  1. Yes, another funny one. The fact it looks like you have an actual news archive building up makes it all that funnier.
  2. First, that is one of the most adorable head cannons I have heard yet. I really hope the G2 story team gets the guts to flesh out the story pretty soon. I imagine all the Protectors alone would have interesting stories. What does Narmoto's wife think when he has to leave the village behind and wander in the mountains with Tahu? How did the Protectors react to the moment when their fathers passed away, and they had to inherit the title from them? So many oportunities. Second, for G1 what you said makes sense as a way Matoran could reproduce in a very Matoran platonic manner. Just build an empty Matoran shell, and then form some kid to inhabit it that is made out of a fusion/kaita type deal.
  3. Yeah, eventually the Matoran will have to do something, or else their race will automatically go extinct a million years after arriving on Spherus Magna, when all their parts wear out and they shut down for good. That million years is plenty of time to plead to Mata Nui for the gift of being able to have children, or to recover the Red Star from orbit and place it on Spherus Magna to both a) build new Matoran, and b) revive the dead ones. (p.s. one of the few better story elements in G2 was seeing that there were families and kids straight of the bat from the animations, it was very refreshing)
  4. Umm... My last self MOC was a minifigure, which is just the Indianna Jones head with a different hair piece. I did create a MOC though of a guy called "The Hunter" for a Christmas contest here back in 2006; but I'd hardly consider him a self MOC though. Now with G2 officially throwing the gender/element limitations out the window though, it could be fun to have a self MOC as a dude Ga-Toa (or maybe one could just declare them-self to be Kivoda); but personality wise I think I would more closely associate with a Ko-Toa anyway... So yeah.
  5. The Matoran grammar teacher said to her student, "This sentence is wrong, there should be Nokama there."
  6. Un-organic Inika anything! Those masks and heads where pretty limited in their use, I would have preferred that they were designed to fit Metru heads instead of the green ball of head.
  7. Yeah, reverse evolution of the Bohrok would cause a lot of problems for the Matoran society... But what are those Bohrok doing anyway these days, just sitting around in half destroyed nests in the GSR waiting to clear the surface of an island that will never again exist? But then again I could see Mata Nui doing that, he seems like the type of dude who would retreat into thousands of years of meditation inside the Inika, only to come out secretly from time to time to play pranks on the Matoran and Agori... He has to be getting bored of sitting in that mask eventually!
  8. Normal beings don't change their DNA during their lifetime unless a mutation has occurred. So I imagine that biologically speaking, a Matoran would be identical biologically to when it a was first built. But as established in Bionicle lore, Matoran can be "rebuilt." I believe there are a few key instances of this happening to either minor or major degrees: Metru Nui Style Matoran devolved to Tohunga Style after being exposed to a Matoran SphereTohunga Style being rebuilt into the later Mata-Nui island style of MatoranBroken Matoran being rebuilt by KarazhaniTakua, being recolored and disguised to hide his identity as an Av-Matoran Mahri-Nui Matoran being strengthened by pit-mutagen.Anytime a Matoran becomes a ToaAlso of note is the Dark Hunter Gatherer (http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Gatherer) who once was a Matoran but gradually built himself up to the size of a titan over time.
  9. Bohrok eyes and Pohatu toes... Thats all I can think of right now.
  10. I saw this the other day. I liked how in the Brickshelf file that it shows how you also built a mini Metru-Nui inside his head! Congrats on making it to the frontpage.
  11. Yes, the other four Hagah members please! Toa Nidhiki. Gen 2 Makuta.
  12. ^Interesting that the Game Boy Game depicts basaltic columns... And yes I just pulled up a picture of Midak's hut on BS01 and there definitely is some green stuff growing there.
  13. What, we had a Chima forum here? I guess if anybody still wants to talk about it we have the Lego Discussion Forum here or the Action Themes Forum on Eurobricks... But then who really wants to talk about Chima?
