: in the old movies it was obvious they were avoiding it, most blatantly in Legends of Metru Nui with Jaller or the "mask on a mask" Vahi... Oh and the way Matoran were depicted as children in the original triology. The lore had established the Matoran as hard working and mature, but the movies threw it out.
  17. Wait... the Thrawn trilogy's non-canon now? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! (I blame Disney) But still, I don't reckon G1's non-canon. It's probably just a parallel universe. It's only non-canon until Thrawn gets a cameo in Star Wars: Rebels someday ... Heck the purpose of declaring anything non-canon/alternate universe is so that the IP owner can rip-off their older work easily example: Disney: The Expanded Universe is non-canon, now we put their stories into Rebels... DC: The previous Batman films are an alternate story, so now we can make a movie of Batman versus Superman... Lego: Gen 1 is an unrelated universe, so now we can use the six Toa without linking to their former back story...
If you can get the joke, props to you Hint: (Master and Teacher are the same word in Spanish, so you can guess how the new Toa Masters were translated...) EDIT: Just read that there is a rule not to post to much in a foreign language without the message being obvious, so here is a full translation of the above: "What do you say man? There is Spanish and French on Lego boxes, of course the Matoran can speak those languages. Matoran are very intlegent! Also the new Toa are 'teachers', they can teach the Matoran!"
  19. Maybe Makuta was Megablocks, and Ekimu is Lego... Just because they do the same thing doesn't mean we like Megablocks as much as we like Lego. Or maybe it's a Ford vs. Chevy issue, two very similar masks but different design features. Maybe Okotorans who like Ekimu's masks better have bumper stickers on their Ussual Crabs bragging about their love of Ekimu products, with a pirated image of Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes) umm... "desecrating" the Mask of Control. It's not they hate Makuta, they hate his brand!
  20. Yeah that would be my fear. A Bionicle movie being nothing more than giant robots and stuff exploding. In a sense, the 4 direct to video movies were a tad to tame to really tell the story; but a theatrical release in the hands of somebody like Bay would make a movie a bit to violent. What we'd need is a good film that works to establish the characters, the lore, and then kicks the action into high gear. Think more "Avengers" and less "Fantastic 4 reboot." We need to learn to like and identify with all six Toa before the action starts Oh, and it needs to be well done so adults and critics like it, instead of deriding it as a 2 hour long Toy commercial
  21. I voted for "Stop Changing the Canon" on all of them. I like to think that with the Gen 2 underway, that all the nitpicking details of Gen 1 will be left to rest for the time being. If anything we should have a poll asking if Protectors and Toa are the same species, thats a myster we have yet to have answered!
  22. You said it best, unless a dimension hopping mask like the olmak exists in g2 then they are not connected and merely a separate universe like in the lego movie. So wait, on the edge of Okoto is a wall of Lego Bricks that President Lord Business put there to divide Gen 1, Gen 2, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Middle Zealand, and Bricksburg from each other?
  23. But Hewki and Macku now have a big height difference... unless he becomes a Turaga and that's just plain out wrong. (Or she could become a Toa, but that wouldn't be nearly as funny...). If were going to start shipping Turaga here, then we might as well start viewing Nokama and Matau as that cute old couple in Up... (or maybe Nokama ends up with Vakama, but Matau was the only one making an effort at it, I figure in this is odd fanon world they would end up together) Maybe Matoran will adopt Agori kids... Or if they ever return to a Metru-Nui level tech, the Matoran might invent a way to manufacture more Matoran so Matoran couples could adopt? Or maybe Matoran don't need parenting, they just hatch them in the factory and throw them out to sea hoping they manage to swim back someday. The best swimmers we send to Metru-Nui, and the worst we send down south for "repairs"... So many possibilities...