  14. Well for all we know Mt. Ihu is an inactive volcano (explaining its height, being a Strato-Volcano like those found in the Cascade Mountains or Los Andes) and that Onu-Wahi is on the former lava-bed of the the Ihu/Mangai lava flows, with the active lava flow going into modern Ta-Wahi. Deeper underground there could be granitic batholiths and rills leading right up to that mysterious layer of Big Giant Robot Strata... (Then again, seeing that the island was nothing more than an artificial construct to hide a sunken robot, that geologic history would seem overly complex, but a fake geologic record would do wonders in hiding the fact it is artificial wouldn't it?) Also do we know if Onu-Koro has any areas exposed to the surface? The cutscenes from the cancelled 2001 video game show the sky while Whenua and the Tohunga are busy disco dancing... but it hasn't shown up since.
  15. Something that has bugged me about Bionicle since I was a kid, was that we never have gotten any good description of the surface above the Earth Realms in the story (i.e. Onu-Wahi, Onu-Metru, and the Earth Region of Okoto). We know very well about the caves and villages beneath, but it is still a mystery what lies exactly on top. First I'll mention all that I know about each realm's surface, and then see if you guys know anything in addition Onu-Wahi, in the MNOG we see a bit of the surface of Onu-Koro near Midak's hut. All that is noticeable is that it the rocks are gray, hinting that perhaps they could be a formation of granite-like rocks. At the upper edge of Onu-Koro is the Papa Nihu Reef. Onu-Metru, this might be the surface we know the most about. The surface is pitted with mines and tunnels which lead down into the Archives, with towers coming out of them. Region of Earth, on the maps of Okoto, this area is gray. So anything else to add to this info? Speculation on what perhaps lies above these areas, (particularly Onu-Wahi or the Region of Earth?)
  16. Wow, had these been the official sets instead of the stuff we got; Galidor might still be around!
  17. Somewhere in the Fire Village there's a villager named Takua with a mismatched blue Mask, whose best friend Jaller is the Capitan of the Village Guard. Jaller though is sometimes missing from his post to go and see a certain woman named Hahli in the Water Village... Takua also has a secret interest in a woman named Gavla who also where's a blue Mask in a Fire Village... There's also an old medicine man named Vakama, who is a friend of Narmoto's family. There are a few more weirdos named Kapura, Nuhrii, and Balta... The Toa in my mind are also the Gen 1 Toa, whose spirits where resurrected into the G2 story, after they died while using the Mask of Life back on Spherus Magna to do something heroic...
  18. Nice MOC, brings back a lot of Retro-Nostalgic feelings!
  19. Well G1 Makuta Teridax was a shapeshifter, capable of being a humanoid, to a rahi beast, to a robot, to a gas, to a vortex of evil. So while I'm not sure if G2 Makuta took on the form of LoSS, it would be interesting if G2 Makuta had some shapeshifting ability.
  20. I think the more complex storyline had some benefits, as an adult I can now look back and be surprised by the depth of the story. But then again, I first followed the story in 2001, from the beginning. But very few kids are interested in learning an entire canon when they are 7 or 8 years old, and I can see how Lego's story approach was off putting to them, especially if they picked up the toy in 2006 or 2008.
  21. Sadly the poster with the island of Mata Nui was a fan edit on the Mask Maker Contest Video. Since then Lego has officially released the poster, and there is no Mata Nui on it.
  22. Maybe they have selective memory deletion? Like their brain could have an organic part to store permenant info in conjunction with a hard drive, for example: their name. It seems no matter how many memory wipes that happen, they always recal their name. Then their short term memory is easily erased on a RAM drive type deal. This could be what Teridax erased while they are in the Matoran spheres.
  23. Good question, and I don't know the answer! If anything it goes to show that the Big mystery in G2 is where do the Toa come from?
  24. Nerd Alert: Feel Free to Ignore my Ideas Don't forget that frozen ice under glaciers is technically a Metamorphic Rock (mineral crystals compressed by pressure to form a new solid mass), so Ice could under that definition fall into Pohatu or Onua's domain... And if ice is made of water shouldn't Gali be able to use the water trapped a glacier? Or the water trapped in an opal rock?
